Russian Anti-LGBT Crackdown Exporting Homophobic Violence Throughout Region, Experts Warn

Russia's ban on gay "propaganda" and copycat laws throughout the region have created a "license to commit violence against" LGBT people, "give the permission" for "street violence" and "create legitimacy for violence," according to human rights advocates working in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Kyrgyszstan who spoke last night at a panel at Columbia University.

Russia's spate of anti-gay laws has quickly influenced neighboring countries, part of what Columbia professor Tanya Domi called "the Putin project" of solidifying Russia's influence in the region.

American activists including National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown, anti-gay agitator Scott Lively, and the World Congress of Families – which receives support from a who's who of American anti-gay groups – have lent support to Russia's anti-gay laws.

Matthew Schaaf, a Russia expert at Freedom House, said that while there were plenty of logistical questions about the enforcement of the ban on gay "propaganda" to minors that was passed last year, one effect of the law is clear.

"What we've actually seen is that this law in Russia and other restrictions on LGBT people and people who advocate for LGBT rights is essentially a license to commit violence against them, to discriminate against them," he said. "It creates an environment where these people are positioned as being others, as not being us, as an influence that we need to control and to destroy."

Schaaf said that the anti-gay bills are "part of an overall crackdown on civil society in Russia."

He mentioned the newly released Russian state cultural policy, which explicitly rejects "the principles of multiculturalism and tolerance" and denies state support to "cultural projects which impose alien to society values."

"What is common to all of these different issues is a rhetoric of some kind of external, existential threat to Russia, to Russian culture, to Russia as a country, to the borders of Russia, to the Russian people, to the Russian economy, and so on," Schaaf said. "So, if you're hearing this message, you're hearing a message that's frightening: that the country is under assault by these horrible, horrible forces."

"This is what Russia is exporting to other parts of the world, and they're aggressively pushing this agenda on many, many, many levels," he added.

Olena Shevchenko, who chairs the Ukrainian LGBTI advocacy group Insight, said that pushing anti-gay laws is part of a "Russian foreign strategy" as Russia is "pushing this border between [its] traditional values concept and human rights in Western Europe."

Anna Kirey of Human Rights Watch put it in terms of LGBT rights being a unit of geopolitical "currency."

"It feels like it's this big political game where Russia is creating this certain currency that they sort of use politically…to mobilize supporters," she said. "LGBT rights now in this region are definitely one of these currencies to create opposition to the West and more support for the Eurasian Customs Union in different countries."

Shevchenko noted that Russia's move toward anti-gay legislation "influenced Ukraine immediately."

In late 2012, Ukraine – which was the first former Soviet republic to decriminalize homosexuality – took the first step toward passing its own "propaganda" ban imposing fines or up to five years in prison for "any positive depiction" of LGBT people.

The BBC interviewed the pastor of an evangelical church in Kiev who had pushed for the bill, which he described as a "national security" measure. "Here's the issue," he told the BBC. "In a real democracy, my freedom and rights are limited by the freedom of someone else."

Shevchenko said that a similar sentiment was behind wide support for anti-gay laws in Ukraine. "Many people think that equality for LGBT people will be a threat to the rights of majority," she said. "Basically it will be a threat to the right to discriminate."

She added that anti-LGBT hate speech from politicians and the media essentially "give permission [for] street violence towards LGBT people" and lead to the "legitimization of violence."

"Basically, they think it allows them to go on the streets and discriminate and to beat them and to rape, when it comes to LB and transgender women," she said.

Kirey, a researcher at Human Rights Watch who has done extensive work in Kyrgyzstan, spoke of a similar situation in that country, where a Human Rights Watch report in January found a pattern of police violence and extortion against gay men.

Kyrgyz authorities met the HRW report with denial and even laughter, she said…and then two months later introduced their own Russian-style gay "propaganda" ban.

"Right now in the region, any conversations about LGBT rights are immediately put in the box of 'propaganda,'" said Kirey. She added that such legislation not only "create[s] legitimacy for violence" but also "shrinks the space where LGBT activists are able to raise their concerns, which is very upsetting."

"Literally, people are now thinking that they have the permission of the government to continue these homophobic crimes, which is a very scary development," she said.

Scott Lively: 'Science Says' Gays 'Using Parts Of The Body In Ways They're Not Supposed To Be Used'

Anti-gay crusader and Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Scott Lively was a guest on the The Alan Colmes Show yesterday, where he attempted to explain why “homosexuality is a behavioral disorder on par with alcoholism or eating disorders.”

Lively told Colmes that “homosexual conduct is inherently wrong and dangerous and harmful” because “it’s using parts of the body in ways they’re not supposed to be used.”

When Colmes asked him “who says” that LGBT people use their bodies “in ways they’re not supposed to,” Lively replied, “Well, science says, for one thing.”

When Colmes asked him for scientific evidence of this, Lively of course couldn’t name any, but said that scientific studies aren’t even necessary because his point is “self-evident” and “the best arguments are arguments from simple logic, and when you get off into scientific studies then you’re off in the weeds.”

Lively: I believe that homosexuality is a behavioral disorder on par with alcoholism or eating disorders, things that people suffer with. It isn’t just a moral weakness. It’s something that people suffer with.

Colmes: How do you account for the fact that there are many gays who are happily gay, they’re not suffering because of it, they’re happily living their lives, some of them with partners. Alcoholism causes definite problems, physical problems.

Lively: Hey, there’s a lot of happy alcoholics.

Colmes: Well, but I don’t know how you compare a decision that somebody makes – I’m not calling being gay a decision, but a decision to be married to someone of the same gender, a decision to have sex with someone of the same gender – how do you call that analogous to alcoholism, when someone could be very not negatively affected by the results of those actions?

Lively: Well, I disagree that they can be ‘not negatively affected.’ I think homosexual conduct is inherently wrong and dangerous and harmful.

Colmes: Why? Why?

Lively: Why? Because it’s engaging in, it’s using parts of the body in ways they’re not supposed to be used.

Colmes: Says who?

Lively: Frankly, my model that I follow and that I advocate is that all sex belongs inside of authentic marriage, between a man and a woman.

Colmes: Who says that the human body should not be done in a way, or used in a way that gays use the human body, who says that?

Lively: Well, science says, for one thing.

Colmes: What scientists are coming out and saying that gays shouldn’t do that?

Lively: Well, not very many these days, because if anyone dares to go against the gays, they get bashed.

Colmes: But where in science has there ever been some scientific theory analogous to global warming, for example, that gays should not do things with their body.

Lively: Alan, it’s self-evident. It’s self-evident that anal…

Colmes: Wait a minute, you’re saying science, you didn’t say it was self-evident. Where’s the science in this?

Lively: Well, if you want to go down that path, I suppose we can go dig up studies and all that, but we don’t need to do that because it’s self-evident

Colmes: Because you can’t back up what you said if you don’t do that.

Lively: I believe that the best arguments are the arguments from simple logic, and when you get off into scientific studies, then you’re off in the weeds.

Colmes: But you’re the one who brought up science, Dr. Lively, you’re the one who brought that up.

Christian Post Columnist Likens Scott Lively To Jesus Christ For Opposing 'Demonic' LGBT Rights

Michael Bresciani took to the Christian Post’s Prophecy and the News blog over the weekend to warn that the “entire LGBT movement is firmly based on a blatant anti-biblical and anti-Christ lie from the pits of hell” and to liken gays to “murderers, thieves, rapists, extortioners, serial killers and child molesters.”

While defending Uganda’s draconian anti-gay law, Bresciani also defended Massachusetts pastor and gubernatorial candidate Scott Lively, who helped craft the Uganda law.

He said that Lively, like Jesus Christ, faces attacks for his condemnation of “today’s apostate church.”

In his day Christ constantly rebuked the religious leaders for their hypocrisy and for misleading people from acknowledging that God was doing something new in their time. While clinging to the old revelation they were leading their followers down the path to hell.

Looking at the scribes and Pharisees eye to eye, Christ rebuked them with what may have seemed a harsh message for his time and what may soon become an illegal message in our time. Let’s see.

Openly rebuking the leaders of the massive temple worship system of his day would be the equivalent of scolding both the leaders of today’s apostate church and just about everyone involved in politics from the President to the local politician.

One recent example is gubernatorial candidate Scott Lively of Massachusetts. Up east in the most liberal state in the union, candidate Scott Lively openly declared that he would never do anything to further the homo-agenda, especially as it pertains to the indoctrination of children.

He was booed and scoffed at by an audience of about 150 people attending an LGBT forum to address what candidates would do to help the “gay-agenda” if they were elected. The meeting held at the Boston Public Library was televised for everyone in the state to see.

The error of all LGBT communications is simple – it is a teaching, an agenda and a demonic doctrine of men. It is a cunningly devised fable (2Pet 1: 16) placed against the revealed will of God regarding homosexuality.

Christ rebuked the Pharisees for founding their teachings on the “lusts” of their father. (The Devil) What would he say about the entire LGBT movement which is obviously based on nothing but lust?

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.” (Jn 8: 44a) We have all heard about the “love” angle and how it is supposed to sanctify the homosexual union, but if you have ever witnessed a gay pride parade or a southern decadence celebration that notion is quickly dispelled. Lust is all there is.

Christ said they had adopted Satan as their father “…He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (Jn 8: 44b)

The entire LGBT movement is firmly based on a blatant anti-biblical and anti-Christ lie from the pits of hell. The lie is simple, God did say homosexuality is an abomination and he has not changed his mind.

Without a “gay gene” it would seem only fair to proclaim that murderers, thieves, rapists, extortioners, serial killers and child molesters are after all – just born that way. Where is the movement to have them all released from prisons and restored to their rightful place in society as good citizens who just happen to be – born that way.

The LGBT has crept into every area of academia, Hollywood, governance, and media. It is pedaled worldwide under the watchful eye of Barack Obama who only recently threatened to pull aid to Uganda for their strict anti-gay laws.

Scott Lively Releasing New Edition Of 'The Pink Swastika' To Expose Gay 'Pinkshirts'

Anti-gay activist Scott Lively announces in a column in WorldNetDaily today that he is working on a new edition of ‘The Pink Swastika,’ his book claiming that gay men were behind the Holocaust. In 'The Pink Swastika,' he argues that a secret gay cabal was plotting against the Jewish people for centuries in order to seek “vengeance against the people whose moral laws had relegated pagan homo-occultism to obscurity and ignominy.”

Lively hooks his announcement to the resignation of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, from which he concludes that “'gay’ bullies have become the new Brownshirts (just as they were the original Brownshirts).”

“Mark my words, these Pinkshirts will eventually grow as violent as the Brownshirts were,” he warns.

He also bizarrely claims that his book caused the gay rights movement to drop the pink triangle as a symbol and take up the rainbow flag instead. The rainbow flag was created and popularized more than fifteen years before Lively's book was first published.

In 1995, Kevin and I published the first edition of “The Pink Swastika” to counter historical revisionism by the homosexual political movement, which had been attempting since the 1970s to fabricate a “gay holocaust” equivalent to that suffered by the Jews in Nazi Germany. In those days the primary symbol of the homosexual movement was the inverted pink triangle, which designated homosexuals in Nazi work camps.

Some homosexual political factions in existence in the early ’90s still use the pink triangle on a limited basis, but publication of “The Pink Swastika” succeeded in stopping that movement-wide campaign, indirectly forcing the “gays” to abandon the pink triangle as the primary symbol of their movement. (They switched to the rainbow.) They didn’t dare to continue using the pink triangle because it would have drawn attention to the damning truth we had published in “The Pink Swastika.”

On the contrary, the cover-up of the homosexual roots of Nazism is one of, if not the greatest, feats of historical revisionism the world has ever seen. The sheer volume of documentation that has been suppressed to protect the homosexual movement from its own past is staggering.

Kevin and I are now working on the fifth edition of “The Pink Swastika,” a slow process, because, believe it or not, there is still such an enormous volume of additional material that our researchers have uncovered. I am methodically working (in my spare time) through a three-foot stack of photocopied pages from at least 200 new sources. The fifth edition may be more than 500 pages long by the time we get finished with it.

Importantly, and alarmingly, claims of “The Pink Swastika,” which link homosexuality with fascism are also being proven by the emergence of a form of homo-fascism in our own society. The forced resignation of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich is the latest example, but there are many in recent years. “Gay” bullies have become the new Brownshirts (just as they were the original Brownshirts).

Mark my words, these Pinkshirts will eventually grow as violent as the Brownshirts were.

History never repeats identically; there are always variations colored by culture of the day. The cultural color of Nazi Germany was brown, but in millennial America pink is the new brown.

Scott Lively Denies Calling Obama The Antichrist, Admits He Did When Confronted With Audio Of His Comments

During Scott Lively’s interview with Michelangelo Signorile last week, the anti-gay pastor denied ever having said that President Obama is the Antichrist…until Signorile played audio captured by Right Wing Watch of Lively saying exactly that.

Last year, Lively told Rick Wiles of TruNews that the Antichrist “is heading the largest superpower of the world today,” obviously referring to Obama, who he predicted would eliminate “the debts of the world,” bring about “a peace treaty between the Palestinians and the Israelis” and establish “secular humanism” as a global religion.

Later in the Wiles interview, Lively said that gay rights will bring about the End Times and hailed Russia’s Vladimir Putin for “championing the traditional marriage and Christian values regarding the central moral issue of our time,” homosexuality.

But Lively told Signorile that he never referred to Obama as the Antichrist or Putin as a champion of right-wing Christianity: “No I didn’t say that. Oh boy, that’s quite the leap you’re making. No, I’ve never said either of those things. In terms of the Antichrist thing, we need to have a conversation about prophecy and those things for it to make any sense at all, but I did not say that Obama is the Antichrist.”

“Where are you getting this? What’s that from?,” he demanded.

But he eventually conceded that he did in fact call Obama the Antichrist after Signorile played his words back to him. “No, that’s Obama,” Lively said, but then tried to spin it as merely a “hypothetical” discussion of the End Times.

However, Lively was clearly referring to the current leader of the “largest superpower” (Obama) and even suggested that the cancellation of debts will take place in 2015.

Here is audio of Lively’s denial, and admission, from The Michelangelo Signorile Show via The New Civil Rights Movement:

Paranoia-Rama: Disney's Gay Witches, Satan's Secret Plan & Rush Limbaugh's Latest Conspiracy

RWW’s Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right.

After turning the children of America gay, it turns out that Disney’s hit film Frozen is also tricking kids into embracing witchcraft. Of course, that is just one of several anti-gay conspiracy theories we uncovered this week.

5. Gays Part Of New World Order/Freemason/Marxist Conspiracy

Religious Right pastor Scott Lively, who has played a role in influencing anti-gay laws in countries such as Uganda and Russia, explained in a recent interview that he believes the gay rights movement is a demonic, Marxist and Masonic plot to impose the New World Order.

“The whole New World Order system is a Marxist system, and there are different components of it, but the fact is that the homosexuals are the foot soldiers, they’re the main foot soldiers of this agenda,” he said.

4. Muslim-Americans Putting Republicans In ‘The Back Of The Bus’

GOP politician Lou Ann Zelenick has dedicated her career to opposing the right of Muslim residents of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to build a mosque in their town. After losing that battle, now anti-Muslim activists have moved on to fighting the planned construction of a cemetery next to the mosque.

At a recent court hearing addressing the legal challenge against the cemetery, Zelenick and her supporters snapped at a Muslim student journalist and a reporter for the local NBC affiliate.

Zelenick told the student journalist that she is “tired of having to be at the back of the bus.”

3. Frozen Turns Kids To Witchcraft

After arguing that the Disney film Frozen is turning children gay, pastor and radio host Kevin Swanson is now worried that Frozen is luring kids into witchcraft. While speaking with his co-host Steve Vaughn, who alleged that Frozen undermines faith in God, Swanson said that Frozen and other “magical tales turn out to be a means by which children are led into witchcraft.”

2. Arrests Of Democrats Are Part Of A Democratic Conspiracy

Leave it to Rush Limbaugh to claim that the arrests of three Democratic politicians on corruption charges are part of a Democratic conspiracy. Yesterday, Limbaugh said that FBI investigations into the elected officials are part of a Democratic plot to purge the party of “bad apples” before the midterm election in November: “It is entirely possible that what is going on here is that the head honchos of the Democrat party [sic] are basically behind an effort to take out all of their bad apples before the election, make them old news by the time the election comes around. The timing here is obviously curious and it really is hard to believe the FBI would be working against the wishes of the regime. Isn’t it?”

1. Satan Behind Abortion Rights, Gay Equality

According to televangelist Pat Robertson, Satan is the driving laws to protect abortion rights and legal equality for gays and lesbians as part of his attempt to wipe out the human race and “oppress” people of faith.

Robertson explained his views during a rant in which he insisted that Jesus wouldn’t have served a gay couple because the couple would have already been stoned to death.

Right Wing Round-Up - 3/27/14

Scott Lively: Gays Are Foot Soldiers in Marxist/Freemason Plot To Impose New World Order

In a lengthy interview last week with a Denver radio show, anti-gay crusader Scott Lively presented his theories that a Freemason Supreme Court justice conspired to destroy Christianity through the separation of church and state and that gay people are the “main foot soldiers” of a Marxist plot to impose a New World Order.

Lively told hosts Chris and Sheree Geo that the Supreme Court’s church/state separation decisions in Everson v. Board of Education and Torcaso v. Watkins were the “beginning of the collapse of our freedom and prosperity as a nation,” for which he blamed Justice Hugo Black, "a 33rd degree Mason, very hostile to Christianity.”

Lively went on to elaborate on his previously stated theory that gay rights are part of a Marxist plot to destroy society.

He explained that in the 1940s and the 1950s, gay people “lived discreetly and everyone was pretty happy,” but that now gay rights activists are “demanding that homosexuality be legitimized to children and to be on every television show and every aspect, sports figures coming out and that sort of thing.”

He blames this shift on the “cultural Marxists” of the 1960s. “That was all about destroying the existing order, destroying it down to ashes, so they could rebuild society according to their own socialist utopian model,” he said. “And that’s what this whole culture war is about. Its’ a conflict really between Christians and Marxists.”

He argued that gay rights advocates had brought the same Marxist plot to Africa, where along with the “big gigantic lie” of climate change, they are trying “to gut the morality of the countries and break the family system down and make the countries more pliable” in order to impose the New World Order.

“The whole New World Order system is a Marxist system, and there are different components of it, but the fact is that the homosexuals are the foot soldiers, they’re the main foot soldiers of this agenda,” he insisted.

Finally, Lively explained why he supports criminal sodomy bans like the onerecently re-imposed in India and the one currently being debated in Jamaica.

“The sodomy laws should be in place and lightly enforced,” he said. “That’s what people don’t understand. The reason you have things like sodomy criminalized is not so you can go and break down people’s doors – we hardly ever did that when we had the sodomy laws in this country – but when you have them in the law, that means that the people that are advocating those things cannot go into the schools for example and teach it to the kids, they cannot advocate criminal behavior.

“What that means is, you can allow subcultures of people who are breaking the law to do it discreetly and leave them alone. But then when they get too out of hand, you have a tool to be able to stop them.”

Scott Lively: The Mark Of The Beast Now Looks Like A Chick-Fil-A Sandwich

Of all the right-wing reactions to Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy’s quiet step back from the marriage equality debate, Scott Lively’s might just take the cake.

In a post on Matt Barber’s BarbWire today, Lively writes that although Cathy has not yet taken the “Mark of the Beast,” his decision to back out of the gay marriage debate “suggests he might be willing to take it if faced with that choice.”

“I am convinced that God is using the homosexual issue as a test of believers all over the world,” Lively continues. “What would it profit Mr. Cathy to gain the whole world (or a few more restaurants on college campuses), if his compromise of Biblical truth today makes him less able to resist the real Mark of the Beast tomorrow?”

“In my mind’s eye I used to see the Mark of the Beast as a black dot on the back of the hand,” he concludes. “Now it looks more like a Chik Fil A [sic] sandwich. I’ll never buy another one, and I hope you won’t either.”

Dan Cathy Takes the Mark of the Beast

That headline is not true. Dan Cathy of Chick Fil A has not (to my knowledge) taken the Mark of the Beast. Yet he has done something that suggests he might be willing to take it if faced with that choice, in the same way that answering a poll is an indication of how a person will vote in an election. As the Bible says in Luke 16:10, “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.”

I am convinced that God is using the homosexual issue as a test of believers all over the world. It’s like the “stress test” the central bankers are using to forecast which banks would fail in the event of an economic collapse. Except in this case God is testing us for what we will do in the coming moral and spiritual collapse. The Bible hasn’t changed, only the culture has changed, and believers are being “stress tested” to see whether they stand with Him or with the world on the things He says are true but which the world is pressing very hard to declare false.

The good thing about a stress test is that it gives people an opportunity to change their ways (repent) before the final exam or the big crash. God doesn’t care about Chick Fil A’s profit margins if they come at the expense of Dan Cathy’s willingness to stand up for the truth under pressure. What would it profit Mr. Cathy to gain the whole world (or a few more restaurants on college campuses), if his compromise of Biblical truth today makes him less able to resist the real Mark of the Beast tomorrow?

I’m not saying that Dan Cathy isn’t saved, but he has certainly failed the stress test, and failed the Bible-believing Christian remnant everywhere, by surrendering to the “gay” bullies. How long before we see Chick Fil A running “gay”-friendly commercials as penance for Cathy‘s “homophobia?”

There are varying theological views about what the Mark of the Beast is, or will be, and which ones among us will face that choice of taking or rejecting it. Nevertheless, it stands as a symbol to all Christians everywhere as the choice for or against Christ when the sword is on your neck and to choose Christ means to die saved, or live condemned to hell. The stress test of pressure from “gay” bullies is not life or death, but it is an indicator of whether you have the faith and courage to choose Him over the things of this world. In my mind’s eye I used to see the Mark of the Beast as a black dot on the back of the hand. Now it looks more like a Chik Fil A sandwich. I’ll never buy another one, and I hope you won’t either.

Lively: A Revolution Is Coming Because People Are 'Fed Up' With The Lawless 'Homosexual Agenda'

Scott Lively was a guest on Bryan Fischer's radio program yesterday to discuss his campaign for governor in Massachusetts but, of course, most of the interview revolved around Fischer's and Lively's mutual battle against the "homosexual agenda."

Lively asserted that America will soon undergo both a secular revolution and a simultaneous Christian revival because people are "fed up" with the "lawlessness" that is "exemplified by the homosexual agenda."

"Homosexuality always is used a symbol of extreme rebellion against God, on the verge of judgment," Lively said. "And that's where we are now in our country. It's a powder keg and I think we're going to see some real explosive changes are going to take place":

Scott Lively Blames Gays For Ukraine Crisis, Lauds Russia As Human Rights Leader Of The World

Anti-gay pastor Scott Lively is standing with Russian president Vladimir Putin in the Ukraine crisis, hailing Putin’s government for cracking down on LGBT rights and becoming a “defender of true human rights.”

Writing today in WorldNetDaily, Lively said that LGBT equality in the US is destroying the Constitution and the rule of law, creating “special rights for favored groups” and putting America “in a death spiral of moral and ethical degeneracy.”

In contrast, he writes, Russia “has begun embracing Christian values regarding family issues.”

“And this is why the greatest point of conflict between the U.S. and Russia is the question of homosexuality (I believe even the conflict in Ukraine is being driven to a large extent by this issue, at least on the part of the Obama State Department and the homosexualist leaders of the EU.),” Lively writes.

It is therefore obvious why America is in decline and Russia is on the ascendancy in the matter of human rights. America has largely turned her back on God, reorganized her government and culture on a statist model and is plummeting in a death spiral of moral and ethical degeneracy. As our collective former (Bible-based) values of self-restraint and personal responsibility steadily decline, external controls and surveillance by the new police state increase. The rule of law becomes the rule of man, and equal justice under law becomes special rights for favored groups.

Conversely, Russia has begun embracing Christian values regarding family issues, albeit imperfectly, in stark contrast to its aggressively godless Soviet past. Repression in Russia is decreasing as rapidly as it is increasing in the U.S.

The crux of the human-rights debate is what it means to be human. Russia appears to be returning to its pre-Soviet understanding that humans are made in the image of God, and that our “rights” are really duties of respect and care for each other imposed on us by Him. This is why the first principle of both the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights is the protection of the Christian church, from which the very concept of modern human rights emerged. And this is why the greatest point of conflict between the U.S. and Russia is the question of homosexuality. (I believe even the conflict in Ukraine is being driven to a large extent by this issue, at least on the part of the Obama State Department and the homosexualist leaders of the EU.)

There is no human right to sodomy to be found in nearly 4,000 years of human-rights jurisprudence. It is an invention of Cultural Marxists in the late 20th century and rests on their dangerous premise that the state, not God, grants us our rights. In fact, the “right” to sodomy is really an anti-right, because it can only be granted at the expense of the true human rights of religious freedom and family values. Thus, the first principle of the Magna Carta stood unbreakable in Britain for almost 800 years until the recent introduction of “sexual orientation regulations” (SORs), and the first principle of the First Amendment stood for over 200 years until SORs were passed here in the United States.

Today, both the Magna Carta and the First Amendment are deemed to be trumped by the “right to sodomy” in case after case, and pro-homosexual activist federal judges in the U.S. are striking down “Defense of Marriage” laws in the most morally conservative states in the union with brazen disregard for the Constitution and the will of the people.

I ask you, which is the greater threat to human rights: Russia’s law preventing homosexual activists from disseminating their propaganda to children, or the lawless decrees of these American federal judges? I submit that the former is not a threat at all, but a reaffirmation of true human rights (in that case the right of parents to raise their children according to their own values), while the latter is an egregious affront to liberty and an undermining of respect for the rule of law, which endangers all human rights.

Russia has a long way to go even to meet today’s tarnished standards in America, but if current trends hold, Russia will eventually supplant the U.S. as the greater defender of true human rights. Unfortunately, at the pace that our country is falling, that day may not be far off.

Paranoia-Rama: Obama's Homo Demons, President Satan & Arizona Penis Cakes

RWW’s Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right.

Just as Ted Nugent isn’t actually sorry for calling President Obama a “subhuman mongrel,” the National Rifle Association board member and Republican surrogate also isn’t backing down from his statements likening President Obama to the Nazis.

When conservative talk show host Dennis Miller told Nugent he didn’t buy his Nazi comparison, Nugent insisted that the president is using the IRS and the health care reform law to spark a race war “like the brownshirts.” Media Matters grabbed the clip:

The Trinity Broadcasting Network considers Kim Clement a prophet, and so should you! The TBN host recently prophesied that Satan will “put a witch in the White House” who will advance the demonic spirit of “Jezebel,” and can only be stopped by a socialism-slaying politician.

3) Penis Cakes On The Way

Tea Party Nation head Judson Phillips is aggrieved that Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed her state’s ‘right-to-discriminate’ bill, a decision which he believes will lead to “tyranny,” “fascism” and “slavery.” In fact, he believes that bakers will now be forced to bake penis cakes:

Should a devote baker be required to create a cake for a homosexual wedding that has a giant phallic symbol on it or should a baker be required to create pastries for a homosexual wedding in the shape of genitallia [sic]? Or should a photographer be required to photograph a homosexual wedding where the participants decide they want to be nude or engage in sexual behavior?

We’re not sure what sort of weddings Phillips is used to attending, but we wish we had been invited.

2) The World Has Gone Gay

Scott Lively has been on a roll lately after launching a new anti-gay group, insisting that his fight against gay rights is literally a life-or-death battle against Satan. During an interview with Janet Mefferd where he explained why he believes LGBT equality is triggering the coming of the End Times, Lively said that there should be a “revolution” to defeat the socialist “conspiracy” aimed at “homosexualizing the whole world.”

1) Beware Obama’s ‘Homo Demons’

Far-far-right pastor James David Manning is at it again, this time hailing anti-gay leaders in Uganda, Gambia and Nigeria for resisting “this son of Satan Barack Hussein Obama” and his “anti-integrity, anti-life, anti-humanity, anti-universal understanding, anti-DNA” gay rights agenda.

Manning said that the decisions of Jason Collins and Michael Sam to come out of the closet are proof that “Obama has released these demons particularly upon the black males, this homosexual demon, hoping to influence as many black males to subscribe to ideas that are [as] homosexual, perverted, LGBT as possible.”

“Obama has released the homo demons on the black man; look out black woman, a white homo may take your man.” He said that under Obama’s direction, black men “are being scooped up by white homos,” thus destroying the black family.

The white homo is now moving into the black neighborhoods, looking for black men that have been converted into homosexuality. Black woman let me say something to you: You will have a very hard time competing against a white homosexual male, he’s usually got money, a white homo usually has an American Express card, he usually has an opportunity at the theatre, homos love the theatre, they love to go out to dinner parties, they love that kind of a thing. As a black woman you can’t compete not only with the financial strength of a white homo, black sister, this is devastating, black people need to rise up en masse and recognize the utter destruction that Obama is going in to destroy the black family with his homosexual statements and release of demons that he has done.

Lively: Gays To Fault For Modern Divorce Rate, Gay Marriage Will Lead to Legalized Pedophilia In Five Years

Massachusetts pastor Scott Lively joined Dublin radio host Niall Boylan yesterday to discuss Uganda’s passage of a harsh new anti-gay law. The two engaged in an hour-long shouting match, in which Lively accused the gay community of a Marxist plot to “destroy civilization,” insisted that women should be subservient to their husbands, and claimed that marriage equality in Ireland would lead to legalized pedophilia within five years.

Early in the interview, Boylan asked Lively if he was “accusing the gay community of trying to destroy family values,” to which Lively replied, “I am.”

Lively faulted the gay rights movement following the Stonewall riot for shifting its focus “from asking for tolerance to demanding the ability and power to transform all of society in their own image and to take their model of sexual anarchy into the mainstream,” which he described as part of a Marxist plot to “break down the nuclear family” and with the purpose of destroying society.

Later in the interview, Lively blamed the high divorce rate among heterosexuals on the gay rights movement: “That’s because, in the 1960s, the gay model of sexual anarchy was introduced and the heterosexuals adopted the gay model.”

Boylan: You’re accusing the gay community of trying to destroy family values, is that what you’re trying to say?

Lively: I am. And you know, this comes out of…this is straight out of Herbert Marcuse and the Frankfurt school of cultural Marxists. Marxism has always been about destroying civilization so they can rebuild on the ashes their utopian socialist society, which is just a fantasy. But they had an actual strategy, and that strategy was in three parts. And the primary part was to break down the nuclear family. And in the United States, where they implemented this, that’s what they taught.

Now, the original gay movement in the U.S., back that was getting started in the late 1940s, their original goal, articulated by Dale Jennings of the Mattachine Society was quote, ‘The right to be left alone.’ I always supported that. In 1968, with the Stonewall riot on Christopher Street in New York City, they shifted their focus from tolerance, from asking for tolerance, to demanding the ability and the power to transform all of society in their own image and to take their model of sexual anarchy into the mainstream.

The idea that heterosexuals now have a dramatically higher divorce rate, that’s true. That’s because, in the 1960s, the gay model of sexual anarchy was introduced and the heterosexuals adopted the gay model. That’s what’s going on.

Later in the interview, Lively said that “if we actually followed what God instructed us to do,” we wouldn’t have “the problems that we’re dealing with in our society today.” When Boylan asked him if that included the biblical view that women should be subservient to their husbands, Lively responded, “Well, I believe that God did create and order. That Christ is the head of the man, the man is the head of the wife, and families that follow that model have beautiful, wonderful lives.”

When pressed, he clarified, “The Biblical model of men and women, husbands and wives, is not master and servant. It’s president and vice president.”

Lively: I believe the Bible, I live by the Bible, I believe that the problems that we’re dealing with in our society today, if we actually followed what God instructed us to do, we wouldn’t have these problems.

Boylan: So, if men turned around and believed that women were subservient, for example, because that’s what the Bible tells men to believe. Do you think we’d have a good society?

Lively: Well, I believe that God did create and order. That Christ is the head of the man, the man is the head of the wife, and families that follow that model have beautiful, wonderful lives.

Boylan: How do you think modern society would work? So, do you think modern society could still work like that? With women of this world who now have, thankfully, careers and rights and they can vote. You believe that they should still be subservient to men?

Lively: See, once again, you’re talking about terminology. When I say ‘submission,’ I don’t mean subservience. The Biblical model of men and women, husbands and wives, is not master and servant. It’s president and vice president. Right? That’s how it works.

Near the end of the interview, Lively launched into the slippery slope argument that legalizing marriage equality will “open the door to lots of other deviant sexual conduct,” like “polygamy, polyamory, incest, pederasty, even pedophilia.”

“You’re not suggesting that if we vote yes for same-sex marriage that in 20 years’ time the world will become so liberal that we will allow people to have sex and marry twelve-year-olds,” Boylan said.

“It won’t be twenty years, it will be five years,” Lively responded.

Lively apparently hasn’t noticed that ten years after his home state of Massachusetts legalized same-sex marriage, pedophilia is still illegal.

  • FRC says that by vetoing Arizona's gay discrimination bill, Gov. Jan Brewer "is saying she supports government discrimination against people's religious freedoms."
  • Speaking of FRC, they are urging activists to pray against gay marriage: "Lord, intervene to prevent evil from overcoming what you have forever declared to be good! Help the U.S. Senate to pass the State Marriage Defense Act (S. 2024) to protect each state's right to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman and prevent the federal government from undermining a state's definition of marriage."
  • Robert Knight says that it is "the lack of negative reporting on Hillary Clinton and her high visibility is a reason she still polls high."
  • Scott Lively says that "from the inability to distinguish disagreement from 'hate' or tolerance from approval, to conflating sex and love, homosexualists (i.e. anyone 'gay' or straight who advocates for the mainstreaming of homosexuality) just can’t think straight."
  • Finally, Religious Right activists will start running this ad about Justina Pelletier on Fox News beginning tomorrow.

Lively Defends Anti-Gay Criminalization Laws: 'The Gay Movement Has Brought This On Themselves'

Yesterday, anti-gay pastor Scott Lively told Religious Right radio host Janet Mefferd that there is a Satanic, socialist “conspiracy” to “homosexualize the world” that can only be stopped by a “revolution.”

Lively didn’t discuss this supposed gay-demonic conspiracy during his appearance today on NPR, but he didn’t exactly tone down his rhetoric either.

Speaking with NPR’s Michel Martin, Lively defended Uganda’s harsh new anti-gay law, arguing that the “gay movement has really brought this on themselves” and that the law is necessary to stop pedophiles.

When confronted with remarks made by a gay Ugandan activist Frank Mugisha about how anti-gay bias affects his daily life, Lively insisted that Mugisha is the real victim.

Anti-gay crusader and Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Scott Lively was a guest on the The Alan Colmes Show yesterday, where he attempted to explain why “homosexuality is a behavioral disorder on par with alcoholism or eating disorders.” Lively told Colmes that “homosexual conduct is inherently wrong and dangerous and harmful” because “it’s using parts of the body in ways they’re not supposed to be used.” When Colmes asked him “who says” that LGBT people use their bodies “in ways they’re not supposed to,”... Anti-gay activist Scott Lively announces in a column in WorldNetDaily today that he is working on a new edition of ‘The Pink Swastika,’ his book claiming that gay men were behind the Holocaust. In 'The Pink Swastika,' he argues that a secret gay cabal was plotting against the Jewish people for centuries in order to seek “vengeance against the people whose moral laws had relegated pagan homo-occultism to obscurity and ignominy.” Lively hooks his announcement to the resignation of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, from which he concludes that “'gay...
