Klingenschmitt: 'American Law Needs To Reflect God's Law'

A large portion of "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt's most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program was dedicated to replaying an interview he recently gave to Alan Colmes over his assertion that gays ought to be discriminated against.

After having played the entire interview, Klingenschmitt commented that he and Colmes disagree on the role that the Bible should play in our public policy, with Klingenschmitt saying that "American law needs to reflect God's law."

If it does not, Klingenschmitt warned, "American law is telling some people, oh this is really legal, when it's actually illegal under God's law ... [and that] does a disservice even to the homosexual community who will face that on Judgment Day":

A Lesson For 'Dr. Chaps' On How The Internet Works

Over the last week or so, we have written several posts featuring statements that have been made by "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt on his daily "Pray In Jesus Name" program and elsewhere, including one in which he asserted that Texas state Senator Wendy Davis is "ruled by a demon of murder" and ought to be prosecuted.

As we generally do, we uploaded that video to YouTube so we can embed it in our post and so others can do the same.  Of course, since this is the internet, things posted on it sometimes attract unfriendly and unpleasant comments ... but according to a statement put out by Klingenschmitt on Friday, we are going to be held criminally liable for a few random comments left by completely anonymous users on one of the internet's most popular and heavily trafficked sites because, by failing to remove them, we are now supposedly encouraging "the assassination of pro-life Christian leaders":

In their most recent post on YouTube.com, RWW plagiarized (without consent) and posted (using their own web-site logo) part of an original PIJN NEWS television broadcast created and copyrighted by Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, PhD, in which he criticized a pro-abortion Texas legislator. Within 24 hours, six anti-Christian followers of RWW published written death threats against the chaplain on RWW's youtube page.

Three of those posts, still active on YouTube as of 16 Aug, call upon RWW's followers to kill Chaplain Klingenschmitt:
1.       can we murder this fu**
2.       I don't think he's a fetus. So yeah, you could murder him and still be pro-life.
3.       Another white a** cracker pu*** that needs a .45 Caliber renovation.

Three other followers of RWW stated they wished the Chaplain would die, or had been murdered by an abortionist, or praised the demon of murder.
4.       What a pathetic little bi***. Can't wail till these people die out.
5.       Don't diss the "deamon of murder", I've met him. He's not a bad guy.
6.       This guy is a sh** person and would have been better if he was aborted.

The Chaplain takes these death threats seriously, and has notified the F.B.I. and YouTube. He said, "Sadly, Right Wing Watch fails to watch themselves, or censor death threats from their blog, making them an accessory after the fact. I asked RWW to delete their death threats, but so far they refuse, which makes me believe their blogger Kyle Mantyla and his supervisors at People for the American Way (including President Michael B. Keegan and Chairman Lara Bergthold) now encourage the assassination of pro-life Christian leaders. If such fate should befall me or anyone in my family, I hold RWW immediately responsible, yet I do pray that God will show mercy upon those who hate Christians, and soften their hearts to repent, so the Lord Jesus Christ will forgive their sins. I return their curses with a sincere prayer that God will bless them and save them from their sins and demons, in Jesus' name, Amen."

The fact that Klingenschmitt thinks that our fair use of clips from his program is "plagiarism" gives you a sense of just what sort of legal scholar we are dealing with, so it is no surprise that he also thinks that we are somehow responsible for random comments posted on YouTube.

So imagine our joy when "Dr. Chaps" took his tale of intimidation straight over to Rick Wiles' End Times radio program on Friday afternoon where Klingenschmitt threatened that he was going "to file conspiracy after the fact" charges against us - whatever that is supposed to mean - while Wiles openly asserted that we are intentionally hoping to get people killed:

Klingenschmitt: I have received six death threats in the last twenty four hours from followers of Right Wing Watch, which is a subset of People For the American Way, which was I think started by Norman Lear and a lot of communist funding went into that.

But when they attack you, when they attack me, they don't police themselves.  It's funny how Right Wing Watch doesn't watch their own followers because their own followers now - the conversation on their YouTube page began something like this: 'well, I wish that Chaplain Klingenschmitt had been aborted' and then this other guy said 'can we kill him?,' no, this other guy said 'I can't wait for him to die,' and then another guy said 'can we murder him?' And then someone responded 'yes, we can murder him' and then someone else responded 'he needs a .45 caliber renovation.'

Wiles: This is on the website of Right Wing Watch?

Klingenschmitt: It is.

Wiles: This is on the comments section.  They're always accusing conservatives and Christians of being hatemongers, but the Right Wing Watch and the Southern Poverty Law Center, these are the real hatemongers and they are deliberately trying to get somebody murdered.

Klingenschmitt: I left a message with the FBI and then I left messages [with PFAW and they] still have not removed the blogs, so now I'm back on the phone with the FBI this afternoon.  If we need to, we're going to file conspiracy after the fact or accessory after the fact criminal charges against these leaders because even though they know about it, they're doing nothing to constrain these death threats when are on their site threatening to kill me with a .45 caliber weapon.

...

Wiles: What these communist groups are doing is that they are fomenting such vehement hate against Christians that they really are hoping that somebody will go off their rocker and kill one of them.  That's really what these people are trying to do.

Obviously, these comments are not posted here on Right Wing Watch, as both Chaps and Wiles repeatedly asserted, since we don't have comments on this blog! The comments were posted by anonymous viewers on YouTube, which is a forum that we do not moderate or generally even read and for which we most certainly are not responsible.

But if "Dr. Chaps" wants to waste tens of thousands of dollars attempting to hold us criminally responsbile for random comments left by strangers on the internet, we wish him the best of luck.

Klingenschmitt: Obama Creating Atheist Military to Attack Christians

Once again warning of imminent “government persecution” of Christians, “Dr. Chaps” Gordon Klingenschmitt told Dove TV that the Obama administration is bent on driving Christians out of the Armed Forces in order to create an all-atheist military.

The “atheist left,” Klingenschmitt claims, wants to “get rid of all the Christians in the military so they can take over. Now we see the Obama administration is stockpiling armored personnel carriers, and the Department of Homeland Security [has] billions of rounds of ammunition; who are they going to use that against? If there’s no Christians serving in the government, eventually that is all going to be turned against us.”

“Don’t think that can’t happen,” he cautioned, telling Christians to expect increasing “persecution.”

Watch:

Klingenschmitt: Wendy Davis Is 'Ruled By A Demon Of Murder' And Should Be Prosecuted

As we noted just yesterday, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt tends to see demonic spirits behind just about everything, including Texas state Senator Wendy Davis' support for reproductive choice and her possible run for governor.

On today's "Pray In Jesus Name" show, "Dr. Chaps" said that Davis, an attorney, is not qualified to serve as Governor of Texas because she is "ruled by a demon of murder" and that she should, in fact, "be prosecuted herself, probably for having facilitated so many abortions in her own state":

Klingenschmitt: A Demonic Spirit of Tyranny Is Using Obama To Oppress Us

Every day on his "Pray in Jesus Name" program, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt seeks to do three things: "we report the news, we discern the spirits, and we pray the Scriptures in Jesus name."

Since "discerning the spirits" is a central component of his program, it is not a surprise that he sees demonic spirits behind just about everything ... including the NSA surveillance program and President Obama's defense of it.

As "Dr. Chaps" explained today, there is a "Satanic, evil spirit" of "hiding" and "secrecy" that is behind the NSA program, just as there is a demon of tyranny that is using President Obama to oppress Americans.

"Father in Heaven, we pray against the domestic enemies of the Constitution," Klingenschmitt proclaimed; "against the demon of tyranny who is using the White House occupant and that demonic spirit is oppressing us":

Klingenschmitt: Jesus Will 'Strike Down The Sodomites And Throw Them Into Hell'

On the most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt took issue with a threat by a gay couple to sue the Church of England for the right to get married there following the legalization of gay marriage in that country last month.

Klingenschmitt said that even if a court orders the church to allow the ceremony, God will never bless the marriage, saying that "God is going to withhold his blessing from sodomy because God has defined that as sin."

Klingenschmitt went on to add that one day "Jesus will come back and rule. In fact, he'll strike down the judge, he'll strike down the law in Britain, he'll strike down the sodomites and throw them into Hell":

Klingenschmitt: What Gays Do Behind Closed Doors Is Not Love, It's Lawlessness

On today's "Pray In Jesus Name" program, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt voiced his outrage that California's anti-gay Proposition 8 was not being enforced, declaring that there was a demonic spirit of lawlessness inside of government officials who are refusing to enforce it.

There is also a spirit of a lawlessness in gays in general, Klingenschmitt asserted, because they are violating God's law. "Lust is not love," he said, "and whatever they're doing behind closed doors is not love in the homosexuality community. It is lawlessness."

He then went on to pray that God would enforce His law so that it will be established "and will ban sodomy" in America, because "it is a perversion and it is not love at all":

Klingenschmitt: 'Sell Your Clothes And Buy A Gun'

On his most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt cited a claim by a retired Army captain that the government was stockpiling weapons and ammunition for use against American citizens to warn his audience to sell their clothes to buy weapons to protect themselves from the coming government persecution ... because that is what Jesus would recommend.

"I think Jesus would favor the Second Amendment," Klingenschmitt said, pointing to a passage in Luke where Jesus tells his disciples to sell their cloaks to buy a sword.

Of course, according to the Book of Matthew, when Jesus was later arrested, he told his disciples to put their swords away because "all who draw the sword will die by the sword." But Chaps isn't concerned about that teaching, instead telling his audience that "as a Christian chaplain, sell your clothes and buy a gun. It's time. The government persecution will be coming against you and you need to arm yourselves and defend your family when that time comes":

Klingenschmitt: If You Are Gay, 'Then You Should Be Discriminated Against'

On his most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt added his voice to the never-ending Religious Right outrage over a proposed San Antonio anti-discrimination ordinance that would supposedly ban Christians for serving in public office or in any way working for the city.

It is all nonsense, of course, but that didn't stop Chaps from attacking the proposal by saying that gays should be discriminated against ... and citing Martin Luther King to prove it.

Klingenschmitt's line of reasoning was so convoluted that even he couldn't understand it, as he cited MLK's famous "judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character" line to assert that "if your heart is full of corruption or sin or immorality - in this case, homosexuality - then you should be discriminated against."

But then, seeming to realize that the argument he was making that discrimination based on character is justified could just as easily be used against people who are anti-gay, Klingenschmitt ended up tying himself in knots:

"When these confusing statutes now try to redefine discrimination and say that you can no longer discriminate against character ... that anyone who discriminates against character is guilty of discrimination and therefore ought to be discriminated against, they're actually saying Martin Luther King himself ought to be punished for his views, and that's not right."

Klingenschmitt: Gay Marriage Increases Inflation and Undermines National Security

When former chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt appeared on The David Pakman Show, he was unable to come up with a single way how the legalization of gay marriage in some states has had an impact on his marriage to his wife. Klingenschmitt yesterday emailed members of the Pray In Jesus Name Project to claim that he has actually found seven ways that marriage equality hurt his family.

The supposed harms of same-sex marriage on his family include that marriage equality “hurt our national security and therefore our family's safety by de-funding benefits given to straight couples or weapon systems and re-distributing those Pentagon dollars to gay ‘married’ couples,” “de-valued by inflation our dollars in our family’s bank accounts” and is “depriving us of a sacred worship space.”

Here are 7 ways the homosexualization of "marriage" has de-valued the traditional marriages of all Christian families, including my own:

1. It has made our traditional marriage less valuable in the eyes of the state.

2. It has forced Christian couples to pay more taxes to make up for the homosexual "bonus pay" now issued by as tax-benefits given to gay "married" couples.

3. It has de-valued by inflation our dollars in our family's bank accounts by increasing the national debt to pay for more government benefits for gay "married" couples, for which the Fed must print new dollars to pay such debt.

4. It has taken away the rights of Christian couples and Catholic charities to foster or adopt children in states like Massachusetts, as my friend Amy Contrada proves here.

5. It has hurt our national security and therefore our family's safety by de-funding benefits given to straight couples or weapon systems and re-distributing those Pentagon dollars to gay "married" couples.

6. It has hurt our ability to worship Almighty God in a Christian chapel building whose altar has been desecrated by homosexual "weddings" depriving us of a sacred worship space.

7. It has threatened our family's religious freedom in countless ways, as I explain here.

If I thought about it more, I'm sure I could develop a longer list. But the fact is, yes David, my own marriage has been adversely impacted (as I said twice on your show), and yet my love for my wife and my relationship with her remains faithful and unchanged.

I met several Congressmen last week in DC, and although they are discouraged, they are not ready to quit. But they must hear from us, that we still care about traditional marriage. Let's send Congress a message today. Demand a Constitutional Marriage Amendment.

Right Wing Leftovers - 7/31/13

  • It is going to be fascinating to watch Glenn Beck, who thinks that David Barton is a great historian, try to take down Reza Aslan and his new book about Jesus.
  • Bryan Fischer says that President Obama is working to destroy America by intentionally weakening the military.
  • Janet Porter is out with a new video that has the top-notch production values we have come to expect from her.
  • Tony Perkins, Brent Bozell, and hundreds of other "conservative and Tea Party leaders are demanding that major news media outlets end their virtual blackout on the IRS targeting scandal."
  • Finally, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt says that, because of hates crimes legislation, it is now illegal to quote passages from the Bible that condemn homosexuality.  Of course, Chaps quoted those very passages in the video and has not been arrested, which pretty much proves that his entire claim is ridiculously false.

Solomon: Atheist Chaplains Would Encourage Soldiers To Kill Themselves

An effort to create positions for atheist chaplains to serve in the military is one that is welcome by former Navy Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt, who was the guest on the "Talk To Solomon" program recently to discuss the issue.

The whole thing really did not sit well with host Stan Solomon, who said that atheism is "basically sticking your head up your butt and wondering why it's dark" and said that being an atheist chaplain is like being "a sensitive cannibal who says grace before he chews your leg off."

After Klingenschmitt claimed there was no need for atheist chaplains in the military and the whole thing is really just a way to undermine the Christian chaplains and reduce our numbers," Solomon asserted that it was all a part of the effort to implement President Obama's health care policy by encouraging wounded soldiers to kill themselves.

"An atheist chaplain," Solomon declared, "would be the perfect vehicle for convincing wounded warriors that they should end their lives because there's nothing in the future and there's nothing now, so why not just save money and kill themselves":

Klingenschmitt: 'The Demonic Spirits Inside The Homosexual Agenda' Are Trying To Recruit Your Kids

On his most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" show, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt called for the passage of a Federal Marriage Amendment to overturn the recent Supreme Court decisions on DOMA and Prop 8.

Saying that he had recently met with Rep. Tim Huelskamp, who has introduced just such an amendment, Klingenschmitt warned that "the demonic spirits inside the homosexual agenda" are attempting to "homosexualize and recruit your children" before declaring that even if they had all of eternity, gay activists will never be able to define marriage in any way other than how it was established by God.

"You know what, Satan? You have not won this battle," Klingenschmitt proclaimed. "Your time is limited and, in the long run, Jesus Christ will rule and reign on this earth and define marriage between one man and one woman.  It's inevitable":

Klingenschmitt Issues Imprecatory Prayer Against 'Enemies Of The Constitution'

On his most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt seized upon the story of a member of the Utah Air National Guard who was supposedly reprimanded for writing an email objecting to a gay wedding that had taken place at the chapel at West Point.

Klingenschmitt was likewise outraged, demanding to know why Christians in the military were not allowed to take a stand and declare that a "Christian place of worship should not be desecrated by acts of sodomy that are consecrated on Saturday which deprive all of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines of a sacred worship space on Sunday."

Klingenschmitt then went on a issue an imprecatory prayer based on the Book of Psalms in which he declared that "we oppose the enemies of the Constitution who hate religious liberty" while calling upon God to strike them on the jaw and break their teeth:

Right Wing Leftovers - 7/18/13

  • It looks like Rand Paul's "Southern Avenger" was trying to cover his tracks.
  • Erik Rush explains that President Obama's communist Chicago political machine/criminal enterprise  was responsible for ginning up racial strife over the Trayvon Martin killing.
  • "Dr. Chaps" is out with his latest incoherent one minute prayer video.
  • It looks like FRC's prayers that God will stop the confirmations of Thomas Perez and Samantha Power are not working very well.
  • Finally, Cindy Jacobs has some common sense advice for fledgling generals of intercession, reminding them to always bind the demonic spirits attached to the other passengers on an airplane:

Klingenschmitt: Justice Kennedy's DOMA Decision Is 'Blasphemy'

"Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt is predictably dismayed by the Supreme Court decision, written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, striking down a key section of the Defense of Marriage Act, declaring that in striking down the legislation, the Court majority has ruled that Christians are evil.

Asserting that Jesus was inside the hearts of those in Congress who passed DOMA (and the Holy Spirit was inside President Bill Clinton when he signed it,) Klingenschmitt said that with this ruling, Kennedy looked into the hearts of those responsible for this law and declared that they had "an evil motive."

"He's looking at Jesus in us and calling him evil," Klingenschmitt fumed. "He's looking at the Holy Spirit in us and calling it a demon.  Justice Kennedy, you are full of blasphemy":

Right Wing Leftovers - 6/21/13

  • Frank Pavone is demanding that Nancy Pelosi renounce her Catholicism.
  • Not surprisingly, Matt Slick of the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry asserts that his recent appearance on "The Daily Show" was wildly manipulated and dishonestly edited.
  • Glenn Beck and his Black Robe Regiment are planning on launching coordinated efforts to "jam the system."
  • We have no idea why "Dr. Chaps" thinks this is important or how it would even make a difference.
  • Finally, "Coach" Dave Daubenmire is telling his viewers that they had better be ready and willing to end up in jail.

Right Wing Leftovers - 6/18/13

  • For some reason, Josh Duggar has been named Executive Director of FRC Action.
  • We should probably be prepared to hear a lot from Louisiana State Sen. Elbert Guillory as he seems to be the Right's newest hero.
  • It is becoming increasingly obvious that "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt literlly has no idea what he is talking about most of the time.
  • Glenn Beck had been teasing that Sen. Mike Lee was going to reveal that Chief Justice John Roberts had been "intimidated" into changing his vote on health care reform but the scoop was a total bust.
  • Speaking of Beck, good luck trying to follow this explanation of how the nation needs to be governed by God's law even if it is not turned into legislation but the social contract can never violate God's law ... or something:

Klingenschmitt: ENDA Promotes Bestiality & There Is a 'Demonic Spirit Inside of [Sen.] Jeff Merkley'

On the most recent episode of his "Pray In Jesus' Name" show, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt expanded on his warning that passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act would be "the end of the world for Christian employers" by declaring that ENDA would require them to hire people who practice bestiality.

Claiming that since the legislation does not explicitly define what it covered by its language banning employment discrimination based on "perceived sexual orientation," then bestiality must be covered, Klingenschmitt warned that "the government is promoting a law that contradicts God's highest law" and that there is a "demonic spirit inside of [Sen.] Jeff Merkley" who is co-sponsoring the legislation:

Klingenschmitt Stands By Report He Knows to be False

Last week, we wrote a post noting that "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt had used a debunked story of high school runner who was supposedly disqualified from a race after thanking God as the topic of his one minute prayer update, as well as a segment on his "Pray In Jesus Name Show" in which he blamed the incident on demonic possession.

As we pointed out, the student in question and his family both acknowledged that the allegations that he had been disqualified for exercising his Christian faith were entirely false.

But that hasn't prompted Klingenschmitt to remove the videos or ever correct the record.  In fact, Klingenschmitt says he stands by the false claims and has even updated the description of his video to defend it:

We stand by the track story, which was originally confirmed by the parents as a "religious" gesture here: http://www.wfaa.com/home/205794321.html The fact the kid later (under tremendous pressure) declined to file charges does not mean the referee's motive was not suspect and anti-religious. Pointing to God is an act of gratitude, not disrespect, and should not be punished as disrespectful.

The story Klingenschmitt cites was entirely debunked several days later ... but Klingenschmitt says that he continues to "stand by" it even though everyone directly involved in it admits that it was false.

Two weeks ago, the Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from a New Mexico photography studio that had refused to photograph a same-sex commitment ceremony but, for some reason, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt was still praying that the Court would agree to hear the case on the Friday broadcast of his "Pray In Jesus Name" program. During his discussion of the case, Klingenschmitt complained that non-discrimination laws actually result in discrimination against Christians and that somehow resulted in him railing about ENDA yet again as he warned that the law, if passed... Gordon Klingenschmitt, the GOP politician and gay exorcist who believes that the Employment Non-Discrimination Act is a demonic plot to make Christians “starve to death” and “participate in sodomy,” yesterday pointed to 2011 OPM guidelines on transgender personnel as proof that “Obama has now gone to full perversion as a matter of policy.” In an email to members of his Pray In Jesus Name Project, Klingenschmitt said that job protections for transgender employees will “violate the privacy rights of all women and little girls, exposing them... In honor of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s Day of Silence today – an annual event meant to draw attention to the “silencing effects” of anti-gay harassment and name-calling in schools – Right Wing Watch is re-releasing a collection of some of the most troubling recent claims from the Religious Right about safe schools initiatives. Relying on harmful myths depicting LGBT people as abusive and “perverse,” it is clear from these examples that the Religious Right is far more interested in pushing homophobic lies than in protecting and... On his "Pray In Jesus Name" program today, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt quizzed his viewers on when life begins. Does it begin, he asked, when a heartbeat can be detected? Or perhaps somewhere around 22-24 weeks when a fetus is able to survive outside of the womb? Or maybe it begins at the moment of conception? But it was a trick question, Klingenschmitt revealed, and all of those answers were wrong because life actually begins before conception "in the mind and heart of God": MORE >

Gordon Klingenschmitt is responding to the Hobby Lobby case at the Supreme Court by warning that President Obama is forcing Christians to kill children as part of “a spiritual war to save or destroy unborn babies and the elderly.” “How dare President Obama order Christians to kill children? Last year, extremist pastor Gordon “Dr. Chaps” Klingenschmitt announced that he was running for a seat in the Colorado state legislature and his campaign took a step forward last weekend when he dominated a Colorado GOP caucus, where he received over seventy percent of the vote. Unfortunately for Chaps, he doesn't have the GOP nomination sewn up quite yet, as he still may face a primary opponent: Gordon Klingenschmitt won the favor of the delegates with 71 percent of the vote, preventing two other candidates nominated from hitting the 30 percent threshold.
