Ben Carson Set To Join Pastor Who Wants Gays Put To Death At Iowa Conference

Update (8/25): The website has since labeled Carson as only an invited speaker.

Later this year, far-right Colorado radio host and homeschooling activist Kevin Swanson will be attempting to expand his national profile by organizing a “National Religious Liberties Conference” in Des Moines, Iowa.

Since Swanson believes that homosexuality should be punished by death and frequently claims that liberals are using things like the movie Frozen and Girl Scout cookies to make children gay, we hoped that even this year’s field of Republican presidential candidates would think twice before showing up at his conference.

But apparently that was too much to ask.

Steve Deace, a conservative Iowa radio host who frequently interviews GOP presidential candidates and is scheduled to speak at Swanson’s conference, spoke with Swanson about the conference last week and announced just that Ben Carson has already agreed to attend the event and that “Bobby Jindal is planning on being there.”

Deace’s statement followed a warning from Swanson that millions of American Christians will soon end up in prison because of advances in gay rights.

Indeed, the conference website lists Carson as a confirmed speaker.

We contacted the Carson campaign for comment but have yet to hear back.

As we’ve mentioned, Swanson’s record of extremism is truly unmatched.

Swanson, who hosts a daily “Generations Radio” broadcast from his basement in Colorado, not only believes gay people and their allies should be put to death, but also thinks that women are causing floods by wearing pants.

Swanson on homosexuality:

  • Defended a Ugandan measure to make homosexuality a criminal offense punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty, saying he was glad the country was “standing strong” by adopting extreme anti-gay laws.

And there’s more!

  • Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina were divine punishments of “pro-homosexual” cities.
  • Homosexuality is a “disease.”

Swanson on women:

  • Helping women in Kenya own their own cows will “obliterate” the family.

Swanson on pop culture:

  • Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry sing “demon songs.”

Swanson on other topics:

Kevin Swanson: U.S. Will Put 'Millions Of People In Jail' For Their Religion

Steve Deace invited fellow Religious Right radio host Kevin Swanson on to his program last week, and both were furious that the U.S. opposed a United Nations resolution which LGBT rights advocates worried “could be used as precedent to oppose rights for same-sex couples, single parents, and other forms of families in future UN negotiations.”

Deace pointed to the resolution as a sign that the U.S. has “now out-crazied the United Nations,” while Swanson managed to pull off an even more ominous warning to listeners: prepare to go to jail.

“Get ready to go to jail,” Swanson. “I’m talking about millions of people in jail within the next five years or so unless we take a stand right now.”

Roy Moore: First Amendment 'Implicitly Recognizes God'

In a 2008 interview with far-right radio host Kevin Swanson, Roy Moore, now the chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, attacked proponents of the separation of church and state, claiming that “the First Amendment itself implicitly recognizes God.”

Swanson asked Moore if the “kneejerk reaction to any reference to our Christian God, our Christian past, to the Bible” was “due to a minority of atheists that are making an enormous amount of noise.”

“It’s due to that,” Moore responded, “it’s also due to ignorance of our past, our history and our law. You know, right now there’s an exclusion of anything about God from our public life. Indeed, they say they cannot refer to God because of the First Amendment. But without the reference to God, without the acknowledgement that there is a God that gives us liberty, freedom of thought, there would be no First Amendment.

“In other words, the First Amendment itself implicitly recognizes God because of our history and our past.”

Roy Moore Urged Christians To Pull Kids Out Of Public Schools That Teach Evolution

In a 2006 interview with far-right radio host Kevin Swanson, Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore — who was then between his two stints on the state Supreme Court — lamented that public schools were teaching students about Islam and the theory of evolution, saying Christian parents couldn’t “justify sending their children to schools where they teach that they weren’t created in the image of God, that they evolved from monkeys.”

Moore also repeated his insistence that that Rep. Keith Ellison, who had just been elected as the first Muslim member of Congress, should not be allowed to take his seat in the House if he swore his oath of office on a Koran, saying that such events were leading to the “destruction of our society and our nation from within.”

Asked by Swanson about Ellison’s election, Moore responded that it was “a very bad indication of where we are going” and claimed that the congressman-elect was “known to associate with groups that actually oppose the Constitution.”

“This Ellison wants to swear on the Koran and basically swear that his law supersedes the Constitution of the United States, and he shouldn’t be seated,” he said.

Swanson agreed, saying, “If we begin to bring humanist socialists denying the existence of God or Muslims denying the word of God, the Bible, that is the foundation of this country, I think we’ve got tyranny to look forward to. I’m not sure if it’s the Muslim kind or the socialist kind, but either kind is bad.”

“Either kind is bad,” Moore replied, “and you’re right, when we start doing that, we’re basically looking at the destruction of our society and our nation from within. We’ve never been defeated by a foreign power and we’re asking to be defeated by our own actions here.”

Later in the interview, Moore lamented that Ellison’s election shows the American people’s “ignorance” of the divine origins of the U.S., as also exemplified by the fact that on Thanksgiving “they teach in school it’s thanksgiving to the Indians and not to God.”

Citing a lawsuit over one California elementary school’s Islamic studies program, Moore claimed,“California schools are teaching Islam in their schools. They’re teaching the kids how to pray, when to pray and how to go to Mecca, and that is going to spread across our country if we don’t wake up.”

“I think that we’ve got to recognize that the state’s role is not to teach our children,” he told Swanson. “That doesn’t mean you can’t send them there if you want, but if you do, you’ve got to justify that some way. And I don’t think Christians can actually justify sending their children to schools where they teach that they weren’t created in the image of God, that they evolved from monkeys.” (This, incidentally, is not actually what the theory of evolution teaches.)

When Swanson asked Moore what God thought of all of this, Moore responded, “I think that when He sees us welcoming in gods that are not the God upon which we were founded, we’ve got trouble.”

Citing a passage from Chronicles in which God tells Solomon that He will uproot his people and destroy their temple if they start worshiping other gods, Moore warned, “That’s what we’re doing and that’s what’s liable to happen if we continue to do it.”

Kevin Swanson: Gay Marriage Will Lead To The Murder Of Christians

Last week, right-wing pastor and radio host Kevin Swanson reacted angrily after prominent pastor Tony Campolo called for “the full acceptance of Christian gay couples into the Church,” a view which Swanson said will pave the way for the persecution, imprisonment and murder of Christians.

Insisting that gay marriage is the brainchild of Nero, the 1st Century Roman emperor, Swanson said that “Nero is never content to just do his homo thing, he’s going to burn Christians. Homosexuality is going to be in the closet or Christians will be in the fire…. Nero is out of the closet and Nero is hell-bent to burn Christians and endorse homosexual marriage.”

“This is a dividing line for the good and the evil,” Swanson continued, claiming that the gay rights movement is part of the “Antichrist” system revealed in the Book of Revelation.

“This is the very essence of the most evil forces that have ever existed in the history of the world as recorded in Revelation 17,” Swanson said. “So please understand that Nero is never content just to do his homo thing, he’s got to torch Christians in his gardens.”

Kevin Swanson On Caitlyn Jenner: 'This Is The Bondage Of Satan, This Is A Pagan Culture'

Kevin Swanson, an anti-gay pastor and host of Generations Radio, is angry at his conservative brothers and sisters for “sporting this cover of Bruce Jenner” on conservative news sites, a reference to Caitlyn Jenner’s recent Vanity Fair cover. Swanson described to his listeners how “Bruce Jenner in drag is showing up on Vanity Fair, front cover, and I’m sure there are grocery stores all over America sporting Bruce in drag. And let’s just say it, Bruce Jenner looking like a prostitute on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.”

“It’s sickening, sickening,” lamented Swanson, “to be on a website checking the news, your favorite conservative website,” and they “seem to be supporting him by putting his shameful, shameful picture on the front page of their news magazines online. And friends, I’m telling ya, this is shameful. ”

“I am not using the new first name,” Swanson declared. “He’s got a new first name where he’s trying to sport himself as a female. But, of course, this itself is an abomination.” What Swanson recommends to “those who are in a workplace working with those who are trying to transgender is to refer to them by their last name. Do not refer to them by their female name. Don’t play the game.” Swanson warned his listeners that this “is going to subject you to some persecution.” However, Christians have apparently “been persecuted for a very long time, so, for 2,000 years,” and this is just part of preaching God’s word.

Swanson also had advice for how to teach your children about gender identity: “Just say well, now, if your child is standing there next to you, ‘There is Bruce Jenner in drag. That’s a man, in drag.’ Now, I hate to have to bring that up to a seven-year-old, and for that reason I would encourage Christians out there to own grocery stores and do not sport magazines like Vanity Fair, this soft porn stuff, in your grocery stores.” Swanson also “would encourage you to not take your kids into the grocery store if they're sporting pictures of men in drag dressed as prostitutes on the front cover of Vanity Fair magazine right there at the checkout counter. ”

Swanson remarked that “Jenner has set a new Twitter record, at 1 million followers in just the last week or so, so Americans very excited about the latest abomination.” He continued by arguing that “a 64-year-old burned out athlete dressed up like a whore on the front page of Vanity Fair magazine is a rather shameful, embarrassing thing, and seems to me that from the most rational, sane perspective here we’re looking at chaos. We’re looking at God giving them up to a depraved mind here.”

Swanson described how Jenner’s transition “is the corruption of a cadaver, this is the bondage of Satan, this is a pagan culture.” Caitlyn, as Swanson refused to call her, is “dressing up a cadaver. He’s putting lipstick on a cadaver.”

In case you were wondering why Jenner is doing this, Swanson explained that this is due to “the spiritual death that is reflected in the soul of a man who is not regenerated by the spirit of God. And it eventually, all that inside cadaverness, expresses itself externally. And that’s what we’re seeing friends. That’s what we’re seeing in the destruction of sexuality, this sexual nihilism, of the modern world, of this modern, homosexual and transgender movement.”

Swanson’s guest, Adam McManus, elaborated that “when you reject God and you reject everything he’s about…the only thing you are left with are evil and death.” Swanson offered a solution to evil and death, calling on Christians to “take the gospel to this world, remind them they’re dead. Remind them they’re putting lipstick on a cadaver, then bring them to Jesus.” He urged that “we ought to treat our children, or train our children, as the missionaries did when they took their kids to the pagan lands in the 19th century.” There “they homeschooled their kids and they would put the big fences around the compounds in order that their kids would not have regular contact with some of the more edgy elements of pagan culture, so to speak.” According to Swanson, the problem is “we don’t consider ourselves missionaries to a pagan land anymore.” We have to join together to “bring the gospel to these people and teach them to observe whatsoever Jesus has commanded.”

Kevin Swanson: 'Demonic World' Using 'The Homosexual Borg' To Deceive Americans

Anti-gay Colorado pastor Kevin Swanson, host of Generation Radio Kevin Swanson, declared on his radio program on Monday that Americans are too “paralyzed by fear” to act against LGBT rights.

“We’re paralyzed by fear,” he remarked. “We’re incapable of moving ahead because of what we fear. Now as you’ve said before, what you fear is what you worship, and it’s probable that Americans worship the state, they worship their money, they worship sexuality, they worship materialism, they worship all these things and they don’t worship the true and living God.” Because Americans don’t fear God, he said, they are “afraid of lawsuits, or they’re afraid of being arrested, or they’re afraid of saying things that might get them arrested, and that’s why they’re not going to fear God and take a stand against the powers of evil.”

This led Swanson to compare the fight against LGBT rights (or “the homosexual borg”) to David and Goliath. “There’s no question that Goliath of Gath, the homosexual borg, is the power in the principality of the demonic world itself. There’s no question in my mind whatsoever.” He warned that “the demonic world had some influences upon the minds of one hundred million people in America.”

Swanson then addressed the support by Robert Gates, president of the Boy Scouts, for lifting his organization’s ban on adult gay members, pointing out that Gates was at the head of the Pentagon when Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was repealed, which, he said, was similar to a policy that allowed Alexander the Great to defeat the Persians. “I don’t think it’s been accomplished anywhere in human history,” he said, “maybe by the Persians, who brought their paramours to battle and, ah, it went really, really bad for them when they fought Alexander the Great. So that would be an example in history where maybe they tried it for a week, and it didn’t turn out very well.”

Swanson then suggested that the Boy Scouts might soon let pedophiles lead troops, which led Alex McManus, a contributor to the show, to ask, “How dare he take God’s creation and mar it by putting over God’s creation pedophiles?...Christians need to say, ‘Boy Scouts, we’re done with you.’”

“This is just an indication of what’s happened to the nation,” Swanson responded. “The nation has committed suicide when it comes to social and sexual expression. They have abandoned rationality, they have destroyed themselves, and now they’re destroying the next generation of children.”

Christian Radio Host On Duggar Abuse Scandal: Incest On Same Level As Homosexuality

Today on “Generations Radio,” Colorado homeschooling activists Kevin Swanson and Steve Vaughn discussed the Duggar family child sexual abuse scandal.

Swanson insisted that liberals were waiting for the opportunity to mock the Duggar family because “the world has killed billions of babies since 1960 thanks to abortion and the abortifacient birth control pill,” and are hoping to silence anyone who says “that there is something wrong with killing babies or there’s something wrong with having sex with anything out there that moves or doesn’t move.”

Then, Swanson sarcastically shared “a list of things we’re not going to say about the recent revelations,” for example, “we’re not going to say that incest is worse than homosexuality.”

“They’re about the same,” Vaughn replied.

Paranoia-Rama: God Sending Wrath Upon America For Gay Marriage, Abortion Rights

Even though God stopped President Obama from nuking Charleston, according to one Colorado lawmaker, God permitted a brutal attack on a Colorado woman as punishment for abortion rights. Even worse, other conservative activists believe that God is preparing to destroy America if the Supreme Court approves of gay marriage.

Colorado Pastor: God Directed Attack On Pregnant Woman To Teach Us A Lesson About Abortion Rights

Joining Colorado Republican lawmaker Gordon Klingenschmitt in suggesting that the attack of a pregnant woman in Colorado was part of a divine plan to expose the injustice of legal abortion, Colorado-based radio host Kevin Swanson wondered yesterday if “by God’s providence, He may have somehow directed this irony to teach Colorado a lesson” about its “pro-abortion” policies.

According to reports, the woman “was stabbed and had her baby cut from her womb” and the baby later died.

“We’re a murderer state,” Swanson said. “There is so much blood on the hands of this state, it’s hard to live here. It’s hard to live in the state of Colorado because there is so much blood on the hands of our leaders, here in the state of Colorado, and the populace who is so pro-abortion they would not protect this child who was murdered in her mother’s womb over the weekend.”

Religious Right Pundit: Taylor Swift Sings Gay 'Demon Songs'

Kevin Swanson is deeply disturbed by the “homosexual theme” and “homosexual connection” found in the Taylor Swift song “Welcome to New York.”

“That’s the way it goes as another nice little Presbyterian, Southern Baptist girl bites the dust, following the trajectory of Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, taking their 13-year-old fan club all the way,” the Religious Right broadcaster lamented on his radio program yesterday.

He added that parents should make sure that their children aren’t listening to musicians like Taylor Swift.

“They’re all riding the train and they start out with a benign Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus and before you know it they’re singing their demon songs and they’re making their attributions to their homosexual friends and that’s the way a national apostasy occurs,” Swanson warned.

Kevin Swanson: Girl Scouts Turn Girls Into Lesbians And 'I Don't Want My Little Girl Turning Into A Lesbian'

Today on “Generations Radio,” Religious Right pundit Kevin Swanson repeated his criticisms of the Girl Scouts, which he previously said is a “wicked” organization that is turning young girls into lesbian communists. “Please, I beg of you, do not buy Girl Scout cookies,” he said at the time. “Please, I beg of you, stop buying Girl Scout cookies.”

Swanson insisted on today’s program that he isn’t “backing away” from the Girl Scouts issue because the organization corrupts children and, as Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew, “If you offend one of these little ones who believes in me, it would be better for you that a millstone be hanged around your neck and you be drowned at the bottom of the sea.”

Later in the program, Swanson said that people are leaving the Girl Scouts because the vast majority of “parents who really care about their little girls do not want them being lesbians at 24 years of age.”

“Now there’s a six percent out there that are thinking, ‘I would love for my girl to grow up and become a lesbian and never get married and never, ever, ever, ever fulfill God’s role for her as a woman,’” Swanson continued. “My guess is the average parent in America, I’m talking 95 percent of parents in America, are not going to be keen on their kids growing up and becoming lesbians and homosexuals at 24 years of age. It’s one reason why I have a hard time understanding why they send their kids, their little six-, seven-, eight- and nine-year-old kids to schools with the GLSEN-sponsored signs plastered all over the facilities.”

Swanson also posed an important question to parents who send their children to public schools: “I would love to ask these parents: Is it your objective that your kids be well indoctrinated in lesbianism and homosexuality such that they will become the future lesbians of America?”

“I think 94, 95, 96 percent of Americans will say, ‘That’s unacceptable, that is not my vision for my little girl, I don’t want my little girl turning into a lesbian,’” he added.

Beware Lesbian Abortion Cookies! The Worst Conservative Attacks On the Girl Scouts

While Girl Scouts across the country spent this past weekend selling and distributing Girl Scout cookies, many right-wing activists will not be joining the rest of us in enjoying Thin Mints and Samoas.

For the past several years, conservative groups have urged their members not to touch the cookies, warning that doing so will support communism, abortion and homosexual indoctrination. The Girl Scouts’ right-wing detractors commonly cite the discredited myth that the group is funding Planned Parenthood, and the even stranger that it is turning children into lesbian, socialist activists.

Here are the three wildest claims that right-wing activists make about the girls’ empowerment organization:

1) Girl Scouts Push ‘Lesbianism’ On Children!

The Girl Scouts’ strong stance against discrimination has put the organization in the far right’s crosshairs, with anti-LGBT activists claiming that the Girl Scouts’ acceptance of lesbian and bisexual members really means that they are somehow pushing “lesbianism” on children.

Back in 2013, Mission America’s Linda Harvey accused the Scouts of teaching “homosexual lifestyles” to girls, along with “an attitude of suspicion toward males in general.” One right-wing columnist, Jane Chastain of WorldNetDaily, alleged last year that the Scouts not only promote legal “prostitution,” but send children home from camp telling “stories of lesbianism.”

Perhaps no one captures this particular paranoia better than Religious Right radio host Kevin Swanson, who once literally begged his listeners to not purchase Girl Scout cookies.

“I don’t want to support lesbianism, I don’t want to support Planned Parenthood and I don’t want to support abortion, and if that be the case I’m not buying Girl Scout cookies,” Swanson said on his “Generations Radio” program in 2013. “Please, I beg of you, do not buy Girl Scout cookies. Please, I beg of you, stop buying Girl Scout cookies. And if you do, take a big black magic marker and cross out all of the references to Girl Scouts of America on all of the signs and all of the boxes because we do not want to promote that organization.”

Swanson added that Girl Scouts will eventually become voters who will put “a communist in the White House in the year 2020.”

2) Girl Scouts Promote Abortion And ‘Promoscuity’!

Conservatives were incensed when Girl Scouts of the USA tweeted out a Huffington Post article on notable women of 2013, asking Twitter followers who they thought was the ‘woman of the year.’ The article mentioned people like Malala Yousafzai and Beyoncé, but also included a lengthy video chat during which Texas lawmaker Wendy Davis and her famous filibuster against an anti-abortion bill were mentioned. While the Scouts didn’t endorse anyone in the post, conservatives seized on the tweet to resurrect the myth that Girl Scout cookie sales fund Planned Parenthood.

One Family Research Council official, Cathy Ruse, said in 2012 that the “radicals” leading the Girl Scouts seek to “promote abortion” and “push for same-sex marriage,” alleging that Scout leaders believe that “abortion and sex-ed and promiscuity for very young girls is a good thing.”

FRC president Tony Perkins warned on the same 2012 radio program that the people behind the Scouts’ “liberal indoctrination” efforts are “not having kids so they want to make sure they can get our kids.” He said that by encouraging “promiscuity,” future Scouts will need to go to Planned Parenthood clinics: “[I]t makes sense for Planned Parenthood to want to be teamed up with the Girl Scouts because that’s a client base for them if they can get this information into their hands to encourage promiscuity and behavior that would lead them into Planned Parenthood clinics.”

The even group went so far as to target the Girl Scouts in a prayer alert.

Fox News pundit Todd Starnes has also called on his fans to boycott the cookie drives, saying last year that cookie-buyers should seek out more “wholesome alternatives” since “Girl Scout money was helping to fund Planned Parenthood.” American Family Association president Tim Wildmon also called for a cookie boycott last year, saying that “buying Girl Scout cookies serves only to further facilitate a very liberal pro-abortion agenda.”

Dan Gainor of the conservative Media Research Center was boycotting Girl Scout cookies as early as 2012, boasting that his entire office had sworn off the cookies since they were “destroying young women in America.”

3) Girl Scouts Commit ‘Child Abuse’ By Accepting Transgender Girls!

The far-right lit into the Girl Scouts in 2012 after one troop in Colorado decided to accept a 7-year-old transgender girl, citing its chapter’s policy that “if a child identifies as a girl and the child’s family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout.”

Perkins urged FRC members to boycott the Scouts since they “decided to admit boys who dress as girls” and Ruse said that the organization’s inclusive policy amounted to child abuse: “You’ve got a cross-dresser in the front office, you’ve got little boys admitted as little girls and those poor little girls in those troops have to pretend this is a girl? That’s child abuse in some people’s estimation.”

The 2014 Equine Posterior Award: Vote For Your Favorite Right-Wing Extremist

It’s time to cast your vote for the winner of People For the American Way’s annual Equine Posterior Achievement Award, which recognizes the worst of the worst in right-wing extremism.

Our 2014 nominees outdid themselves this year in promoting conspiracy theories, inventing persecution myths and pushing bigotry, and now it’s your turn to decide who wins this year’s coveted award.

Ted Cruz: Last year's EPAA winner Ted Cruz didn’t run for office in 2014, but that didn’t stop him from rallying Religious Right voters. The possible 2016 presidential hopeful spent the year supporting anti-government rancher Cliven Bundy and helping to block the nomination of Debo Adegbile.

Cruz was an outspoken opponent of the proposed amendment to overturn Citizens United, claiming it would “repeal the First Amendment” and “muzzle” pastors. Also threatening the free speech of pastors, Cruz contended, are equal rights for LGBT people, to which he is as vehemently opposed as ever.

The Benham Brothers: After reporting on HGTV’s plans for a new home improvement reality show starring notorious anti-gay, anti-choice extremist David Benham and his brother Jason back in May, the Benham brothers have now taken their tale of "persecution!" throughout the Religious Right speaking circuit.

When HGTV dropped the show just hours after our first reporting on their anti-gay activism, including their claims that homosexuality is “destructive” and “demonic, Religious Right leaders from Pat Robertson to Bryan Fischer wasted no time in drumming up a “Christian persecution” narrative and declaring the Benhams modern-day martyrs. The Benhams enthusiastically embraced their new role, repeatedly likening themselves to ISIS beheading victims and making an appearance at the 2014 Values Voter Summit.

Gordon Klingenschmitt: What a year for Gordon “Dr. Chaps” Klingenschmitt! Klingenschmitt, whose whole career has been based on a myth about his supposed religious persecution in the military, used his “Pray in Jesus Name” program this year to spread the word that it’s basically child abuse for a kid to be raised by gay parents, and that transgender people are just in need of an exorcism and a spanking. (Of course, this is a man who once tried to perform an exorcism on President Obama.)

But in between spouting anti-gay vitriol and denouncing Obamacare, Klingenschmitt somehow managed to run a campaign for a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives and won! Congratulations to Colorado’s new anti-gay, demon hunting state legislator.

Jody Hice: Jody Hice is a Georgia Republican who won a seat in the U.S. House this year despite saying that women should ask their husbands for permission before entering politics, that homosexuality “enslaves” people, and that Muslims shouldn’t have First Amendment rights. He blamed everything from the Sandy Hook School shooting to the Penn State abuse scandal on the separation of church and state. He’s a big believer in the power of “blood moons” and he thinks our public schools are a lot like Nazi Germany.

And, again, he will soon be a member of Congress.

Texas State Board of Education: This year, we nominate the Texas State Board of Education for an Equine Posterior Achievement Award for their approval of social studies textbooks that were more about the ideological beliefs of the board members than, you know, actual history.

While the approved textbooks were an improvement on the original proposed content, which included blatant denial of climate change and negative stereotypes of Islam as a violent religion, the final editions emphasize the biblical influence in America’s founding, even going so far as to reference Moses as an influence on the Constitution and the Old Testament as the root of democracy.

Glenn Beck: This year Glenn Beck assured his viewers that his many prophetic visions and predictions would finally, definitely come true. It’s hard to imagine where Beck found the time for all his clairvoyance and divine inspiration, what with everything else he accomplished this year including devising plans to fix the VA and destroy ISIS. But 2014 hasn’t been a banner year for Beck. In March, he was sued for defamation after falsely accusing one of the victims injured in the Boston Marathon bombing of being behind the attack. (Unfortunately for Beck, a federal judge recently allowed the lawsuit to move forward.)

Pat Robertson: This year, EPAA staple Pat Robertson kept up the HIV fear-mongering with his assertion that you can get AIDS from a towel -- you may remember last year, when he accused gay people of intentionally spreading HIV by cutting people with special rings.

There was hardly a news story this year that Robertson didn’t weigh in on, from Michael Brown’s death to marijuana legalization, and even Robin Williams’ suicide. He spread the word about the demonic threat posed by Ouija boards and the serious risk of fighting climate change. But it wasn’t all doom and gloom for Pat Robertson his show can cure the neck injuries and asthma of its viewers, after all.

Ben Carson: Right-wing activist and potential presidential candidate Ben Carson kicked off 2014 with a rousing CPAC speech denouncing “extra rights” like marriage equality for gay people. Despite repeatedly speaking out against marriage equality and calling it a Marxist plot, Carson believes that gay rights supporters are trying to inhibit his right to free speech. Carson also shared his many opinions on the situation in Ferguson, Missouri, blaming Michael Brown’s death on his lack of a father figure, and accusing protestors of being part of a “me generation” started by women’s libbers.

Bryan Fischer: Bryan Fischer spent a lot of 2014 being grossed out, horrified, and otherwise offended by openly gay football player Michael Sam. After that, he said that commemorating Harvey Milk is a lot like honoring Jeffrey Dahmer, asked Michelle Obama to start an anti-lesbian campaign, and expressed his preference for sharia law and displeasure with Pope Francis. Perennial EPAA nominee Fischer also chimed in on Ferguson, claiming that Michael Brown was possessed by a homicidal demon.

Kevin Swanson: Religious Right broadcaster Kevin Swanson took to the airwaves in 2014 to warn his audience about the sinister motives of “The Hunger Games” movies, the potential for LGBT nondiscrimination laws to protect murderers and rapists, and the threat of “Antichrist” Presbyterians. But maybe most memorable were Swanson’s ruminations on popular culture, including his speculation that Beyonce may be possessed by a demonic spirit, and his claim that the Disney movie “Frozen” is a Satanic movie that turns kids gay.

Paranoia-Rama: Return Of The 'Libtard'-Loathing Police Chief, Obama's Third Term And Hunger Games Exposed

As everybody knows, America is turning into a chaotic terrorist haven filled with race riots that is also somehow a Nazi police state, or at least that is what we learned this week from some of our favorite right-wing activists and politicians.

Kevin Swanson: 'The Hunger Games' Is 'Warming Us Up To Murder' And Persecution

Last time Religious Right broadcaster Kevin Swanson saw a “Hunger Games” movie he wasn’t much of a fan, fearing that the film promoted feminism. Then last week, after the third “Hunger Games” movie came out in theaters, Swanson aired another review of the series, this time warning that it may contribute to another Holocaust.

“This is warming us up to murder,” he said, warning that the films may train children to slaughter American Christians just as Jews were massacred in Nazi Germany. “This is warming us up to the ethical decisions that tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of American kids are going to do when it comes time for the Nazis to kill the Jews or when the Americans need to kill the Jews or when Americans need to kill Christians.”

“Whatever it needs to be, whatever it’s going to be in the next twenty to thirty years, this is an excellent way, this is a tremendous way to prepare hundreds of millions of children, even Christian children and homeschool children for the kind of murder we may see in the future,” he said.

Kevin Swanson Is No Longer 'Playing Patty-Cake' With Feminists, LGBT People

On “Generations Radio” this week, host Kevin Swanson brought Religious Right activist Jay Grimstead on the air to warn of the coming destruction of America, and the principles needed to “rebuild civilization” following its inevitable demise. Swanson and Grimstead agreed that society has become imperiled by the dissolution of Christian values at the hands of radical deviants.

“We are at the point where social security won’t provide, euthanasia’s coming on like a steam train,” Swanson said.

“[Progressives] have destroyed the character of the next generation: they broke down faith, family and freedom, manhood, womanhood. And I’m at the point where I’m not playing patty-cake with the feminists and the homosexuals and the socialists…as many do.”

Later in the program, Swanson and Grimstead disparaged liberal arts colleges as minefields for Christian students that seek to dismantle the conservative values they were raised on.

“A huge percentage of kids coming out of nice little red-state homes and churches get off to the blue-state universities, and they are corrupted again and again and again and again,” Swanson said. “How do we reform education, especially university-level education, where the kids who graduate aren’t more pro-feministic, aren’t pro-homosexual or pro-socialistic, pro-big government and pro-evolution, pro-everything that is anti-Scripture?”

In the face of secular adversity, Grimstead added that evangelicals must “prepare” and “protect” their children from the onslaught of liberalism, or else parents might as well be placing their children “into Nazi territory.”

Ex-Gay Activist Warns Homosexuality Is 'Another Step In The Degeneration Of A Culture That Practices Idolatry'

Ex-gay activist David Kyle Foster joined Kevin Swanson on “Generations Radio” today, which inevitably led to a discussion of how God will punish America for homosexuality.

“I’ve wondered if the opening of the Pandora’s box of the 1960s and 70s and the free sex movement that led to the shacking up, the fornication, the massive increase in the availability of pornography, etc. etc….I wonder if the incredible opening up of all these things has led to the next step, and that is homosexuality?” Swanson asked Foster.

Foster agreed that “sexual immorality” such as homosexuality amounts to “idolatry” because it involves “worshipping the creature rather than the creator.”

“Homosexuality in our culture is another step in the degeneration of a culture that practices idolatry,” he concluded.

Kevin Swanson: LGBT Nondiscrimination Laws May Protect Murderers And Rapists

Colorado pastor and radio host Kevin Swanson is quite proud of the Pennsylvania bridal shop that denied service to a lesbian couple this month, and Swanson spoke with his “Generations Radio” co-host Bill Jack today about the need for more businesses to stand up to gays and lesbians. If not, Swanson warned, then shops will soon be forced to honor murderers, rapists, animal abusers and pedophiles.

A lesbian couple shopping for wedding dresses are “not unlike serial killers walking into a trophy shop requesting a plaque that indicates the accomplishments of the serial killer,” Swanson said. He then warned that organizations like Toastmasters may be forced to give speeches honoring rapists or groups like NAMBLA may coerce Chuck E. Cheese restaurants into hosting “a party involving eight to twelve-year-old boys from Thailand.”

Jack added: “Maybe somebody comes in and they want to celebrate torturing puppies and they want it photographed by a photographer.”

Swanson added that gays want to punish and torture anyone who disagrees with them like the North Korean regime: “You want the kind of enthusiasm you get out of the North Korean crowds when the premier shows up, if anybody isn’t yelling and screaming then they’re going to be tortured. That’s the way homosexuals handle their homosexuality, once they’re out of the closet, if everybody isn’t enthusiastic, you better be yelling and screaming and bringing the party favors.”

Kevin Swanson: Red Tyrant Abraham Lincoln Introduced Communism To America

On his radio show last month, Religious Right broadcaster Kevin Swanson hosted a neo-Confederate author to discuss how Abraham Lincoln used the Civil War — or as he called it, “The War Against The South” — to impose socialism on America.

Swanson is adding Lincoln to the list of people, such as Mark Twain, who he believes ruined the country by replacing Antebellum slavery with Big Government socialist slavery.

“It’s the socialist utopians that come into town and they promise deliverance from local fiefdoms only to create a large tyranny in the Soviet Union, Soviet America and Soviet China and Soviet everywhere else in the world,” he said.

Swanson spoke with Walter Kennedy, the author of books such as “Lincoln’s Marxists” and “Red Republicans and Lincoln’s Marxists: Marxism in the Civil War.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center describes Kennedy as “a member of the hard core of the neo-Confederate movement” and “a founding member of the League of the South,” who has “called for a new Southern secession to escape the ‘overgrown and unresponsive’ federal government.” He also co-wrote a book entitled “The South Was Right!,” which defended Southern slavery.

In the interview with Swanson, Kennedy said that “radical socialists and communists” helped launch the Republican Party and put Lincoln in the White House, and then led “the prosecution of ‘The War Against the South.’”

“The Democrats, both Northern and Southerners, believed in limited government and the Marxists hated that concept, they wanted to do away with states’ rights and limited government so that they’d have one big all-powerful indivisible government that could force its will upon the American people,” Kennedy said.

After Swanson asked if “the communists had the ear of Lincoln,” Kennedy said that Karl Marx and other socialists revered Lincoln for opposing the South’s “fight to keep small government alive, states’ rights alive.”

Kennedy went on to say that Lincoln created a “supreme” federal government that led an “incessant attack on religious values in America,” arguing that Lincoln gave communism a “big boost” by winning the Civil War.

“What Marxist dictator could ask for less?” he continued. “All of these communists that have wormed their way into power, into powerful positions, they began to influence other people to pursue this objective of a big, indivisible government, and government supplants God as being sovereign.”

Kennedy said that “post-Appomattox,” America replaced its “freedom-based, liberty-based society” with one that embraced “un-American” values.

“Post-Civil War, you’ve got the socialist goals, the communist platform, the Manifesto platform, I think there are ten elements to the platform, one by one they come about in our country,” Swanson added. “And first was the public schools.”

That’s right: the communists not only defeated the churchgoing, freedom-loving Southern slave owners, but also established evil public schools!

Kennedy said public schools “make all the children think alike and think the way the government wanted them to think, no different than in Nazi Germany or in Soviet Union or in North Korea.”

“They want all of the children to think alike, and what tyrant doesn’t want all of his subjects to think alike?”

Since Swanson believes that homosexuality should be punished by death and frequently claims that liberals are using things like the movie Frozen and Girl Scout cookies to make children gay, we hoped that even this year’s field of Republican presidential candidates would think twice... Steve Deace invited fellow Religious Right radio host Kevin Swanson on to his program last week, and both were furious that the U.S. opposed a United Nations resolution which LGBT rights advocates worried “could be used as precedent to oppose rights for same-sex couples, single parents, and other forms of families in future UN negotiations.” Deace pointed to the resolution as a sign that the U.S. has “now out-crazied the United Nations,” while Swanson managed to pull off an even more ominous warning to listeners: prepare to go to jail. “Get ready to go to jail,... In a 2008 interview with far-right radio host Kevin Swanson, Roy Moore, now the chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, attacked proponents of the separation of church and state, claiming that “the First Amendment itself implicitly recognizes God.” Swanson asked Moore if the “kneejerk reaction to any reference to our Christian God, our Christian past, to the Bible” was “due to a minority of atheists that are making an enormous amount of noise.” “It’s due to that,” Moore responded, “it’s also due to ignorance of our past,... In a 2006 interview with far-right radio host Kevin Swanson, Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore — who was then between his two stints on the state Supreme Court — lamented that public schools were teaching students about Islam and the theory of evolution, saying Christian parents couldn’t “justify sending their children to schools where they teach that they weren’t created in the image of God, that they evolved from monkeys.” Moore also repeated his insistence that that Rep. Keith Ellison, who had just been elected as the first Muslim member of Congress,... MORE >

Nero is out of... MORE >

And let’s just say it, Bruce Jenner looking like a prostitute on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.” “It’s... MORE >

Now as you’ve said before, what you fear is what you worship, and it’s probable that Americans worship the state, they worship their money, they worship sexuality, they worship materialism, they worship all these things and they don’t worship the... Today on “Generations Radio,” Colorado homeschooling activists Kevin Swanson and Steve Vaughn discussed the Duggar family child sexual abuse scandal. Swanson insisted that liberals were waiting for the opportunity to mock the Duggar family because “the world has killed billions of babies since 1960 thanks to abortion and the abortifacient birth control pill,” and are hoping to silence anyone who says “that there is something wrong with killing babies or there’s something wrong with having sex with anything out there that moves or doesn’t move.”...
