During his worship service on Tuesday night, right-wing pastor Perry Stone declared that God allowed Barack Obama to be president to signal that the End Times are approaching.
“Sooner or later, the Lord is going to return,” he said. “For certain things to happen prophetically, you have to have certain individuals in power.”
Stone said that even though Obama “attacked those who believed in God,” it was still “God’s will for him to be president for eight years” because it was during Obama’s administration that same-sex marriage was legalized, which is exactly what Jesus said would happen before he returned.
“It says, ‘As it was in the days of Lot, so will it be at the time of the coming of the Son of Man,'” Stone said. “In Genesis 19, the old men and the young men in the city were sodomites. That’s why the city was named Sodom. So there has to be a repeat of what happened in the days of Lot in our day and time, and that set the precedent for it.”
