American Family Association governmental affairs director Sandy Rios warned radio listeners yesterday that the inclusion of a same-sex couple on the children’s show “My Little Pony” was done to advance the cause of the LGBTQ movement in America.

Rios, also a Religious Right talk show host on AFA’s American Family Radio network, said that her granddaughter is a big fan of “My Little Pony” and owns several figurines from the show. Exasperated, Rios informed listeners that the show would depict a lesbian couple in an upcoming episode and warned that the depiction was part of a broader LGBTQ agenda.

“You’ll be happy to know that lesbian ponies are now coming to Discovery Family kids’ show. Lesbian ponies! The writer Michael Vogel is really excited. It’s going to be two girls, Auntie Holiday and Auntie Loft, and he made no bones about the fact that they’re lesbians,” Rios said. “Turns out, he’s gay and he’s very concerned that his cause be advanced, so everybody seems willing to let him advance it.”

“If your children watch My Little Pony, you might want to reconsider what you let them watch,” Rios said.
