Glenn Beck spent a good portion of his radio program today making the case that “it’s time for America to unite behind Ted Cruz” in order to prevent Donald Trump from winning the Republican nomination.
Specifically, he declared that all the remaining GOP candidates must drop out of the race and endorse Cruz and he came up with an ingenious plan for persuading them to do so.
As he explained it, Cruz should announce that Marco Rubio will be his vice presidential running mate, that Rand Paul will be tapped to serve as treasury secretary in a Cruz administration, that Utah Senator Mike Lee will be nominated to replace the late Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court and that Ben Carson should be encouraged to run to fill Rubio’s vacant seat in the Senate by promising that will receive that full support of the GOP.
“I think this is doable and absolutely unstoppable,” Beck declared excitedly. “Tweet that. Facebook that. Get that out. Demand that that’s where we go … Everyone wins and we’ll stomp in November.”
