One of the most amazing things about Bryan Fischer and his daily radio program is how he manages to pluck isolated news articles out of the ether and hold them up as rock-solid proof of the need for America to embrace his agenda. Every article about a terrorist attack is proof that Muslims should be banned from serving in the military and every article about someone being criticized for spouting anti-gay remarks is proof that gays are committing hate crimes. And today Fischer held up a story about a seven year-old boy driving a car 50 miles per hour on a twenty mile journey to see his father... MORE

When NBC cut the phrase "under God" for the Pledge of Allegiance during its coverage of the US Open golf tournament last weekend, it was obvious that the Religious Right would seize on it ... and that is exactly what they did. And it was equally obvious that, in reacting to this incident, they would also wildly overreact ... which exactly what they are doing now, with the Family Research Council now demanding "the network play a public service announcement featuring the Pledge of Allegiance, in its entirety, daily" and produce an entire program to... When Texas governor and potential presidential candidate Rick Perry announced that he was holding a prayer rally called The Response, co-hosted by the American Family Association, Right Wing Watch flagged the immense influence of another group, the International House of Prayer (IHOP), in organizing the event. Members of the IHOP leadership hold high-ranking positions in The Response’s leadership team, including Director of The Response Luis Cataldo, National Student Mobilization coordinator Dave Sliker, and program coordinators Jill Cataldo and Randy and Kelsey Bohlender. Mike Bickle,... MORE

As Bryan Fischer complains that our new report and continuing monitoring of his daily ranting represents a “jihad” against him, we at Right Wing Watch would like to remember happier days when the American Family Association spokesman lauded our efforts to monitor his unrelenting bigotry: Fischer: Right Wing Watch paid careful attention to this program yesterday and carved up a lot of my comments into little mini-bits that are on their website. If you want to go to Right Wing Watch, you can view clips, the excerpts from my program yesterday. They've got complete transcripts of... MORE

When Texas governor and potential presidential candidate Rick Perry decided to host a prayer rally, The Response, with the bigoted American Family Association and the radical International House of Prayer, Right Wing Watch noted the two groups’ bigoted and extreme beliefs along with the rally’s goal of proselytizing to non-Christians. Yesterday we noted that one of the leaders of Texas Governor Rick Perry’s The Response, ‘Apostle’ Doug Stringer, blamed America for the September 11th attacks because of what he saw as the country’s increasing secularism and... Last week the Washington Times (briefly) wondered if ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner was part of a larger plot to bring Sharia law into America because his wife is Muslim and a close aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. While the Washington Times eventually pulled the article, the conservative blogosphere is still asking questions. Rich Swier, an activist for Tea Party Nation and ACT! for America, claims that Weiner and President Obama “have partnered with the Muslim Brotherhood”: Many Americans are awakening to the term "Muslim Brotherhood". They are also noticing that... MORE

Joining other Religious Right activists who have held President Obama responsible for the deadly tornadoes in the Midwest because of his approach to the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah is now directly linking Obama's speech on Israel's borders to the disaster in Joplin, Missouri. He even suggests that Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans as a result of President Bush's foreign policy decisions: Bible prophecy may have a bad name in the light of Harold Camping's misguided date-setting, but the biggest sign of the end may have been overlooked in all the rapture...
