Boykin: Persecution Of Christian Soldiers A Sign Of The End Times Former Lt. General Jerry Boykin has emerged as a Religious Right hero as a leading opponent of civil rights for American Muslims, fervent critic of President Obama, and a rigid supporter of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Boykin also presents himself as the victim of anti-Christian persecution when he was reprimanded after he delivered a speech in uniform during which he said he was part of an “army of God” fighting “Satan,” and that the Muslim warlords he fought worshipped an “idol.”... Jerry Boykin appeared on Bryan Fischer’s show Focal Point yesterday where the two anti-Muslim activists found common ground in their belief that mosques should be banned in the United States. Boykin, who has appeared with Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, and Mike Huckabee, has launched some of the most sordid attacks against Muslim-Americans since he left the military, following an investigation that he violated rules due to his partisan and anti-Muslim rhetoric. He has argued that “Islam itself is not just a religion” and “should not be protected under the First Amendment,... MORE

For the last several weeks, the Religious Right has been hyping allegations from Kelly Shackleford and his Liberty Institute claiming that the Department of Veterans Affairs has instituted a ban on "the use of Christian words or phrases at veterans’ funerals."
Liberty Institute has even launched a website called "Don't Tear Us Down" which claims that "Jesus is not welcome at gravesides" and the campaign is receiving support from other Religious Right groups like the Family Research Council and the American Family Association.
Today the New York Times took a... MORE

As first reported on Right Wing Watch, William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC appeared on The Janet Mefferd Show and discussed the possibility of a military coup and other “extra-political activities that I can’t really talk about because they’re all illegal and violent” to overthrow “Dictator Barack Obama.” While Gheen later denied the comments, even after they were replayed to him verbatim on Alan Colmes’s show, Mefferd yesterday weighed in on Gheen’s statements.
Mefferd strongly distanced herself from Gheen and made clear that... MORE

As we mentioned the other day, there have been a lot of articles lately from journalists, columnists, and Religious Right activists completely dismissing any talk of "dominionism" among the Religious Right.
Dominionism, they claim, is just some meaningless conspiracy-theory dreamed up by the Left as scare tactic because nobody within the Religious Right movement would ever embrace those ideas or associate with anyone who espoused any sort of Christian Reconstructionist views.
Really? While searching for something else, I stumbled upon this 2007 article from Americans... MORE

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC’s William Gheen is out in force after we at People For the American Way’s Right Wing Watch reported on an interview with Janet Mefferd in which he said that “extra-political activities” that he described as “illegal and violent” might be the only way for people to stop the "Dictator Barack Obama." Gheen told Mefferd that the Obama administration is “putting out videos and propaganda telegraphing what I believe to be a conflict with White America they’re preparing for after they get another 10 or 15... Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council has been ratcheting up his anti-gay rhetoric recently, and finding new ways to blame gays and lesbians for what he sees as society’s problems. Last month, for instance, the Air Force suspended a class on “Nuclear Ethics and Nuclear Warfare training,” after it was revealed that the class relied heavily on Christian teachings. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation objected to the class and solicited complaints from Air Force officers, who the group says were mostly “practicing Protestants and Roman Catholics.” While...
