Team Trump Adds Big Tech to ‘Enemies of the People’ List

A joint fundraising committee of the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee sent out an email on Tuesday with the headline “Enemies of the People.” While Trump has most often applied that term to media he calls “fake news,” the new email includes big tech companies whose supposed “censorship” of conservative views was the focus of the White House’s recent “social media summit.” There is scant evidence to support the assertion that tech companies censor users on their political leanings.

The email claimed that Trump won in 2016 in spite of “suppression” of conservative views:

This is absurd – Coastal Elites are turning their “nonpartisan” platforms into liberal soapboxes.

They’re simultaneously pushing BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALIST agendas while silencing conservative American Patriots.

What they’re doing isn’t right. In fact, it’s downright UN-AMERICAN. That’s why on July 11th, President Trump held the first ever Presidential Social Media Summit to meet with conservative social media influencers to discuss the ongoing CENSORSHIP crisis.

Partnered with the FAKE NEWS media, the tremendous dishonesty, bias, discrimination, and suppression by these so-called “open-minded communities,” is unparalleled.

Even with all of the suppression in 2016, President Trump still won, but it’s getting so much worse…

They have truly become an Enemy of the People, and now, President Trump wants YOUR input on this unprecedented suppression of conservatives on Social Media.

The email invited recipients to take an “Official Corrupt Media Censorship Survey” that includes 10 questions about what people believe and feel about conservative content being “censored” and “suppressed” on social media. Sample question: “Do you believe social media sites, like Facebook and Twitter, should be held accountable for censoring conservative American Patriots?”

“We can’t let them get away with this,” the email says. “Remember, they’re not just trying to silence us, THEY’RE TRYING TO SILENCE YOU.”

The email, which was sent by the Trump Make American Great Again Committee, was signed “Team Trump 2020.”
