Larry Pratt: Fund Planned Parenthood With Sales Of 'The Dr. Mengele Cookbook For Jewish Body Parts'

Larry Pratt, founder of Gun Owners of America, joined Dr. Dave Janda on his far-right radio program “Operation Freedom” last week in a conversation that compared the care provided by Planned Parenthood to medical experiments in Nazi Germany.

Janda claimed that “from a medical standpoint, selling fetuses, selling human parts, I mean we might as well take that back to Nazi Germany for God’s sakes.”

Planned Parenthood’s engagement in legal tissue donation for medical research prompted Pratt to suggest that “maybe Planned Parenthood could replace their federal funding – which they may be losing now – with the sale of the Doctor Mengele cookbook for Jewish body parts.”

Larry Pratt: States Should Arrest Federal Agents Enforcing Gun Laws

Gun Owners of America’s executive director, Larry Pratt, commended states that have passed laws “nullifying” federal gun regulations, saying that states should arrest federal agents enforcing gun laws that they think violate the Second Amendment, just as they should have ignored the Fugitive Slave Act to arrest slave-catchers coming into northern states.

In an interview on VCY America’s “Crosstalk” program on August 4, Pratt fielded a question from a caller who asked what Americans can do “when the man in the Oval Office lacks competence” and is possibly “borderline insane” like “Nero, Hitler and Mao Zedong.”

The answer, Pratt said, was nullification.

“We’re blessed in this country that we do still have something left of our federal system,” he responded. “And there are a number of states that have passed laws in one area or another that have told the feds, ‘Don’t stick your nose in here.’ And, in fact, in some of the cases, and I’m thinking of Kansas particularly, if they find that you’re involved in unconstitutional activity regarding the Second Amendment in Kansas, they’ll arrest you. And that’s the way it should be.

“That’s what states did in the run-up to the War Between the States. Many of the northern states, I remember specifically Wisconsin enacted legislation that led to the arrest of a slave-catcher who had pursued a slave into Wisconsin, and they nailed him and they put him in jail.”

Top Gun Lobbyist Praises 'Muslim-Free' Gun Shop: 'If They Don't Want To Sell To The Enemy, Then Good For Them'

A Florida gun shop owner is facing a lawsuit after declaring his business to be a “Muslim-free zone” because he refuses to “arm and train those who wish to do harm to my fellow people.”

This stance has, unsurprisingly, earned the shop owner the approval of Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, who told the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow yesterday that “if they don't want to sell to the enemy, then good for them."

"These are private stores and they're free to do what they wish," says Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America. "And if they don't want to sell to the enemy, then good for them."

Pratt, meanwhile suggests that other gun stores should follow the Florida one.

"Why would we want to sell guns to people who, when they go to hear a sermon on Friday, are told to go shoot everybody else?" he asks.

Last year, when an Arkansas gun range owner similarly banned Muslims from her business, Pratt said he wanted to give her an award.

Tea Party Sheriff: Obama Trying To 'Emasculate' Police In Order To Impose Dictatorial Control

Back in March, a task force that President Obama convened to create recommendations for local policing in wake of the Ferguson protests released its report, which included nonbinding recommendations that local law enforcement track and share various statistics and work to increase trust within their communities.

This, of course, did not sit well with Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt, who invited the Tea Party’s favorite sheriff, David Clarke of Milwaukee County, onto his radio program this weekend to discuss how the presidential task force’s report is actually part of President Obama’s plan to “emasculate” the police and impose dictatorial control.

Clarke told Pratt that the report was a “sham” that was “put together on a false narrative” as part of Obama’s “attempt to federalize all local police so he can control them the way that a dictator uses the police in a dictatorship or a police state.”

Pratt responded by citing a 2008 Obama campaign speech that conspiracy theorists have twisted to claim that the president wants to set up a “civilian police force” loyal just to him: “That’s exactly what he said when he was campaigning, that he wanted to have a police force that was superior, or at least equal to, anything else in the country. That’s pretty stunning because our Constitution doesn’t provide for the feds to be cops.”

Clarke, however, said that all of this isn’t just Obama’s fault, but instead a product of “this cultural revolution that’s going on now” driven by liberal elites.

“One of the things that they know they have to do is they have to emasculate the police,” he said. “So this is really not about the use of force. In terms of the left, Ferguson was not about the use of force, it was not about the use of force on black males in these urban centers, it wasn’t even about policing. It is an objective of seizing control, federal control of these law enforcement agencies and turn them into Gestapo-type members to advance their liberal agenda, their socialist agenda.”

“They always talk about the ends justifying the means and, you know, their intentions are masked, okay?” he added.  “Their true intention is to implement this socialist agenda here in the United States, to get rid of the United States Constitution, get rid of our representative democracy and replace it with control by a few elites. And that’s not just the people who are here right now, because Barack Obama’s just being used by this whole movement because he has the power, but they put him in power.”

Larry Pratt: Second Amendment The Only Thing Saving America From Obama

Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt, who said earlier this year that “the Second Amendment was designed for people just like” President Obama and his fellow Democrats, repeated the sentiment yesterday, saying that the only thing currently saving America is that President Obama knows that “if he goes too far” he’ll face an armed revolt.

Pratt told Houston-based radio host Sam Malone that if Obama doesn’t implement any “gun grabs” before he leaves office, “it won’t be for want of trying.”

“It’s a constant struggle with this guy because he’s convinced that you and I with a gun are a danger,” he said. “But you know what, we probably are, because given the fact that this president we have is lawless, he rules illegally, he makes things up that are totally unconstitutional, totally illegal, well, we had a Second Amendment precisely because of that kind of attitude. It’s to deter that sort of mentality from fully being implemented. And I think that’s what’s probably saving the United States right now from Obama, is that he knows that if he goes too far it’s not going to end well.”

Gun Lobbyist: Dylann Roof Targeted Church 'Populated By Liberals' Because He Knew They'd Unarmed

Immediately after a white gunman killed nine worshippers at a black church in Charleston, South Carolina, last month, Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America started laying blame on the church’s slain pastor, who was also a state senator, for supporting gun control and not allowing concealed weapons in his church.

In an interview with Armed America Radio that was posted online last week, Pratt doubled down, claiming that the shooter, Dylann Roof, targeted a church “populated by liberals” and pastored by “Mr. Anti-Gun” because he knew his victims would be unarmed.

“Since this particular church was pastored by a state senator who was Mr. Anti-Gun,” he said, “then it became pretty obvious that yep, that was a gun-free zone, a bunch of liberal Democrats in there, and the dirtbag that struck, I think knew exactly what he was doing. There’d be plenty of black churches that he could have gone into, and he probably could have met effective resistance, but he went to one where it would be known to be populated by liberals, and then he had open season.”

Pratt made a similar argument about the 2011 mass shooting in Tucson that critically injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, claiming that the shooter “didn’t find any resistance” because Giffords is a Democrat.

Right Wing Round-Up - 6/25/15

Will The Right Reject (Again) A Report on the Threat of Far-Right Extremism?

A new report from New America, released a week after a white supremacist gunned down nine people in a black church in Charleston, finds that since the September 11, 2001, attacks, “nearly twice as many people have been killed by white supremacists, antigovernment fanatics and other non-Muslim extremists than by radical Muslims.”

The New York Times reports that this threat is “familiar to police officers,” three-quarters of whom list antigovernment extremism as a greater threat to their communities than “Al Qaeda-inspired” violence:

If such numbers are new to the public, they are familiar to police officers. A survey to be published this week asked 382 police and sheriff’s departments nationwide to rank the three biggest threats from violent extremism in their jurisdiction. About 74 percent listed antigovernment violence, while 39 percent listed “Al Qaeda-inspired” violence, according to the researchers, Charles Kurzman of the University of North Carolina and David Schanzer of Duke University.

“Law enforcement agencies around the country have told us the threat from Muslim extremists is not as great as the threat from right-wing extremists,” said Dr. Kurzman, whose study is to be published by the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security and the Police Executive Research Forum.

We haven’t heard any right-wing reaction to this report yet. But we aren’t incredibly optimistic that it will be reasonable.

Back in 2009, when the Department of Homeland Security issued a report on countering violent right-wing extremism, the Right went ballistic, with groups including the American Family Association, the American Center for Law and Justice and Concerned Women for America denouncing it as an attack on Christians and veterans.

Liberty Counsel, the Religious Right legal group, even went so far as to print out cards for its members to show their solidarity with the violent right-wing extremists supposedly attacked by this report:

Other right-wing groups started an ad campaign demanding that then-DHS chief Janet Napolitano resign for supposedly having labeled George Washington, Ronald Reagan, Mother Teresa and the pope as “the new terrorists”:

Under pressure, DHS ultimately retracted the report and cut back its team investigating non-Muslim violent extremism, infuriating the self-described conservative Republican analyst who had written the report.

Since then, conservative activists have repeatedly referred back to the report to claim that President Obama is treating all conservatives as potential domestic terrorists, a suspicion that has fed into a number of right-wing conspiracy theories about DHS. Liberty University’s Matt Barber even started defending violent extremists groups just because groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center reported on their activities.

As recently as February, Rep. Ted Poe, Republican of Texas, was complaining on the Family Research Council’s radio program that the Obama administration is “more aggressive toward Americans, Republicans, conservatives, Christians, and concerned about them being threats to the country, which they’re not, than they are about the real threats to our country.”

Never mind that the report focused exclusively on the actual threat of violent, far-right extremism — something that even their strongest detractors aren’t accusing groups like Liberty Counsel and the AFA of being involved in. The Right saw an opportunity to stir up a fake controversy in order to raise money, reinforce the narrative of conservative activists as victims and provoke animosity toward President Obama. In the process they helped make it harder for DHS to investigate a very real threat to American security. But they ended up with a meme that lives to this day.

Gun Lobbyist Ties Charleston Shooting To Transgender Rights

In a radio interview on Monday, Gun Owners of America official Erich Pratt tied the mass shooting at a black church in Charleston to the transgender rights movement, saying both are products of a school system that teaches that “there is no absolute right or wrong.”

“Sadly, I think for a lot of the education that takes place in our country, the kids are being taught, ‘You decide, you decide your own morality.’” he said. “We’re being told that you decide everything from your gender to your own morality.”

This, he said, was the root of the thinking of the Charleston shooter and of Hitler: “Well, if you are in that position where you are autonomous and you decide what’s right and wrong, in this guy’s mind, as sick as it is, he might have thought he was actually doing society a favor. Certainly Hitler did, with his mass murders, he really thought he was doing society a favor. And that’s the problem, if there is no absolute right or wrong. And as we know, that’s not being taught.”

Just one day after the attack in Charleston, Pratt, publicly condemned the church’s slain pastor, Rev. Clementa Pinckney, for his “anti-gun” activism as a state senator. Erich’s father, GOA Executive Director Larry Pratt also blamed Pinckney for leaving his congregation “defenseless” against an attacker.

Pratt: Prepare For 'The Fight Of Our Lives' As Obama Tries To 'Snap the Socialist Vise' On America

Larry Pratt, head of the far-right gun group Gun Owners of America, predictably reacted to last week’s horrific mass shooting at a church in Charleston by blaming the church’s pastor — one of the victims of the shooting — for his vote against a concealed carry law in the state senate and urging his group’s members to start showing up at church armed.

Pratt also lashed out at President Obama for alluding to the difficulty in passing even mild gun regulations in Congress, warning in an interview with WorldNetDaily on Friday that the president is “so incredibly ideologically driven” that he’ll start pushing for tighter gun laws because “he’s only got now less than two years to try to snap the socialist vise on the country.”

“I look at it as a time when we’re going to have the fight of our lives,” he warned.

Gun Lobbyist Larry Pratt Blames 'Anti-Second-Amendment' Pastor For South Carolina Church Shooting

Yesterday, Gun Owners of America’s communications director, Erich Pratt, reacted to the shooting in a church in South Carolina by blaming the church’s pastor, one of the victims of the shooting, for voting against a concealed carry bill in his role as a state senator.

In an interview today with Houston-based talk radio host Sam Malone, GOA’s executive director Larry Pratt (Erich’s father) doubled down on the accusation, claiming that the pastor, Rev. Clementa Pinckney, had left his congregation “defenseless” by opposing a bill that would have required churches to allow the concealed carry of firearms.

“The president and those that look at the world the way he does seem to be unshakably wedded to the idea that no defense is a good defense,” Pratt said, referring to President Obama’s remarks on the shooting. “And there you had a church where this horrible act was committed, where the pastor was a state senator who was a leading anti-Second-Amendment, pro-civilian-disarmament sort of guy. So when the dirtbag struck, he was pretty confident there wasn’t going to be anybody shooting back because they all believed that no defense is a good defense, that’s what they’d been preached about. It’s just, it was so needless. There was nobody who was able to resist.”

“It was a gun-free zone, thanks in part to the pastor, the state senator,” he said, blasting the pastor who supported keeping a policy that allows churches to choose whether or not to allowed concealed carry, or, as Pratt called it, “that stupid provision that if the church wants to be defenseless, that’s fine.”

Ted Cruz Praises Radical Gun Group's Extremism, Credits It With Senate Win

A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Sen. Ted Cruz had agreed to participate in a “tele-town hall meeting” with activists from Gun Owners of America, an extremist gun group led by a far-right activist with a history of ties to militia groups and white supremacists.

GOA has posted audio of the call on YouTube, and it was quite the love-fest. Cruz thanked the “fighters” and “patriots” at GOA for endorsing him when he ran for Senate in 2012, and said that the group “played a critical part in helping get me elected.” Media Matters captured the comment:

Cruz specifically praised GOA’s extremism, saying, "I agree with Ronald Reagan who said we must paint in bold colors and not pale pastels, that's why I'm running and that's one of the things I love about GOA is GOA has never been accused of painting in pale pastels."

GOA definitely does not paint “in pale pastels.” For instance, the group’s executive director, Larry Pratt, is fond of saying that the Second Amendment exists for the purpose of putting the fear of assassination into politicians who disagree with him on gun issues. Just the latest example of this was in April, when Pratt declared, “The Second Amendment was designed for people just like the president and his administration” and “Democrats who want to take our rights.”

In March, he said he hoped President Obama would learn from the example of Charles I, who was executed for treason:

Pratt has even repeatedly said that he hopes Cruz’s colleagues in Congress maintain a “healthy fear” of assassination:

The love between GOA and Cruz is mutual. Pratt frequently sings the praises of the junior senator from Texas, saying that Cruz “ has not disappointed us and I’m certain that he’s not going to disappoint us,” and rejoicing that “everybody understands that Ted Cruz runs the United States House.” The New York Times has described Cruz as Pratt’s “key ally in the Senate.”

Larry Pratt: 'The Second Amendment Was Designed For People Just Like The President' And 'Democrats Who Want To Take Our Rights'

Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, spoke to Roger Fredinburg on his far-right radio show in April about the attempt by Congress to restrict armor-piercing bullets. Pratt, responding to Fredinburg’s theory that the left wants to take away everyone’s rifles, said “we figured that’s kinda what they were up to.”

“The Second Amendment was designed for people just like the president and his administration,” Pratt said. “And yes, if the New York Times and the Rolling Stone, and whoever else wants to have a hissy fit, yes, our guns are in our hands for people like those in our government right now that think they wanna go tyrannical on us, we’ve got something for ‘em. That’s what it’s all about.”

“The Second Amendment,” he continued, “is not about hunting, it’s not about target shooting, it’s about Democrats who want to take our rights.”

Fredinburg, building off of the tyrannical Democrats theory, argued that “if you’re a Christian or subscribe to traditional Judeo-Christian values today, you’re considered a hate monger...if you’re a pervert, a deviant, a derelict, you know someone who’s captured by a decadent lifestyle, whatever, your rights are protected. But the good people, their rights are not being protected.”  Pratt, agreeing that the left hates guns and religion, replied, “What a rhetorical sleight of hand, isn’t it?  They say they’re for diversity, they say they’re for freedom of speech, and ‘you’re free to say anything you’d like as long as you agree with me.’ What hypocrites!”

Larry Pratt: Obama Follows In Hitler's Footsteps, Creating A Race War To Take Away Our Guns

We recently noted that Sen. Ted Cruz has agreed to be the “first of several” Republican presidential candidates to join the far-right gun group Gun Owners of America in “tele-Town Hall” conferences to make their case for the group’s endorsement. This is problematic for a number of reasons, including that the gun group’s executive director, Larry Pratt, is a fringe extremist who enjoys threatening Democratic elected officials with assassination and warning of an impending Obama-led race war.

Although Pratt has indulged in race-war speculation a number of times, when Alan Colmes asked him about those comments last year, he denied ever making them, saying that when he discusses a “black force” he is taking about ninjas. Even so, we were not exactly surprised to hear Pratt asked yet again about an Obama-led “black race war” and to hear him respond that such a thing indeed exists and is a plot to take away everyone’s guns.

Back in January, Pratt appeared on the far-right radio show “Voices of Global Freedom,” hosted by a man who goes by Roy “Backpack Baron” and his friend “Yoda,” where he spoke for an hour about the danger of President Obama taking away Americans’ guns. “Yoda” questioned Pratt as to how he sees gun regulation “tying in with [Obama’s] brazen support, with Al Sharpton and others, despite the cop ambush in New York and Vegas and elsewhere, he’s brazenly supporting this black race war. How, if at all, does this tie into our guns?”

Pratt responded that said race war is an idea “right out of Saul Alinsky,” whom he called Obama’s “intellectual mentor.” He argued Obama is following Alinsky’s “idea that you create a crisis so that you can so disorient society so that it begins to collapse.”

“Yoda” went on to argue that Obama, like Vladimir Lenin, believes “the best way to confiscate guns is a thorough comprehensive registration.”

Pratt took this argument one step further, stating that historically “it’s not just Lenin” who used gun registration laws to disenfranchise citizens, but “it’s pretty much anybody that has ever gone after the people’s guns…Hitler built on the Weimar German registration of firearms and went after the Jews first …And that’s pretty typical of how these elitist governments operate. And it becomes dangerous when they have a very aggressive anti-this or that group type of ideology. Lenin was against the middle class farmers beginning in Ukraine. Hitler was against the Jews.”

“Yoda” was able to connect the dots, asking his viewers to question if there is a “coincidence with what Obama is doing and what did Hitler do.”

Larry Pratt: Obama 'Has Made It Very Clear He Doesn't Like The United States'

Larry Pratt, the far-right conspiracy theorist executive director of Gun Owners of America, who will be hosting a presidential campaign call with Sen. Ted Cruz next week, claimed last month that President Obama has “made it very clear he doesn’t like the United States” and that “he thinks that Christianity is at best on par with jihad.”

Pratt told fringe conservative commentator Stuart Vener that Obama ”doesn’t like people speaking against the dirt bag Muhammad like I just did, he thinks that that is a name to be revered, he thinks that Christianity at best is on par with jihad.”

Agreeing with Vener’s claim that Obama “wants to take everyone’s guns away,” Pratt hailed former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani for “speaking the truth” when he alleged that the president doesn’t love America.

Denouncing Islam as a “extremely murderous, extremely violent” religion, Pratt praises the Europeans who finally “got themselves together” during the Crusades to get “rid of the Muslim dirt bags”.

We’d also like to note that the cohost for Vener’s show, “Stuart Vener Tells It Like It Is!,” is a genie.

Ted Cruz Panders To Assassination-Threatening, Race-Baiting Gun Lobbyist Larry Pratt

Gun Owners of America, the radical and influential gun group that boasts that it is far to the right of the NRA, announced in an email to its members yesterday that it will be holding a series of “tele-town hall meetings” with Republican presidential candidates in order to vet the candidates on their gun-law orthodoxy.

The “first of several” calls, to be held next week, will feature Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a clear favorite of Gun Owners of America’s executive director, Larry Pratt.

While it’s unclear which other GOP candidates have agreed to participate in GOA’s calls, it’s disturbing that any have agreed to associate themselves with the far-right group and with Pratt.

GOA promotes an extreme, “no compromise” ideology that has helped to pull the NRA to the right and to sink any attempts at bipartisan gun law reform. But what is even more troubling is Pratt’s long history of pushing dangerous paranoia to the far right, encouraging firearms ownership as a way to stave off race riots and government takeovers and making frequent references to assassinating political leaders.

Pratt has long stood at the intersection of the “mainstream” right, Christian nationalists, and fringe militia movements. In 1996, he was forced to step down from a position on Pat Buchanan’s presidential campaign when it came to light that he had spoken at a militia event featuring a number of neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic activists. Several years earlier, Pratt had coauthored what the Southern Poverty Law Center calls the book that “introduced the concept of citizen militias to the radical right.”

A few days after the Oklahoma City bombing, he spoke to a far-right “Christian Patriots” group on the “biblical mandate to arm,” telling them that whoever had taken on the government “beast” in Oklahoma knew that “they can’t rely on the Lord to take vengeance.”

Pratt continues to promote an anti-government paranoia, urging citizens to arm themselves against a repressive government and make their elected officials fear assassination.

On his radio show in March, Pratt said that he hoped President Obama would learn from the example of Charles I, who was executed for treason in 1649:

In an interview last year, Pratt said that being afraid of assassination was “a healthy fear” for members of Congress to have, because that’s what makes them “behave.” When Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-NY, who had felt threatened by one of GOA’s members, complained about his comments, Pratt doubled down, saying that elected officials should fear “the cartridge box” and accusing the congresswoman of being “foolish” and having “a hissy fit.” Later, he boasted that Democratic proponents of stricter gun laws are “afraid of getting shot and they ought to be!”

Pratt also pushes all manner of conspiracy theories regarding President Obama. He has claimed that Obama is building up a private security force within the Department of Homeland Security to use for his own purposes “if he can’t actually commandeer the military”; warned that Obama will enlist undocumented immigrants into a private “Praetorian guard” and advise police officers to go after people with conservative bumper stickers; said Obamacare will ultimately “take away your guns”; feared Obama is stockpiling “anti-personnel rounds” because he “seems to view the American people as the enemy”; claimed that Obama “had to steal” the 2012 presidential election and even buys into the fringe birther theory that holds that the president’s “real father” was labor activist Frank Marshall Davis.

Pratt repeatedly suggests that President Obama will seek to bring violence against white Christians, possibly in the form of race riots. In a 2013 conversation with far-right pundit Stan Solomon, Pratt predicted that “there is inevitably going to be some kind of social implosion, some kind of neighbor-against-neighbor” violence brought about by “these folks in power.” When Solomon predicted that that “implosion” would take the form of a race war pitting “black, Muslim and/or atheist…have-nots” on “Christian, heterosexual white haves,” Pratt replied that he wasn’t “stretching” anything.

In a separate interview, Pratt agreed with Solomon that Obama “would definitely be capable of something as evil” as raising what Solomon called “a black force” to massacre white Americans. Pratt later denied that their conversation had anything to do with race, insisting that it was really about ninjas, but said that such a racial massacre was “something that the president wouldn’t mind seeing.” Pratt holds that this race war will then allow Obama and Hillary Clinton to “build their own communist society” in the race war’s wreckage.

Pratt’s reaction to recent protests of police brutality and racial inequality have taken a similar tone. Earlier this month, he suggested that there would be no problems in Baltimore if armed citizens had simply shot dead anyone who rioted; in 2013, he blamed Trayvon Martin’s death on the teen’s “broken family.” On his radio program last year, he mused that “the African from Africa” is generally “a very happy person” and could therefore “approach some of their fellow blacks” in America to teach them to exhibit less “surliness.”

And Pratt’s reprehensible politics don’t stop there. In the 1980s, he called for a quarantine of people with AIDS, saying, “We don’t think AIDS should have civil rights.” He opposes immigration reform because he says it will bring in people who will be “sitting around drawing welfare and voting Democrat” and who will support firearms restrictions.

Despite all this, Ted Cruz and apparently other Republican presidential candidates are choosing to pander to Pratt and his group’s members.

Takeover! Jade Helm 15 And Eight Other Obama Plots That Keep The Right Up at Night

It seems that radical right-wing conspiracy theorists have the ear of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who recently ordered the Texas State Guard to monitor a U.S. military exercise called Jade Helm 15. According to many of these far-right activists, Jade Helm 15 is part of a secret effort to take over conservative states like Texas, impose martial lawconfiscate people’s firearmsround up “patriotic men,” force people into cattle cars and lock them up in Wal-Marts that have been converted into FEMA camps.

Abbott has since tried to distance himself from the conspiracy theory, but Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Tex., has demanded — and apparently received — a meeting with military leaders over the matter.

Jade Helm 15 is just the latest in a litany of far-right conspiracy theories about President Obama planning a military takeover of the country. While none of the theories has ever actually panned out, far-right pundits and activists keep inventing new ones, insisting that whoever doesn’t agree with them either doesn’t see the truth or is enabling Obama’s dictatorial agenda.

Remember: Obama’s plot against America goes all the way back to his birth…

1) Barack the Baby Communist

Faith 2 Action founder Janet Porter, who recently worked with Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul and several GOP candidates on a film about how the gay rights movement will “criminalize Christianity,” revealed to WorldNetDaily readers just two weeks into Obama’s first term that she had learned through a chain email that the president had been planted as a baby by Russian communists who would use him to take over America.

“I can’t prove whether it’s true or not, but in light of all that is happening, it just doesn’t seem that far-fetched anymore,” Porter wrote, claiming that the letter was “not some e-mail scam” and that she personally reached out to its source to confirm the details.

According to the email’s author, during the early 1990s he met two Russian scientists, spouses “V.M” and “T.M,” who told him that “you will have a black president very soon and he will be a Communist” … named “Barack.” The Russians continued:

This is not some idle talk. He is already born, and he is educated and being groomed to be president right now. You will be impressed to know that he has gone to the best schools of presidents. He is what you call ‘Ivy League.’ You don’t believe me, but he is real and I even know his name. His name is Barack. His mother is white and American and his father is black from Africa. That’s right, a chocolate baby! And he’s going to be your president.

It’s all been thought out. His father is not an American black, so he won’t have that social slave stigma. He is intelligent and he is half white and has been raised from the cradle to be an atheist and a Communist. He’s gone to the finest schools. He is being guided every step of the way and he will be irresistible to America

The female scientist seemed to know a lot about this young man: “She rattled off a complete litany. He was from Hawaii. He went to school in California. He lived in Chicago. He was soon to be elected to the Legislature. ‘Have no doubt: he is one of us, a Soviet …. [H]e will be a blessing for world Communism. We will regain our strength and become the number one power in the world.’ She continued with something to the effect that America was at the same time the great hope and the great obstacle for Communism. America would have to be converted to Communism, and Barack was going to pave the way.”

A few right-wing activists tried to find proof of this arrangement, alleging that Communist Party mentored and indoctrinated Obama — possibly with the help of marijuana and his “real fatherFrank Marshall Davis — into “Marxism and an anti-White world view.”

As it turned out, every single word in this chain email was true! Maybe. And now, Obama is on the brink of taking over America with his secret squads of Obamacare militias, immigrants, African Americans and/or foreign troops.

2) Obamacare Squads

Before joining the Family Research Council, retired Army Lieutenant General Jerry Boykin released a video with the far-right group the Oak Initiative suggesting that Obama is leading a “Marxist insurgency” in the U.S. He claimed that Obama inserted into the Affordable Care Act a measure that would create a personal army reminiscent of Adolf Hitler’s Brownshirts, warning that the president was “laying the groundwork for a constabulary force that will control the population in America.”

Boykin cited a provision in the health care act which prepares medical professionals to respond to emergencies such as a hurricane, along with a 2008 speech that then-candidate Obama delivered about the need to increase funding for groups such as the Peace Corps and AmericaCorps as part of a “civilian national security force,” a move backed by the Bush administration.

Several years later, the Obamacare brownshirts still haven’t materialized, but the 2008 speech remains a source of fodder for conservatives who believe, as then-Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., put it shortly after Obama’s election, that Obama was doing “exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did.”

Liberty Counsel head Mat Staver agreed with Boykin’s assessment, warning that the health care law created a Brownshirt-style military force loyal to the president.

Porter joined in in 2012, claiming that FEMA Corps, which trains young people to work in disaster response, might actually be “a standing army to stifle dissent” and “part of a new civilian security force that President Obama has called for in speeches.” WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah, who once alleged that Obama sent a secret signal to Muslims to “finish” the Holocaust against the Jews, similarly warned that Obama would soon “move to shut down and destroy all independent media” and would make sure that “his biggest critics will be rounded up in the name of national security.”

3) About That Executive Order…

In 2012, when Obama issued an emergency preparedness executive order similar to ones issued by presidents since Dwight Eisenhower, some right-wing commentators went ballistic since this time, the president was Obama!

Buster Wilson, then a radio host with the American Family Association’s radio network, claimed that the executive order created “the president’s version of the Brownshirts” that was equivalent to “Hitler’s own private civilian army.” Wilson also wondered if the government was setting up FEMA camps stocked with plastic coffins for mass graves.

“He is openly implementing martial law in this country,” InfoWars host Alex Jones said about the executive order. The executive order, Jones claimed, declared that administration officials would have the power to “secretly arrest Americans and disappear us any time they want” and build “the domestic security force that’s just as big and just as strong as the military Obama’s always talked about as the ‘FEMA Corps.’”

One congressman, then-Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, suggested that the president would use the executive order to seize total power. In fact, Stockman speculated that Obama may have deliberately brought Ebola to America in order to create a crisis to justify the implementation of his order granting himself “emergency powers to take over control of the economy and everything.”

4) Ebola! Remember That?

Last year, four people were diagnosed with Ebola while in the U.S., two after travelling from West Africa and two after caring for an Ebola patient at a hospital in Texas. In the eyes of conservatives, this was a widespread pandemic that was all Obama’s fault.

According to Stockman, Obama may have had an “intentional” plan to bring Ebola into the U.S. “in order to create a greater crisis to use it as a blunt force to say, well in order to solve this crisis we’re going to have to take control of the economy and individuals and so forth…. [T]here may be an overreaction where the government starts taking away the rights of those that aren’t that necessarily involved or need that to happen. I hope that’s not that case but, as you know, this current government uses crisis to advance their philosophy and their agenda.”

Conservative talk show host Michael Savage claimed Obama “might use Ebola as a pretext” to “gain even more power.”

“He wants an insurrection,” Savage declared. “He wants a pretext. He wants his Kristallnacht. He wants to take the guns, he wants to arrest people, he wants to detain people for their own safety.”

Radio host Rick Wiles predicted that Ebola was part of “a carefully crafted plan to dismantle the United States of America,” as it would be used “as the cover to round up patriots who resist the takedown of the republic” and set up “Ebola Barry’s Ebola Recovery and Re-Education Camps.”

Another far-right radio host, Laurie Roth, predicted that Obama would deliberately fuel an Ebola outbreak in order to “create a guise to declare martial law due to created outbreaks,” giving him the power to “control speech, food, travel and health care” and even “demand adults and children take some sort of mandated/mystery vaccination that kills off even more people”:

My prediction is that a forced vaccination plan from Obama and his administration is on its way. This will not only allow someone put in control (so Obama can’t be blamed) to release something potentially fatal into our system, but also act as a tracker – the complete end of our privacy and freedom.

Columnists for WorldNetDialy alleged that Ebola was part of Obama’s “orchestrated” plan to cancel the 2016 election, “‘legitimize’ a declaration of martial law in America” and make use of “the $1 billion worth of disposable FEMA coffins supposedly stored in Georgia.”

Prior to the Ebola scare, Porter took to WorldNetDaily to predict that Obama would use swine flu to “round up American citizens” and force them into FEMA concentration camps. She also told WorldNetDaily readers that the president, emulating Nazi Germany and Soviet Union, would create “a food shortage” to see that people are “starved to death.”

5) Obama’s Race War Ruse

Since predictions about Obama’s dastardly plan to infect all other Americans with the Ebola virus in order to seize power didn’t exactly come true, conservative activists have turned to recent demonstrations over issues such as racial profiling as another Obama-orchestrated plot to take control of the country.

Glenn Beck, once again citing Obama’s frequently distorted 2008 speech, said that the riots that broke out during demonstrations in Baltimore in April were part of a “set-up” by the government to engineer civil strife in order to justify a federal takeover of local police units. And, once that happens, “it’s lights out, republic.”

“This is the biggest show ever,” Beck said. “Those riots in Baltimore; that wasn’t real.”

Beck went on to say that this manufactured crisis will soon lead to a full-blown genocide in which millions of people, including Beck himself, will perish.

Others in the right-wing media took similar views. Wiles claimed that protests in Ferguson, Missouri, were all part of a plot to enable “Emperor Obama” to “start a civil war,” which would give him a reason to implement stringent gun control so people could no longer “protect themselves from tyrants.” His fellow conservative talk show host Jesse Lee Peterson said that Obama brought “chaos” to Baltimore just so “he can federalize the police departments around the country.” WorldNetDaily columnist Morgan Brittany claimed that the Baltimore riots were “planned” by the government, which she said is bent on “stirring up unrest” in order to give Obama the justification “to institute martial law to preserve order, form a national police force and postpone the 2016 elections.”

Savage, the conservative radio host, even went so far as to allege that Obama started the riots as a way to send arms to gang members under the pretext of preserving order: “It’s a race war. These are their shock troops, they don’t have the brown shirts yet, they don’t have the armbands, but soon Obama could deputize them. Isn’t that a natural army for him? Take the Crips and the Bloods, give them a green uniform and give them a weapon and they’ll keep order in the streets.”

Well before the Ferguson and Baltimore demonstrations, Gun Owners of America head Larry Pratt and far-right pundit Stan Solomon predicted that the president would create a “black force” that would massacre any white people who resisted his plans.

In another interview, Pratt accused Obama of hoping to “bring violence” and “some kind of social implosion to America” as a way to keep power, with Solomon warning of “an explosion of attacks on haves by have-nots” and “more specifically on white haves by black have-nots; more specifically on Christian, heterosexual white haves by black, Muslim and/or atheist — not that there’s much difference — black have-nots.”

6) Bundy Ranch Standoff

The short-lived standoff between federal law enforcement and Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher and Fox News darling who refused to pay grazing fees for his cattle or to recognize the legal authority of the U.S. government, gave another opportunity for right-wing commentators to warn of an imminent federal takeover spurred on by Obama-instigated violence.

WorldNetDaily columnist Erik Rush pointed to the Bundy standoff as proof that “the federal government intends to control everything,” including “our food supply.” Denouncing President Obama as a someone who “embodies the diabolical Manchurian President, clandestinely working to destroy America,” Rush warned that the Bundy standoff might have been a test case for imminent FEMA camp internment.

“Do we wait until a family is slaughtered because they opened fire on government agents executing an illegal raid on their home?” he asked. “Do we wait until Department of Homeland Security operatives come around to arrest ‘domestic terrorists’ as designated by Harry Reid and ship them off to FEMA camps?”

Televangelist Gordon Klingenschmitt, who has since been elected to the Colorado legislature, said that the federal government dug “mass graves” near the ranch to hold the bodies of the “cowboys” they planned to murder. Wiles had a similar theory:

Civil unrest is brewing, the Obamanistas have tried a number of tactics to insult and infuriate the American people to respond with violence…. I expect dirty Harry Reid and his Washington sidekick Barry Soetoro will send federal agents back to Nevada this summer and my fear is that federal snipers will take out a bunch of cowboys and militia men.

Stewart Rhodes, the founder of Oath Keepers, a radical group which fears that concentration camps are coming to the U.S., stopped by a press conference at the National Press Club to deliver a “message for the feds out there” and the “idiot” Obama that the Bundy standoff could have “kicked off a civil war in this country.” Mike Vanderboegh of the Three Percenters militia said that officials such as Harry Reid were “promising us all civil war on a vast scale” through “state-sponsored violence” intended to crush freedom.

7) Obama’s Immigrant Army

Not only will Obama have loyal armies of doctors, AmeriCorps members, black protesters and gang members, but he will also, according to several conspiracy theorists, create a force of undocumented immigrants — specifically young Central American refugees escaping the drug war — to do his bidding.

Pratt, the gun lobbyist, claimed last year that Obama was forming a private “Praetorian Guard” composed of undocumented immigrants, each “loyal to the guy that brought him” into the country.

Anti-immigrant activist William Gheen offered his own version of this prediction, alleging that the federal government was “going to give the illegal immigrants badges, they’re going to give them guns, and they’re going to put them in positions of authority over Americans in every way imaginable. So when you step out your door and there’s a knock at the door, you’re going to be looking at the new face of the state, which is the prior illegal immigrants that now have a badge and a gun and dominion over you.”

Gheen added that the Obama administration was “supporting the organized and well-funded illegal alien invasion of our homeland” and therefore has “the blood of many thousands of Americans on their hands that have been killed, injured raped and robbed by illegal immigrants,” warning that “center-right, Christian, heterosexual” men were particularly at risk.

Gheen even told Jones, the “InfoWars” host, that the young immigrants were the pawns and child soldiers of U.S. “elites” who want to subjugate patriotic Christians: “They’re willing to literally say and do anything that their new masters call on them to do to protect their position. Once Obama rams these ‘kids’ in, gives them their Obamaphone, enrolls them in Obamacare, puts them in a public school, pays for their housing, pays for their food…these people will do anything that their leaders call on them to do and I do mean anything.”

Alan Keyes wondered if Obama, whom he thinks wants to become America’s “Führer,” was “importing” immigrants “in order to facilitate what I think is an overthrow of our Constitution.”

WorldNetDaily’s resident health “expert” Elizabeth Lee Vliet claimed that the government would use a “flood of illegals” who carry exotic diseases to “overwhelm and collapse the economic and social systems, in order to replace them with a ‘new socialist order’ under federal control.”

8) Obama’s Atheist/Islamic/Canadian/Alien Army

Building off the birther conspiracy theory that Obama is not a U.S.-born citizen and the general right-wing belief that he is not a real American, several conservative activists believe that the president will use foreign forces, outside of just immigrants and health care workers, to oppress Americans.

According to Bill Federer, a Religious Right “historian,” the Arab Spring was designed by nefarious forces who wanted to create a surge in Muslim refugees who would then settle in the U.S. in order to establish Islamic “sleeper cells.” Soon, these sleeper cells would “get a signal to have Ferguson riots in malls across America,” which would give Obama the justification to “restore order” by setting up a “militarized dictatorship.” Obama, Federer warned, could follow in the footsteps of Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong and Pol Pot in killing millions of Christians.

Federer cited a man named Avi Lipkin, who apparently heard from his wife, who heard from an unspecified Arabic-language broadcast, about a plot to bring millions of Muslim refugees into the country in order to bring about Sharia law. Lipkin alleged that Obama was “going to bring in 50 to 100 million Muslims” and settle them in national parks and “lands confiscated by Agenda 21” — a sustainable development initiative that is at the center of its very own right-wing conspiracy theory — ultimately forcing America to “surrender its Christianity” in the face of a new “Muslim majority.” Then, Obama would establish a “dictatorship” … with the help of “the Masons, the Illuminati [and] the Trilateral Commission.”

Lipkin and Federer, however, don’t hold a candle to Jim Garrow, a right-wing activist who believes that Obama tried to kill 300 million Americans with an EMP attack for the sake of enriching George Soros and giving him the chance to live in a luxurious bunker underneath the White House. Garrow also believes that Obama will try to improve his poll numbers by claiming that he is able to communicate with aliens, but if they plummet any further and Americans start to revolt, then Obama will “ask [Canadian Prime Minister Stephen] Harper to send troops into America to help quell the rioting and vice versa.”

Garrow shared his very plausible anti-Obama conspiracy theories with far-right radio hosts including Wiles, Rush and Jones. Garrow told Jones in detail about Obama’s EMP plot, which he said was only stopped as a result of divine intervention, along with the president’s failed plan to detonate a nuclear device near Charleston, South Carolina. Fortunately, the nuke, Garrow said, was detonated safely off the coast by heroic military officials. He cited the deaths of dolphins (who were likely killed by the BP oil spill) as proof.

Jones talked to another “real source” about the need to “brace for a nuclear attack in South Carolina,” who alleged that Charleston was the target because of the presence of U.S. submarines: “This is a false flag operation, a major false flag, that is about to occur because if they take out our naval base in Charleston, they will cripple about one-third of our fleet ballistic missile submarine force.”

“Everything they are doing is like trying to set America up,” Jones replied, wondering if “Obama is like a triple agent of the globalists, we know that, and they are maneuvering America towards a set-up to destroy us and then Homeland Security will then detonate nukes in all of our bases as an inside sneak attack.”

“This ultimately reeks of yet another false flag being orchestrated by the United States government in order to send us into war,” Jones said in another commentary about the matter. “I just wish to God that this wasn’t happening,” he said.

This is the same Alex Jones who launched Jade Helm 15 into the GOP mainstream and led to such a fear that the governor of Texas ordered the National Guard to monitor the U.S. military during the drill.

Of course, when one conspiracy theory fails to materialize, radio hosts like Alex Jones just move on to the next one, and then eventually, Republican politicians just move along with them.

As Rick Santorum found out, among the party’s base — as many of one-third of whom think Obama will invade Texas — at least some people think that it is an established fact that “Obama tried to blow up a nuke in Charleston.”

Larry Pratt Blames Jade Helm Panic On President Obama

Speaking with “Infowars” host Alex Jones last week, Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt acknowledged that the right-wing panic over the Jade Helm 15 military exercise is purely due to a dislike of President Obama.

“If Operation Jade Helm were being conducted under a President Paul or President Cruz or President Walker, three of the conservative frontrunners I guess we could say, we might be watching to see what’s happening, but we wouldn’t have the same inability to accept what the administration is saying,” he said. “This administration has not earned our trust. They have lied repeatedly. So even if what they’re saying happens to be true, who’s to know?”

Jones — who was instrumental in pushing the Jade Helm conspiracy theory before it broke into the Republican mainstream —  heartily agreed, saying, “The president is acting as a dictator more and more, Congress is letting him do it, and it might be too little too late, who knows what power grab he may pull. This shows a little of that old American instinct, like Ronald Reagan said, to ‘trust but verify.’”

Jones told Pratt that “everybody knows” that the Obama administration is “training the military to take on vets and gun owners, and saying we’re the threat, not Al Qaeda or ISIS,” to which Pratt added that the administration is trying to fire military officers who believe in the Constitution.

Larry Pratt: Baltimore Would Be Peaceful If Rioters Had Been Shot Dead

In a recent interview, Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt responded to demonstrations and riots in Baltimore by insisting that they would not have been a problem if police and armed citizens had simply shot rioters dead.

“This should be a wakeup call, if one were still needed, for Americans to arm themselves and be vigilant and, frankly, to know who your neighbors are,” Pratt said on the “Liberty Roundtable” last week, “and if, God forbid, something like Baltimore were to loom as a possibility where you live, that you and your neighbors would be able to hopefully head it off before it gets as bad as Baltimore got. Because one thing I’m pretty sure of is if the bad boys see that this is not going to be taking candy from a baby, that you break a window, you get shot. ‘Oops!’”

When the program’s host, Sam Bushman, suggested that “Eric Holder or the next attorney general or Barack Obama or somebody else from above” was “calling the shots” during the riots in Baltimore, Pratt responded that that was “a reasonable supposition” although Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was probably just acting like a “hardcore liberal.”

Rawlings-Blake, Pratt said, should have simply demanded that “the first time one of the demonstrators looked cross-eyed, they got arrested, and then if they had broken a window, shot.”

“Then, it seems to me, we wouldn’t even still know where Baltimore is,” he said.

Later in the interview Pratt repeated his belief that “we need to deal more firmly with those that would try to create the sort of disorder.”

“So at the first instance of collective criminal activity, ‘Boom!’ In comes the paddy wagon, off they go,” he said. “And if they start violating persons or destroying property, ‘Bang!’ Then you don’t need a paddy wagon. “

Larry Pratt: I'd Take New Citizen's Voter Card And 'Rip It Up Right In Front Of Their Face'

Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt has consistently opposed any type of comprehensive immigration reform because he insists that if undocumented immigrants are allowed a path to citizenship, they will eventually “vote to take away our guns.”

Pratt repeated this point in an interview with far-right radio host Andrea Shea King last month, when he lamented that Sen. Marco Rubio, although he “is an attractive conservative on many issues,” worked on the Gang of Eight immigration reform bill “which meant all these anti-Second Amendment voters were being cued up to come and vote against the Second Amendment.”

King tried to defend Rubio, citing an interview he gave to the Washington Examiner during the debate over the Gang of Eight bill in which he said that if Congress failed to act on immigration, the president would issue an executive order deferring deportation for some immigrants, and “I cannot imagine a scenario where a future president is going to take away the status they're going to get.”

“It’s impossible, once you’ve given them amnesty, you rescind the amnesty,” King said.

“Well, I would,” Pratt responded, “and I would have no problem doing it. I’d come and take that voter card right out of their hand and rip it up in front of their face.”

Larry Pratt, founder of Gun Owners of America, joined Dr. Dave Janda on his far-right radio program “Operation Freedom” last week in a conversation that compared the care provided by Planned Parenthood to medical experiments in Nazi Germany. Janda claimed that “from a medical standpoint, selling fetuses, selling human parts, I mean we might as well take that back to Nazi Germany for God’s sakes.” Planned Parenthood’s engagement in legal tissue donation for medical research prompted Pratt to suggest that “maybe Planned Parenthood could replace their... In an interview on VCY America’s “Crosstalk” program on August 4, Pratt fielded a question from a caller who asked what Americans can do “when the man in the Oval Office lacks competence” and is... A Florida gun shop owner is facing a lawsuit after declaring his business to be a “Muslim-free zone” because he refuses to “arm and train those who wish to do harm to my fellow people.” This stance has, unsurprisingly, earned the shop owner the approval of Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, who told the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow yesterday that “if they don't want to sell to the enemy, then good for them." "These are private stores and they're free to do what they wish," says Larry Pratt of Gun... MORE >

Back in March, a task force that President Obama convened to create recommendations for local policing in wake of the Ferguson protests released its report, which included nonbinding recommendations that local law enforcement track and share various statistics and work to increase trust within their communities. This, of course, did not sit well with Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt, who invited the Tea Party’s favorite sheriff, David Clarke of Milwaukee County, onto his radio program this weekend to discuss how the presidential task force’s report is actually part of... Pratt told Houston-based radio host Sam Malone that if Obama doesn’t implement any “gun grabs” before he leaves office, “it won’t be for want of trying.” “It’s a constant... MORE >

A new report from New America, released a week after a white supremacist gunned down nine people in a black church in Charleston, finds that since the September 11, 2001, attacks, “nearly twice as many people have been killed by white supremacists, antigovernment fanatics and other non-Muslim extremists than by radical Muslims.” The New York Times reports that this threat is “familiar to police officers,” three-quarters of whom list antigovernment extremism as a greater threat to their communities than “Al Qaeda-inspired” violence: If such numbers are...
