Add Sandy Rios of the American Family Association to the growing list of conservatives who believe President Obama may try to remain in office after his second term ends.
A listener called into Rios’ American Family Radio program this morning to predict that “Obama is not going to step down” from office, much like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, because “he’s going to enact martial law” and possibly stoke a “civil war.”
Rios, naturally, agreed with the listener’s assessment, suggesting that Obama may follow Chávez in seizing complete control over the government through “democratic means.”
“Your warning is very justified,” she said. “I had a South American leader who was teaching me these things who said, ‘This is what we see Obama doing from a distance, the very same thing, the method that’s being taught by — ,’ I don’t know exactly who wrote it down but Fidel Castro was in the center of all of it, this new way of taking over governments. So the warning that you give is very justified.”
She ended by agreeing that we should all pray for Obama not to grab total power.
