Candace Owens: Conservatives Must Take Over Culture, As We Did During the Renaissance

Turning Point USA’s Candace Owens, who is currently under fire within her own organization for comments in which she seemed to downplay Hitler’s murder of millions of people, spoke at CPAC today, where she said that the key to winning black voters over to the Republican Party is for conservatives to take over popular culture.

And taking over culture should be easy for conservatives, she said, because culture was created hundreds of years ago by those who believed in God.

“It’s common sense to me that conservatives need to start invading culture,” Owens said, “because we are the party that believes first and foremost in God. And in case you guys forgot, it was our belief in God and Judeo-Christian values that inspired culture in the first place. Florence [Italy] is arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It’s dripping with some of the greatest masterpieces from the Renaissance. It was an explosion of art, of design, or aesthetic sensibility, and almost 100 percent inspired by God, Christianity, and the church.”

“Conservatives, we are culture,” she declared.
