On his “Focal Point” radio program yesterday, the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer rebuked a “curse” that had supposedly been placed on Trump-supporting evangelicals by conservative writer David French in a recent column.
Last week, French penned “An Open Letter to Trump’s Evangelical Defenders” in which he chastised conservative Christian activists who willingly overlook or even excuse President Trump’s immoral behavior for the sake of political gain and quoted a passage from Isaiah declaring “woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
Fischer declared that in quoting this verse, French had invoked “a curse over us” and took it upon himself to rebuke that curse.
“That’s a curse,” he said. “Heavenly Father, I come before you to rebuke this curse, to break the power of this curse over evangelicals who read this and hear this, pray that you will break the power of this curse over them and every place where Satan has intended to curse, I pray that you would release blessing.”
