Matt Barber Celebrates The Fourth Of July By Warning That America Is On The Verge Of Judgment

On Friday’s installment of the “Faith and Freedom” radio broadcast, Matt Barber said that he would be celebrating Independence Day by praying that God will withhold His judgment from this nation because America is on the verge of total destruction.

As co-host Mat Staver explained, our entire system of government was built upon the self-evident fact that God exists, declaring this to be so obvious that “any idiot” ought to be able to see it, just as everyone knows that the sun rises in the East.

“The fact that there is a God who’s a creator and we are endowed by these liberties,” Staver said, “is self-evident truth.”

Barber agreed, warning that “we are either in judgment as a nation or approaching judgment as a nation because we have, as a nation and our nation’s leadership has turned its back on God and the Judeo-Christian principles of our founding.”

Paraphrasing Ruth Graham, Barber then said that if God doesn’t destroy America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah, adding that he was going to spend his Independence Day focusing on the hope that America will fall to its knees and pray in order to turn away God’s inevitable hand of judgment:
