GOP State Rep.: Muslim-American Groups Leading An ‘Insurgency’ In US

Oklahoma State Rep. John Bennett joined End Times broadcaster Rick Wiles on his “Trunews” radio program last Tuesday to warn that American Muslim groups are leading an “insurgency in the United States” that aims to take down the U.S. from the inside.

Bennett has attacked Islam as “a cancer in our nation that needs to be cut out” and recently held a hearing with conspiracy theorists John Guandolo and Frank Gaffney where he alleged that that Muslim-American groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the North American Islamic Trust and the Islamic Society of North America “are here to destroy us” and are “the enemy.”

The Republican state lawmaker told Wiles that such groups should not be allowed to operate freely in Oklahoma because they back “subversion.”

“They are coopting and using the interfaith groups, and these people are so naïvely going along with this,” he said. “This is no doubt an insurgency in the United States and it is working for them because nobody is holding them accountable. And if you try to, they come out against you and they play the victim role and people are falling for it like you wouldn’t believe.”

Bennett then claimed that Muslim-American organizations are conspiring against him and his family, claiming that CAIR had put him on a “hit list.” A representative from CAIR, he said, had filmed his recent swearing-in ceremony, which he suggested he was tempted to meet with violence.

“It infuriated me,” he said. “It made me want to do some things that I might have regretted later, but that is part of their tactics too. They want me to react that way.”
