Pat Robertson: Christians New Victims Of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

Pat Robertson, who has long been deeply troubled by the presence of gay people in the military, claimed today that the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell has “turned the tables” and made Christians in the military the real victims of oppression.

“‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ used to refer to gays in the military, now it could apply to Christians in uniform,” he said.

Following a “700 Club” segment by Christian Broadcasting Network reporter Chuck Holton on chaplains who claim that they are facing pressure not to condemn homosexuality, Robertson accused the military of suppressing the rights of chaplains. A military service member, he said, “doesn’t need some communist or some socialist or some progressive giving him pablum and some doctrine of political correctness.”

“If we being to muzzle our chaplains, God help us,” Robertson said.
