GOP Congressman: Bombing ISIS Is An Obama ‘Political Move’ For Election Season

Rep. John Fleming said yesterday that the bombing campaign against the extremist group ISIS is just President Obama playing politics with U.S. foreign policy.

My fear, Tony, is that this is politics, we’re running up upon an election, the president after those two public beheadings had to take some action,” the Louisiana Republican told Family Research Council president and “Washington Watch” host Tony Perkins. “It has the appearance, unfortunately, of a political move and is probably timed just right. The problem is we need the president and Congress to establish strategies and policies that are going to be successful, not just do things on political grounds.”

Fleming’s fellow Republican David Vitter also claimed that the strikes against ISIS and other terror groups are politically-motivated.
