Fischer: Attorneys General That Refuse To Defend Anti-Marriage Laws Must Resign From Office
On Friday's radio broadcast, Bryan Fischer declared that any state Attorney General that is unwilling to defend his or her state's anti-gay marriage laws or constitutional amendments ought to declare that they "believe in sodomy-based marriage" and resign from office.
Fischer wants any such office holder to declare "I think what people do when they have homosexual sex is perfectly normal, I think it's perfectly fine, I think it's perfectly healthy, I think we ought to celebrate that in our state" and then do the "honorable thing" and resign.
"You resign and say the honorable thing for me to do is to step down so that my office can be fulfilled by somebody who can fulfill the oath of office," Fischer urged. "I am violating the sacred oath I took before Almighty God to uphold and defend the laws of this state. I am in egregious dereliction of duty and it's not morally right for me to continue in office":
