Donald Trump Wins Support From Sarah Palin, Who Thanks God He's Running For President

Later today, Sarah Palin will officially endorse Donald Trump, news that Trump announced by calling Palin “a friend, and a high-quality person.”

The two Republican politicians and reality TV stars have frequently traded compliments, even after Trump criticized John McCain, who selected Palin as his running mate in 2008, for being a POW in the Vietnam War. Palin defended Trump’s remarks, saying that the two were both heroes: McCain for his military service and Trump for criticizing unlawful immigration and the “purposeful destruction of our economy.”

“She took so much nonsense, lies and disgusting lies, and she handles it so well, she’s tough and smart and just a great woman,” Trump said of Palin, adding that she’s “a special person, she’s really a special person and I think people know that.”

He even said she would consider her as an adviser in a future Trump administration, noting that voters “like the Sarah Palin kind of strength, you just don’t see very much of it anymore.” (Palin has her eye on the energy secretary job).

Palin, naturally, has had only positive things about the “awesome” GOP presidential frontrunner.

“I thank God that he’s running,” she said in August.

The former half-term governor also lauded Trump’s “boldness for being so candid about his opinion of me” and “calling it like he sees it, which is truth.”

And who can forget Palin’s interview of Trump for One America News Network, where she spent a week as a guest host this summer:
