Cruz: Obama Provoked 'Constitutional Crisis' With Marriage Equality, Immigration, Drug Sentencing Moves

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas joined Frank Gaffney yesterday to discuss Cruz’s bill aimed at stopping Iran’s new United Nations ambassador, who had been involved in the Iranian hostage crisis, from entering the United States. The bill was passed unanimously by Congress and signed by President Obama, who had already refused to grant a visa to the Iranian official, but that didn’t keep Gaffney and Cruz from using the issue to criticize the president.

Like President George H.W. Bush had done with a similar bill, the president noted in a signing statement that the bill might not pass constitutional muster because only the president — not Congress — has constitutional authority to receive ambassadors, so he would have to take the bill as “advisory.”

This led Cruz to berate the president for his refusal to defend the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act in the courts (both Republican and Democratic administrations have refused to defend laws they believe to be unconstitutional), his executive orderdeferring deportations of some DREAMers, his widely misrepresented decision to grant the request of Republican governors to modify welfare-to-work requirements, and the attorney general’s move to broaden clemency opportunities for nonviolent offenders serving time for drug crimes.

When Gaffney asked if such actions “constitute a Constitutional crisis in our time,” Cruz responded, “That is exactly right.”

Cruz: You’re right, he did put out that signing statement, and if nothing else I have to praise him for his candor. Because one of the most dismaying aspects of the Obama administration has been that this president seems to regard all legislation as advisory. And so he said so explicitly here that the legislation was now written in the law books as part of the US code, but if he so desires he might ignore it sometime in the future. None of that surprises me because that has been the approach President Obama has taken to the entire rest of the US code, whether it has been immigration laws or marriage laws or drug laws or welfare laws or Obamacare, which he 30 times has ignored the text of the law and disregarded it.

Gaffney: Or rewritten it on his own authority. This raises the question – and I think you’ve very directly addressed it in the past, and I’d invite you to do so again – does this constitute a Constitutional crisis in our time as the result of the man simply departing from his oath, sworn responsibilities to uphold the Constitution, which clearly makes it the Congress’s role to enact legislation.

Cruz: That is exactly right.

AFA Warns 'Homosexual Aggression' Has Banned Christians From '7 Common Careers'

In a fundraising email today, American Family Association president Tim Wildmon warns that the list of careers that Christians can hold in America “is quickly shrinking as homosexuals pro-actively seek opportunities to wreck the personal business and career of any Christian who declines to support the gay lifestyle.”

The email lists “7 common careers Christians may no longer hold in America,” which it says includes photography, broadcasting and teaching. Wildmon cites a few cases in which business owners have been sued for refusing to provide services to gay people and have sought broad exemptions from anti-discrimination laws that apply to businesses operating in the public square. He also cites the case of Craig James, who was hired by a regional Fox Sports network before being fired by the national network, which he claimed was because of his “personal religious beliefs.” Wildmon claims that James, who has since been hired by the Family Research Council , is a martyr who has been banned from broadcasting thanks to “homosexual aggression.”

7 common careers Christians may no longer hold in America

April 23, 2014

Many Christians choose self-employed careers because they want to be able to run their business according to the dictates of their faith and conscience.

That list is quickly shrinking as homosexuals pro-actively seek opportunities to wreck the personal business and career of any Christian who declines to support the gay lifestyle.

Don't be fooled. This is a focused effort to ostracize and humiliate faith-based businesses and their owners. Here are a few recent examples:

  • Photography - A Christian photographer in New Mexico was fined $6700 for politely declining to photograph a lesbian commitment ceremony. The Supreme Court allowed this fine to stand.
  • Baker - A Christian baker in Oregon is facing both civil and criminal penalties, including jail time, for politely declining to bake a cake for a gay wedding ceremony. Her business has closed.
  • Florist - Baronelle Stutzman, a Christian florist in Washington, is being sued by the state attorney general for politely declining to prepare an arrangement for a gay wedding ceremony.
  • Broadcasting - Craig James was fired by Fox Sports Southwest after only one day on the job for expressing his support for natural marriage while he was a candidate for the United States Senate.
  • Counseling - Jennifer Keeton was dismissed from the counseling program at Augusta State University for her religious reservations about the homosexual lifestyle.
  • Innkeeping - The Wildflower Inn in Vermont was fined $30,000 and forced to shut down its wedding reception business after politely declining to host a lesbian ceremony.
  • Teaching - Ms. Gillian John-Charles was kicked out of a doctoral program in education at Roosevelt University for expressing in class her belief that homosexuals aren't born gay.

What you can do about it…

AFA is improving the way we communicate, so you can get the latest information quickly and effectively engage the culture when our Christian brothers and sister come under attack from homosexual aggression.

Michael Bresciani Chides Gay People As Lower Than Monkeys

Christian Post blogger Michael Bresciani is out with another warning that the “gay agenda” and the purported rise of “perverted and libidinous behavior” is creating a “world that is plunging in unison to what we now well know will lead to – Armageddon.”

Insisting that “we are not the dung under the feet of Barack Obama,” Bresciani calls on conservatives to fight gay rights with the zeal of soldiers, adding that monkeys are more moral than gays: “Academics are assuring our children that they are the progeny of monkeys who are now on the cusp of conquering the stars. Yet, even the monkeys have not blurred gender distinctions nor do they indiscriminately destroy their young on a daily basis.”

Noting the backward slide into every prurient, perverted and libidinous behavior Americans can conger, is largely treated like scolding and rebuke rather than a call to return to the faith of our fathers.

This idea is now replaced with academically sanctioned dismissal of God, gay agenda indoctrination and mealy mouthed churches raising the white flag of apostasy and condescension. But not all!

Bill O’Reilley shrugs off the plunge into the gay “marriage” battle as social inevitability due to emergent acceptance of it into the fabric of our nation and yet, he still dares to refer to himself as a “culture warrior.”

Take a hint from your noble friends in the Wounded Warrior Project Bill - real warriors never give in or give up!

It will take a national revival to call God back to our side. First to forgive us, second to renew our commitment to righteousness and lastly to show our resolve to a world that is plunging in unison to what we now well know will lead to - Armageddon.

Academics are assuring our children that they are the progeny of monkeys who are now on the cusp of conquering the stars. Yet, even the monkeys have not blurred gender distinctions nor do they indiscriminately destroy their young on a daily basis. They exist without hoarding gold and silver or prepare for retirement. Is it time to tell the Darwinists that acting like monkeys is not proof of evolution?

Revival is a return to following only the voice of the Good Shepherd. We are not the children of O’Reilly; we are not the dung under the feet of Barack Obama and his horrible notion of ‘Change.’ We are not the dupes of indoctrination for academic fools who soothe themselves with tenure, turpitude and depravity masquerading as classical formal education.

Kevin Swanson Speculates That Kacey Musgraves Would Have Been Killed For 'Promoting Homosexuality' In The 1960s

Kevin Swanson is not happy that country singer Kacey Musgraves won album of the year at the 2014 ACM Awards, warning that the singer is pushing the destruction of America and causing demons to dance in its ashes.

Swanson said on his April 10 radio program that if Musgraves had performed her song “Follow Your Arrow” any time between the 1880s and the 1960s, it would have prompted calls for her to be killed: “Let me say this, if she had sang [sic] that thing in a country bar in the 1920s or 1880s in Denver, Colorado, somebody would’ve called for a rope, ‘Get a rope!’ You know what would have happened, she would not have made it out of town in the 1880s, 1920s, 1940s or 1960s.”

“But things have changed, friends,” he lamented.

The Religious Right talk show host later explained that Muscraves’ “promotion of homosexuality” is undermining America.

“When you can turn a once-Christian nation into Sodom, that’s when the demons do their celebration, their dance in the end zone,” he said. “So she’s got to promote homosexuality and she’s got to promote the abandonment of the traditional church in the same song. That’s critical for the dismantling of the Christian faith in the heartland.”

Rafael Cruz Falsely Claims San Antonio Banned Pastors From Preaching From The Bible

Speaking on a Tea Party Unity conference call last week, Rafael Cruz said that pastors in San Antonio can be fined for preaching from the Bible, a patently false claim but part of a larger Religious Right smear campaign against the city’s non-discrimination ordinance [PDF].

The ordinance added sexual orientation and gender identity to an existing city policy prohibiting discrimination, a move opposed by many Republicans, including Rafael Cruz’s son, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. The debate over the recently passed ordinance featured several over-the-top reactions, including a rant from a city councilwoman who called homosexuality “disgusting.”

While speaking on the call with extremist pastor and TPU founder Rick Scarborough, who introduced Ted Cruz at the 2012 Values Voter Summit, the elder Cruz claimed that pastors who preach Romans 1 — which some pastors interpret as a condemnation of homosexuality — can be fined $500 a day, a claim with no basis in reality.

“All we have to do is turn on the news and every day we see more and more encroachment upon pastors from this administration,” Cruz said. “All they have to do is be aware of what’s happening around us and to be aware, for example, that in the city of San Antonio, if a pastor speaks on Romans 1, he could be even fined $500 a day until he retracts what he said.”

Scarborough went on to warn that the “lesbian mayor of Houston” will impose a similar “sanctions [on pastors] if they preach the Bible.”

Cruz also suggested in the conference call that “wicked” people are currently in charge of the government: “We’ve stayed at home and we allowed the wicked to elect wicked politicians to rule us. We get what we deserve, Rick. We need to get up the charge that God is giving us and move to the forefront and call this nation to repentance and call this nation to righteousness.”

Cruz has previously alleged that Satan controls the US government.

Illinois Family Institute: Exposing 'Evil' Dan Savage Is Like Uncovering The Holocaust

Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute – the state affiliate of the American Family Association – is very unhappy about Dan Savage’s appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher last summer.

Two weeks ago, Higgins urged her group’s members to watch a video of Savage’s “repugnant” appearance on the show. Today, in response to criticism from a reader who was offended by the Savage/Maher video, Higgins offered a long essay titled “ Random Thoughts on the Rapacious Rainbow Revolution.”

Higgins explains in detail why she felt obligated to share the “loathsome” video because “many conservatives do not fully realize the evil nature of the enemy we fight” and “merely describing it does not adequately convey how profoundly wicked it is.” She compares her sharing of the Dan Savage video to the showing photos of Nazi concentration camps and lynchings.

“I am not equating the enormity of the evil of the Holocaust and the American genocide of pre-born babies to that of the homosexuality-affirming movement,” she clarifies. “I am, rather, illuminating the necessity of occasionally viewing the evil in our midst about which humans have a remarkable capacity to delude themselves.”

She adds that she feels she must expose the horrors that LGBT people await in the afterlife: “As Christians, however, we should remain conscious of the fact that a life of unrepentant homoerotic activity will result in eternal separation from God,” she writes. “How do we measure the magnitude of temporal suffering relative to that of eternal suffering?”

“Christians should consider whether appearing to affirm that which God abhors is pleasing to God,” she adds.

I received an email last week from a Christian who was upset that I published the loathsome video of Dan Savage even though I provided ample warning that the content was offensive. It seems appropriate, therefore, to revisit the reasons we occasionally publish either obscene hateful emails we receive, excerpts from offensive novels taught in our public schools, or video reminders of infamous homosexual "anti-bullying" bully, Dan Savage.

We do not expose the dark realities of this pernicious movement in order to be sensationalistic or titillating. We do it because Americans are inundated daily with images and words about homoeroticism intended to desensitize, sooth, and confuse. These words and images are built on a foundation of unarticulated and/or unexamined false assumptions and lies that are persuading even Christians that wrong is right.

Unfortunately, many conservatives do not fully realize the evil nature of the enemy we fight. And merely describing it does not adequately convey how profoundly wicked it is. Without a fuller apprehension of the nature and extent of the evil, many Christians are complacent and silent. Often it is only an encounter with such evil that generates a proper response from Christians.

Why view photos from Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen? Why view photos of lynchings? Why view photos of aborted babies? Why view the photo of the young napalmed Vietnamese girl? Why view photos of animals caught in steel leg traps or baby seals bludgeoned to death? Aren't these images shocking and obscene?

I am not equating the enormity of the evil of the Holocaust and the American genocide of pre-born babies to that of the homosexuality-affirming movement. I am, rather, illuminating the necessity of occasionally viewing the evil in our midst about which humans have a remarkable capacity to delude themselves.

As Christians, however, we should remain conscious of the fact that a life of unrepentant homoerotic activity will result in eternal separation from God. How do we measure the magnitude of temporal suffering relative to that of eternal suffering?

Well, here are some other ideas on which Christians should spend some time ruminating:

· Christians should consider whether appearing to affirm that which God abhors is pleasing to God.

· Christians should consider whether affirming or appearing to affirm homoerotic activity, which the Bible teaches will prevent entrance into Heaven, is a loving act.

What dupes and cowards Christians are. What poor servants of the one who was willing to die for us. While Christ died a humiliating and horrifying death for us, we're unwilling to endure any degree of discomfort for him. As we welcome each sophistical lie with a secret sigh of relief for being offered a rationalization to justify either our silence or capitulation, we facilitate evil. Those who experience unchosen same-sex attraction are not evil. They are sinners just like every other human-save one-who has ever existed. We all experience myriad powerful, persistent, unchosen feelings. Our task as moral beings is to figure out upon which of these feelings it is morally legitimate to act. Christians do no service to God, women, children, men, or their country when they refuse to speak the truth about homosexuality. Instead, we help push America into the historical abyss.

Deace Implies Same-Sex Marriage Is As Impossible As Human Flight

Speaking with Phyllis Schlafly on Eagle Forum Live this weekend, Iowa talk show host Steve Deace implied that same-sex couples who want to get married are like people who want to be able to fly.

Responding to a caller who asked what he should say to a friend who says “it’s not government’s job to legislate morality,” Deace responded that the friend has “bought into some postmodern thinking” where he doesn’t want to impose his idea of what’s “wrong and icky” on other people.

Deace compared this to fighting the law of gravity, implying that a gay person who wants to get married is like someone who jumps off a skyscraper because they think they can fly.

“I mean, someone might think, I have the right to fly and I’d love to fly and I have a desire to fly and I even found a judge that gave me a piece of paper that told me I have the right to fly,” he said. “But when I fling myself off the top of a skyscraper, I run smack-dab into the law of gravity.”

“It didn’t change because some judge said so,” he added.

Caller: I’ve got a buddy who’s semi-liberal and he says, his main premise is that it’s not government’s job to legislate morality. And I was wondering what you’ve got to say about that.

Schlafly: Well, practically ever law is legislating morality.

Deace: Phyllis is correct. Everything is morality. That’s a false objection. Question him further to find exactly out what that means. And I’m telling you, what I’m 99 percent positive that it will mean is that he’s bought into some postmodern thinking that says, ‘Well, yeah, I think this stuff is wrong and icky for me but I can’t impose my value system on somebody else.’

But of course, that’s a very slippery slope as well. I mean, someone might think, I have the right to fly and I’d love to fly and I have a desire to fly and I even found a judge that gave me a piece of paper that told me I have the right to fly. But when I fling myself off the top of a skyscraper, I run smack-dab into the law of gravity. It didn’t change because some judge said so. It still exists. So, chances are that’s a false objection from your friend because he’s bought into some postmodern thinking about over-judgementalism.

Linda Harvey Warns 'Child-Targeting' Day Of Silence Is A Test From God

Although the anti-bullying “Day of Silence” was more than a week ago, it’s still being attacked in the right-wing media. Writing in BarbWire today, anti-gay activist Linda Harvey warns that the Day of Silence, sponsored by the gay-rights group GLSEN, is “a test from our Creator” asking parents to “draw a line in the sand about child corruption.”

Harvey writes that the “radical child-targeting group GLSEN” is pushing “perversion” and “brainwashing” kids by teaching them “false ideas, like ‘gay’ is always good.”

We guess this means that Harvey isn’t actually that tired of talking about gay rights issues.

“This is a test. This is only a test. Had this been a real child-endangering emergency, where children are taught to hate Christians, embrace sodomy and praise sexual anarchy, you would be alerted through the Emergency Broadcast System for Responsible Parents. Then you could act to save your kids!”

And of course, America’s conservative parents would do that…wouldn’t they?

Well, these atrocities are already happening, perhaps indeed as a test from our Creator, and it looks like a grade of “F” looms as a strong possibility. What’s it going to take for the grown-ups in our nation to draw a line in the sand about child corruption?

Recent developments should have every Mom and Dad on high alert. Not only are openly homosexual boys are now welcomed into the Boy Scouts of America and “gay” adult men will probably soon be embraced as troop leaders, but we just observed another year of one staged homosexual school event after another. And the school term is not over yet.

Only the most obtuse will miss what homosexual advocates are doing: aggressively defying all the usual child protection boundaries and daring parents to stop them.

The takeover of youth culture in schools is led by advocate teachers, principals and outside allies who claim “LGBTQ” identities are churning within the hearts of closeted adolescents. “Please understand my reason for not speaking today,“ reads the placard of student participants in the “ Day of Silence,“ a supposedly student-led annual event in April (held on April 11 this year) which protests the silencing and bullying of “LGBT” people. Thousands of students nationwide now participate, claims the event sponsor, the radical child-targeting group GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network).

But these claims strain credulity. It’s not “student-led,” but driven by adults manipulating kids to become cheerleaders for the homosexual cause. Kids are impressionable and can be misled through persistent indoctrination. And the “Day of Silence” is not about bullying, which school officials can punish without endorsing these lifestyles. No, it’s about victim-posturing, propaganda and the willingness of schools to go along with the end result, which is the endorsement of perversion.

The anti-bullying fervor is deployed to launch pro-homosexual programs in schools that convey false ideas, like “gay” is always good; it’s an inborn identity; it’s a civil right like race; there’s no elevated health risk compared to heterosexuality; the “religious right” hates all homosexuals; their beliefs cause bullying; and those who object to any of this want “gay” kids to commit suicide.

They only have one childhood, and brainwashing lasts a long time.

Matt Barber's Campaign In Hypocrisy: There Should Be 'No Debate' On Homosexuality And Faith

If a gay rights supporter were to launch a petition demanding that a publishing house drop its publication of a book opposing marriage equality, you could imagine that Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber would be the first to accuse the “intolerant” “homofascists” of trying to “shut down debate.”

Barber, after all, has denounced the Southern Poverty Law Center’s decision to classify some anti-gay groups as “hate groups,” accusing them of an “Orwellian censorship crusade”; dubbed the campaign to pressure advertisers to end their sponsorship of Rush Limbaugh’s radio show an “assault on free speech”; and attacked GLAAD for setting up a website that simply lists quotes from anti-gay activists, which he called a “censorship” project “reminiscent of the former Soviet Union.”

Despite such hyperbolic rhetoric on the menace of gay “censorship,” Barber himself is now embarking on a campaign to stop a publishing house with evangelical ties from printing a book on Christianity and homosexuality by Matthew Vines, a young United Methodist whose 2012 lecture on Christianity and same-sex relationships went viral.

Barber is upset that Vines’ God and the Gay Christian will be published by Convergent Books, which he claims is a front for the evangelical publisher WaterBrook Multnomah.

Stephen Cobb, WORLD Magazine notes, “heads up both WaterBrook Multnomah and Convergent out of the publishing group’s Colorado Springs, Colo., offices,” and both companies are divisions of Penguin Random House. Since WaterBrook Multnomah describes itself as “the evangelical division of Penguin Random House,” Barber claims that the Cobb is aiding an “apostate enterprise” by publishing Vines’ book.

In an appearance yesterday on The Janet Mefferd Show, Barber said that he is attacking Cobb and Vines out of concern for their eternal salvation. Responding to a statement from Cobb, who defended Vines as a “bold, young, evangelical writer whose first calling is to promote a civil, loving, and biblically based conversation on the subject,” Barber said that the book shouldn’t have been published since there is “no debate” on the subject to be had.

Barber: I’m not out to get Steve Cobb, I’m not out to get Matthew Vines, I’m sure he’s a nice kid, he’s misguided, he’s under deception, it’s sad and I fear for both of them. You know we’re all going to stand before God but if they’re unrepentant in this kind of sinful activity, either homosexual behavior or intentionally misleading and deceiving the Christian public, I think that they’ve got some ’splaining to do.

Mefferd: Very much so.

Mefferd: What about the ‘biblically based conversation’? That’s implying that it’s orthodox.

Barber: That’s right and that’s also implying that there is somehow even ‘a there there,’ that there is a discussion to have, that this is even debatable. There is no debate. Scripture is unequivocal, unambiguous throughout both the old and new testaments in addressing the sin of homosexual conduct, as well as other sexual sins, so there’s no debate.

The case is reminiscent of the controversy over the CGBG online marketplace, in which a gay rights group called on companies to cut ties with CGBG because it directs proceeds to anti-gay groups including Liberty Counsel, Family Research Council and Focus on the Family.

Barber condemned the CGBG boycott and called the effort proof that “radical, militant” gays want to put Christians “behind bars.”

As we noted at the time, Barber had endorsed a boycott of McDonalds and led a pro-boycott rally outside of its corporate headquarters because the company had partnered with the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

"Unfortunately, McDonalds has chosen to side with militant homosexual activists over people with traditional values," said Matt Barber. "The company has further escalated the controversy by lodging a personal attack against the tens of millions of Americans who support traditional sexual morality and legitimate marriage. While referring to Christians and other people with traditional values, McDonalds spokesman Bill Whitman arrogantly told the Washington Post that, 'Hatred has no place in our culture,' thereby suggesting that people who support the historical definition of marriage are simply motivated by 'hate.' This insult is highly offensive, and anyone who supports traditional marriage should boycott McDonalds and tell the company why they’re doing so." (emphasis added)

Liberty Counsel has also backed a boycott of Starbucks over its support for marriage equality and applauded a pressure campaign on companies to pull their advertisements from the TLC show “All-American Muslim.”

But if any gay rights supporter were to dare employ the exact same tactics used by Barber and Liberty Counsel, you can bet that Barber would be the first to attack them as totalitarian fascists who hate freedom.

Cal Thomas Warns Gay Marriage Is A Bigger Threat Than Islamic Extremists, Will Lead To Child Marriage

In an appearance Monday on the Christian televangelist network Daystar, conservative commentator Cal Thomas warned that the legalization of same-sex marriage undermines “all of human history” and poses a greater threat to America than Islamic extremists.

Responding to a question about “what can be done about the federal judges that override the majority of voters on marriage,” Thomas responded with apocalyptic warnings.

“Look at Mesopotamia. Look at the Roman Empire, which collapsed from within through moral impurity before they were conquered from without. And that’s my great fear. I don’t fear the Russians or the fundamentalist Muslims as much as I fear ourselves. We are committing moral suicide in this country: 55 million dead babies through abortion and counting, we’re mainstreaming same-sex marriage and the polygamists are right behind,” he said.

“You have the people who believe in adult-child marriage, they already do this in certain Muslim countries, these people want the rights as an adult to marry a child,” he added. “So all I’m asking, and what I do in debates is say, if the line has shifted now and we accept same-sex marriage, where would you then draw the line and on what basis? It’s all about the polls, feelings and the culture at the time, it’s not about established truth and real history.”

BarbWire Defends Brutal Anti-Gay Laws In Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia

Jeff Allen, senior editor of Matt Barber’s BarbWire website, today defends harsh anti-gay laws in Uganda, Nigeria and Ethiopia, which he calls “maliciously mischaracterized” and “a matter of national survival.”

In Nigeria, where gay sex is illegal – and punishable by death by stoning in some Islamic states in the north of the country – a new law criminalizing gay clubs and organizations, even banning gay people from meeting in groups of two or more, has led to an official crackdown on LGBT people and encouraged vigilante violence.

Earlier this year, Uganda passed an infamous bill punishing gay activity with sentences of up to life in prison. In Ethiopia, where gay sex is also criminalized, a bill preventing the president from pardoning anyone convicted of homosexuality was recently dropped.

Yet to Allen, these laws are merely resisting “the West’s imposition of ‘sexual rights’ on these countries.” In a review of a 2012 documentary by Family Watch International that blames the AIDS crisis in Africa on Western aid that emphasizes family planning and gay rights, Allen writes:

The maliciously mischaracterized anti-‘gay’ laws in countries like Uganda, Nigeria, and Ethiopia are actually a matter of national survival. The documentary makes the case that the West’s imposition of “sexual rights” on these countries erodes their religious and cultural values, leading to social chaos through the demise of the natural family unit and the deaths of millions by AIDS-related illnesses.

Eagle Forum Hopes To Make The GOP Even More Hostile To Gay Rights

Remember how the Texas Republican Party’s 2012 platform drew national attention for its radical and bizarre political positions?

Well, if the Texas Eagle Forum has its way, the GOP state and county party committees would preserve their extremist stances and go even farther in embracing the far-right.

The group has unveiled its lists of proposed resolutions for party committees in hopes of shaping the state GOP’s 2014 platform, asking members to demand Congress impeach and remove judges who rule in favor of gay rights and urge the party to approve a resolution condemning homosexuality:

WHEREAS, the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society and contributes to the breakdown of the family unit; and
WHEREAS, the practice of homosexuality is unhealthy and puts the American public at risk for disease; according to the CDC, homosexuals make up only 2% of the U.S. population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV, especially young men 13-24 years of age; and
WHEREAS, homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that homosexuality should not be presented as an acceptable lifestyle in public policy, and the “family” should not be redefined to include same-sex “couples.”
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin, and we oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction or belief in traditional values.

The model resolution is almost exactly the same as the one found in the current Texas GOP platform [PDF], which reads:

We affirm that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society and contributes to the breakdown of the family unit. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans. Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle, in public policy, nor should “family” be redefined to include homosexual “couples.” We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin. Additionally, we oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction or belief in traditional values.

But the group, led by Cathie Adams, now wants the party to go one step further by endorsing the discredited practice of ex-gay therapy:

WHEREAS Reparative therapy and other Sexual Orientation Change Efforts are based on the understanding that healing emotional wounds and reducing shame will reduce same-sex attraction and empower individuals to live in accordance with their own faith and values;
WHEREAS, psychological and spiritual counseling have been well-documented in scientific and psychological literature to help individuals with unwanted same-sex attractions reduce and/or eliminate their unwanted homosexual feelings;
WHEREAS, laws have recently been passed in California and New Jersey severely restricting the free speech rights of licensed therapists who support counseling/therapy to change or reduce homosexual behavior in individuals who seek their help;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that licensed therapists, psychologists and counselors in the state of Texas cannot be forbidden or penalized by any licensing board for practicing reparative therapy and supporting clients of any age with sexual orientation change efforts.

Another proposed resolution warns that “religious liberty is under severe attack in our churches, schools, the military and the public arena by anti-religious organizations and the federal government,” calling on elected officials to reject “the ‘politically correct’ efforts by the Obama administration and anti-religious groups to intimidate, bully, and silence people of faith.”

Texas Eagle Forum’s recommended resolutions call for required drug testing for welfare recipients and sweeping opposition to gun safety laws while featuring warnings about the purported use of foreign laws in US courts, which are all resolutions that are part of the current Texas GOP platform.

The group also proposes a resolution asserting that there is “overwhelming scientific evidence” that humans have no influence on the climate and that “the earth has not warmed since 1998,” referring to climate change as a “non-existent theory of climate change [that] is a political agenda which attempts to control every aspect of our lives.” Similarly, Texas Republicans have a plank on “protections from extreme environmentalists.”

We strongly oppose all efforts of the extreme environmental groups that stymie legitimate business interests. We strongly oppose those efforts that attempt to use the environmental causes to purposefully disrupt and stop those interests within the oil and gas industry. We strongly support the immediate repeal of the Endangered Species Act. We strongly oppose the listing of the dune sage brush lizard either as a threatened or an endangered species. We believe the Environmental Protection Agency should be abolished.

GOP Senate Candidate To Join Anti-Gay Forum Featuring Extremist Pastors

Southern Baptist pastor Mark Harris, who is running in a hotly contested GOP primary to take on Democratic North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan, launched his political career by driving the successful campaign to ban same-sex marriage and civil unions in the state constitution.

It should come as no surprise then that Harris will join some of the nation’s most fervent opponents of gay rights at the April 24 North Carolina Regional Briefing, hosted by the anti-gay Family Research Council. Speakers joining the GOP hopeful at the event include:

Patrick Wooden

The North Carolina preacher alleged during the marriage amendment campaign that gay men “have to wear a diaper or a butt plug just to be able to contain their bowels.”

He reiterated his claim in follow-up interview where he insisted that he knows of gay men who have “literally died in diapers” because they “have stretched their anuses, their sphincter muscles” with baseball bats, cell phones and animals:

I know of a case where in a hospital a homosexual male had a cellphone lodged in his anus and as they were operating on him the phone went off, the phone started ringing. There’ve been instances where men have put bats, baseball bats, in their rectums.... Even the homosexual lobby knows, those who are pro-homosexual, they know that they cannot win the argument describing what it is that these people actually do to each other, the objects, the animals in certain cases, the little gerbils; thank God I’m a human being!

Wooden has also called homosexuality “wicked, deviant, immoral, self-destructive, anti-human sexual behavior,” said Tyler Perry and Chaz Bono are under Satan’s influence, warned that Glee promotes “a wicked, perverse lifestyle that destroys people” and described violence against gay people as “normal.”

E.W. Jackson

The pastor and failed GOP Virginia lieutenant governor candidate drew wide notoriety for his claims that gay people are “degenerate,” “perverse” and “very sick people psychologically, mentally and emotionally.”

He has also warned that homosexuality “poisons culture, destroys families, destroys societies [and] brings the judgment of God unlike very few things that we can think of,” adding that it is driven by “spiritually darkened” people who seek to “recruit” others.

Jackson has linked homosexuality to bestiality and pedophilia, feared that Obama “will force schools to start teaching all children homosexuality” and criticized gay rights advocates and progressives for having supposedly “ done more to kill black folks whom they claim so much to love than the Ku Klux Klan, lynching and slavery and Jim Crow ever did.”

He even labeled the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell an “abomination” and said that God will punish the military for allowing openly gay service members, remarks he later denied making even though they were captured on audio and videotape.

Rick Scarborough

The Texas-based Religious Right leader has built a career around stoking fears that Christians will face imprisonmentpersecution, communism and concentration camps if gay marriage becomes legal. He also says that gay people should be only referred to as “sodomites” and should “hang their heads in shame.”

Scarborough blamed the 2012 Benghazi attack on “the assault on God’s institution of marriage,” insisted Obama’s opposition to Russia’s anti-gay crackdown will lead to God’s judgment on America, described AIDS as divine punishment for gay “immorality” and called for a “class action lawsuit” against homosexuality.

Ron Baity

The North Carolina pastor who leads Return America, a group which pushed the marriage amendment, has said that “homos” are worse than maggots and akin to murderers.

He has also alleged that gay people are making society “more filthy” and bringing about divine punishment in the form of an “urban renewal program,” adding that “perverted” gay people should be “prosecuted” before they cause the “death” of America.

“Since they cannot produce they must recruit young people to their perverted, warped agenda. One cannot think of anything more nauseating, debased, lewd and immoral than recruiting precious young people into such shameful conduct,” he wrote in a Return America newsletter.

Tony Perkins

As leader of the Family Research Council, Perkins defended Uganda’s “kill the gays” bill and connected homosexuality to a whole host of evils, including death, sexual assault, depressionsuicide, government population control, and child abuse. He has even compared homosexuality to shootings, kidnappings and alcoholism.

Perkins has also said that gay rights advocates are using “disgusting” anti-bullying programs in schools to “recruit” children, arguing that gay youth shouldn’t be affirmed for who they are since they intrinsically know they are “abnormal,” leading to depression and suicide.

The FRC head told one Religious Right group that gay rights advocates are “hateful” pawns of the Devil.

Richard Land 'Exposes' The 'Dirty Little Secret' Of The Gay Community

While filling in for Washington Watch host Tony Perkins on Tuesday, Southern Baptist Convention official Richard Land and guest Donna Rice Hughes of the anti-pornography group Enough Is Enough agreed that sexual abuse causes homosexuality.

Land, lifting from the anti-gay myth that gay adults abuse children at high rates and “recruit” them into homosexuality, charged that “the dirty little secret that nobody wants to talk about is that a high percentage of adult male homosexuals in America were sexually molested when they were children.”

Land’s claim contradicts findings of the American Psychological Association, which notes that “no specific psychosocial or family dynamic cause for homosexuality has been identified, including histories of childhood sexual abuse. Sexual abuse does not appear to be more prevalent in children who grow up to identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual, than in children who identify as heterosexual.”

He has previously claimed that gay people are Satanic pawns who are seeking the “full-blown paganization” of America.

BarbWire Accuses Obama Of 'Blasphemy' For 'Desecrating' Easter By Letting Gay Bishop Speak At Prayer Service

BarbWire senior editor Jeff Allen was left seething at the news that President Obama invited gay Episcopal bishop Gene Robinson to speak at his Easter prayer service, writing yesterday in a column entitled “Blasphemy: Obama Picks ‘Gay’ Bishop For Easter Prayer” that “the president chose to desecrate the Easter observance” as part of “his and the culture’s celebration of everything ‘gay.’”

President Barack Obama hosted about 150 Christian leaders at the Fifth Annual Easter Prayer Breakfast on Monday. At the conclusion of the event, the president chose to desecrate the Easter observance by spontaneously inviting the Episcopal Church’s first self-avowed, practicing homosexual bishop to offer the closing prayer. In his and the culture’s celebration of everything “gay,” apparently nothing is sacred.

The Right Rev. Gene Robinson expressed his shock in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind the podium: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!”

In another column, Allen claimed that the Nevada GOP’s decision to drop anti-choice and anti-gay positions from its party platform is a sign that right-wing activists may need to create a third party focused on opposing abortion rights and LGBT equality.

Well, the slow, agonizing process of political suicide has officially begun. On Saturday, the Nevada Republican Party struck the precursory blow in the torturous bludgeoning death of the GOP.

At a state convention which pitted the establishment, Ruling Class Republicans against conservative Tea Party members over political endorsements, the Nevada delegates did, however, manage to make the controversial decision to abandon their stance on sodomy-based marriage and abortion.

But they seem to have conveniently ignored the fact that the homosexual agenda has been rapidly eroding the personal freedoms of people of faith, forcing them to violate their consciences and stripping them of other First Amendment protections.

Despite the Nevada Republican Party’s suicidal tendencies with regards to the social issues, it is imperative that we elect a conservative Republican who will staunchly defend marriage and the rights of the unborn.

Or else the party is history. And talk of a third party will pick up more steam.

Anti-Gay Extremist Linda Harvey Says She Is Tired Of Talking About Gay Rights Issues

Linda Harvey, who dedicates nearly every single one of her radio bulletins to attacking gay people and gay rights, now says that she is sick and tired of hearing about gay rights.

Last Friday, Harvey marked the Day of Silence by charging that “enough is enough” and she can’t stand hearing about homosexuality.

She called out the media for allegedly dedicating too much time to coverage of gay rights issues: “The mainstream media breathlessly covers homosexual so-called rights as an issue way out of proportion to its relative importance. When the Supreme Court struck down portions of state and national marriage laws last summer, you’d think the first person had landed on Mars.”

Oddly, she ended her radio bulletin by urging her members to “save a life” by speaking more frequently and publicly about their opposition to homosexuality.

Enough is enough. Have you noticed that the promotion of homosexuality seems to be almost everywhere you look these days? From movies and TV shows to commercials, mass-market paperback novels and even children’s media. As you’ve heard me say many times, the topic of sexual deviance has sadly permeated the climate of our public schools. The message children hear is one that endorses these lifestyles. Today is the public school Day of Silence and I am hoping you have decided to keep your children home on a day when they are likely to hear, even in the silence, a very deceptive message, one that endorses homosexuality and gender confusion by using the excuse of preventing bullying. Bullying can be prevented without endorsing homosexuality or implying that Christian faith causes bulling, but try telling that to the activists.

But again this propaganda is now coming at us from all directions. The mainstream media breathlessly covers homosexual so-called rights as an issue way out of proportion to its relative importance. When the Supreme Court struck down portions of state and national marriage laws last summer, you’d think the first person had landed on Mars. Meanwhile, much more important issues like human trafficking, child abuse or the daily slaughter of unborn babies in this country get little attention.

The only thing that will overcome this darkness is for parents to stand up, even if it’s uncomfortable. It’s not hateful to do so and your willingness to draw the line in the sand and say no to homosexual propaganda may be the action that saves a life. On the Day of Silence, I am asking you as parents and grandparents to remain silent no longer.

Russian Anti-LGBT Crackdown Exporting Homophobic Violence Throughout Region, Experts Warn

Russia's ban on gay "propaganda" and copycat laws throughout the region have created a "license to commit violence against" LGBT people, "give the permission" for "street violence" and "create legitimacy for violence," according to human rights advocates working in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Kyrgyszstan who spoke last night at a panel at Columbia University.

Russia's spate of anti-gay laws has quickly influenced neighboring countries, part of what Columbia professor Tanya Domi called "the Putin project" of solidifying Russia's influence in the region.

American activists including National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown, anti-gay agitator Scott Lively, and the World Congress of Families – which receives support from a who's who of American anti-gay groups – have lent support to Russia's anti-gay laws.

Matthew Schaaf, a Russia expert at Freedom House, said that while there were plenty of logistical questions about the enforcement of the ban on gay "propaganda" to minors that was passed last year, one effect of the law is clear.

"What we've actually seen is that this law in Russia and other restrictions on LGBT people and people who advocate for LGBT rights is essentially a license to commit violence against them, to discriminate against them," he said. "It creates an environment where these people are positioned as being others, as not being us, as an influence that we need to control and to destroy."

Schaaf said that the anti-gay bills are "part of an overall crackdown on civil society in Russia."

He mentioned the newly released Russian state cultural policy, which explicitly rejects "the principles of multiculturalism and tolerance" and denies state support to "cultural projects which impose alien to society values."

"What is common to all of these different issues is a rhetoric of some kind of external, existential threat to Russia, to Russian culture, to Russia as a country, to the borders of Russia, to the Russian people, to the Russian economy, and so on," Schaaf said. "So, if you're hearing this message, you're hearing a message that's frightening: that the country is under assault by these horrible, horrible forces."

"This is what Russia is exporting to other parts of the world, and they're aggressively pushing this agenda on many, many, many levels," he added.

Olena Shevchenko, who chairs the Ukrainian LGBTI advocacy group Insight, said that pushing anti-gay laws is part of a "Russian foreign strategy" as Russia is "pushing this border between [its] traditional values concept and human rights in Western Europe."

Anna Kirey of Human Rights Watch put it in terms of LGBT rights being a unit of geopolitical "currency."

"It feels like it's this big political game where Russia is creating this certain currency that they sort of use politically…to mobilize supporters," she said. "LGBT rights now in this region are definitely one of these currencies to create opposition to the West and more support for the Eurasian Customs Union in different countries."

Shevchenko noted that Russia's move toward anti-gay legislation "influenced Ukraine immediately."

In late 2012, Ukraine – which was the first former Soviet republic to decriminalize homosexuality – took the first step toward passing its own "propaganda" ban imposing fines or up to five years in prison for "any positive depiction" of LGBT people.

The BBC interviewed the pastor of an evangelical church in Kiev who had pushed for the bill, which he described as a "national security" measure. "Here's the issue," he told the BBC. "In a real democracy, my freedom and rights are limited by the freedom of someone else."

Shevchenko said that a similar sentiment was behind wide support for anti-gay laws in Ukraine. "Many people think that equality for LGBT people will be a threat to the rights of majority," she said. "Basically it will be a threat to the right to discriminate."

She added that anti-LGBT hate speech from politicians and the media essentially "give permission [for] street violence towards LGBT people" and lead to the "legitimization of violence."

"Basically, they think it allows them to go on the streets and discriminate and to beat them and to rape, when it comes to LB and transgender women," she said.

Kirey, a researcher at Human Rights Watch who has done extensive work in Kyrgyzstan, spoke of a similar situation in that country, where a Human Rights Watch report in January found a pattern of police violence and extortion against gay men.

Kyrgyz authorities met the HRW report with denial and even laughter, she said…and then two months later introduced their own Russian-style gay "propaganda" ban.

"Right now in the region, any conversations about LGBT rights are immediately put in the box of 'propaganda,'" said Kirey. She added that such legislation not only "create[s] legitimacy for violence" but also "shrinks the space where LGBT activists are able to raise their concerns, which is very upsetting."

"Literally, people are now thinking that they have the permission of the government to continue these homophobic crimes, which is a very scary development," she said.

South Carolina GOP Lawmaker: LGBT Rights As Bad As 'Skinheads And Radical Islam'

Last week, we reported that South Carolina state senator Mike Fair had succeeded in getting the University of South Carolina-Upstate to cancel a satirical performance called "How To Be A Lesbian In 10 Days Or Less" because he thought it was "recruiting" students to become lesbians.

Well, the show may be canceled, but the outrage machine rolls on. The State reports that Fair "said in a TV interview [last] week that Upstate students needed to be exposed to gay-themed materials and programs like 'they do skinheads and radical Islam. They don't need to be exposed to it.'"

State Sen. Lee Bright, who represents the area in the state legislature and who is challenging U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in the GOP primary this year, joined Fair in the effort to cut the school's budget in punishment for planning to host the show and for assigning LGBT-friendly reading material. "I think we've got their attention," Bright said. "Folks in Spartanburg aren't looking for that kind of bent at their local college."

And now, a candidate for state superintendent of education is piling on, issuing a press release calling the show "dangerous" and "destructive" and calling for everyone involved to be fired. Superintendant candidate Gary Burgess wrote, in a press release flagged by the Charleston City Paper:

Sexual orientation, and teaching children about sexual orientation, is exclusively the purview of the home and Houses of Faith. A seminar teaching young adults how to be heterosexual or homosexual is completely off limits to schools, colleges, and universities. How much training does it take to have human beings, sexual creatures, participate in sex? This is ludicrous. This is dangerous. This is destructive ...

These programs, which try to indoctrinate our children, must be completely defunded, and those who use tax dollars in such a way should be fired.

Meanwhile, Leigh Hendrix, the South Carolina native who wrote and performs "How To Be A Lesbian In 10 Days Or Less," says she is "really surprised" by the backlash to her show, noting that "the title is far more provocative than the piece."

Don Feder Angry 'Noah' Didn't Blame Flood On Gay People

World Congress of Families spokesman Don Feder is upset that the movie “Noah” focused on climate change, suggesting that the flood actually represented divine punishment for homosexuality.

Feder joins the many anti-gay activists who insist that gay people are to blame for the biblical flood.

“Try to imagine Hollywood making a movie that inveighs against sexual immorality, when the entertainment industry goes Lady Gaga over gayness and presents cohabitation, adultery and abortion as lifestyle choices,” Feder writes.

Instead, he says that the film's message against human-induced climate change is proof that “warmingism” is a religion that treats its critics as “heretics.” He adds that “Enviros would have auto-da-fes in front of the United Nations building if not for concern about pollutants released by burning flesh.”

Scripture is a bit vague on the reasons for the flood. The Bible explains: "Now the earth was corrupt before God. And the earth became full of robbery. And God saw the earth, and behold it had become corrupted." (Genesis 6:11-12).

Corrupt in what way? Would God destroy the world over larceny? Later in Genesis, the Canaanite cities of Sodom and Gomorrah are blotted out, this time by fire, over sexual deviancy. The term "sodomite" doesn't refer to someone who knocks-over convenience stores.

Try to imagine Hollywood making a movie that inveighs against sexual immorality, when the entertainment industry goes Lady Gaga over gayness and presents cohabitation, adultery and abortion as lifestyle choices.

The cult of global warming has all of the characteristics of a religion – prophets (Al Gore, Hollywood savants, and scientists in mad pursuit of government research grants), evil (the internal combustion engine, coal-fired plants, population growth), good (measures designed to curb CO2 emissions) and salvation/redemption (draconian fines for carbon-polluters, severe limits on human reproduction – to erase carbon footprints – and eventual repeal of the industrial revolution). Dissenters aren't merely wrong, they are heretics labeled climate change "deniers." Enviros would have auto-da-fes in front of the United Nations building if not for concern about pollutants released by burning flesh.

Although adherents won't admit it, warmingism is also based on faith – a belief in the depravity of industrial society and the evil of progress. Unfortunately for its proponents, warmingism is demonstrably false and is increasingly refuted by reality. The earth isn't getting warmer. The ice caps aren't shrinking. The rise in sea-levels is insignificant and ecological doom is nowhere on the horizon. …

After spending decades (centuries if you want to go back to the French Revolution) trying to destroy religion, the left is now using religion to advance its pet causes. Coming soon, "Sodom and Gomorrah: The True Story" – wherein destruction is visited on the Mesopotamian metropolises for their homophobia, sexism and income inequality.

Kevin Swanson Compares Gay-Inclusive Honey Maid Ad To Axe Murder, Cannibalism

Colorado-based pastor Kevin Swanson of Generations Radio is joining the Religious Right outrage frenzy over a gay-inclusive TV ad produced by Nabisco’s Honey Maid.

On Friday, he told co-host Steve Vaughn that the company’s “disgusting” attempt to “promote” homosexuality is just like encouraging axe murder.

When you come down to things like axe murder or homosexuality and you say, ‘we’re really going to promote it and we’re going to encourage everybody in America to engage in this or at least support this thing,’ there will be people on the other side who will take an adamantly opposed position to your support of axe murdering or homosexuality. They will be intolerant, they will be very intolerant of that which is evil, like axe murdering. Here’s my prognostication for Nabisco: I think they’re going to lose business. They say ‘we’ve got lots and lots and lots of positive comments,’ I think they said 50,000 positive comments or something.

Tough bananas, there are still going to be 28 percent, 38 percent, 47 percent of the market that will not go with it. So their decision to step out and say, ‘we’re going to take the lowest road possible on this, we’re going to support one of the most egregious things ever concocted since Nero — Nero being the one who came up with homosexual marriage, the namesake for it — we’re going to support the Neronic agenda,’ there will be I think 28 percent, 38 percent, it may eventually go as low as 28 percent, but you’re still going to get a pretty substantial bunch of Americans that will say, ‘hey, this is disgusting, Nabisco is disgusting.’

He also took issue with Honey Maid’s video response to its critics, wondering whether the next ad will include a “family where a dog is the wife with a human husband.”

Swanson also claimed that God will object to the TV ad because “the problem with this ‘love’ thing is you can define it anyway you want. Homosexuals love their friends and cannibals love their victims, they taste good.”

Nabisco apparently came out with this ‘Wholesome’ ad for ‘Wholesome Honey Maid and Teddy Grahams,’ it’s causing a huge stir. The company is fighting the negativity with another ad called ‘Love.’ Here’s what happened: Nabisco presented an ad in which they equated mixed race families to single parent families to homosexual families, whatever that is, maybe they had another family where a dog is the wife with a human husband. Does the dog eat wholesome Nabisco doggy bones? So they come out with an ad, then they got backlash because not everybody felt it was wholesome.

Artists printed out the negative comments, rolled them all up and created a sculpture that reads ‘Love’ in cursive script. Isn’t that cute? That’s kind of cute. I wonder what God thinks about that? Didn’t God define love? See the problem with this ‘love’ thing is you can define it anyway you want. Homosexuals love their friends and cannibals love their victims, they taste good.

William Murray, the Religious Right activist and son of American Atheists founder Madalyn Murray O’Hair, is joining in the chorus of sympathy for Vladimir Putin, hailing the Russian leader in a WorldNetDaily column today as a bulwark against the increasingly Marxist and secular West. Murray praises Russia for its “flat tax that encourages growth” — which he contrasts with “our president’s Soviet-style” economics — and policies to ensure that “individual achievement is honored and prayer and Bible instruction are welcomed in the classrooms... Anti-gay activists Gina Miller and Linda Harvey got together this weekend on Mission America’s radio show to discuss ways to “overcome” the “unspeakable,” “lewd” and “insidious” LGBT pride events taking place this month, which Harvey believes should be banned. Miller lamented that “it’s an awful thing we’re seeing with these parades, it’s Sodom of the West here in America today.” Miller later warned that the demonic “left-wing powers of the air” are “flooding” the country with LGBT... In an essay in this month’s AFA Journal, American Family Association President Tim Wildmon writes that his group is working tirelessly to prevent God from destroying the country as retribution for President Obama’s support for abortion rights and LGBT equality. “Our president is promoting the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgendered and queer agenda like there is no tomorrow,” Wildmon says, insisting that Obama’s support for the “immoral, unnatural and unhealthy” “lifestyle” of homosexuality is part of America’s wider “rebellion... Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association was, unsurprisingly, upset to learn that some public libraries have been stocking “The Princes and the Treasure,” a children’s book that, in the words of its author Jeffrey Miles, "tells the story of two handsome princes who go on a quest to save a princess, but fall in love with each other, get married, and live happily ever after." Fischer tells the Christian Post that “this book is a particularly pernicious form of sexually perverse propaganda” that “no responsible library should ever include... MORE

Right-wing pastor Scott Lively is once again defending Uganda’s crackdown on its gay community, taking to BarbWire today to criticize new U.S. sanctions against Uganda along with the appointments of gay ambassadors and American support for LGBT events abroad. “[I]t is encouraging to see the Africans standing up to the United States and it’s ‘Babylonian’ State Department, which, at least in regards to sexual morality and the LGBT agenda has truly become ‘The Great Satan’ of the world,” Lively writes. Still, it is encouraging to see the Africans... MORE

Friday's "Faith and Freedom" radio broadcast was dedicated to Mat Staver and Matt Barber warning that the Employment Non-Discrimination Act is "a tragedy" that "must not pass" because, if it does, it will be the end of religious liberty in America. Citing the firing of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich and supposed persecution of Phillip Monk, Barber spent a good portion of the broadcast railing against the "homofascists" in the gay rights movement who seek to use ENDA to utterly destroy religious freedom. Calling ENDA the "crown jewel of the radical,... MORE

The Family Research Council is once again responding to polls showing widespread support for gay rights by making up their own anti-gay fuzzy math. In his daily email update on Friday, FRC President Tony Perkins wrote that the Republican House leaders who oppose the Employment Non-Discrimination Act are “more in line with the majority of Americans” than is President Obama, who supports the act. Perkins cited a Huffington Post poll, which he says found that “only 50% of Americans support an ENDA-type” law, which he claims “gives preference to homosexuals and... MORE
