Linda Harvey: America Is Now Nazi Germany Thanks To Gay Rights

In a radio bulletin last week, Mission America’s Linda Harvey defended a Pennsylvania bridal shop and a New York wedding venue that denied service to same-sex couples, arguing that the businesses have been swept up in a “totally unnecessary, homosexually-instigated controversy.”

“This is all part of the strong-armed bullying of those who are determined to force everyone in America to serve the interests of homosexuals,” she said, pointing to “an intensive effort to retaliate against the [bridal] shop with homosexual supporters posting unfavorable and surely mostly dishonest reviews” online.

“You thought you lived in the USA of 2014, not Germany in 1936, right?” she added.

BarbWire: 'Big Sodomy' Will Destroy America

Lee Duigon of BarbWire tells us today that conservative Christians should fear the “insatiable and unappeasable” wrath of “Big Sodomy,” a movement he believes will soon move to ban homeschooling, force churches to perform same-sex marriages, indoctrinate kids into homosexuality and abolish the First Amendment protections for the freedom of religion and speech.

“Refuse, refuse—refuse outright to obey wicked officials in thrall to Big Sodomy,” Duigon writes, adding that Christians may soon have to “form house churches, as the Christians do in China” to escape from gay tyranny.

Already the explicitly-stated First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion has been made to bow to a “sexual liberty” mentioned nowhere in the document. Maybe James Madison hid it under the coffee table.

If they come roaring after religious liberty like this before the Supremes enthrone “gay marriage,” what will life in America be like afterward?

Oh! But we can just all get along, can’t we?

The homosexual movement is insatiable and unappeasable. Like a fire, it won’t stop after consuming half the log. It’ll go on and on until either someone puts it out or all its fuel is consumed and there’s nothing left to burn.

Here is what we must expect.

The free exercise of the Christian religion will give way to the forced exercise of the secular humanist religion.

The federal government will force churches to perform same-sex “marriage” exercises. Pastors and priests will be punished if they speak against it.

All public schools—in case there are still a few that aren’t already doing it—will teach the normalization, acceptance, and celebration of homosexuality. As is already being done, children will be encouraged to try all sorts of sexual practices. Parents will not be allowed to opt their children out of these programs, and soon will be stripped of their right to determine the nature of their own children’s education. The religious schools will cease to be a refuge; and how long do you think Christian homeschooling will be allowed?

They can’t jail all the Christians in America. But even if they could, it wouldn’t let us out of our duty to stay faithful to our Lord and His commandments.

Refuse, refuse—refuse outright to obey wicked officials in thrall to Big Sodomy. If your churches surrender, as some have done already, they aren’t churches anymore. Leave them to their apostasy and form house churches, as the Christians do in China.

Never, never speak of a same-sex coupling as “marriage.” It is no marriage, and will never be.

The hard part will be to decide what to do when they come for your children. But is it so much easier just to sit and suck it up when the “gender coach” comes to your first-grader’s classroom to teach the kiddies that “you can be a boy one day and a girl the next, depending on how you feel”? Is it so much easier to allow your kids to be recruited to march in a “Trans Pride Parade”?

The longer we wait to re-assert our God-given liberties—as opposed to newfangled bogus liberties made up by a lot of academic pinheads in their never-ending quest for a Garden of Eden run by themselves instead of God—the harder it’ll be to get them back at all. We won’t get them back for the asking. “Gee, Mr. Gay Activist Judge, I really miss my religious freedom. Do you think I might have it back, sometime soon? And maybe a little bit of freedom of speech to go with it?”

Don’t hold your breath waiting for them to say yes.

Bryan Fischer Wants Michelle Obama To Start A 'Fight Obesity, Go Straight' Anti-Lesbian Campaign

Reacting to reports that the National Institutes of Health is conducting a study on why lesbians have a higher rate of obesity than other groups, Bryan Fischer said on his radio program today that if First Lady Michelle Obama is truly serious about fighting obesity, she should start a new program aimed at encouraging women not to be lesbians that will operate under the slogan "Fight Obesity, Go Straight."

"I would suggest that if Michelle Obama really cares about obesity," Fischer said, "she should be out there leading the charge against normalizing lesbianism. She should be at the head of a campaign to convince women not to get into lesbianism. Her slogan ought to be 'Fight Obesity, Go Straight'":

Linda Harvey Marks Labor Day By Promoting Anti-Gay Discrimination

Mission America’s Linda Harvey explained the real meaning of Labor Day which, of course, is about workers resisting “homosexual lobby” activists who want to “force public respect for their deviance.”

During her radio bulletin yesterday, Harvey defended business owners who deny service to gays and lesbians, saying that they are victims of “spiteful bullying.”

“Our country is in trouble, friends, because of these radicals who want to revolutionize our moral standards,” she said. “How far will extremists go to push us into sexual anarchy? Let’s pledge to start this Fall to do what we can — lawfully of course — to stand up for our principles. This evil does not ultimately win, we know, but we can make sure it doesn’t even win in the here and now.”

Barber: Marriage Equality Took A 'Sledgehammer' To Society, Will Send It 'Tumbling Down'

Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber is on high alert after a federal judge issued a final ruling striking down Utah’s ban on polygamous relationships, and joined Janet Mefferd yesterday to discuss the ruling, which he said was just the latest sign that support for same-sex marriage took a “sledgehammer” to our society and will send it all “tumbling down.”

Barber lamented that Americans are too busy to do the careful analysis that would lead them to agree with him and instead are buying into the gay rights movement’s “propaganda.”

“Unfortunately, much of America right now is — you know, we’re all busy, people don’t have time to actually engage the process of analysis on these things and look that A leads to B that leads to C, and take it all the way down to Z, which is disastrous — they don’t have time for that, and people buy into the propaganda,” he said.

“I just hope that people will recognize that when we deviate and try to redefine something that cannot be redefined — particularly when that thing, we’re talking about marriage here, is a fundamental cornerstone of any society — if we take a sledgehammer to that cornerstone, the results are disastrous and everything comes tumbling down.”

Australian Politicians Back Out Of World Congress Of Families Event, Citing Far-Right Ties

A World Congress of Families event in Melbourne this week was supposed to feature speeches by three Australian government officials, including social services minister Kevin Andrews. Instead, all three have backed out in the face of criticism of the Illinois-based group’s promotion of harsh anti-gay and anti-choice laws around the world.

In addition, the Australian politicians had come under fire for the conference’s sponsorship by Catch the Fire ministries, a group run by far-right politician Danny Nalliah who has blamed wildfires on abortion rights and frequently lashes out against "multiculturalism." (Nalliah also happens to be an ally of bizarre birther WND columnist and RWW favorite Lord Monckton).

Andrews’ decision to back out of the WCF event is especially galling since the group had been planning to present him with its “Natural Family Man of the Year” award. In a somewhat confusing statement, Andrews criticized those asking him to back out of trying to “shut down debate” while agreeing with them that the WCF summit represented “intolerance.” The Sydney Morning Herald:

Mr Andrews issued a statement on Friday announcing he had decided not to attend the conference after learning it would be hosted by the far-right Catch the Fire Ministries.

"Tolerance is a critical value in a western liberal democracy like Australia. It was for this reason that I intended to address the World Congress of Families meeting in Melbourne tomorrow," Mr Andrews said in the statement.

"The calls for me not to attend demonstrate the intolerance of the Greens and the left - instead of arguing their case in the public arena they seek to shut down debate."

"Equally, I cannot support intolerance from other quarters. As I have been informed today that the event is now to be hosted by Catch the Fire, I have decided not to attend."

The World Congress of Families will be holding its next big conference in Salt Lake City next year. It will be interesting to see whether American politicians also choose to stay away.

Ex-Gay Activist Warns Homosexuality Is 'Another Step In The Degeneration Of A Culture That Practices Idolatry'

Ex-gay activist David Kyle Foster joined Kevin Swanson on “Generations Radio” today, which inevitably led to a discussion of how God will punish America for homosexuality.

“I’ve wondered if the opening of the Pandora’s box of the 1960s and 70s and the free sex movement that led to the shacking up, the fornication, the massive increase in the availability of pornography, etc. etc….I wonder if the incredible opening up of all these things has led to the next step, and that is homosexuality?” Swanson asked Foster.

Foster agreed that “sexual immorality” such as homosexuality amounts to “idolatry” because it involves “worshipping the creature rather than the creator.”

“Homosexuality in our culture is another step in the degeneration of a culture that practices idolatry,” he concluded.

Linda Harvey Attacks Target For 'Pushing Deviance And Perversion Into Everyone's Lives'

On her “Mission America” radio program yesterday, Linda Harvey weighed in on the National Organization for Marriage’s boycott of Target in response to the company’s filing of a court brief in support of marriage equality.

Harvey echoed NOM in taking particular issue with Target’s characterization of same-sex marriage bans as “bans” and “discrimination.”

“Have you noticed how this is how headlines often read these days?” Harvey said. “They talk about laws on natural marriage as being ‘bans’ on same-sex so-called marriage. And that’s incorrect because people who are male can still marry people who are female. The only obstacle for a few people is the presence of unnatural desires. Those desires can change with a different mind and heart.”

Later in the broadcast, Harvey read from a response she received from Target, in which the company expressed support for the “LGBT community.”

“So where’s the inclusivity for traditional values families? Target also thinks there’s an LGBT community, but what about a Christian morals community? Do they get the fact that most people have had it up to here with pushing deviance and perversion into everyone’s lives in America? That most Americans don’t accept the idea of two men or two women being married when they are obviously not?”

Truth In Action Ministries: Gays Run Public Schools

The right-wing group Truth In Action Ministries is out with a new film warning parents that public schools are run by gay rights activists who are out to destroy religious freedom. The film features such experts as radio talk show host Janet Parshall and conservative legal activists Greg Baylor and Dee Wampler.

“So, mom and dad, if you have a school district where in fact they are introducing pernicious ideas that are antithetical to the word of God, then you are going to ask yourself who you are going to serve: Mammon or God,” Parshall asks.

Wampler, for his part, quotes Patrick Henry in urging students to refuse to complete class assignments dealing with gay rights issues, which she alleged violate their First Amendment rights.

Watch excerpts here:

Flip Benham: Homosexuality Is Satan's 'Pink-Colored Glove'

On last week’s edition of the “Faith & Liberty” radio program, Flip Benham of the extremist right-wing group Operation Save America spoke with host Dave Garrison about the allegedly demonic trinity of legal abortion, LGBT rights, and Islam.

Benham characterized the Religious Right’s opposition to reproductive rights, LGBT equality and the free exercise rights of Muslims as a consolidated effort to win in a “gospel battle” against Satan.

Benham even threw together a helpful analogy to properly identify evil wherever it may lurk. He explained that homosexuality, abortion and Islam represent different incarnations of “the devil’s fist.” While “the homosexual agenda is the pink-colored glove” covering “the fist of the Devil,” abortion is Satan’s “crimson glove stained with the blood of almost 60 million little baby boys and girls.” Islam, simply enough, is “the black glove of death” that Satan uses to keep its followers trapped in “bondage.”

Later, Benham surmised that the three issues are “three of the greatest physical manifestations of the battle between two seeds – the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman.”

He lamented that while the Religious Right has been successful in rolling back reproductive health rights throughout the country, they still have their work cut out for them as far as LGBT rights are concerned. “It’s the same battle, it’s the same fist, we’re fighting the Devil and his lies in the world and the flesh, and moving it to a thing called the homosexual agenda – and it’s the Devil’s agenda.”

Scott Lively: Vicky Beeching Represents 'The Drawing Back Of The Tide' Before Gay Rights 'Tsunami'

In the days since British Christian singer Vicky Beeching came out as a lesbian, anti-gay pastor Scott Lively has been on full alert, confronting Beeching on TV and issuing a pamphlet warning churches that “a dangerous modern heresy called 'gay theology' is infiltrating the Christian church at an alarming pace.”

Lively continued his anti-Beeching crusade in an interview with WorldNetDaily this weekend, in which he warned that the singer represents “the drawing back of the tide before a tsunami” consisting of “attacks on Christians in America like we’ve never seen before.”

An evangelical Christian worship singer who has been urging churches to change their doctrine on homosexual behavior since announcing she is a lesbian is at the forefront of a coming tidal wave of “infiltration” of the church by promoters of the “gay” agenda, contends evangelical attorney, evangelist and activist Scott Lively.

Lively, president of Abiding Truth Ministries, said that with insiders on the offensive such as Vicky Beeching, a British-born artist who has become popular among evangelicals in the U.S., he expects “attacks on Christians in America like we’ve never seen before.”

He explained that after the Stonewall riots in 1969, homosexual activists banded together to oppose every American institution that did not fully accept and promote homosexual behavior.

The first victory was over the American Psychiatric Association, and within 40 years, every other group had been conquered, he said. The Boy Scouts were the latest to fall, just a year ago.

Now, the only organization left is the church, he said.

“All of their battle-hardened activists and enormous resources are all directed at the church,” he said.

The problem is that church leaders haven’t been preparing for such a fight, Lively said, and don’t really know what the movement is about.

Beeching revealed she is a lesbian in an interview last week with the Independent newspaper of London.

“What Jesus taught was a radical message of welcome and inclusion and love. I feel certain God loves me just the way I am, and I have a huge sense of calling to communicate that to young people,” she said.

Lively, however, said Beeching represents “the drawing back of the tide before a tsunami” and an indicator of “how bad this is going to get.”

Why Are 'Sexual Radicals' Accusing Poor Matt Barber, Rick Scarborough And Daniel Lapin of Being Anti-Gay?

In the latest installment of the right-wing victimhood saga, the Illinois-based World Congress of Families has released an open letter accusing “sexual radicals” of launching a “smear campaign” against them in advance of a planned conference in Melbourne later this week.

“Sexual radicals have launched a smear campaign to discredit the Melbourne conference, which misrepresents the international pro-family movement and the positions of the World Congress of Families,” the letter says. “Specifically, it is alleged that advocacy of the natural (or normative) family is somehow unfair to other families and that we ‘shame’ single-parent families, homosexual ‘couples’ and the divorced.” (Scare quotes in the original.)

"The goal of sexual radicals is to deconstruct marriage and marginalize the family, and thus to transform society into something unrecognizable to generations past," the letter continues. "Like all social experiments that attempt to create a 'new man,' these are doomed to failure."

Yes, who could accuse the signers of the letter of shaming LGBT people? Among the 80 signatories are such notable LGBT allies as Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber, who started his very own website to publish off-the-charts anti-gay vitriol; Rabbi Daniel Lapin, who has said that homosexuality is a form of “barbarism”; Russian World Congress of Families activists Alexei Komov and Pavel Parfentiev, who have cheered on their country’s new spate of anti-gay laws; and Rick Scarborough, who claims that AIDS is God’s punishment for homosexuality.

Also joining the defense of the World Congress of Families are the Family Research Council’s Patrick Fagan, the National Organization for Marriage’s Brian Brown, former House majority leader Tom Delay, the Alliance Defending Freedom’s Benjamin Bull, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, along with a number of international allies of WCF.

Meanwhile, the Human Rights Campaign has just released a new report detailing WCF’s support for repressive anti-gay laws throughout the world.

Anti-Gay Pastor: LGBT Non-Discrimination Bill Legalizes Pedophilia, Destroys 'Freedom As We Know It'

During a Friday interview with the Tea Party News Network, Stacy Swimp, a Michigan pastor and anti-gay activist, denounced an effort in the Michigan state legislature to add sexual orientation and gender identity to the state’s civil rights law, which already bars discrimination based on factors such as race, religion, sex, weight and marital status.

Speaking with Tim Constantine of “The Capitol Hill Show,” Swimp alleged that “frauds” in both the Democratic and Republican parties are “set against Christian liberty, our Christian right of freedom of expression and conscience.”

“We need to make sure that we are doing everything we can to stop them from amending our civil rights bill to include this civil rights language, or my friends, freedom as we know it will no longer exist,” he said.

While the amendment defines sexual orientation as heterosexuality, homosexuality or bisexuality, Swimp said that it would actually legalize pedophilia: “The fact is that pedophilia in fact is a sexual orientation, so I suppose that they intend to include that as a civil right.”

Joseph Farah: Being Against Same-Sex Marriage Is A Sexual Orientation

In a WorldNetDaily column today, Joseph Farah came up with a creative argument for exempting businesses that deny services to gay couples from nondiscrimination laws. Opposing same-sex marriage, Farah argues, is itself a “sexual orientation” and therefore a law prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation is actually discriminatory against the sexual orientation of marriage equality opponents.

Let me pose a hypothetical intellectual challenge: The law that forms the basis for the action against the Giffords in New York is a provision that bans discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Yet, isn’t that precisely what is happening to the Giffords? Are they not being coerced to accept and approve someone else’s sexual orientation? Are they not permitted to hold their own sexual orientation, one that acknowledges their God’s definition that marriage is a union of one man and one woman?

The Giffords are not campaigning to prevent other people from following their own conscience as to their sexual choices and activities. It’s just the opposite. They are being coerced by the state to take part in the sexual choices and activities of others.

Isn’t that obvious?

Farah finishes things up on more familiar ground, attempting to tie together the gay rights movement and Islamic radicals.

When “non-discrimination” becomes victimization of those with different religious and moral convictions, we literally have the establishment of a state religion and, effectively, the repeal of the First Amendment.

Who wants that?

It’s not Christians.

It’s not Jews.

Just look around and see for yourself.

Some people are trying to get the state to force those with different values, morals and religious idea to serve them in ways that violate their consciences.

I only see that kind of coercion demanded among two groups of people today – those who believe in the unlimited power of the state as their “god” and others who believe their god wants them to kill or subjugate all “infidels.”

Steve Lonegan Gets Job Pushing Gold Standard With Anti-Gay Group That Supported His Campaign

The Star-Ledger reported earlier this week that Steve Lonegan, the unsuccessful Republican candidate for Senate in last year’s New Jersey special election, has a new job: leading the anti-gay, anti-choice American Principles Project’s sideline effort to bring back the gold standard.

Lonegan told The Auditor he is now the director of monetary policy for the American Principles Project, a conservative advocacy group. He plans to work to spread the gospel about what he says as the Federal Reserve’s “failed policy” and the need to bring back the gold standard.

“We will be working hard in states like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina to see to it that the (presidential) primary candidates in both parties are forced to talk about this issue,” Lonegan said. “They can’t hide from it.”

The American Principles Project was started in 2009 by Robert George, the intellectual leader of the anti-gay movement, to pressure Republican politicians to embrace both fiscal and social conservative policies. APP currently employs Maggie Gallagher, who founded the National Organization for Marriage along with George and served as NOM’s first president.

In his new job, it seems that Lonegan will unite the main political interests of APP’s chairman Sean Fieler, a little-known hedge fund manager who has become a major donor to the Religious Right and to social conservative causes in New York and New Jersey.

As we noted in a profile of Fieler earlier this year, the gold standard seems to be a pet project of his, so much so that an idea that is widely dismissed among mainstream economists has become a major policy platform of the American Principles Project. The issue was mentioned nowhere in the group’s original mission statement and doesn’t seem to have appeared on the group’s website until Fieler came on board as chairman in 2010.

Fieler and the American Principles Project have a history with Lonegan. Fieler is the major funder of the American Principles Fund , a super PAC affiliated with APP, which last year spent nearly $100,000 running anti-choice ads against Lonegan’s Democratic opponent Cory Booker. Fieler himself has maxed out personal contributions to Lonegan’s recent campaigns, giving his candidate committee $10,400 over the past two years.

Now, Lonegan will bring his unabashed anti-choice and anti-gay politics (remember when he speculated about whether Booker was gay?) to help unite the American Principles Project’s social and economic policy priorities.

The Star-Ledger notes that until this year, APP employed Booker’s current Republican Senate opponent Jeff Bell.

Fischer: God Will Use ISIS To Punish America For Gay Rights

On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer spent an entire segment delivering a convoluted exegesis of the Old Testament in an effort to explain that God will eventually get fed up with America's tolerance of homosexuality and will use radical Islamic groups like ISIS to carry out his wrath.

Just as God used the Israelites to destroy the Canaanites as punishment for their utter debauchery and then used "pagan armies" to punish Israel when it fell into sin, Fischer explained, so too will God use Islamic radicals to inflict his judgment upon America.

Asserting that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah are "just like the Gay Gestapo is today" and that America is celebrating behavior that God calls an abomination while persecuting those who stand for God's values, Fischer warned that "God eventually is going to run out of patience with the United States."

And when that day comes, he said, God "will use pagan armies to discipline his people if they turn from him in rebellion and disobedience and descend into debauchery," pointing to the rise of ISIS to raise the possibility that "God will use the pagan armies of Allah to discipline the United States for our debauchery":

Fischer On Homosexuality: People 'Don't Want To Visualize It Because It Is Disgusting'

Bryan Fischer kicked off his radio program today with a discussion about the revulsion that God feels whenever gay people have sex, which is the same disgust that all human beings feel when thinking about it unless, that is, they have been brainwashed by society to accept it.

Homosexuality, Fischer explained, is an "abomination" because "it causes an inner revulsion. In other words, when you see it, you think about it, you recoil from it. Your instinct is to recoil from it in some kind of disgust."

"Homosexual behavior is an abomination to God," he continued. "When God sees it, it causes him to recoil. And when we think about the actual act of homosexuality, we have exactly the same reaction. Most people think about that, they don't want to think about that, they don't want to visualize it because it is disgusting. And if people aren't politically conditioned to accept it, their natural reaction is that's just not normal, that's just not natural, that's not what human beings were designed for, that's not what they were made for":

Sen. Ted Cruz To Join Anti-Gay Activists In Honoring His Father

Next month, Rick Scarborough's Vision America will host its annual "Heroes of Faith Gala" where the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins will receive the 2014 "National Hero of Faith Award" and Rafael Cruz, a Religious Right activist and father of Sen. Ted Cruz, will be honored with the "Don Wildmon Award," named for the founder of the American Family Association.

Today, Vision America sent out an email urging activists to register for the event, revealing that the senator is also going to be in attendance, picking up the Don Wildmon Award on behalf of his father and delivering remarks:

As we have noted before, Ted Cruz has great admiration for Scarborough despite Scarborough's long history of rabidly anti-gay bigotry.

In recent years, Scarborough has defended Russia's anti-gay laws, claimed there should be no such thing as Gay Pride Month because "those who engage in unnatural acts should hang their heads in shame," insisted that gay people should always be referred to as "sodomites," and called for a class action lawsuit to be filed against homosexuality.

Just last month, Scarborough said that God would be entirely justified for destroying America with a nuclear bomb because of the nation's tolerance and embrace of gay rights:

Back in 2011, he declared that AIDS is God's judgment upon those who engage in immoral acts:

And on September 4, Sen. Ted Cruz will be joining Scarborough for a gala honoring his father.

Randy Thomasson Claims LGBT-Inclusive Schools Make Students 'Enemies of God'

On VCY America’s “Crosstalk” radio program yesterday, Randy Thomasson of Save California talked to host Jim Schneider about the alleged persecution of Christians at the hands of “radical” LGBT-affirming public school officials.

Thomasson said that students and families have become the victims of a “perverse, unnatural, unbiblical, unhealthy, tyrannical sexual agenda” advanced by the state government and LGBT rights advocates who seek to eliminate free speech and religious liberties.

After claiming that sex-ed curricula ignore health risks because such information would be considered “discriminatory or adverse,” Thomasson speculated that such negligence would open up the door to “liability lawsuits” against the government from parents of children who contracted sexually transmitted diseases.

“Michelle Obama wants to make sure every child has a stalk of broccoli and an apple on their plate, because we have to look out for the well-being of that child,” Schneider said. “But when we talk about the serious health consequences when children violate the laws of nature, there is no concern with this administration.”

Thomasson expressed concern that anti-discrimination policies “trampled” on the rights of Christian students and educators, whom he believes should not be punished for being “naturally revolted” against “perverse sexuality.” He urged parents to remove their children from public schools in favor of homeschooling and biblically-approved alternatives before state laws are able to turn students “into enemies of God and enemies of their own family."

Scott Lively Takes On 'Dangerous Heresy' Of Gay-Affirming Christians

Something that might bug Religious Right leaders even more than the expansion of marriage equality in the U.S. is the increasing acceptance of homosexuality and LGBT equality among Christians.

The latest salvo against Christians who challenge anti-gay interpretations of scripture comes from Scott Lively. Lively originally gained notoriety for his book "The Pink Swastika," which blamed homosexuals for the rise of Nazi Germany, but may now be more well known for his travels fanning anti-gay sentiment and encouraging the passage of anti-gay legislation in Uganda and around the globe. Earlier this month Lively lectured prominent Christian singer Vicky Beeching, who recently came out as a lesbian, for having “given in to the lie that she is a homosexual.” Lively asserted, “There’s no such thing as a gay person.”

His latest project is a brochure that is meant to take on gay-affirming Christians — even Christians who decry the Religious Right’s obsession with homosexuality but agree that it is a sin. Lively is promoting the brochure on Matt Barber’s wildly anti-gay BarbWire as “An Open Letter to Christian Leaders in America.”

The brochure includes 18 short interpretations of Bible passages that Lively says make his point that homosexuality is not just another sin, but “the harbinger of God’s wrath.”

In his “open letter” he portrays the LGBT equality movement as pursuing a long-term “blueprint for supplanting Biblical morality with sexual anarchy — in essence, the overthrow of family-centered Christian civilization.” The only remaining barrier to gay “cultural hegemony” is the Christian Church, which is why gay rights activists are trying to destroy it from within. Lively’s brochure warns:

A dangerous modern heresy called “gay theology” is infiltrating the Christian church at an alarming pace. Many believers, fearful of being called “haters,” are trivializing the threat by calling homosexuality “just another sin.”

Lively uses his open letter to promote himself as a speaker, spokesman, and workshop leader. But, he insists, “This is not a marketing campaign.”

We are not offering the brochure for sale. We simply want your help to quickly disseminate the brochure to every Christian leader in America. We will provide as many copies of this brochure as you can use at our cost of $.07 per piece plus shipping and whatever donation you feel led to offer. Alternatively, if you provide us an up-to-date list of pastors or other leaders we will send it to them ourselves (but please provide help with postage). Or if you desire to print your own supply, we will send you the artwork. If for any reason you dislike the brochure, we exhort you to take action in your own way to spread the warning and rally believers against this dangerous modern heresy called “gay theology.”

Lively’s brochure is produced by Defend the Family International, an arm of his Abiding Truth Ministries.

In an interview with Rick Santorum on Tuesday, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins claimed that American Christians are being persecuted because the U.S. “began to normalize behavior that had long been considered inappropriate” and that such supposed persecution in the U.S. is contributing to violent religious persecution around the globe. “You hate to use the term persecution, because when you look around the world, we see real religious persecution,” Santorum, who was guest hosting Steve Deace’s show, said. “We see people dying, churches being... The Democratic opponent of prominent Christian Reconstructionist and southern secessionist Michael Peroutka in the race for a county council seat in Maryland was reportedly hit with a nasty anti-LGBT robocall in the final days of the campaign. The robocall, purportedly from a group called “Marylanders for Transgenders” asked recipients to call Peroutka’s openly gay opponent, Patrick Armstrong, and thank him for “coming out of the closet” and for supporting an LGBT-inclusive nondiscrimination bill that the robocall says allows “transgenders” to... Anti-gay activists have frequently insisted that their anti-gay bigotry is an intuitive, natural part of who they are, and today Bryan Fischer made the case that yes, homophobic people are simply born that way. The American Family Association spokesman told a listener on his radio program, “Focal Point,” that the reason a term like “sodomite” has fallen out of favor is because it “refers to an ugly practice.” People recoil at the thought of “homosexual behavior,” Fischer explained, because God wants them to do that. “Sodomy is the...
