Roy Moore's Lawyer Demands Alabama Defy 'Wicked' SCOTUS Ruling, Choose 'God Or Satan'

The head of Alabama’s court system, an employee of notoriously anti-gay Chief Justice Roy Moore, has sent a letter to Gov. Robert Bentley and other state elected officials urging them to defy the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling or else “become complicit in the takeover by the wicked,” reports AL.com.

“Public officials are ministers of God assigned the duty of punishing the wicked and protecting the righteous,” Win Johnson, director of legal staff at the state’s Administrative Office of the Court, wrote to the elected officials in a letter obtained by the newspaper. “If the public officials decide to officially approve of the acts of the wicked, they must logically not protect the righteous from the wicked. In fact, they must become protectors of the wicked. You cannot serve two masters; you must pick – God or Satan.”

He continues with a defense of criminal prohibitions on homosexuality: “The criminal laws against homosexual sodomy are for the protection of the righteous, particularly the young, the weak, the vulnerable, who need the law to teach them right from wrong when in a vulnerable state. The U.S. Supreme Court, although it claims to have done so in 2003, cannot take something that God calls a crime and declare it not a crime.”

He then equates compliance with the marriage equality ruling with obedience in Nazi Germany, writing “the civil government must now become a persecuting power; you cannot avoid it.”

Perhaps Johnson is an American Family Radio listener.

Here is the full letter obtained by AL.com:

Time for Public Officials to take their stand one way or the other

Jesus Christ is Lord of all. He came to save the world by His death and resurrection. That world includes you, me, the family, the civil government, all the institutions of life. He came to advance His Father's kingdom, not watch man run rampant upon the earth as if Christ had never come. As if it were the days of Noah!

Public officials are ministers of God assigned the duty of punishing the wicked and protecting the righteous. If the public officials decide to officially approve of the acts of the wicked, they must logically not protect the righteous from the wicked. In fact, they must become protectors of the wicked. You cannot serve two masters; you must pick – God or Satan.

The criminal laws against homosexual sodomy are for the protection of the righteous, particularly the young, the weak, the vulnerable, who need the law to teach them right from wrong when in a vulnerable state. The U.S. Supreme Court, although it claims to have done so in 2003, cannot take something that God calls a crime and declare it not a crime.

We're facing something even worse now, the civil government taking a new step and actually requiring the approval and sanctifying by the state of an evil behavior. Five justices on the U.S. Supreme Court have now opined that the States of this country and all of us must approve of so-called marriages of same sex couples.

Therefore, the civil government must now become a persecuting power; you cannot avoid it. The civil government must protect what it approves of. It must protect the advocates' employment, their business dealings, their lives in every way. Against whom? Against those who think their lifestyle is evil. That's you and me, bible-believing Christians, the Church, etc.

Public official, what will you do? Will you stand up for the law of Alabama, for the people, for the weak and vulnerable, for the law of God? Or will you capitulate? Will you become complicit in the takeover by the wicked?

"I must follow the law," you say. Law? What law? There is no law anymore, there's just opinion. One day this, one day that. When the law becomes merely the opinion of a handful of people on the courts, there is no longer any law. There is tyranny. There is chaos. But there is no law.

The young and the weak, those that are caused to stumble by courts that approve of what is evil, are those whom Jesus referred to when he said, "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones." Luke 17:2. You don't want to be complicit in allowing such stumbling blocks.

Don't use the Nazi war-crimes trial defense: "My superiors (or the courts) told me to do it." You're not standing for the rule of law when you capitulate to a law that defies God and exposes people to the wicked. You're just a coward making excuses!

Or will your conscience cause you to resign? Why would you leave the people of this State, their children, your children and grandchildren to the wolves, those who would rend the society apart with their denial of what's good and evil?

Your duty is to stand against the ravages of a superior authority that would go beyond its rightful power and force upon the people something evil. That's what the founders of our country did when Parliament exceeded its powers. That's what the Puritans in civil government in the 1600's did when the King exceeded his powers.

On Judgment Day, you won't stand in front of the media, the advocates of "Equality," or even the federal courts; you'll stand before the King of Kings, the Judge and Ruler over the Kings of the Earth, Jesus Christ. His law is not subject to the vote of man, and He, asthe good and loving author of that law, does not exempt any nation from it. The law's author, speaking of Himself as "the stone which the builders rejected," said, "Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." Luke 20:18.

What can you do? You have authority as an elected official. You also are sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution and Alabama Constitution. Find a way to do so. Don't acquiesce to the takeover (actually the takedown)! Use your authority and every legal angle to oppose the tyrants! If necessary, just say, "No." It is not rebellion for you to say, "Your interpretation of the Constitution is wrong, beyond your authority, and detrimental to this nation." In fact, it's your duty. You're not opposing the rule of law, you're upholding it by saying that.

Phyllis Schlafly Proposes Congressional Resolution Affirming The Dignity Of Straight People

Phyllis Schlafly is none too pleased with the Supreme Court’s decision striking down state gay marriage bans, and has a modest proposal for Congress: Pass a resolution affirming the “dignity of opposite-sex married couples,” especially that of couples where “a provider-husband is the principal breadwinner and his wife is dedicated to the job of homemaker.”

While this resolution might not change much in the short term, the anti-feminist crusader writes in her syndicated column today, it might act as an inspiration to the anti-gay movement as they continue to fight marriage equality.

Justice Kennedy's opinion for a 5-4 majority of the Supreme Court has rightly been condemned for its lack of grounding in the constitutional text he is sworn to uphold. Unable to find gay marriage in either the due process clause or the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment, Kennedy ultimately rests his case on what Justice Clarence Thomas sarcastically called the "dignity clause" of the Constitution.

There is no such clause, of course, although Kennedy's majority opinion mentioned "dignity" nine times. But if dignity can be conferred by decisions of the Supreme Court, then Congress can do so, too.

Therein lies a first response: Congress should formally recognize the dignity of opposite-sex married couples and resolve to protect that dignity in our laws. A joint resolution should recite the many reasons why the special union of husband and wife has been honored for "millennia," as Kennedy admitted.

A crash program to rebuild the traditional American nuclear family is urgently necessary for continuing our nation's political and economic success in this century. This won't happen if we transform marriage into a means of giving "dignity" to mostly childless homosexuals.

Once Congress is on a roll to confer dignity, it should confer an extra measure of dignity on the single-earner family, where a provider-husband is the principal breadwinner and his wife is dedicated to the job of homemaker, a role more socially beneficial than working in the paid labor force.

After reciting the foregoing reasons and many others, Congress should conclude its resolution by formally resolving that the traditional family, founded on a married husband and wife, carries special dignity and deserves special recognition because it provides unique benefits to society.

This is not to deny that every human person has value and dignity, or that other domestic relationships may have some value in limited circumstances. But Congress should respond to Kennedy with a ringing affirmation of the unique dignity that should be accorded to society's foundational unit: the marriage of husband and wife.

Naysayers will scoff that the foregoing resolution doesn't change the Supreme Court decision, and you can imagine a late-night comedian comparing it to the medal of courage the Wizard of Oz presented to the Cowardly Lion. But movie fans will recall how that gesture inspired Dorothy and her companions toward achieving their goal.

Anti-Gay Pundits Predict Marriage Equality Will Lead To Government Taking Children From Christian Parents

In a discussion yesterday on American Family Radio’s “Sandy Rios in the Morning,” Rios and anti-gay pastor Erwin Lutzer warned that marriage equality will turn American into the Soviet Union as children in public schools who embrace “sexual confusion” will become informants on their parents who will eventually be carted off by the government.

Lutzer argued that with the rise of gay rights, children are “being indoctrinated in ways” equivalent to “Russia of years ago.” Because of this, “parents need to take that responsibility” to overcome “huge barriers” and “ultimate destruction” as “these children are gonna take their own sexual confusion into their families and into their relationships and it’s just going to exponentially multiply. The challenge is absolutely huge.”

“It is huge,” agreed Rios. The prospect of sexual confusion also reminded Rios of “the old Soviet Union,” where children were “indoctrinated all day at school and then they go home and their parents can only whisper their true beliefs to the kids. And then the kids were asked to tattle, to report their parents if they were teaching anything other than what the state was teaching. And so, parental influence dwindled.” Fearing this Orwellian future for America, Rios warned that after the breakup of the Soviet Union, “the only reason people still knew about God was because their grandmothers had told them about God.”

“We’re going to be at war with our government and with culture around us,” Rios continued, “and our children are going to be so delusional – they already are – in culture that it’s going to create a huge line between us and our children. And it’s gonna be tough, tough.”

Arguing for the need for private schooling and homeschooling, Lutzer claimed public schools “are going to be deliberately so confused on this issue that it would be impossible, really, for a Christian child to go through a school without being infected by the terrible teachings that that child is going to receive.”

Recalling an article he had read years ago, Lutzer discussed the existence of “intolerant personality disorder,” and argued that “it’s not beyond reason to think that the time will come when parents that homeschool children, religious parents, will be diagnosed as culturally intolerant and personality intolerant. And therefore, as a result, their children will be taken away from them.”

Rios thought this was “certainly within the realm of possibility” because “we already know that this has been happening for a long time” with diversity training for corporate employees or, as she called them, “reeducation camps.”

“God is bringing judgement to the nation and ushering about the end of all things, really,” Rios concluded.

Sandy Rios: Gay Rainbows Increase Terrorism Threat For America

American Family Association official Sandy Rios warned on her radio program yesterday that the Obama administration’s decision to light up the White House in rainbow colors in celebration of the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision was “an unbelievable affront to God” that will have “consequences.” According to Rios, God will lift His hand of protection from America in response to the court’s ruling and the celebratory rainbow images, thereby increasing the threat of terror attacks on the United States.

The rainbow, she said, “was God’s sign to mankind that he would never destroy the earth again by flood,” so if “you take his symbol and you use it for a sign of sexual behavior that is ungodly, unallowed,” it will have “some consequence.”

“My grief is for you, because you don’t understand what you just did. You don’t understand,” she told gay rights activists. “Again, now, to get more practical about this, the terror threat against this nation has gone up exponentially.”

Citing warnings about possible terrorist attacks in America over the  July 4th weekend, Rios declared that, to make matters worse, “it is Ramadan.” Unlike Christians, whom Rios claimed understand the true meaning of the word ‘holy,’ Muslims use the holy month of Ramadan to “fast so that [they] can murder people,” she said.

Rios then pivoted to address gay rights activists, telling them that when you “ignore God” you “do away with his protection,” which is “why we fear for the country and we fear for you too.”

Meanwhile, she said, American Christians have “entered a new era” of persecution where they will be “like believers in Iran and Syria” or “first-century Rome, pagan Rome, China most recently, Russia before the breakup of the Soviet Union. We are entering a time of living in a hostile culture.”

“We’re gonna see a lot of things change,” warned Rios, “and those of you that stay strong in your personal convictions, you’re gonna have trouble at work, you may lose your jobs. This is a new era, so it’s not for the faint of heart.”

Religious Right legal activist Michael Farris joined Rios later on the program, telling her that after the marriage decision, “I really feel like I’m a stranger living in a strange land. They’ve stolen America from us, and they’ve stolen our heritage and they’ve stolen everything by a five-to-four vote.”

“I don’t think that’s an overstatement,” responded Rios. “The people that won on Friday don’t understand that they have lost terribly. We’ve lost protections of God for this country. We have thumbed our nose at him using his symbol, the rainbow, which was a personal, sacred symbol that he gave to a sign to earth that he would not destroy it again. They have thumbed their nose a God’s design for man, a man and a woman designed from the beginning of time and creation, and it will not, it will not stand. While we’re under such terrible terror threats, you know, our protections have been lifted and that’s what they don’t understand. And they are in the same boat that we’re in so it’s a — it is a sad day for America.”

Religious Right Pundit: 'Victims Of Homofascism' Will Take To The Streets Against Gay Marriage

Writing in the far-right outlet BarbWire today, conservative pundit Sylvia Thompson says that people are getting ready to take to the “streets in civil disobedience” with “planned acts of resistance” just like during the days of the Civil Rights Movement, but this time it will be the “victims of homofascism” marching in “opposition to homosexual sham ‘marriages.’”

Most Americans, Thompson hopes, will not “bow to homofascism,” even as “more and more Americans will be persecuted, prosecuted, and imprisoned as this Court ruling goes into effect.”

“At some point, Americans being so treated will say ‘No’ and stop responding out of fear,” Thompson writes. “All of America will then grasp what homofascism truly means, as the Germans eventually grasped what Nazism meant.”

I posted an article at Renew America several months ago titled “The Coming Criminalization of Christianity in America.” I suggested that the outcome of the Supreme Court’s decision on homosexual “marriage” would be to enshrine sodomy into American law and in so doing, would decree that all Americans must bow to homofascism. As expected, they have done the despicable deed. Now what?

Many, many so-called Christian leaders will, of course, do nothing other than what they have done throughout the decades, and that is effectively ignore the homosexual lobby and its lawlessness. Other so-called Christian leaders are clearly apostate and have embraced that lawlessness, while falsely claiming that God agrees with them. That is a despicable lie. God does not agree, as Scripture clearly reveals. And then there are those believing Christian leaders who will fight evil. They are the hope of this nation, at least until Almighty God ultimately determines America’s fate.

Pastor William Owens (a black minister) of The Coalition for American Action and Principles (CAAP), consisting of ministers of all races, has decided to take a firm stand.

His organization will view the Court’s pernicious decision as equivalent to previous Courts’ decisions against black Americans, who sought equal treatment under law. That was the time when a black American minister Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his followers used the only tool available to them against a gargantuan lawless court system. They took to the streets in civil disobedience. Pastor Owens has announced that his organization will consider doing the same to fight the current Court’s ruling against Christians.

In a similar vein, former high school coach Dave Daubenmire has formed a large group of Christians called the Salt and Light Brigade, referencing Christ’s call to believers to be the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:11-14). Coach Daubenmire indicates that he will be posting updates on planned acts of resistance to the lawlessness of this Supreme Court.

Bible Christians and the rest of the millions of Americans who made known their staunch opposition to homosexual sham “marriages” through the ballot box (in 31 states), can now stand with these brave men and others like them who have fearlessly chosen to resist. We can declare boldly that we will not be disenfranchised. Why should we allow disenfranchisement in America, where so much blood has been spilled to guarantee us the right of conscience?

More and more Americans will be persecuted, prosecuted, and imprisoned as this Court ruling goes into effect. It is certain to play out that way, because eventually the persecuted will stop accepting lawless court rulings that result in their bankruptcy and Naziesque brainwashing sessions (“sensitivity training”) that are punishment for noncompliance with evil.

At some point, Americans being so treated will say “No” and stop responding out of fear. All of America will then grasp what homofascism truly means, as the Germans eventually grasped what Nazism meant.

With the organization and planning that Pastor Owens, Coach Daubenmire, and groups like them will provide, victims of homofascism can now share a sense that they are not alone. Organized Americans stand with them.

Alabama Official: Courts That Recognize Gay Rights 'A Bigger Threat To The United States Than ISIS'

The mood was apparently apoplectic at a press conference held by gay-rights opponents in front of the Alabama state judicial building yesterday, as one Republican state official called the U.S. Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision “an assault on God, on Christian heritage and on our culture” and warned that the “runaway judiciary is a bigger threat to the United States than ISIS” and “liberal judges have done [more] harm to our country and our Constitution than Al Qaeda.”

Public Service Commissioner Chip Beeker, who made the ISIS remarks, was joined by Joe Godfrey of the Alabama Citizens Action Project, who warned that Christians will soon be fired from their jobs just for attending church and by John Eidsmoe, the influential Christian Reconstructionist thinker and Michele Bachmann mentor, who said that the Supreme Court’s decision is moot because two justices who had performed legal same-sex weddings should have recused themselves.

Eidsmoe is the senior counsel at the Foundation for Moral Law, the organization started by Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who has been clashing with the federal courts over marriage equality. The group, which is now led by Moore’s wife, Kayla, has questioned the “validity” of the decision and vowed to keep on fighting it.

The Montgomery Advertiser was on the scene of the press conference:

Public Service Commissioner Chip Beeker told the crowd that "five unelected and unaccountable justices imposed their will on the people of Alabama and the United States."

"This was not an interpretation of the Constitution. It was an assault on God, on Christian heritage and on our culture," Beeker said.

"The runaway judiciary is a bigger threat to the United States than Isis. Liberal judges have done harm to our country and our constitution than Al Qaeda."

Joe Godfrey, executive director of the Alabama Citizens Action Program, which lobbies the Legislature on behalf of churches, said people who attend churches that oppose same-sex marriage could be threatened with losing their jobs.

"I predict it's going to happen when big corporations, CEOs, tell people that work as their employees, ''You know, if you keep going to that church that teaches against homosexuality, teaches what the Bible says, we're going to have to let you go.'

"So they're going to be forced to make a choice between a church that they attend and have been attending for years, and their job."

[John] Eidsmoe also said the Supreme Court's 5-4 decision was illegitimate because two of the justices who supported it -- Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan -- had performed same-sex marriages.

The foundation had filed a motion for Ginsburg and Kagan to recuse themselves from the case.

"They were incapable of considering this question objectively," Eidsmore said. "And therefore, they had every duty to recuse."

FRC Warns Obama Trying To 'Eliminate' Christianity Through Gay Rights

The Religious Right’s fear-mongering of impending anti-Christian persecution in the wake of the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision reached a crescendo last night with a fundraising email from the Family Research Council warning that President Obama plans to “eliminate” Christianity and demanding contributions “before it is literally too late.”

“[S]ame-sex ‘marriage’ is not the ultimate issue,” FRC President Tony Perkins warns in the email, “it is a stepping-stone. The real issue is the Obama administration's dogged determination to eliminate anything and everything that stands in the way of the President's radical agenda. Silence dissent. And to do that, you punish speech -- and belief.”

“Orthodox Christianity's truth doesn't change,” he adds, “and as long as we remain tethered to this transcendent, unchangeable truth, we are a problem for them. If you can't change it, you must eliminate it. Which is what they are seeking to do.”

“With the Supreme Court ruling to redefine marriage, things are going to get rough for Christians in America,” he writes, comforting his flock by quoting Jesus’ warnings to his disciples about persecution.

All emphases are in the original:

It is no exaggeration to say that this is a crisis.

FRC Action is moving fast on this. We are pushing for passage of FADA -- the First Amendment Defense Act: legislation that will help protect people of faith from their own government. It would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief in natural marriage.

Under FADA (similar to legislation previously known as the Marriage and Religious Freedom Act) the same institutions that Verrilli warned about -- child welfare organizations, private schools, religious universities, relief providers, abstinence groups, military religious contractors, adoption agencies, Christian hospitals, political nonprofits and others -- would be spared the government's crackdown.

But we need your help on this.

I'm asking you to take immediate action -- give a generous contribution to help us fight back before it's literally too late, and the exercise of our religious freedoms are relegated to a few hours on Sunday morning.

The Supreme Court case that revealed the government's intentions made it clear: same-sex "marriage" is not the ultimate issue; it is a stepping-stone. The real issue is the Obama administration's dogged determination to eliminate anything and everything that stands in the way of the President's radical agenda. Silence dissent. And to do that, you punish speech -- and belief.

We also need to understand: With the Supreme Court ruling to redefine marriage, things are going to get rough for Christians in America. But we should not be surprised. Jesus warned us this would happen in John Chapters 15 and 16 when He essentially says, I've warned you they will hate you because you follow Me, so that you're not surprised when it happens and it doesn't cause you to be offended and fall away from the truth.

In the view of the Left, standing firm for biblical values is beyond preposterous: it's dangerous. By holding fast to what the Bible teaches about human interactions, you make yourself dangerous to this government. Orthodox Christianity's truth doesn't change -- and as long as we remain tethered to this transcendent, unchangeable truth, we are a problem for them. If you can't change it, you must eliminate it. Which is what they are seeking to do.

Our culture has become dangerous.

If we don't stop this march against freedom now, we will see a rapid erosion of our liberties . We will see the disappearance of tax exemptions for Christian ministries and institutions and student loans for Christian students. We will see a renewed push for ENDA (the so-called Employment Non-Discrimination Act), which would tie the hands of Christian business owners. We will see a host of executive orders issued by the President before he leaves office.

This radical President is sure to push the envelope. He will make every move he can, with a firm belief that Republicans will not have the political will and courage to undo any of them.

Ben Carson: Congress Could Pass A 'Creative' Law To Undo Marriage Equality Decision

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson, who acknowledged on Friday that the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling is “the law of the land,” seems to be retooling his position, telling Iowa talk radio host Simon Conway later in the very same day that Congress could pass a “creative” law to “negate” the court’s decision.

When Conway asked Carson if he thought the decision was “a done deal,” Carson replied that it was not.

“I hope it will be revisited because the reason that we have separation of powers is to prevent runaway courts, runaway executive branch, runaway legislative branch,” he said. “The laws are made by the legislative branch. And, you know, you can make a law to negate virtually anything, you just have to be creative in the way that you do it. So no, I don’t think it’s over by any stretch of the imagination.”

Carson added that if he were to become president, he “would certainly get involved” in undoing the marriage decision because although he wants to “respect everybody and let everybody do what they want to do,” if “everybody gets the right to change things for their group” that will lead to “chaos.”

Carson also told Conway that the founding fathers certainly did not intend to have “people who are appointed and not elected making decisions about the lifestyle of the people.”

Jindal: 'White House Made A Mockery Of Itself' In Reaction To Marriage & Health Care Rulings

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is furious at the Supreme Court for its rulings last week rejecting a challenge to the Affordable Care Act and knocking down same-sex marriage bans around the nation. In an interview with Iowa conservative radio host Simon Conway on Friday, Jindal repeated his suggestion that “we just get rid of the Supreme Court,” adding that the “upcoming assault on religious liberty” that he has been warning about “is here.”

“So the Supreme Court’s basically saying words have no meaning, we don’t have to follow the Constitution,” he said. “Simon, I’m always looking for ways to save money. Why don’t we just get rid of the Supreme Court? Chief Roberts is maybe a great politician, but their job isn’t to be politicians, isn’t to be elected officials, their job is to read and apply the Constitution.”

“I’ve been very, very worried about the upcoming assault on religious liberty,” he added. “It is here. If the left, they condone discrimination against Christian florist, business owners and others that don’t want to participate in wedding ceremonies that violate their conscience or religious beliefs.

“If the left were really honest, Simon, they should just repeal the First Amendment to the Constitution. They don’t believe in it, they don’t believe in the freedom of religious liberty, they don’t believe in the Second Amendment, might as well get rid of that while they’re out of it, they might as well try to get rid of the 10th Amendment, they don’t believe in states’ rights.”

He added that the “White House made a mockery of itself” in its celebration of both rulings.

FRC Spokesman: Anti-Gay Christians Can Take Lesson From Charleston Families On 'How To Handle Adversity'

The Family Research Council’s Craig James said on the organization’s “Washington Watch” program on Friday that gay-rights opponents will face such challenges in the wake of the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling that they should take lessons on “how to handle adversity” from the survivors of the mass shooting at a church in Charleston, South Carolina.

James was interviewing FRC President Tony Perkins,  who warned that in the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision, conservative Christians are “going to have to stand together because there are going to be some who are going to be casualties in this effort if we stand for biblical truth.”

Perhaps, responded James, these Christian casualties are “part of God’s plan.” Turning the fear rhetoric up a few more notches, James prophesied that “something is going to happen monumentally to someone that we didn’t think it would happen to, uh, Pastor Jack Graham or one of these big churches is going to get attacked, and it’s gonna put front and center stage the reality of this decision today. And maybe that’s what gets folks finally engaged.”

Whatever happens next, Perkins asserted, opponents of LGBT rights must continue “in love” to “speak that truth, to let that light shine.”

“In love,” James concluded. “And I guess Charleston is a great example on how they’ve sent a message to the world and to Americans about how to handle adversity.”

Michael Brown Thanks Justice Kennedy For Religious Persecution That Will 'Galvanize' Church

Anti-gay activist Michael Brown released a snarky thank-you note today to Justice Anthony Kennedy, author of the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision upholding marriage equality nationwide.  According to Brown’s letter, the ruling will “galvanize” the anti-marriage-equality movement the way Roe v. Wade galvanized the anti-abortion movement.

In a moment of time, you have done more to energize our side than a string of political victories for us could ever have done.

You have so painted us into a corner and so overstepped the bounds of your office that you have singlehandedly strengthened our resolve to stand, even unifying groups and individuals that had not worked together before now.

For that, sir, I sincerely thank you.

I also want to thank you for confirming what we have been saying for many years now, namely, that gay activism is the principle threat to our freedoms of speech, religion, and conscience.

Brown says the marriage equality ruling has given justification to “a torrent of hatred” aimed at religious conservatives, and he cites a biblical injunction from Jesus to his followers to rejoice when they face persecution.

Thank you, Justice Kennedy, for bringing unprecedented religious persecution to the shores of our nation.  Despite the darkness and pain ahead, this will only cause the Church to wake up and grow stronger.

It is worth noting that Brown made similar remarks about a wake-up call for the Church, as well as a “fresh call to revolution”  among America’s pastors, two years ago after Supreme Court rulings that overturned key sections of the federal Defense of Marriage Act and opened the door for same-sex couples in California to get legally married.  In that broadcast, Brown told Christians not to get upset about “gloating” from gay-rights activists, but to pity them because God will “have the last word.”

Right-Wing Pundits: Gay Marriage Leads To Collapse, Terrorist Attacks And Hellfire

Religious Right activists aren’t holding back in their response to the Supreme Court’s decision on same-sex marriage, with more conservative pundits giving voice to their predictions that the U.S. will now face God’s wrath.

Pastor Scott Lively urged Americans to get ready for divine punishment:

In response to the ruling, Mr. Obama called it an example of “justice that arrives like a thunderbolt.” That phrase turns logic and morality on its head as it relates to official government endorsement of sexual perversion. But I suspect it will eventually, perhaps very soon, be recognized in retrospect as an unwitting prophecy about God’s punishment on America for what she has just done.

I just received an email from my ex-‘gay’ friend Greg Quinlan informing me that today’s “gay marriage” ruling happens to fall on the anniversary of the fall of Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Judah in 586BC to Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzer: the ninth day of the fourth month of the Hebrew calendar.

Christian Post columnist Michael Bresciani told readers that God showed him a vision of attacks, economic collapse, natural disasters and crop failures:

I am convinced that this is the beginning of the end for America, and the vision or message will begin very shortly.

What is that vision?

I saw an economic crash much more serious than the stock market crash of 29. It will produce poverty and deep scarcity across our land, the likes of which has never been seen in our history.

Nothing grabs the attention of the distracted faster than the complete removal of all creature comforts and extravagant wealth.

Crops will fail, stores will close and commerce will come almost to a complete stop. It will not be pretty. Add to that, attacks from our enemies and natural disasters rising to meet the pride of the sinners’ right where it hurts the most.

Lee Duigon of the Chalcedon Foundation said the “antichrists” celebrating the court’s decision, which he said will destroy freedom, will go to Hell:

Yesterday was the most shameful day in U.S. history, and America will never live it down.

Abortion did not require a radical makeover of our society, to be made to stick; but mock marriage will not endure unless its proponents can successfully criminalize Christianity, subvert and disable the church, and make mincemeat of our First Amendment.

The nadir, of course, was their ordering all the monuments in Washington lit up with rainbow floodlights–the rainbow, remember, was originally a sign from God–to celebrate active defiance of the word of God. But these antichrists specialize in taking God’s name in vain.

Every one of those persons who celebrated has put his or her soul in danger of damnation. This is open rebellion against God; it will not stand, nor will it prosper.

World Congress of Families spokesman Don Feder compared the court’s ruling to a recent terrorist attack in France:

In France, terrorists left a severed head at the site of an attack on a chemical plant. On Friday, the Supreme Court beheaded its own hostages – the Constitution and Judeo-Christian morality.

The Court’s edict in Obergefell v. Hodges will be used to further the persecution of believers whose conscience will not allow them to go along with the travesty. The “gay marriage” drive has always been about punishing dissidents. That’s why Christian businesses are specifically targeted.

But it’s not the culmination of the revolution. As Antonio Gramsci, the father of Cultural Marxism, wrote in his “Prison Notebooks,” the final stage is the abolition of the family and the church.

Accuracy in Media’s Cliff Kincaid believes that as a result of this ruling, which he likened to Pearl Harbor, America will no longer “be able to defend itself against its foreign adversaries and enemies.”

In fact, as the Scalia dissent notes, this decision will live in infamy. It is as if a Pearl Harbor-type attack has been achieved on America’s moral fabric and constitutional foundations.

A country that descends to the bottom of the barrel morally and culturally will not be able to defend itself against its foreign adversaries and enemies. Indeed, we have the evidence all around us that, as the culture has degenerated, our ability to defend ourselves has simultaneously been weakened. The recent Pentagon gay pride event featured a male General introducing his husband, as a transgender Pentagon civilian employee looked on.

Mark Creech of the Christian Action League said that the court’s ruling will bring an end to opposite-sex marriage and America itself, adding that the decision represents “the same kind of tyranny fought against by the American Revolutionaries.”

It is not just religious people who believe in the traditional view of marriage who should be disquieted, but every American concerned about the advent of lawlessness in our culture. In essence, this decision greatly destroys trust in the Judiciary. Two Justices who have been outspoken public activists for gay marriage did not recuse themselves before the High Court. This not only places their participation in violation of the Rules of the Court, but also brings their partiality into question. When Supreme Court Justices essentially shut down the political process on a matter of such fundamental import, when they overrule the will of the people, when they ignore the proper court procedure and set themselves up as the final authority, what is that but the same kind of tyranny fought against by the American Revolutionaries?

It is not likely fire and brimstone will fall on America immediately because of this decision, although God would certainly be justified in doing it. Nevertheless, this national sin is more apt to bring its own punishments overtime. Although many will think it hyperbolic to say, the state sanctioning of gay marriage will eventually destroy traditional marriage. Real marriage (natural) and anti-marriage (same-sex) cannot coexist any more than can matter and anti-matter. Children will suffer from marriage being redefined as a genderless institution that purposely renders either a mother or a father as obsolete to child rearing. Homosexuality will be taught in public sex-education curriculums as normal. It will further stress our Healthcare and Social Security systems by adding hundreds of thousands of new dependents. These issues, plus the constitutional crisis and threat to the democratic process this decision ushers in, may prove to be too much and result in a national collapse beneath the weight of our own sin.

Militia Group Teams Up With 'Stone Homos' Pastor To Heal America's Racial Divide

We’ve seen plenty of strange bedfellows, but frankly this one has us stumped. Oath Keepers – the anti-government militia group whose leader, Stewart Rhodes, wants to hang John McCain for treason — is joining James David Manning, the Harlem pastor famous for declaring that “Jesus would stone homos” and warning that Starbucks flavors its coffee with “semen from sodomites,” at a 4th of July event at the Gettysburg battlefield that will apparently help to heal America’s racial wounds.

We can’t wait to see how this goes.

Huckabee Urges Governors To Defy Supreme Court Marriage Ruling, Says Marriage Equality Violates The First Amendment

Mike Huckabee, who vows to block the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality if he becomes president, is urging state governors to do the same, telling Iowa talk radio host Jan Mickelson on Friday that if he were still the governor of Arkansas he would “respect” the court’s decision but would not “implement” it.

He urged governors to order county clerks to refuse to issue marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples “until such time as the people have spoken and affirmed the court’s decision.”

He added that “this is a defining moment for people in public office”: “We’re going to find out how many of them really believe in the balance of powers and the separation of powers and how many just decided they’re going to wave the white flag of surrender.”

Huckabee went on to tell Mickelson that the Supreme Court’s marriage decision actually violates the First Amendment by telling marriage equality opponents that “you can’t believe that anymore and put it in practice.”

“This is going to be about religious liberty, it’s not going to be about same-sex marriage,” he said. “A lot of people will try to make it about same-sex marriage, but it’s a bigger issue because, Jan, if the Supreme Court can tell people what the limitations of their beliefs and practices are, then the Supreme Court has just now decided that it can govern all of our liberties.”

Huckabee also argued that “it’s only a matter of time and not long away” before the court legalized polygamy, for which he said a “stronger case” can be made than same-sex marriage:

James Dobson: Children Of Gay Parents 'Are The Real Victims Of The Court's Ruling'

Focus on the Family founder James Dobson is reeling from the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down state bans on same-sex marriage, telling right-wing radio host Joe Miller last week that the ruling represents an “assault” on American values of freedom and liberty.

Dobson also claimed that pastors must prepare for prison, conceding that the “avalanche” of gay rights may be unstoppable:

He similarly warned in a Friday column that “judgment will befall this once great nation” as a result of the court’s ruling.

Warning that “this radical decree will have a devastating affect [sic] on every dimension of culture,” Dobson said that children “barely out of babyhood are already being introduced in some schools to perverse adult behavior.”

Even worse, Dobson writes, “many more vulnerable kids will grow up in homes with same-sex parents.” “They are the real victims of the Court’s ruling,” he said.

Even though Friday’s re-definition of marriage by the U. S. Supreme Court was anticipated, I have found myself grieving over its implications for my country and for Western civilization itself. This radical decree will have a devastating affect [sic] on every dimension of culture.

I grieve most for what it will do to our children, our grandchildren and future generations. They will be taught that right is wrong and wrong is right, and that the teachings of Scripture are unreliable and inaccurate. How outrageous it is that boys and girls barely out of babyhood are already being introduced in some schools to perverse adult behavior.

Soon, public school textbooks throughout the country will be re-written and re-illustrated to conform to today’s ruling. It matters not that these revisions will contradict the beliefs and convictions of their parents. It will soon become the law of the land.

Many more vulnerable kids will grow up in homes with same-sex parents, obviously lacking either masculine or feminine role models. They are the real victims of the Court’s ruling.

Adults will suffer, too. I believe a barrage of court cases has already been planned against those who hold to politically incorrect views of marriage. Many of us will be dragged into court to be prosecuted or subjected to civil judgments. Some will lose their jobs, while others forfeit their businesses. Some will be persecuted and ridiculed and fined. Some may go to prison as the years unfold. Since same-sex marriage has now been determined to be a universal human right by the highest court in the land, it will trump religious liberty, churches, seminaries, Christian schools, businesses and a host of individual liberties. I also fear that judgment will befall this once great nation.

Speaking now for our organization, Family Talk, I believe it is time for this nation to hold State Constitutional Conventions, which would allow certain provisions within the Constitution to be reaffirmed. Among these possibilities would be a provision to set term limits on judges and justices. Another clause would limit the scope of their power. Unelected, unaccountable judges would no longer override the other two co-equal branches of government. Finally, language would be inserted to restore what Abraham Lincoln referred to in his Gettysburg Address as government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Wouldn’t that be a novel idea in the 21st century?

Linda Harvey Backs Laws Criminalizing Gays, Complains Gays Want To Criminalize Christianity

Barbwire, Matt Barber’s far-right “news” feed, is promoting a plea by right-wing radio host Linda Harvey for Religious Right activists to stand with Caribbean conservatives who want to preserve anti-gay laws in the region. Harvey is promoting a petition from the Jamaica Coalition for a Health Society, which declares that Caribbean societies are “under attack” from gay rights supporters. It accuses the Obama administration and international human rights activists of pressuring governments “to accept a re-interpretation of human rights that will undermine true fundamental human rights and the institutions of marriage and the family.”

The petition reads, in part,

Caribbean peoples dearly treasure freedoms that our forefathers valiantly fought and died for. We, their descendants must routinely and soundly reject new forms of cultural, political, economic and social imperialism. Please join us, as other members of the Caribbean community and as allies from around the world, to preserve healthy societies across the region!

It is popular among anti-gay leaders to portray resistance to LGBT human rights as resistance to colonialism and cultural imperialism. But in reality the Jamaican law criminalizing sodomy is a relic of actual imperialism, a holdover from the colonial era. And the Jamaica Coalition for a Health Society that is fighting to preserve the colonial-era “Buggery Law” has been more than happy to import anti-gay Americans like Peter LaBarbera, Mat Staver, Judith Reisman, and Brian Camenker to help their cause. They are part of a broader effort to globalize homophobia and undermine the U.S. government’s advocacy for LGBT human rights internationally.

Harvey recently complained that laws designed to protect LGBT people from employment on the job are really “anti-Christian gag orders” whose goal is to “criminalize speech and Christian faith.” The suggestion that gay-rights advocates are out to “criminalize” Christianity is a ridiculous refrain, but one we hear often from the Religious Right.

In contrast, laws that turn gay people into criminals, laws with devastating impacts on people’s lives, are all too real. The Right’s historic and current backing for those laws is a shameful reminder that their “live and let live” language is nothing more than deceptive rhetoric meant to distract attention from their anti-gay and anti-equality extremism.

'Satan Popping Bottles': Anti-Gay Activists Predict War And Terrorist Attacks As Punishment For Marriage Decision

Opponents of marriage equality have continued their absolute meltdown in wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality.

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who has urged the state to flout the ruling, told one church that Christians will now face massive persecution, suggesting that he is breaking the law by speaking against the ruling. “Sodomy for centuries was declared against the laws of nature and Nature’s God. And now if you say that in public, and I guess I have, am I violating somebody’s civil rights?” Moore asked. “What are Christians to do? Where do we go? Are we exiles in our own country?”

Matt Barber, who had previously called for an anti-gay “revolution,” said that Satan and his minions are roundly celebrating the decision, since, after all, “Friday’s ruling comes straight from the pit of Hell”:

Satan is laughing himself silly right now. His demonic minions, both above and below, are popping the bubbly and clinking the champagne flutes.

Evil has triumphed.

For now at least.

But not in the end.

Because God will not be mocked.

And victory is His.

As many of us have long warned, all this “gay marriage” nonsense was never about “marriage equality.” It was, and remains, a spiritual battle camouflaged in the formal attire of judicial and public policy wrangling. It was always about forcing Christ’s faithful followers, under penalty of law, to abandon biblical truth and embrace sexual sin. The goal of “LGBT” activists and secular progressives has long been to pit the government directly against the free exercise of religion – Christianity in particular – and to silence all dissent.

Even so, let us not don our rose-colored glasses. Friday’s ruling comes straight from the pit of Hell. Even with its religious liberty “silver lining,” it has not ended the debate; it has only just launched it. It has opened the floodgates to anti-Christian persecution. Leftist lawsuit abuse against Christian individuals and organizations will now flow hot like the River Styx.

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah likened the decision to the abolition of slavery…but in a bad way, saying that it might spark a civil war. Farah is the same Religious Right writer who wanted states to secede from the union over gay marriage.

Since the court sided with “the enemies of God,” Farah writes, the U.S. could now face terrorist attacks, economic ruin or “more civil and racial strife.”

My prediction? It’s now open season on people of faith – Christians, Jews, anyone who holds marriage to be a sacred institution.

If the abolition of slavery caused a rupture in the American union, what will be the effect of abolishing marriage as it has been known for 6,000 years of human history?

We are living in perilous times.

As a Christian, I also believe we will be hearing from the author of marriage soon.

I don’t know what form that message will come, but it is certain to be heard sooner rather than later.

America’s elite leadership have taken the side of the enemies of God, and He will take notice.

It could come in the form of an economic crash. It could come in more civil and racial strife along the lines of what has been building in recent years. It could come in the form of an attack on our country from foreign power or terrorist group.

I suspect it will something big. I take no comfort in passing along this warning. It’s just the pattern that God uses to bring His people to repentance for their own good.

Conservative legal activist Larry Klayman wondered if the marriage ruling, along with the decision to uphold Obamacare’s subsidies for insurance plans, is a “harbinger to revolution.”

In the last few days we have seen the serious consequences of this dangerous state of affairs on the Supreme Court. Rather than serving as a check to the tyranny of Obama and his Democratic minions or the Republican cowards of the legislative branch, the Court, thanks in large part to the chief justice, has rubber-stamped this tyranny by rewriting Obamacare and taking away from the states their constitutional right under the 10th Amendment to decide whether to grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

So the big question is this: Did the NSA and/or the CIA, working in concert with their Supreme Leader Obama, blackmail Roberts into submission?

Even the potential for this to happen, given the unconstitutional surveillance of the spy agencies on nearly all Americans, underscores why the nation is again on the verge of revolution. If evil despots have compromised even our Supreme Court, the ultimate protector and “decider” of our rights, then what choice is left to us? John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin certainly know, from their own experience with King George, and from their graves they see what now again lies ahead and what must be done to restore freedom to our shores.

Mat Staver Calls On Christians To Face Potential Gay-Marriage Martyrdom Like Daniel & Esther

In an interview with an Alabama Christian radio station on the day of the arguments in the Supreme Court marriage cases in April, Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver warned that although “we have faced in Judeo-Christian history more dire times than this,” marriage equality opponents should be prepared to face martyrdom at the hands of an unjust government just like Daniel and Esther were in the Old Testament.

In anticipation of a decision striking down gay marriage bans, Staver said, “we must ask for God’s intervention, God’s grace, God’s forgiveness and God’s miraculous turn of events.”

If not, he said, marriage equality opponents should be prepared to emulate Daniel, who was thrown into a lion’s den, and Esther, who risked her life to save the Jews of Persia from execution.

“We may have to stand like that,” he said. “We may have to stand like people of old, like Martin Luther King, Jr., did when he faced unjust laws. And we have to be prepared to face the consequences. But one thing we cannot do, one thing we will not do because we cannot do it, we cannot betray our Lord, we cannot deny reality, we cannot disobey the scripture and the teachings of the church, that’s a line we cannot cross.”

'We Need An Emancipation Proclamation' To Free Us 'From The Tyranny Of Sodomy'

“No more rainbow flags, America!” declares anti-LGBT activist Linda Harvey, who offers up an unhinged rant in BarbWire today about why Americans should take down the LGBT rainbow flag along with the Confederate battle flag.

Harvey, the head of the far-right group Mission America, writes that homosexuality is just as “evil” as slavery, adding that “‘LGBT’ lifestyles will ultimately be revealed to be a destructive blight on our nation.” Similarly, according to Harvey, the LGBT rainbow flag is just as offensive as the Confederate flag since the Pride flag’s “hateful colors” push “depravity” and “bigotry.”

“If only we had that kind of leadership now in Washington as we had in Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, who delivered the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863,” Harvey continues. “We need an Emancipation Proclamation now to free America from the tyranny of sodomy.”

Radio host Bryan Fischer also demanded that the LGBT Pride flag come down with the stars-and-bars.

Recognizing that slavery is an inhumane act of discrimination, and that the confederate flag may serve as a painful symbol of that tragic era of American history, our leaders should also admit that the promotion of homosexuality is creating a major rift in the fabric of our nation.

We are seeing an unjustified war against the 51 million Americans who voted for man/woman marriage on state ballots. But the reality of marriage remains as elemental as the rising of the sun each day.

Same sex relationships will never be marriage, regardless of what any court decides. The identity and behavior of homosexuality can never be the basis of an authentic union between two people.

Still, a rebel flag flies on some government buildings and some of our embassies as a symbol of hatred. Sexual morality and authentic marriage are despised by those who wave the rainbow flag, which is even waved in front of schoolchildren as an illegitimate banner of “civil rights,” although it’s the opposite. It’s the logo of a war being waged against virtue, against the reality of male/female biology and against the witness of Jesus Christ.

It’s time to lower the rainbow flag everywhere. God created the rainbow as a sign of hope (Genesis 9:12-17). But homosexual political operatives have captured this symbol as an unauthorized expression of “pride.” Well, rainbows accompanying this depravity are as unfitting as the term “gay,” and it’s time for Christians to demand recognition of the offense involved and a permanent retraction.

Proud homosexuals don’t love God. They take pride in disobedience. Therefore, these rebels have no right to the rainbow, period.

So, let’s demand that no more rainbow flags fly above our federal agencies. No more hateful colors on our embassies, or on the Pentagon website. And it’s time for retailers with a conscience to stop selling rainbow- adorned “gay” merchandise and show respect and sensitivity to the outcry of concerned families and parents.

If the confederate flag truly causes pain to some black Americans, well, understood. Where’s the understanding for Christian Americans who are victims of the newly empowered bigotry of “gay” activists? The lost jobs, the closed businesses, the ruined reputations, the children corrupted? It’s the beginning of sorrows and won’t end unless those with a conscience intervene.

If only we had that kind of leadership now in Washington as we had in Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, who delivered the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.

We need an Emancipation Proclamation now to free America from the tyranny of sodomy.

I visited Gettysburg recently and was reminded once more about how evil can become natural in a country, and even be quite comfortably accommodated– except, of course, for those whose safety and freedom are in jeopardy.

Slavery was and is (since it is still a practiced in some parts of the world) a reprehensible practice. It became a natural thread in the fabric of our southern culture, just as “pride” parades are becoming big business for most major cities in America, just as corporations are allowing “gay” employees to have favored status while faithful Christians are silenced and demeaned, demoted and dismissed.

But when the truth comes out, “LGBT” lifestyles will ultimately be revealed to be a destructive blight on our nation, and if our president won’t lead and stand up for virtue, other Americans must stand in the gap and do so.

Homosexuality needs to be seen for what it is: a grave sin, a depraved lifestyle, and an oppressive threat to truth, liberty, family and faith.

And so, the theft of the rainbow needs to be confronted and it needs to end. No more rainbow flags, America!

Huckabee: If Supreme Court Strikes Down Gay Marriage Bans, 'Everything Falls Away'

GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told Iowa-based talk radio host Simon Conway yesterday that if the Supreme Court strikes down bans on same-sex marriage, “religious liberty in this country will radically change and it will never be the same again” and consequently all other liberties will fall away.

“The issue, for example, in marriage is really an issue about religious liberty,” he said. “That’s what the fundamental underlying issue, when the government can tell me how much I can believe, if it can restrict my faith and restrict my belief by putting a boot on religious liberty. Religious liberty is the heart of all freedoms, so if the government tells me what I can believe, they can tell me what I can say, what I can do, where I can go, with whom I can associate, they can restrict how much privacy I have. Everything falls away when the government takes away religious liberty.”

Laughably claiming that marriage equality isn’t “an issue that I’ve put front and center” but that the Supreme Court has forced him to talk about it, Huckabee insisted that the marriage case isn’t “about just having people who want to love each other.”

“No, this is not an expansion of marriage, this is a redefinition,” he said. “And when it changes, religious liberty in this country will radically change and it will never be the same again.”

Huckabee, who has vowed to block a pro-marriage-equality decision from the court if he becomes president, added, “By the way, I don’t think the Supreme Court can make a decision about same-sex marriage because they can no more suspend the law of nature than they can the law of gravity.” Such a decision, he said, would not be “the law of the land.”

“Judicial supremacy leads to judicial tyranny, and that’s where we’re headed,” he said.

Phyllis Schlafly is none too pleased with the Supreme Court’s decision striking down state gay marriage bans, and has a modest proposal for Congress: Pass a resolution affirming the “dignity of opposite-sex married couples,” especially that of couples where “a provider-husband is the principal breadwinner and his wife is dedicated to the job of homemaker.” While this resolution might not change much in the short term, the anti-feminist crusader writes in her syndicated column today, it might act as an inspiration to the anti-gay movement as they continue to fight... Lutzer argued that with the rise of gay rights, children are “being indoctrinated in ways” equivalent to “Russia of years ago.” Because of this, “parents need to take that... MORE
