Land: Obama Promoting 'Extreme Gay Rights' Abroad

U.S. Religious Right leaders have not been happy with President Obama’s criticism of Kenya’s criminal prohibition on homosexuality during his visit to the country last week, with Franklin Graham accusing the president of “exporting the acceptance of immorality” and Bryan Fischer deeming the president “rude.”

In an interview with Newsmax TV on Monday, former Southern Baptist Convention policy head Richard Land, agreed with Graham’s comments, accusing the president of promoting “extreme gay rights” by speaking out against Kenya’s law, which punishes homosexuality by up to 14 years in prison.

Land also accused the administration of "trying to blackmail governments overseas” to lift anti-LGBT restrictions.

Fischer: Obama 'Rude' To Criticize Laws Criminalizing Homosexuality

On Friday, Bryan Fischer blasted President Obama ahead of his trip to Kenya over reports that Obama would use the trip as an opportunity to criticize the country's laws that make homosexuality a crime punishable by up to 14 years imprisonment. Over the weekend, Obama did exactly that, but his criticism was promptly dismissed by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, and now Fischer is outraged that Obama was so "rude" and is heaping praise upon African nations that maintain harsh anti-gay laws.

African leaders, Fischer said on his radio program today, know that "there is something abnormal, there is something immoral, there is something unhealthy, there is something unnatural about homosexual behavior" because the continent has been ravaged by AIDS.

"These political leaders know what homosexual behavior does," he said, and they "want something better for the African people than what homosexual conduct give them."

These leaders do not need someone like Obama lecturing them, Fischer continued, because they "are more enlightened" than the United State on this issue.

"We are smart enough, we are bright enough, we are intelligent enough, we are sane enough to make this kind of behavior contrary to public policy," Fischer said, as he approvingly laid out what he believes the correct African position on this issue to be. "We're not going to embrace it, we're not going to promote it, we're not even going to make it legal."

Nevertheless, President Obama went to Kenya and criticized laws criminalizing homosexuality which, Fischer said, "in my mind just makes him rude."

Conservative Columnist: Gay Rights A Communist Plot To Destroy Western Civilization

WorldNetDaily columnist Lord Christopher Monckton is not pleased that President Obama stood up for LGBT rights in Kenya, a country where homosexuality is a crime punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

Monckton claimed in a column yesterday that the president’s support for LGBT rights is part of his communist agenda, alleging that communists have been working within the U.S. for nearly 100 years to “promote ‘gay rights’ as a way of undermining and destroying the family" with the hope that “destroying the family would destroy the hated West.”

Monckton also managed to bring up his own personal birther conspiracy theory, insisting that Obama “traveled from Kenya to Hawaii with his American mother within days of his birth in a village near Mombasa in August 1964.”

In Kenya, as in most of Africa, the biggest killer is infectious disease. Accordingly, those who willfully indulge in activities known to be likely to spread disease are heavily punished. Homosexuality is well established in the medico-scientific literature as being a particularly efficient vector of various sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.

For this very good reason, African political culture has always been strongly opposed to homosexuality, which carries a 14-year prison sentence in Kenya.

Embarrassingly, Mr. Obama chose a joint press conference with Mr Kenyatta to issue one of his whinnyingly pietistic Communism-101 lectures.

Even in the West, the average practicing homosexual is more likely to die before his time than a smoker. But in Africa, where all manner of infectious diseases are far more prevalent than in the West because public-health measures are largely non-existent, homosexuality is still more dangerous to the population. It is precisely because homosexuality does harm to people that it is firmly discouraged, and not just in Kenya.

The totalitarian left is eager enough to blame smoking on evil capitalist tobacco companies and to bully both smokers and those who supply them with their poison. However, the U.S. Communist Party in the 1920s, while publicly opposing homosexuality, was privately recommending to its cadres that they should promote “gay rights” as a way of undermining and destroying the family life that was at that time America’s greatest strength.

Ever since then, the hard left has been relentless in advancing the cause of so-called “gays.” There was never any electoral advantage in this, for “gays” represent perhaps 0.5 percent of the population – a numerically insignificant fraction. The advantage was purely political: Destroying the family would destroy the hated West.

Though the tone was a fine instance of the relentless diplomatic politesse that is a notable hallmark of Kenya’s present president, his remarks were a decisive slap in the face for the bleating Mr. Obama, who traveled from Kenya to Hawaii with his American mother within days of his birth in a village near Mombasa in August 1964.

Rohrer: Russia Is Now 'The Moral Leader Of The World' For Cracking Down On Homosexuality

Sam Rohrer of the American Pastors Network once again appeared on The Dove TV yesterday to warn that the United States has forfeited its role as the leading moral voice in the world because of the Obama administration's record of speaking out against draconian anti-gay laws in other nations, declaring that Russia under Vladimir Putin is now the "moral leader of the world."

"The moral position leadership of our country has been forfeited," the former Pennsylvania Republican legislator said. "Our administration is trying to tie together foreign aid into countries in Africa that have actually passed laws against homosexuality and in favor of traditional marriage. They're trying to use and force these countries to actually embrace same-sex marriage. Our country, this nation is probably doing more to advance the face of same-sex marriage than anything else."

"I look over to Russia, Putin, the Russian Orthodox Church has now lifted themselves up as the moral leader of the world," Rohrer continued. "Believe it or not, Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church [are] the protectors of moral truth. The West and the United States have become the leaders of moral depravity."

"To now see that we have become, not a shining city on a hill, but a purveyor of evil" is an incredible thing, Rohrer said.

Rohrer appears to be so elated by Russia's crackdown on gays that he doesn’t seem to mind the regime's crackdown on evangelicals.

Shoebat: Gays Must Be Put To Death Before Turning Boy Scouts 'Into A Nazi-Like Gay Youth Club'

As we noted earlier this month, the fact that Theodore Shoebat consistently calls for gays to be put to death has not prevented him from regularly being interviewed on Religious Right news programs or appearing in an anti-gay film alongside several Republican lawmakers and presidential candidates.

Today, he posted a new column warning that the proposal by the Boy Scouts of America to lift the ban on gay scout masters is all part of an effort to "transform the Scouts into a Nazi-like gay youth club" that will be used to attack Christianity .... and that is why "there is only one solution to the homosexual agenda, and that is death":

The Boy Scouts are expected to be accepting openly adult homosexual leaders, and this most dangerous move will only further enable these sodomites to rape and sexually molest young boys and male youths ...  You will have sodomite Scout leaders with young men, 15 or 16 years old, what do you think is going to be occurring in those sodomites’ minds? Evil, filthy, unnatural lusts, lusts that will eventually be carried out, with the Scout leader sodomizing his innocent victims ... Mark my words, when the decision to accept openly homosexual Scout leaders is made, expect the homosexuals to sodomize and rape young boys and male youths. Expect them to groom young boys and recruit them into the homosexual cause, as they have been doing for so many years now.

...

The sodomites molest children and teenagers, and groom them, and from such you have an army of advocates wanting the whole world to be molested.

But will you do anything about it? I doubt it.

Haven’t you people learned from the Holy Scriptures? Do not the sublime words of the prophets and the Apostles warn us and tell us? Does not the Scriptures tell us about how the people of Sodom wanted to rape the angels; does not the Scriptures tell us of the evil Benjaminites who wanted to rape the men in the house (Judges 19); does not the Apostle Paul tell us in Romans that the homosexuals are full of murder and are “inventors of evil things” (Romans 1:30)

We have ignored these words. For if we didn’t, we would know that the sodomites are constantly contriving all sorts of evils. If they want to enter the Boy Scouts, its for evil; if they want to enter the military, its for evil; if they want to enter the schools, its for evil; sports, its for evil; the Church, its for evil.

I believe that the reason why the homosexuals want to enter the Boy Scouts is because they want to recruit young boys, and transform the Scouts into a Nazi-like gay youth club; young brainwashed children who can be used as soldiers against Christianity.

This is why I say that there is only one solution to the homosexual agenda, and that is death. What does the Scriptures say? “ If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” (Leviticus 20:13)

Yet this most erudite law is ignored, hated, or treated with contempt by modern Christians.

Ted Cruz's Hearing on Supreme Court's Marriage Equality 'Tyranny'

Senator and presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has repeatedly called recent Supreme Court decisions on marriage and health care reform “tyranny.” On Wednesday, he used his platform as chair of the Senate’s Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts to hold a hearing on “Supreme Court activism” in which he said that the marriage equality ruling was “the very definition of tyranny” and that “Justice Kennedy’s pop psychology has no basis in the text and history of the Constitution.”

Among the witnesses Cruz called was John Eastman, chair of the National Organization for Marriage. Eastman said a simple majority of states should be allowed to override Supreme Court decisions. (While we’re talking about “tyranny,” let’s not forget that Eastman recently defended Uganda’s notorious Anti-Homosexuality Act and hoped for its swift reinstatement.)

Cruz is far from the only right-winger crying “tyranny” over the prospect of gay couples getting married. We have seen right-wing activists and politicians denounce the marriage equality ruling in the most apocalyptic terms, and charge that it will bring unprecedented religious persecution to the U.S. Right-wing Catholic Hugh Brown of the American Life League even said that Justice Kennedy had “betrayed” Jesus. Another, Michael Hichborn of the right-wing Catholic Lepanto Institute, said Kennedy should be excommunicated.

Some have been calling for states to resist or ignore the ruling (Liberty Counsel is defending county clerks who refuse to do their jobs), or negate it with a “creative” law. Some are focused on passing laws to allow government officials and business owners to discriminate against same-sex couples – like the proposed federal First Amendment Defense Act. Some are calling for constitutional amendments to overturn the marriage ruling. And some are looking at the 2016 presidential election as an opportunity to pack the Court with far-right justices.

Cruz has called for a constitutional amendment that would require justices to face retention elections, and has said he would also support term limits on justices, an idea promoted by fellow presidential contender Mike Huckabee.

Croatian LGBT Group Fined For Calling Journalist & Judith Reisman Ally A Homophobe

Many Religious Right leaders have thrown their support behind anti-gay laws around the world that not only criminalize gay sex but also limit free speech by making even the advocacy of LGBT equality illegal. Another tactic is to limit the free speech of equality advocates by restricting public criticism of their opponents.

In Croatia, a county court has upheld a ruling of the Zagreb Municipal Court that Zagreb Pride, an LGBT rights group, had violated the personal honor and dignity of a journalist by placing her on its annual list of candidates for “homophobe of the year” in 2013. The Court ruled that Zagreb Pride must pay more than 41,000 krona (a bit over $6,000) in fines and court fees. Zagreb Pride officials contend this case is an outgrowth of an organized campaign by conservative Catholic groups and their allies that led to a 2013 referendum banning marriage by same-sex couples.

The journalist, Karolina Vidović-Krišto, had been placed on the list after producing a television segment in December 2012 which used the research of American anti-gay activist Judith Reisman, who is affiliated with Liberty University, to criticize sex-education curricula. When Vidović-Krišto was suspended by state television after the show, Reisman rallied to her defense, and the journalist was reportedly among those who helped organize Reisman’s 2013 trip to Croatia. Reisman also visited in 2014.

As reported by the Croatia-based Center for Education, Counseling and Research (CESI), Reisman was brought to Croatia for a series of public appearances by Stjepo Bartulica, a member of the Catholic order Opus Dei and a Commissioner for Religious Communities in the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia.

Reisman’s record of anti-gay commentary is long and well-documented. For example, Reisman has:

  • said that sex ed turns children into prostitutes and “little sexual deviants”;
  • said that sex education classes are designed to brainwash children into thinking they might be gay, transgender or “all kinds of other things” and “these kids become fodder for adult predators, that’s exactly what they become”;
  • appeared in an anti-gay “documentary” called “Light Wins,” in which she argues that parents should sue teachers and school administrators who allow students to read gay novels, which she says violates a federal law that makes it illegal to “groom children for sex”;
  • said Gay-Straight Alliance clubs and anti-bullying campaigns are modeled on Hitler Youth efforts to “sever schoolchildren from their parents’ religious and sexual training”;
  • called GLSEN “a modern version of the Hitler Youth” and said that “the whole point” of GLSEN’s anti-bullying efforts was to promote pedophilia;
  • claimed that “the aim of homosexual males and now increasingly females is not to have sex with other old guys and get married but to obtain sex with as many boys as possible”;
  • joined her Liberty colleague Mat Staver in Jamaica in December for a conference organized by those working to preserve laws criminalizing consensual gay sex;
  • wrote that condoms are not meant for anal sex and called for a “class action lawsuit by AIDS victims and their loved ones” against the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Planned Parenthood and teachers and school systems that promoted condom use;
  • and  warned that the Boy Scouts’ vote to end the ban on participation by gay youth would lead to increased pedophilia, and agreed with right-wing radio host Rick Wiles that the Boy Scouts change was about “getting sexual predators into the Boy Scouts.”

Reisman also believes that pornography should be outlawed.

Not surprisingly, Reisman’s visit to Croatia was controversial and was criticized by some scientists as well as activists. Reisman faced a number of outspoken critics, whom she denounced as “thugs.” She spoke to parliamentarians and to college students, by whom she was not well received ; when she responded to critical questions by charging that students had been indoctrinated by communists, the school’s dean asked whether she realized how young these students were. He also challenged her credentials to speak about brain chemistry in regard to her promotion of an “erototoxin” theory that pornography leads to “mating confusion.”

Zagreb Pride officials, who say that challenging anti-gay rhetoric and actions are central to their reason for being, are calling the recent ruling an attack on free expression. The Croatian Journalists Association hosted a Zagreb Pride press conference last week.

"The Constitution guarantees us the freedom of speech, and Zagreb Pride's mission is to publicly reveal homophobia, so our basic duty is to react every time we see someone acting against homosexuals," Zagreb Pride representative Marko Jurcic told a news conference in the offices of the Croatian Journalists Association, calling on citizens to support the association and freedom of expression.

Another report from the press conference quotes Jurcic calling for solidarity from citizens in support of free speech and human rights. Also speaking were Sandra Benčić from the Center for Peace Studies and Natasa Bijelic from CESI, who put the case in the larger context of the growing neo-conservative threats to sexual and reproductive rights in Europe.

Zagreb Pride leaders have vowed to challenge the decision to the Constitutional Court as a matter of freedom of expression, and to develop a strategy for taking the case to the European Court of Human Rights.

Pat Robertson: Obama Must Listen To 'His Fellow Africans' And Ban Homosexuality

Televangelist Pat Robertson tries to insist that he’s not “some sort of right-wing extremist,” which could only be convincing to someone who has never watched an episode of his daily television show, “The 700 Club.”

Take, for example, today’s program, in which a Christian Broadcasting Network reporter profiled the debate in Kenya over President Obama’s support for LGBT rights and Kenyan Bishop Mark Kariuki’s anti-LGBT efforts. In an interview with CBN, Kariuki called on Kenyan leaders to reaffirm the country’s laws making homosexuality a crime punishable by up to 14 years imprisonment, and urged Obama to reverse his support for LGBT rights before it leads to America’s destruction.

Robertson, who, like Kariuki, believes that LGBT rights will lead to divine wrath against America, said that “those Africans have got it right.”

“One wishes that the president of the United States would listen to some of his fellow Africans, cousins, to what they have to say because they speak truth and they speak wisdom,” he added.

Watch highlights here:

Donald Trump The 'Moral, Principled' Leader for Christian Nation Extremist David Lane?

In the conservative Washington Examiner, Paul Bedard wrote on Tuesday, “Amen corner: Trump makes inroads with social conservatives, evangelicals.”

Donald Trump's surge into the lead of the Republican presidential primary can be credited partly to two groups he has rarely engaged: social conservatives and evangelical Christians.

"Trump is tapping into deep-seated anger in America, a nation founded by Christians 'for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith,'" said David Lane, a prominent national evangelical political organizer. "He's tapping into something at the grassroots, precinct level of America. America is starving for moral, principled leadership. I hope that Donald Trump brings that."

Seriously? David Lane, as regular RWW readers know, is an anti-gay “Christian-nation” political operative who organizes meet-and-greet events and international trips that bring conservative evangelical pastors together with Republican politicians. The oft-married, self-worshipping Trump seems an odd fit for the man who wants to make the Bible the primary textbook in public schools and thinks the purpose of the U.S. government is to advance the Christian faith.

Evangelicals have flirted with Trump before. Recall Trump’s 2012 appearance at Liberty University, where he delivered a speech that Kyle described on RWW as “a typically self-aggrandizing and buffoonish message that was superficially about the importance of God and his Christian but was really about self-promotion and the importance of always getting even with your enemies.”

An unnamed “leader in the social conservative movement” reportedly told Bedard that Trump’s bluster about restoring “order” on the Mexican border has “wowed” voters who are disgusted with Washington.

But other evangelicals were not too happy about Trump’s weekend appearance in Iowa. Trump’s comments denigrating John McCain’s war service got the most mainstream media attention, but Ed Kilgore noted in Washington Monthly that Trump’s response to questions about his faith from pollster Frank Luntz were hardly the kind that would inspire evangelicals: “Luntz asked The Donald if he had ever asked God for forgiveness, and it was really as though the idea had never occurred to him.”

“If I do something wrong, I try to do something right,” he said. “I don’t bring God into that picture.”

Spoken like an ethical agnostic, right? But perhaps sensing his answer wasn’t adequate, he tried to recover:

“When I drink my little wine — which is about the only wine I drink — and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed,” he said.

Byron York also wrote that Trump’s McCain remarks were not the biggest problem coming out of Iowa, saying that a “senior Iowa Republican” was “dumbfounded” by Trump’s comments on religion.

“While there were audible groans in the crowd when Trump questioned whether McCain was a war hero,” the senior Republican said via email, “it was Trump’s inability to articulate any coherent relationship with God or demonstrate the role faith plays in his life that really sucked the oxygen out of the room.”

Steve Benen notes that Jeb Bush jumped to take advantage of Trump’s remarks, telling a conservative radio host that he, Bush, “regularly” asks God for forgiveness. Rick Perry is also trying to use Trump’s dismissal of the need for God’s forgiveness as a way to get some attention, saying that a man too self-absorbed to seek God’s forgiveness does not belong in the White House. It’s worth noting that Perry informally launched his failed 2012 bid with a political prayer rally organized by David Lane and his dominionist allies, making it hard to take Perry seriously when he warns against “false prophets” and messengers “who appeal to anger, division and resentment.”

Lane’s comments are also out of synch with some of his political allies. Sarah Posner pointed out this week that Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and Samuel Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference said last week that they didn’t know a single evangelical who supports Trump, saying Christians are turned off by Trump’s immigrant-bashing. But it seems that Moore and Rodriguez need to get out among their constituents a bit more — Posner notes that a Washington Post poll showed Trump as the preferred candidate of 20 percent of white evangelicals, with 45 percent of white evangelicals saying Trump is “just about right” on the issues. A recent Public Policy Polling survey [PDF] found that Trump had higher favorability ratings among evangelical Republicans than non-evangelicals in the party.

David Lane’s positive comments about Trump, who is currently sitting at the top of the polls, are probably just another example of Religious Right leaders’ habit of publicly demanding religious and political purity, but then throwing their support to whatever politicians the GOP nominates. (James Dobson perfected this move.)

Lane has said his effort to recruit 1,000 like-minded evangelical pastors to run for office — and in the process get hundreds of thousands of conservative Christian volunteer workers to influence the 2016 elections — was inspired by his own pastor’s failed run for the state assembly. Last month that pastor, Rob McCoy, made it to public office, winning a seat on the city council of Thousand Oaks, California.

Jack Burkman: 'The Homosexual Movement In This Country' Is Fundamentally 'Predatory'

Washington, D.C., lobbyist Jack Burkman is so cartoonishly anti-gay that he once vowed to lead a "relentless" boycott against any NFL team that drafted gay player Michael Sam which, after Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams, never actually materialized.

For some reason, the producers over at Newsmax thought it would be a good idea to get Burkman's thoughts on the proposal by the Boy Scouts to drop its ban on gay scout leaders, so he was invited on to debate the topic on yesterday's "Newsmax Now" program.

Unsurprisingly, Burkman kicked things off by citing the Family Research Council as he claimed that gay men are a thousand times more likely to molest children and asserting that the "homosexual movement" is fundamentally "predatory."

"Homosexuals molest children at a rate from somewhere between 200 to a 1000 percent more than straight people," he said. "To even think, with these facts on the table to allow them into something like the Boy Scouts as scout leaders is absurd."

"The real problem I have with the homosexual movement in this country, and really around the world, is that fundamentally it is predatory," he continued. "When the movement sees a young man that is weak and troubled, they will try to turn him. And what they do is they go after the weak and they say we're going to break apart from your family, your friends, your community, we're going to tear you away, we're going to make you believe the way the Chinese would convince somebody in a prison that you're gay. You're going to believe this. CNN and ABC News are going to aid us, this whole sick culture is is going to aid us and we're going to turn you into a gay person."

Rick Wiles: America Overrun By Gay 'Neo-Nazis' And Homicidal Muslims

End Times radio host Rick Wiles yesterday sounded off on a recently-released photo of a 7-year-old Queen Elizabeth “mimicking her uncle, the future king Edward VIII,” in making the Nazi salute. The “Trunews” host cited the 1933 photo as proof that “the Nazis are in control of the West right now, the United States of America has been taken over by neo-Nazis.”

And who are our Nazi overlords?

“The left, the homosexual rights movement, the abortionists, these are Nazis, they’re Nazis,” he said.

Wiles, who once claimed that Adolf Hitler attempted “to create a race of super gay male soldiers,” also alleged that “the Nazi party of Germany was a militant homosexual movement, we have a resurgence of Nazism.”

Responding to the Chattanooga shooting, Wiles alleged that “millions of Americans will die in one day in this country” after Muslim-Americans, whom he claims only seek “to slaughter the people who do not convert to Islam,” take up arms en masse against non-Muslims in a violent “day of jihad.”

Far-Right Columnist: God Punishing Gay People With 'Rampant Disease'

Conservative columnist Sylvia Thompson warned BarbWire readers last week that gay people “will sorely regret” their “choice” to be gay, suggesting that God is punishing gay people with HIV/AIDS.

“The rampant disease, both medical and mental, permeating the homosexual and other deviant populations is staggering for such a small portion of society,” she said, adding that “it may take something even more drastic than dying in droves to open eyes and hearts.”

Thompson also warned that “satanic,” “tyrannical” and “depraved” gay rights advocates will also target Christians who oppose them: “It does not matter what the consequences may be, even if those consequences are imprisonment or death, or both. In the ultimate end, when God intervenes, the Christian who follows His dictates will be vindicated.”

Whatever the depraved state of homosexual activists and whatever the satanic hold they may have on the legal system in this country, believing Christians must answer to God whenever Caesar runs amok.

It does not matter what the consequences may be, even if those consequences are imprisonment or death, or both. In the ultimate end, when God intervenes, the Christian who follows His dictates will be vindicated. The stubbornly unrepentant will eventually be destroyed, regardless of what weak-willed and apostate professed Christian leaders tell them.

Therefore, a comparison of the civil rights of people who are immutably black to homosexuals who choose their behavior is a bogus comparison. I am certain the homosexual movement is well aware of that fact. Disingenuousness and lying, after all, are its primary hallmarks.

As I have said before, this issue has nothing to do with civil rights. It is all about a small, tyrannical segment of our rotting culture that has foolishly taken issue with Almighty God. They will sorely regret that choice in due time, if they are not already regretting it.

The rampant disease, both medical and mental, permeating the homosexual and other deviant populations is staggering for such a small portion of society. It should be clear evidence that those who embrace deviant sexual sin are way off base. But apparently not; it may take something even more drastic than dying in droves to open eyes and hearts.

World Congress Of Families Feigns Ignorance About Supporting Anti-LGBT Extremism

The World Congress of Families, a project run by a small conservative think tank in Illinois, which links social conservative groups around the world in an effort to promote what it calls the “natural family,” issued a report last week attempting to debunk what it contends are unfair smears about its anti-gay politics.

In particular, WCF has received criticism for its support of a spate of new anti-LGBT laws in Russia, as we outlined in our 2013 “Globalizing Homophobia” report. The group's work around the world has come under additional scrutiny since it began planning its first U.S. conference, scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City in October.

In its new report, WCF contends that it harbors no “animus toward people who choose a gay lifestyle,” and “only takes issue with LGBT activists in their attempts to undermine the natural family by redefining marriage in the law and to ignore or distort the overwhelming social science, psychological, medical, and demographic evidence that the two-parent, mother-and-father family is the optimal unit for social stability and raising children” (italics are theirs).

Yet, in its report, WCF acknowledges and reaffirms its support for laws that go far beyond stopping LGBT rights activists from “redefining marriage.” The report reaffirms the group’s support of a Russian law banning gay “propaganda” to minors:

The truth is WCF supports efforts in Russia, and anywhere else, to protect children from destructive activities and propaganda to engage in drug use, alcohol, pornography, gambling, prostitution and solicitations for “non-traditional sexual relations,” which are dangerous, as shown by statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

WCF then blames anti-gay sentiment in Russia on the LGBT rights movement itself and on the feminist punk band Pussy Riot, whose members were jailed after staging a performance in a cathedral:

As the homosexual activist movement in Russia became more visible and demanding, Russians became more aware that their most deeply held beliefs were under attack. The invasion of cathedrals by self-styled sexual radical groups like Pussy Riot have contributed to the public perception that homosexuality is “morally unacceptable.” A Pew Research survey shows that despite three decades of nonstop homosexual propaganda in the Western media, schools, and the corporate world that has moved public opinion in those nations toward acceptance or non-opposition to homosexuality, people in a large number of nations, including Russia, consider homosexuality immoral.

WCF also defends its role in organizing a letter objecting to the U.S. embassy’s participation in Prague’s Gay Pride parade in 2012 in which it stated, “We can not imagine a worse form of cultural imperialism than Washington trying to force approval of the ‘gay’ agenda on societies with traditional values.”

The group is also disingenuous about its role connecting "pro-family" activists around the world, claiming that it had “nothing to do” with a "large families" conference held in Moscow last year. The conference began as a World Congress of Families event, financially backed by a number of top allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After facing a storm of criticism in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, WCF backed out of its official role in the conference, but little else seems to have changed . In fact, World Congress of Families officials Larry Jacobs and Don Feder, although they said they were there in their personal capacities, were on hand at an opening press conference along with the conference’s major Russian funders.

WCF runs into a similar problem when it disputes the Human Rights Campaign’s report that it “inflamed concerns” in Ukraine that “joining the European Union would force the country to accept marriage equality." WCF claims: "All statements in Ukraine were made by individuals in their personal capacities as experts."

HRC was presumably referring to these statements by WCF’s Don Feder, who introduced himself at a press conference in Kiev as “representing the World Congress of Families.”

WCF also tries to distance itself from Feder, who along with his work with the group has a sideline as far-right columnist, saying that he is merely an "unofficial spokesperson" for the WCF and is no longer the group's communications director.

This speaks to the difficulty of pinning down WCF's position. The group notes that it is very small, but that belies its important role in bringing together a global movement in opposition to reproductive rights and LGBT equality. WCF exists to bring together alliances of social conservatives around the world; it can’t feign ignorance when those alliances end up providing cover for bad policies.

WCF took a similar tone back in 2013 when Sen. Mark Kirk, who had provided them with a room for a press conference on Capitol Hill, withdrew the offer after he learned of the group’s support for anti-LGBT extremism. Provided with a room at the last minute by House Speaker John Boehner, the group’s founder Allan Carlson compared criticism of his work to fascism in the 1920s and 1930s. Speakers then proceeded to heap praise on Russia for its anti-gay crackdown.

Religious Right Pundits Long For The Days When People Were Too Poor To Be Gay

Iowa talk radio host Steve Deace invited Florida Religious Right activist John Stemberger onto his program yesterday to push back against conservatives who are arguing that the government should just get out of marriage altogether after the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision, which Stemberger argues would actually expand government by destroying families and expanding the welfare state.

This is all what liberals want, he told Deace: “The left feeds on broken marriages and broken families. When families are strong, when there’s an economic system there, they start to understand the implications of taxes and all the economic implications of actually work and reward.”

This prompted Deace to share his theory that the sexual revolution was an outgrowth of the welfare state because before the expansion of the social safety net, most people were too poor to “act out immorally” by having “multiple wives” and “gay lovers” since “no one was subsidizing [their] depravity.”

“We have that today, which is why the sexual revolution came after the welfare state, because once it was obvious that people were not going to be held directly accountable for their actions, we removed the inhibitions against human nature that we already had,” he explained.

Stemberger agreed with Deace’s assessment, adding, “People who are hard-working and have to be self-sufficient and are not going to be propped up by the government don’t have the luxury of doing stupid, immoral things.”

BarbWire Pundit: United States Is 'A Spiritual Cesspool' Led By Satan

It’s been over two weeks since former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay announced that he has uncovered a “secret memo” from the Justice Department stating that bestiality and pedophilia will soon be made legal.

DeLay has still not released this supposed DOJ document, which he said will legalize “12 new perversions,” but BarbWire columnist A.J. Castellitto is already treating it as a point of fact.

Castellitto writes today that this “secret memo” that no one has seen (except for DeLay, of course) shows that Satan has now taken over the U.S. as the country has become “a spiritual cesspool.”

“I’m sorry to say this, but it’s over,” he writes. “Satan has control.”

Our eyes are wide shut…

But Satan likes it that way. He’s a liar from the beginning.

He will insist that all things are permissible (even taking a life). He will tell you there is nothing on the other side. He will tell you that you can be your own god.

Ultimately, he will enable you to be sexually ensnared and enslaved in a web of perverse bondage and spiritual peril. You will be a slave to Satan and his minions. You will be left empty, broken and destitute. This is where we are…

“We’ve … found a secret memo coming out of the Justice Department. They’re now going to go after 12 new perversions. Things like bestiality, polygamy, having sex with little boys and making that legal” ~ Former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay

I’m sorry to say this, but it’s over. Satan has control.

Ben Carson Set To Join Pastor Who Wants Gays Put To Death At Iowa Conference

Later this year, far-right Colorado radio host and homeschooling activist Kevin Swanson will be attempting to expand his national profile by organizing a “National Religious Liberties Conference” in Des Moines, Iowa.

Since Swanson believes that homosexuality should be punished by death and frequently claims that liberals are using things like the movie Frozen and Girl Scout cookies to make children gay, we hoped that even this year’s field of Republican presidential candidates would think twice before showing up at his conference.

But apparently that was too much to ask.

Steve Deace, a conservative Iowa radio host who frequently interviews GOP presidential candidates and is scheduled to speak at Swanson’s conference, spoke with Swanson about the conference last week and announced just that Ben Carson has already agreed to attend the event and that “Bobby Jindal is planning on being there.”

Deace’s statement followed a warning from Swanson that millions of American Christians will soon end up in prison because of advances in gay rights.

Indeed, the conference website lists Carson as a confirmed speaker.

We contacted the Carson campaign for comment but have yet to hear back.

As we’ve mentioned, Swanson’s record of extremism is truly unmatched.

Swanson, who hosts a daily “Generations Radio” broadcast from his basement in Colorado, not only believes gay people and their allies should be put to death, but also thinks that women are causing floods by wearing pants.

Swanson on homosexuality:

  • Defended a Ugandan measure to make homosexuality a criminal offense punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty, saying he was glad the country was “standing strong” by adopting extreme anti-gay laws.

And there’s more!

  • Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina were divine punishments of “pro-homosexual” cities.
  • Homosexuality is a “disease.”

Swanson on women:

  • Helping women in Kenya own their own cows will “obliterate” the family.

Swanson on pop culture:

  • Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry sing “demon songs.”

Anti-Gay Pastor Warns Of Contracting The 'Sodomite Demon' At Restaurants, On Dates

James David Manning, the anti-gay Harlem pastor who has struck up an alliance with the anti-government group Oath Keepers, took to his “Manning Report” YouTube program yesterday to explain his theory of how people become gay.

Just as various diseases are spread through sexual intercourse and saliva, Manning explained, so too is the “sodomite demon.” If you have had sex with or even kissed or been at the same restaurant as someone who has such “demons in their blood,” he warned, you may have been “introduced to these demons in your life, sodomy, when you had no defense.”

Anti-Gay Preacher: Supreme Court Justices Blackmailed By Secret Gay Lovers

Yesterday, notorious “Stone Homos” pastor James David Manning appeared on “Trunews” for a “discussion about Barack Obama’s satanic assault on America’s morality.”

Not only did Manning spend time criticizing President Obama, but he also castigated the Supreme Court, arguing that “the Devil himself has written this opinion” on marriage equality.

He also told host Rick Wiles that “perhaps [Justice] Kennedy and many of those who are on the Supreme Court have had sodomite relations themselves” and were being blackmailed by their secret gay lovers: “They have got to support this sodomy, they’ve got to say it or otherwise they get exposed.”

Manning said people don’t realize that the court’s ruling on same-sex marriage will lead to the fall of America: “Fifty years from now people will look back at this period and say, ‘My God from Zion, how could a nation have fallen, how could the mighty have fallen so quickly and so far and so low?’”

“If there’s anybody still alive in the United States of America 50 years from now,” Wiles added.

The “Trunews” host explained that “this country is ripe to be overthrown” since “we no longer have the Lord’s protection” and “the Lord is no longer obligated to defend the United States of America,” warning that “there’s a great attitude adjustment coming to the United States very, very soon.”

Scarborough: Gay Parents Will Drive Their Children 'Into An Early Grave Called Hell'

Last night, Vision America's Rick Scarborough spoke at St. Andrew Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida, as part of the church's weekly "Spiritual Revolution - Reclaiming America" series, where he declared that the Supreme Court's gay marriage decision will kill this nation and warned that children will now be adopted by gay parents and wind up in Hell.

"The reason Satan is trying to destroy this country right now is because we send more missionaries, do more good than any nation in history," Scarborough thundered. "But that's all at stake right now because by the act of five unelected judges mandated something upon this country that, for the first time could kill it!"

Gay marriage is far worse than abortion, he explained, because Christians can simply "opt out" and refuse to have abortions but "when homosexuals begin lining up to adopt those children, they will literally disciple them into an early grave called Hell."

Anti-Gay Clerk: Following The Law Is A Violation Of My Rights

It was only a few years ago that a local official in Louisiana drew national ire, and threats of dismissal from Gov. Bobby Jindal, for refusing to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple because he held the personal conviction that such marriages are wrong and undermine the wellbeing of children. Now, however, many Republicans are rallying around local officials who refuse to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, similarly citing their personal convictions that such marriages are wrong.

One of these officials is Casey Davis, a county clerk in Kentucky who has boasted that he will defy the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage and deny marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Davis appeared on the Family Research Council’s “Washington Watch” program yesterday, where he tried to portray himself as the latest victim of anti-Christian persecution in America.

Davis told host Tony Perkins, who heads the Family Research Council and recently praised Davis, that his rights are “being violated” by being asked to perform his job responsibilities.

“It’s not just me being violated but it’s both side of the coin, both sides of this issue that’s at stake here, and that is our First Amendment rights,” Davis said. “We have religious freedom in this country and if we lose that we’ve lost everything.”

U.S. Religious Right leaders have not been happy with President Obama’s criticism of Kenya’s criminal prohibition on homosexuality during his visit to the country last week, with Franklin Graham accusing the president of “exporting the acceptance of immorality” and Bryan Fischer deeming the president “rude.” In an interview with Newsmax TV on Monday, former Southern Baptist Convention policy head Richard Land, agreed with Graham’s comments, accusing the president of promoting “extreme gay rights” by speaking out against Kenya’s... African leaders, Fischer said on his radio program today, know that "there is... MORE

WorldNetDaily columnist Lord Christopher Monckton is not pleased that President Obama stood up for LGBT rights in Kenya, a country where homosexuality is a crime punishable by up to 14 years in prison. Monckton claimed in a column yesterday that the president’s support for LGBT rights is part of his communist agenda, alleging that communists have been working within the U.S. for nearly 100 years to “promote ‘gay rights’ as a way of undermining and destroying the family" with the hope that “destroying the family would destroy the hated West.”... Sam Rohrer of the American Pastors Network once again appeared on The Dove TV yesterday to warn that the United States has forfeited its role as the leading moral voice in the world because of the Obama administration's record of speaking out against draconian anti-gay laws in other nations, declaring that Russia under Vladimir Putin is now the "moral leader of the world." "The moral position leadership of our country has been forfeited," the former Pennsylvania Republican legislator said. "Our administration is trying to tie together foreign aid into countries in... As we noted earlier this month, the fact that Theodore Shoebat consistently calls for gays to be put to death has not prevented him from regularly being interviewed on Religious Right news programs or appearing in an anti-gay film alongside several Republican lawmakers and presidential candidates. Today, he posted a new column warning that the proposal by the Boy Scouts of America to lift the ban on gay scout masters is all part of an effort to "transform the Scouts into a Nazi-like gay youth club" that will be used to attack Christianity .... and that is why "there is... Senator and presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has repeatedly called recent Supreme Court decisions on marriage and health care reform “tyranny.” On Wednesday, he used his platform as chair of the Senate’s Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts to hold a hearing on “Supreme Court activism” in which he said that the marriage equality ruling was “the very definition of tyranny” and that “Justice Kennedy’s pop psychology has no basis in the text and history of the Constitution.” Among the... Many Religious Right leaders have thrown their support behind anti-gay laws around the world that not only criminalize gay sex but also limit free speech by making even the advocacy of LGBT equality illegal. Another tactic is to limit the free speech of equality advocates by restricting public criticism of their opponents. In Croatia, a county court has upheld a ruling of the Zagreb Municipal Court that Zagreb Pride, an LGBT rights group, had violated the personal honor and dignity of a journalist by placing her on its annual list of candidates for “homophobe of the year” in 2013...
