Religious Right Groups Warn Gay Boy Scout Leaders Will Sexually Molest And Recruit Boys Into Homosexuality

Even as the Religious Right’s favorite reality TV family is rocked by a sexual abuse scandal, the American Family Association is urging its members to pull their sons from the Boy Scouts out of fear that gay troop leaders will sexually molest them and recruit them into homosexuality.

Former AFA official Bryan Fischer, who hosts a daily program on the organization’s radio network, called Boy Scouts head Robert Gates’ support for admitting gay troop leaders “a disaster, a moral catastrophe.” If gay men are allowed to lead Boy Scout troops, he said, “It’s no longer going to be Boy Scouts of America, it’s going to be Gay Pedophiles Scouting For Boys”:

The AFA’s Randy Sharp told the organization’s OneNewsNow news outlet today that lifting the ban on gay troop leaders would present a “clear and present danger” to boys and that there for parents should “immediately remove their sons” from the organization:

He was hinting at a policy revision to allow open homosexuals to act as leaders and mentors to scouts.

Randy Sharp, director of Special Projects at the American Family Association, says the Boy Scouts are playing with a "clear and present danger" and parents should be aware.

"We would urge all parents to immediately remove their sons from the Boy Scouts of America," Sharp, speaking for the pro-family group, tells OneNewsNow.

He says homosexual leaders are poised to influence boys about their sexuality and their presence subjects boys to opportunities for sexual abuse by their trusted leaders.

John Stemberger, head of the rival organization Trail Life USA, similarly warned that such a “tragic” move by the Boy Scouts would endanger “the safety and security of its boys” and even allow “the homosexual agenda to infiltrate the church”:

John Stemberger, chairman of the board for Trail Life USA, said in a statement that Trail Life is "saddened" by the Boy Scouts' announcement.

"It is tragic that the BSA is willing to risk the safety and security of its boys because of peer pressure from activist groups," he said.

Many churches that sponsored Boy Scout troops also dropped their support and Sharp says Gates' announcement is an "opportunity for the homosexual agenda to infiltrate the church."

Meanwhile anti-gay activist Michael Brown told WorldNetDaily that allowing gay Boy Scout leaders not only “opens the door for sexual predators,” it also “opens the door for gay boys to be flirting with straight boys under the auspices of the Boy Scouts’:

Michael Brown, who holds a Ph.D. from New York University and has researched and written a number of books on homosexuality, says he is not surprised by the Scouts.

“I said from the start that gay activists would not stop at having openly homosexual boys in the Boy Scouts, but now it’s openly homosexual leaders.”

Brown, whose books include “Can You Be Gay and Christian?” and the upcoming “Outlasting the Gay Revolution: Where Homosexual Activism Is Really Going and How to Turn the Tide,” believes if the Boy Scouts accept openly homosexual leaders, they will cease to be a positive moral force in the lives of American boys.

“This sets a wrong role model for these kids,” Brown told WND.

Yet, Brown says parents should have further concerns.

“This opens the door for sexual predators, a real danger, and it opens the door for gay boys to be flirting with straight boys under the auspices of the Boy Scouts,” he said.

Americans for Truth About Homosexuality’s Peter LaBarbera, for his part, told OneNewsNow that by allowing gay leaders, the Boy Scouts would “promote the acceptance of sexual perversion”:

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality says the presence of open homosexuals will destroy the scouting organization.

"Because you cannot be a wholesome organization and promote the acceptance of sexual perversion at the same time," he warns.

As Brian wrote earlier today, evangelist Franklin Graham has warned that the move “would put young, innocent boys at risk,” while conservative author Paul Kengor said that a lack of “courage” from the Boy

Tony Perkins: Gay Rights Encouraging ISIS, Pastors Will Be Dragged 'Kicking And Screaming' Out Of Church

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins wrapped up his group’s annual “Watchmen on the Wall” pastors’ conference by warning the conservative pastors in the audience that although they “may have five years” before they are dragged “kicking and screaming” out of their churches if the Supreme Court strikes down same-sex marriage bans, they should start preparing their congregations for “persecution.”

“We are about to be challenged to the very core of what it means to be a Christian,” he said. “If the court hands down this decision redefining marriage for America, they’re not going to come and take you, dragging and kicking and screaming out of your church in the next six months. You may have five years.”

“But let me tell you who’s going to face it first,” he said. “It’s your folks that are sitting in the pew.”

He said that pastors should tell their congregations that there is no middle ground on gay rights and that “they live all for God or they don’t live at all.” It’s “time to teach them” to “resist unrighteous and unlawful government,” he added.

Perkins told them that he was not being hateful because “I love God and I love people.”

“I cannot think of anything that would be a greater display of hate than to know the truth and not speak it,” he said.

Later in his speech, Perkins repeated his claim that the supposed persecution of Christians in America resulting from LGBT equality and reproductive rights  is encouraging the violent oppression of Christians in the Middle East by groups like ISIS.

“Understand that we don’t live in a vacuum here in America,” he said. “What we do here has consequences elsewhere. If we step back and allow this growing intolerance of Christianity here at home at the hands of our own government, Christians will die at the hands of terrorists and tyrants in faraway places. If we are silent about the intolerance here at home, we have given the green flag for those abroad to target and persecute our brothers and sisters in Christ.”

Rick Joyner Apologizes To Putin And Islamists For America Becoming 'A Gay Nation'

Speaking at a “prepper” event at Jim Bakker’s megachurch in Missouri last month, televangelist Rick Joyner lamented that people like Russian President Vladimir Putin and Islamist leaders hate America because we have become “a gay nation.” This, Joyner said, was very true and deserved an apology, which he offered on the spot.

“One of the things [the Russians] really hate is what they think we have become, a gay nation,” he said. “It’s the main reason why Islam, by the way, calls us the ‘Great Satan.’ They think we’re, we say we trust God, we put that on our money, but we export the worst kinds of perversion all over the world.”

“And of course they have their own perversion, they have — but they see us as the source of the worst spiritual and moral pollution in the world. And, you know, we can’t disagree with that. That shouldn’t be happening here.”

“You know, when I spoke to a meeting of many of the top mullahs and imams at the World Public Forum, I apologized for that,” he continued. “And I will apologize. I am really sorry for the moral filth and pollution that is coming out of America, and this is happening on our watch too. You know, there are a lot of reasons why the nations hate us, but mainly they see hypocrisy on a level unprecedented. We say one thing and do the other.

Joyner, who was helping Bakker sell the survivalist goods that he markets through his ministry, went on to warn that the Obama administration is now working with the Council on American-Islamic Relations — falsely claiming that a U.S. court designated it as a terrorist group — to treat Christians in the U.S. as terrorists while completely ignoring Muslims plotting attacks.

“This is either naiveté, incompetence on a level unheard of in history, or it is treason, this is an inside job,” he said. “We’re letting them cross our border, we’re letting them fly into our thing. Now there are many being stopped, there are many great agents doing their job in spite of being handcuffed by regulations, orders coming down, memos, everything else. Our FBI was forbidden from investigating Muslims.”

Now, Joyner warned, the government has “started targeting … Christians, veterans, Second Amendment rights groups,” and saying that “we’re the terrorist threat, not the Muslims.”

“There’s a meltdown going on, America is being melted down, it’s being destroyed from within,” he warned.

US Groups Warn Ireland: Marriage Equality Means 'Homosexual Activists' Will 'Censor' & 'Punish' Christians

Ireland is voting today on a referendum that, if successful, would make the country the first in the world to institute marriage equality by popular vote — a development that has alarmed marriage equality opponents around the world, including in the U.S.

On Wednesday, a group of U.S. and Canadian marriage equality opponents sent a “ message of caution to the Irish people ” warning them that the progress of LGBT rights in the United States has “produced serious and troubling consequences for religious freedom” and led “homosexual activists” to “censor, silence, coerce, and punish religious believers who criticize, oppose or resist them.”

Signatories of the letter, which was published on the website of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, include Brian Camenker of MassResistance, Human Life International President Shenan Boquet, John Horvat of the group Tradition, Family and Property, and John-Henry Westin, editor of the Canada-based LifeSiteNews.

The examples of supposed anti-Christian persecution cited in the letter include fines imposed on businesses that refuse service to gay and lesbian customers (which are the result of nondiscrimation laws, not same-sex marriage), a misprepresentation of an exchange in the recent Supreme Court marriage arguments about discrimination by religious schools, and the fact that employers have to provide spousal benefits to their legally married gay employees.

American groups seeking to stop LGBT rights initiatives abroad are increasingly leaning on the “religious liberty” messaging that they are using at home. In fact, the ways that LGBT equality and abortion rights supposedly trample on the religious freedom of their opponents will be the theme of the next World Congress of Families gathering in Utah.

From the Catholic Action League’s press release about the letter to Ireland:

“The progress of same gender marriage in the United States has produced serious and troubling consequences for religious freedom in America, including limitations on free speech, discrimination against Catholics and other religious believers, and state sponsored coercion, characterized by harshly punitive measures against Christians and others who refuse to violate their consciences in this matter,” the signatories said in a statement released earlier today.

“Among the examples of injustice directed at those who support the perennial understanding of marriage are the following:

  • Printers, photographers, bakers, florists, innkeepers and others have been the objects of lawsuits by homosexuals, and investigations, resulting in fines---some as high as $150,000---and other civil penalties, by administrative law, government enforcement agencies, for refusing to service same gender marriage ceremonies;
  • The Solicitor General of the United States, in arguments before the U. S. Supreme Court, admitted that religiously affiliated institutions, such as schools and charities, could lose their tax exempt status if they refuse to recognize same gender unions as marriages;
  • Military and naval chaplains have faced warnings and disciplinary proceedings, for counseling members of the Armed Forces that homosexual behavior is sinful;
  • In Massachusetts, a federal judge has ruled that public schools must instruct the children attending them, without parental notification or consent, that same gender marriage is the equivalent of traditional marriage;
  • In states where same gender marriage has been legalized, employers, including religious employers, must provide spousal benefits to the partners of homosexuals who have contracted civil marriages.”

“For three decades now, homosexual activists have portrayed themselves as victims of intolerance who are only seeking to end discrimination and achieve equality. The reality is very different. Wherever the homosexual agenda has prevailed, homosexual activists have sought to use the authority of the law, the power of the government, and the money of the taxpayers to censor, silence, coerce, and punish religious believers who criticize, oppose or resist them.”

“We respectfully urge the people of the Republic of Ireland to weigh carefully the implications of same gender marriage to their own freedoms, and to re-affirm the millennia-old definition of marriage by voting No on Friday.”

Flip Benham: Legal Abortion Led To Baltimore Riots; Gays Must 'Be Free Of Homosexual Bondage'

Today on “Sandy Rios in the Morning,” Operation Save America’s Flip Benham said that the prevalence of violent crime and recent riots in cities such as Baltimore are part of God’s punishment for the legalization of abortion in the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

“There’s murder everywhere,” Benham said. “Just look in Baltimore and see what’s going on there, it’s just murder, it’s chaos, it’s anarchy. God is saying, ‘Listen, you shed the blood of the most innocent baby boy or girl, you go ahead and do that, that innocent blood has a voice that cries out to God.’ And we are now under the remedial judgments of God as a nation because of almost 60 million little baby boys and girls killed since January 22, 1973.”

He also spoke with Rios about the cancellation of a planned reality TV show starring his sons Jason and David Benham after their anti-LGBT political activism came to light. Benham said that his sons thought the show “was God’s answer” but that it was “all just taken away from them” after “Right Wing Watch [and] the homosexual community” reported on their extremist record.

“Yes they monitor the show, they’re listening now, hello Right Wing Watch,” Rios said. Benham added: “They and the homosexual community, I want so much for them to be free of that homosexual bondage, I want the very best for them.”

Rios agreed and claimed that gay people, who she “wants to be restored and whole,” are really at war with the “Creator of the Earth.”

Sandy Rios & Todd Starnes: Hide Your Kids, Hide Your Wife, The Radical Gay Left Is Indoctrinating Everyone, Everywhere

Sandy Rios, the American Family Association’s governmental affairs director and host of “Sandy Rios in the Morning,” spoke with Fox News pundit Todd Starnes at yesterday’s “Watchmen on the Wall” conference about the supposed danger posed by the gay rights movement.

Rios declared that the newest frontier of the gay left is the Girl Scouts, who have “initiated a new transgender policy where little boys who think they’re little girls can now be in Girl Scouts.” Starnes was equally concerned with this new nondiscrimination rule, observing that “the indoctrination” from the gay left “is in every single thing.”

“It’s in television, schools, the Scouts,” he said. “It’s in many churches now…it’s just non-stop.”

Striking fear in the hearts of parents everywhere, Rios warned, “if you are slow to catch up with this, please remember your kids are not safe in the places that they join: the clubs, the schools, the homes they visit. These are dangerous times and you’re going to have to really step up and guard your children.”

She added that she has started confronting Girl Scouts who are selling cookies to tell them “what Girl Scouting is all about now.”

“Your kids are not safe in the places that they join, the clubs, the schools, the homes they visit,” Rios added. “These are dangerous times and you are going to have to have to really step up and guard your children.”

Rios explained that the “ultimate goal” of the “radical gay left” is to “deconstruct the family” by breaking down “every barrier when it comes to sexuality...so that we have absolute sexual chaos.” This is an undisputed truth that “goes way back to Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto,” she said.

Starnes concluded that “when you look at the overwhelming evidence out there, there is something afoot. There is something going on in the public school system where there is some sort of radical indoctrination underway. And it’s not just in the big cities. We’re looking at something happening like this in Bentonville, Arkansas. Small towns, big towns, North, South, it’s happening all over.”

Franklin Graham: Gay Boy Scouts 'Put Young, Innocent Boys At Risk'

On his Facebook page today, Franklin Graham criticized Boy Scouts of America President Robert Gates for suggesting that the group, which recently lifted its ban on gay youth, rescind its prohibition on gay troop leaders.

“Robert Gates, shame on you for not having the moral courage to do what is right,” Graham said, calling on followers to threaten to leave the Boy Scouts if they go ahead in “bending to LGBT activist groups” and “put young, innocent boys at risk.”

Another conservative commentator, Paul Kengor, told WorldNetDaily that Gates’s announcement “torched” the scout oath. “When not even the Boy Scouts have courage anymore,” he warned, “America can rest in peace.”

Paul Kengor, a professor of political science and author of “Takedown: From Communists to Progressives, How the Left Has Sabotaged Family and Marriage,” warned the latest triumph by activists is a testament to the effectiveness of political terror.

In an interview with WND, Kengor said it’s “really a shame about the Boy Scouts.”

“Their oath forever has been about obeying God and being physically and morally straight and strong. It’s their motto. That has been torched,” he said.

“They’ve caved to the forces of ‘tolerance’ and ‘diversity’ who relentlessly picket and harass and attack and sue and scream at and demonize and dehumanize and destroy those who disagree with their completely new configurations of marriage, family, sexuality, and even morality itself.”

The Boy Scouts have shown themselves to be just as craven as all the other organizations that the gay-marriage brigades target,” Kengor charged. “When not even the Boy Scouts have courage anymore, America can rest in peace.”

Tony Perkins: Gay Rights Destroying America's 'Warrior Culture' And Chance Of Survival

Yesterday on “Washington Watch,” a caller told host Tony Perkins that both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts “are done” as organizations because of policies that he perceived as too accepting of gay people.

Perkins, the head of the Family Research Council, responded by lamenting that the Boy Scouts have been “infected with political correctness” and “moved away from their moral standard of being morally straight and clean and moving into open homosexuality.”

Pointing to the Boy Scouts’ years-long ban on water-gun fights, which only recently became a source of right-wing outrage, Perkins said that “the Boy Scouts are unfortunately becoming a thing of the past.”

“Unfortunately, the Left is not stopping with the Boy Scouts, they are trying to do the same thing to our nation’s military as well,” Perkins added. “It’s a sad commentary because it’s what I call the emasculation of our culture, or the feminizing of our culture, making boys soft. You cannot survive as a culture, you have to have warriors, you have to have a subculture that’s a warrior culture, that’s just a reality, and that’s being dismantled, one organization, one piece at a time.

GOP Partner David Lane Calls For Christianity As 'Official Religion' of US

As Brian reported this morning, the Republican National Committee continues to partner with the American Renewal Project, which is run by Christian Nationalist and anti-gay extremist David Lane and is affiliated with the far-right American Family Association.

Lane is a busy guy these days. In addition to leading a training session at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, his American Renewal Project is gearing up for its next political prayer rally, this time hosted by South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in the important early primary state. Previous Response rallies were hosted by Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

All the events push David Lane’s divisive and exclusionary view of America as a nation founded by and for Christians — a view on display in an email alert Lane sent to his supporters last night.

Lane’s letter opens with a typically distorted view of American history:

Did you realize that America's Founders established Christianity as the official religion of America in the 13 Original state Constitutions? ... Then suddenly, following three and half centuries of meteoric rise and cultural distinction, a secular U.S. Supreme Court in 1963 pronounced that the Bible would no longer be the fixed point in which to structure and judge community.

Lane’s opening misses a few minor historical points: the adoption of the Constitution, First Amendment,  and Bill of Rights, and the fact that states with established official churches had disestablished them in the 18th and 19th centuries, long before the Supreme Court ruling Lane is complaining about.

Speaking of the Supreme Court, Lane declares, “God defines marriage, not secularist crusaders of the superior court.” And in order to be “completely transparent and unclouded on God’s position on homosexuality,” he quotes several Bible verses, including one from Leviticus that a man who sleeps with another man “shall surely be put to death.”

Lane denounces the American church for its “submission to secularists.”

Egregious and scandalous is the Church’s submission to secularists, and the resignation of America’s Founder’s mission, “We do hereby Dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the People within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up Godly generations after us, and with these generations take the Kingdom of God to all the earth.”

That’s another historical sleight-of-hand. In common usage, terms like “founders” and “founding fathers” typically refer to men involved in the Declaration of Independence and the writing and ratification of the Constitution. Lane’s quote comes from Robert Hunt, a leader of the British settlement at Jamestown nearly two centuries earlier.

Republicans who attend Lane’s candidate forums, invite him to conduct trainings, or join him on all-expenses-paid trips to Israel, can’t really claim ignorance of his agenda, which is crystal clear, as he states in this week’s email alert:

The American church has lost its commission in the public square, its purpose for being. Ultimately, unless we find the chart and compass used by Colonial America to establish Christianity as the official religion of America, America will no longer be.

Far-Right Tea Party Candidate Poised To Win GOP Gubernatorial Nomination In Kentucky

Matt Bevin, the Tea Party favorite who unsuccessfully challenged Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell in the 2014 Republican primary, is now leading in a tight race for the Republican nomination for governor. An early count has Bevin ahead by 83 votes after Tuesday's primary election, making it possible that he will become the newest GOP standard-bearer in the state.

While this is great news for the Tea Party, whom Bevin calls the new abolitionists and civil rights leaders, and for Glenn Beck, who thinks Bevin is a “founder quality” candidate, who has been “ called by God” for public office, it’s less good news for everyone else. One McConnell aide said that if Bevin, a political novice, were to become governor, “his only agenda would be the commissioning of his portrait.” But his record shows that he might have quite a bit more on his plate:

Far-Right Allegiances Bevin likes to boast that in 2004 he was so “fed up” with the Republican Party that he backed the presidential candidacy of Michael Peroutka, who was running on the Constitution Party ticket. Peroutka is a Christian Reconstructionist and southern secessionist who later served on the board of the racist League of the South. While campaigning for president in 2004, Peroutka said that he was “still angry” that his home state of Maryland didn’t join the Confederacy.

Gay Marriage Panic While campaigning against McConnell in 2014, Bevin warned that legalizing marriage for gay couples could lead to parent-child marriage, comments his campaign tried, somewhat unconvincingly, to walk back.

Anti-Contraception Stance Bevin won the endorsement of the extreme anti-choice group Northern Kentucky Right to Life last year after he said in a questionnaire that he would support a “personhood” amendment to the Constitution — which would ban all abortion and even some common forms of birth control — and work to prohibit Medicaid funding for birth control pills.

Health Care Extremism Bevin is such an opponent of the Affordable Care Act that he has vowed to reverse Kentucky’s expansion of Medicaid under the law, a move that would take away the health insurance of 400,000 people. Kentucky has been one of the greatest success stories of Obamacare, experiencing what NPR calls “second-steepest drop in uninsured of any state.”

Cockfighting Bevin got plenty of negative publicity in his last campaign when it came to light that he had once spoken at a rally organized in support of legalizing cockfighting. Bevin later explained that while he opposes “animal cruelty” he supports “states’ rights” more. A Republican strategist told the New York Times that he expects the cockfighting issue to come up a lot in the general election should Bevin secure the nomination.

Anti-Gay Pundit: Gays, Like Murderers, Live A 'Dangerous' And 'Deadly Lifestyle'

Bill Muehlenberg, author of “Strained Relations: The Challenge of Homosexuality,” took to BarbWire today to claim that “loving homosexuals means telling them they don’t have to be homosexual.”

He writes that just as it wouldn’t be considered hateful to tell a slave-owner that slavery is wrong or demand that a murderer stop killing people, people who believe that “talking about a ‘cure’ for homosexuality is harmful and hateful are also unbiblical and unhelpful.”

“The only haters here are the activists who want people to stay trapped in an unhealthy and deadly lifestyle, and the confused Christians who reject Scripture for worldly wisdom,” he writes.

When you are loving in the biblical sense, you cannot be indifferent to the lost, to the plight of those heading the wrong way, to those on a one-way trip to hell. To love such people means you will warn them, you will wave [sic] the red flag, you will do everything in your power to get them off the road to ruin.

It is only when you hate someone that you will not think of their welfare – both temporal and eternal. Thus the Christian who pleads with the homosexual to be set free from his dangerous and dead-end lifestyle is acting out of love.

Those pushing this line might as well say opposing the criminal gangs wanting to hook kids on drugs is being hateful. They might as well say Wilberforce was “hating on” the slave owners as he stood up for blacks. Sorry, but to love people means resisting what enslaves them.

By this unhelpful advice, Wilberforce should have just shut up about abolition, and not make people feel guilty about their sinful activities. Loving people always means telling them the truth. Loving homosexuals means telling them they don’t have to be homosexual.

And those who claim that talking about a “cure” for homosexuality is harmful and hateful are also unbiblical and unhelpful. They might as well tell a murderer: “Hey, Jesus loves you, but I certainly won’t try to cure you of your desire to kill. Feel free to keep on doing it. I don’t want you to feel guilty after all, or feel hated on.”

The only haters here are the activists who want people to stay trapped in an unhealthy and deadly lifestyle, and the confused Christians who reject Scripture for worldly wisdom.

Jindal: Protecting LGBT Rights Will Hurt Businesses In The Long Run

Lousiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins yesterday that the corporations that oppose his recent anti-LGBT executive action “are making a big mistake” by abandoning their “traditional alliance” with social conservatives and “teaming up with the left’s radical social agenda” on LGBT rights.

After a Louisiana House committee voted down a proposed “religious liberty” bill that would have given for-profit corporations the right to discriminate against same-sex couples, Lousiana Gov. Bobby Jindal issued an executive order yesterday protecting such discrimination. As has been the case in similar fights around the country, some of the staunchest opponents of Louisiana’s “religious liberty” bill were corporations that feared it would hurt their ability to recruit employees.

In an interview with Perkins on his “Washington Watch” program, Jindal said that Republican presidential candidates need to make promoting the freedom to discriminate a priority “because the left has made their assault on religious liberty a priority” and if they succeed, America is “going to lose the freedoms that are so fundamental,” including the freedom of speech and of association.

Jindal told Perkins that Republicans should avoid being “the party of big business,” but at the same time told pro-LGBT corporations that Republicans would do their bidding on issues such as environmental regulations and labor laws.

“One of the things, Tony, we’ve got to be on guard against, sometimes big business has allied itself with the radical left — you saw it in Indiana, you saw it in Arkansas, you saw a little bit of it here in Louisiana — against religious liberty,” he said. “They’re making a big mistake. The radical left, they want to tax and regulate businesses out of existence, they’re not for profit. So these businesses need to be careful. Economic liberty is the other side of the coin of religious liberty, two sides of the same coin.”

Perkins agreed, saying, “the left is not going to help them when it comes to the environmental blockades when they try to expand, or the labor laws and issues that they deal with. In many ways, I see big business, by teaming up with the left’s radical social agenda, they’re cutting the path of expansion and prosperity out from underneath themselves.”

“Absolutely, it’s very short-sighted, these politically correct, these short-term alliances,” Jindal responded. “And then you wake up. Because you’re exactly right, the same radical left that doesn’t want Keystone, doesn’t want to lower the corporate tax rates, the same radical left that wants the EPA to strangle our economy, that also wants to pursue radical environmental agendas that will make energy more expensive, more scarce at home, this is the same left that corporate America has gotten into bed with.

“It’s an unholy, unnatural alliance, is what I’ve argued. They should remember they need to go back to fighting for liberty and freedom and understand that the two of them always go together. And that has been the traditional alliance, and I think that’s what we need to get back to.”

Earlier in the interview, Jindal claimed that LGBT rights proponents are at war with religion, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution:

One of the greatest threats to our freedom is the area of religious liberty. The left clearly wants to erode the right to religious liberty guaranteed in the First Amendment, and that’s the basis of our freedom of speech and freedom of association rights. The left wants to erase these firmly held religious beliefs they don’t agree with. Their battle’s not just with us, it’s with the Bill of Rights, it’s with the United States Constitution.

Rebuffed by Republican Legislators, Bobby Jindal Issues Executive Order on 'Religious Liberty'

In a Republican presidential field crowded with far-right candidates, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is trying to distinguish himself as the far-rightest candidate, especially on issues relating to marriage equality and its supposed threat to the religious freedom of conservative Christians.

Jindal’s latest came at the end of the day on Tuesday. Unwilling to accept the legislature’s failure to pass a so-called “religious liberty” bill (it was voted down 10-2 in a House committee), Jindal issued an executive order designed to protect any person who “acts in accordance with a religious belief that marriage is between one man and one woman.” The order explicitly defines “person” to include for-profit corporations and well as nonprofit organizations.

Jindal has adopted the rhetorical strategy promoted by the National Organization for Marriage and other opponents of LGTB equality: try to turn conversation about anti-gay discrimination “on its head” by declaring that laws protecting gay people are actually a form of discrimination against Christians. His statement about the executive order said it was designed to “prevent the state from discriminating against persons or entities with deeply held religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman.”

Jindal’s order invokes the Supreme Court’s decision in Hobby Lobby, making it the latest sign that the decision – which granted corporations a right to claim legal exemptions based on the religious beliefs of company owners -- poses a threat to nondiscrimination measures and potentially a wide range of laws protecting the interests of workers. Jindal declared that his order is “not about discrimination,” even though its clear intent is to give legal cover to companies, government officials, and others who discriminate against same-sex couples.

Louisiana does not currently give legal recognition to same-sex couples, but Jindal is concerned that the state’s ban on marriage equality may soon be struck down by the Supreme Court, a potential ruling which his order seems to be a legally questionable effort to pre-empt. Jindal should be asked to clarify exactly what actions his legislation is designed to “protect”: a courthouse clerk who refuses to process marriage license paperwork? Religious schools getting tax dollars under Jindal’s education policy refusing to accept children of gay parents? Catholic hospitals refusing to recognize the spousal or parental rights of gay couples during medical emergencies?

Jindal’s “religious liberty” bill had been opposed by business and tourism leaders as well as civil rights groups. The New Orleans Times Picayune reports that the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau CEO Stephen Perry had called the bill “a radioactive, poisonous message.”

But Jindal’s primary audience is no longer his Louisiana constituents; it's right-wing activists nationwide. Jindal boasted about the executive order by stopping by the radio program hosted by Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, an anti-gay activist who once suggested that LGBT non-discrimination measures would lead to the Holocaust perpetrated against Christians.

Right-wing pundit and Iowa GOP activist Steve Deace reacted rapturously, proclaiming Jindal his “winner of the week” for standing up to “Republicrats.”

Jindal immediately stepped in and ordered that while he’s governor the state government is not going to be a tool of the Cultural Marxists’ Rainbow Jihad against religion — particularly Christianity….

This action by Jindal is an example of what will be required of the next president if he’s going to truly honor his oath of office to defend our Constitution against all enemies — “both foreign and domestic.”

Let’s face it, the vast majority of alleged conservatives won’t stand up to the Democrats. And almost none of them will stand up to the Republicrats. On perhaps the most important issue of them all — the First Amendment that allows us the freedom to peacefully and publicly stand on principle for everything else — Jindal has done both.

But he didn’t just stand up to them rhetorically, he actually did something about it. There are several potentially exciting presidential candidates this cycle. There’s even a couple that like Jindal have shown they will tell the Republicrats bleeding us dry to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.

Anti-Gay Author: Marriage Equality Creating Same Conditions As The Holocaust

Robert R. Reilly, the vitriolic anti-gay author and former Bush administration official, appeared on “Mission America” this weekend, where he chatted with host Linda Harvey about the dangers of legalizing same-sex marriage.

After Harvey warned that a potential Supreme Court decision striking down bans on gay marriage “inevitably leads to the assertion of force and even violence against those who won’t go along with that fantasy” along with “civil unrest and conflict,” Reilly decried the “totalitarian” gay rights movement.

“I point to 1935 Germany as an analogy because that’s when the Nuremberg Laws were emplaced by Hitler’s regime which revoked citizenship to Jews and forbade Jews to marry non-Jews,” Reilly continued. “Undoubtedly there were many fine people in Germany at that time who did not believe in the race theory of history and weren’t anti-Semites, but they probably said to themselves, ‘Well this is a losing cause, let’s just let this one go and move on to other things about which we can do something, move on to something else,’ and they probably didn’t admit to themselves the real fear they of what this would eventually lead to. Of course it led to the Holocaust, World War II and the death of 60 million people.

“And so too people today, now that we are entering the enforcement phase of the rationalization for sodomy, say, ‘Well, you know look at the media, look at the American elite, the heads of corporations, we’ve lost this once, let’s move on and pay attention to the economy and the creation of new jobs,’ probably because they are afraid and don’t wish to admit to themselves what the long-term consequences of this are going to be for American society and what else is going to be coming down the line,” he added.

Later, Reilly challenged “this nonsense about accommodating gender-confused children — there aren’t gender-confused children, they are confusing the children and their gender by creating this nonsense.”

“I truly believe it’s demonic,” Harvey said. “I believe that people don’t mess with children like this unless there is a huge spiritual evil going on.”

Reilly agreed: “That’s absolutely true.”

Conservative Pundits Rail Against Dan Savage With Gay Jokes

Dan Gainor of the right-wing Media Research Center joined Houston talk radio host Sam Malone today to discuss his group’s campaign demanding that ABC cancel a new sitcom, “The Real O’Neals,” because LGBT rights advocate Dan Savage serves as one of its executive producers.

Naturally, Gainor and Malone had their own, er, interesting take on the show.

“When will this gay show kick off, is it coming around the corner?” Malone asked. Gainor replied: “I don’t think it’s coming around the corner, I think it might catch us from behind.”

Malone loved Gainor’s joke, adding that “Walt Disney would be spinning in his grave right now.” As they wrapped up the interview, Malone and Gainor decided to play ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” since it would be fitting for a show about Savage.

Craig James: LGBT Community's Intolerance 'Is Going To Kill America'

Family Research Council official Craig James guest-hosted the organization’s “Washington Watch” program yesterday, where he chatted with Texas conservative activist Jonathan Saenz about how an anti-gay bill failed in Texas legislature in part due to opposition from the Texas Association of Business.

James criticized the business group, claiming that the fight over the legislation “highlights how fearful business owners are of the blowback from the LGBT community and from folks who feel like we should be all tolerant and loving and accepting of everything.”

James, who works for one of the nation’s most virulently anti-LGBT groups, whose leaders (including James) have described gays rights as a tool of the Devil, defended Uganda’s kill-the-gays bill, called for an anti-gay revolution and urged the government to export gay people from the country, told Saenz that the LGBT community needs to show more civility or America will be lost.

“It’s the one-way street that is going to kill America,” James said. “This country has had a two-lane highway forever, both sides had the freedom to believe. Civility is gone. We’re haters if we think otherwise. What’s wrong with this country?”

Later in the program, a caller said that “we are being punished” by God because “the conservative ones of America have been silent for too long” and “part of that punishment is that we’ve been straddled in this country with a President Obama.”

His claim was met with hearty amens from James, who thanked the caller for his “great wisdom.” James warned that “the slippery slope is on right now and coming here in a few weeks, we’ll hear from the Supreme Court about the definition of marriage. If they try to redefine marriage and force that on all the states and all the people, that’s coming down the lane at us.”

Texas Activist: People Moving To Texas Because It Banned Gay Marriage

Yesterday on “Washington Watch,” Jonathan Saenz of the Religious Right group Texas Values criticized state lawmakers for failing to vote on a proposal that would have invalidated several LGBT nondiscrimination measures passed by cities throughout the state.

In particular, Saenz denounced the Texas Association of Business, which opposed the measures and said “they would devastate economic development, tourism and the convention business.”

Saenz said that the business lobby offered “absurd” reasons to “oppose religious freedom efforts,” adding that members would be “shocked” if they knew about the organization’s “extreme,” “far-left” leadership.

Laws against LGBT equality, Saenz said, “have helped Texas and have been a part of what makes Texas great. You see flocking from New York and California because of our business climate but it’s also a part of the values that we have. So this type of war on values from the Texas Association of Business within our state has got to end.”

Cathie Adams of the Texas Eagle Forum similarly told a Texas Values gathering last year that people are leaving states that “embrace homosexual marriage” for Texas. Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly has also claimed that “many Americans are dissenting with their feet” and moving to states that ban gay marriage.

Bradlee Dean Suggests Gay Marriage Will Lead To Another Holocaust

Riffing off Martin Niemöller’s famous Nazi-era “First They Came for the Socialists…” passage, Religious Right activist Bradlee Dean has posted his own poem on WorldNetDaily titled “And Then They Came For Marriage...

Dean writes that Supreme Court decisions striking down state-sponsored prayer in school, decriminalizing abortion and legalizing same-sex marriage will eventually lead to a Nazi-style holocaust of Christians.

When the hypocrites and accomplices to Adolf Hitler (Matthew 7:21-23) would sing praises to Jesus in the Protestant churches in Germany, they would sing louder to drown out the noise of the Jews, gypsies and dissidents that were crying out for help while they were being hauled off in cattle cars to concentration camps, or even worse, extermination camps (Psalm 78:9).

In fact, we could rewrite Niemöller’s quote quite well for today’s church leaders. It would probably go something like this:

First they came for prayer in school, and I did not speak out, because I was not a student. Nor did I ever look into the fact that the Supreme Court is not above the law (Article III, Section 1, of the United States Constitution (Ephesians 6:18)).

Then they came to murder the unborn in their mother’s womb, and I did not speak out, because I was not an unborn child. After all, I was told that the Supreme Court could sanction the murder of the innocent in the womb by simply calling it a woman’s choice (Proverbs 6:17). Then they came for marriage through the legalization of two men or two woman getting “married” to upend America’s sovereignty, and I did not speak out (as if to say the Supreme Court injustices have a God-given right to redefine what God Himself designed), because I did not want to be called a hater or a bigot (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13, Romans 1:24).

Then they came for me – and there was no one left to speak out for me, because I never spoke out for anyone else (let alone God) (Ezekiel 3).

It is disgraceful what we are not seeing from the pulpits in America today. Rather than seeing a thunderous barrage of righteous indignation against murder of the unborn and zeal against tyranny, injustice and immorality, we are hearing virtually nothing from over 300,000 pulpits … silence (Zechariah 1:15).

We hear church leaders (1 Corinthians 12:28) say, “Well, I don’t speak out against anything political.” The murder of innocent children, political? Homosexual marriage, political? A corrupt, wicked and lawless administration that means to destroy your country and religious freedom, political?

Together, we can turn this destruction around, but if you choose to remain silent, don’t be surprised when they come for you and there is no one left to speak out. And at that point you can rest assured that others may sing loud enough to drown out your cries.

Anti-LGBT Groups: Girls Scouts Running A 'Dangerous' 'Social Engineering Experiment On Children'

The Religious Right has long been suspicious of the Girl Scouts, which activists have claimed turns girls into promiscuous, abortion-having lesbian socialists. Anti-Girl-Scout sentiment is on the rise yet again on the Right since the organization has announced that it will allow transgender girls to join the Scouts on “a case-by-case basis.” Concerned Women for America’s Penny Nance has been making the rounds on conservative media, calling the policy a “slap in the face to Christian parents,” and a few petitions are circulating urging people to make their displeasure known to the organization.

CitizenGo, the international petition platform that the National Organization for Marriage’s Brian Brown sits on the board of, is warning that the Girl Scouts are no longer merely “teaching girls that abortion and lesbianism are normal and admirable,” but are now running “a social engineering experiment on children”:

Although their cookies may be tasty, the Girl Scouts of America (GSA) has long promoted radical agendas, including teaching girls that abortion and lesbianism are normal and admirable. But now, they've gone even further to promote a sexual ideology to children.

In accordance with the new policy, the GSA website now reads, "If the child is recognized by the family and school/community as a girl and lives culturally as a girl, then Girl Scouts is an organization that can serve her in a setting that is both emotionally and physically safe."

In plain English, this means that families will be forced play gender make-believe and accept biological boys as girls. Boys in skirts and make-up, sharing tents with young vulnerable girls will now become an accepted part of the Girls Scouts program. This obviously puts children at risk and treats a recognized mental health problem as normative.

It's a tragedy that GSA leadership is willing to run a social engineering experiment on children, both the confused boys and the innocent girls wondering why a boy in a dress is in the bathroom with them.

If you believe that the GSA has gone too far with normalizing a radical sexual ideology, please sign our petition to the Girl Scouts of America, telling them that the Girl Scouts program is for girls, period!

Meanwhile, the American Family Association and its affiliate One Million Moms, seem to have picked up some of the same talking points, warning that the Girl Scouts’ “dangerous policy” will “put young innocent girls at risk” by forcing them to associate with “[b]oys in skirts, boys in make-up and boys in tents.”

Sign our petition to tell the Girl Scouts of America to stop this nonsense by rescinding this dangerous policy now!

The group says on its website, "If the child is recognized by the family and school/community as a girl and lives culturally as a girl, then Girl Scouts is an organization that can serve her in a setting that is both emotionally and physically safe."
This means girls in the organization will be forced to recognize and accept transgenderism as a normal lifestyle. Boys in skirts, boys in make-up and boys in tents will become a part of the program. This change will put young innocent girls at risk.

Adults are willing to experiment on our kids - both the boys who are confused and the girls who will wonder why a boy in a dress is in the bathroom with them.

The Girl Scouts of America has lost its moral compass and needs your encouragement to rescind this new policy. Since 2003, bad policies like this have resulted in GSA's enrollment dropping by over one million girls, almost 27% of its membership.

End Times Preacher: 'Perverted' Gays Bringing Divine Judgment On America

End Times radio host Rick Wiles appears to be upset that he has faced criticism for linking gay marriage to the California drought, food shortages and an imminent fireball from space, skewering the criticism on yesterday’s edition of “Trunews.”

While speaking with pastor John Kilpatrick about how God will punish Americans if the Supreme Court strikes down bans on same-sex marriage, Wiles said that “the left-wing media has been mocking me for weeks because I equated the mega-drought with the sin of California and this nation, so they’re having a field day mocking me. But our food basket is being judged right now….The earth is judging us right now.”

“There will be a catering to that perverted sin and that perverted crowd,” Kilpatrick agreed, “there will be a catering to those people on a level that you can’t begin to imagine and also I think it’s going to bring judgment on the country, I believe it will bring judgment on the land.”

Kilpatrick also wondered why Americans are still supporting things like gay rights when they know they will invite God’s judgment: “Years ago, something would happen like an earthquake or something like that, big things happen, people would humble themselves and repent and they’d pray. But, man, nowadays you don’t hear people repenting and praying whenever you see these major things happening, now they refuse to repent and they just keep going headlong right into the face of judgment.”

Even as the Religious Right’s favorite reality TV family is rocked by a sexual abuse scandal, the American Family Association is urging its members to pull their sons from the Boy Scouts out of fear that gay troop leaders will sexually molest them and recruit them into homosexuality. Former AFA official Bryan Fischer, who hosts a daily program on the organization’s radio network, called Boy Scouts head Robert Gates’ support for admitting gay troop leaders “a disaster, a moral catastrophe.” If gay men are allowed to lead Boy Scout troops, he said, “It... Family Research Council President Tony Perkins wrapped up his group’s annual “Watchmen on the Wall” pastors’ conference by warning the conservative pastors in the audience that although they “may have five years” before they are dragged “kicking and screaming” out of their churches if the Supreme Court strikes down same-sex marriage bans, they should start preparing their congregations for “persecution.” “We are about to be challenged to the very core of what it means to be a Christian,” he said. “If the court hands... “It’s the main reason why Islam, by the way, calls us the ‘Great Satan.’ They think we’re, we... Ireland is voting today on a referendum that, if successful, would make the country the first in the world to institute marriage equality by popular vote — a development that has alarmed marriage equality opponents around the world, including in the U.S. On Wednesday, a group of U.S. and Canadian marriage equality opponents sent a “ message of caution to the Irish people ” warning them that the progress of LGBT rights in the United States has “produced serious and troubling consequences for religious freedom” and led “homosexual activists” to... God is saying, ‘Listen, you shed the blood of the most innocent baby boy or girl, you go ahead and do that, that innocent... MORE

Sandy Rios, the American Family Association’s governmental affairs director and host of “Sandy Rios in the Morning,” spoke with Fox News pundit Todd Starnes at yesterday’s “Watchmen on the Wall” conference about the supposed danger posed by the gay rights movement. Rios declared that the newest frontier of the gay left is the Girl Scouts, who have “initiated a new transgender policy where little boys who think they’re little girls can now be in Girl Scouts.” Starnes was equally concerned with this new nondiscrimination rule, observing that... On his Facebook page today, Franklin Graham criticized Boy Scouts of America President Robert Gates for suggesting that the group, which recently lifted its ban on gay youth, rescind its prohibition on gay troop leaders. “Robert Gates, shame on you for not having the moral courage to do what is right,” Graham said, calling on followers to threaten to leave the Boy Scouts if they go ahead in “bending to LGBT activist groups” and “put young, innocent boys at risk.” Another conservative commentator, Paul Kengor, told WorldNetDaily that Gates’s...
