After delivering a feisty speech at last week’s “March for Marriage” about how “real men” must stop gay marriage from harming women, Rep. Tim Huelskamp chatted with the conservative website CNSNews about gay marriage and adoption rights. The Kansas Republican agreed with a CNSNews reporter’s suggestion that marriage equality will “destroy the institution of marriage and of [the] family” and warned that it will pave the way for polygamy. When asked if he also opposes the right of gay couples to adopt children, Huelskamp tried to avoid the... MORE >

Rep. Tim Huelskamp, the chief sponsor of the Federal Marriage Amendment, had a message for “every man in America” at today’s March for Marriage: “Your woman, your wife, she needs you, it’s time you become a real man and stand up.” Possibly under the impression that the legalization of same-sex marriage will break up opposite-sex unions, the Kansas Republican congressman emphasized that he loves his wife and believes that men who love their wives must join the fight to stop marriage equality. “Be a real man of God because this is about you and your... Rep. Tim Huelskamp of Kansas is facing two challengers in the Republican primary in August, one of whom has now come under attack by anti-gay activists in the state for having appeared in a "homosexual movie" filmed several years ago that was written and directed by a friend of his. Alan LaPolice, who is challenging Huelskamp for the seat representing Kansas' First District, had a small role in a movie entitled "The Art of Being Straight" for which he is now being criticized by Religious Right activists: Congressional candidate Alan LaPolice’s appearance in the... Last night, members of Congress and Religious Right activists gathered in Statuary Hall inside the US Capitol for an annual event called "Washington: A Man of Prayer" at which they honored George Washington by collectively praying that God would protect and defend the United States of America. Hosted by Mike Huckabee, the two hour event featured a variety of elected leaders, such as Rep. Tim Huelskamp and Rep. Steve King, who spoke together from the podium. Huelskamp asserted that God is at the heart of America because there is a small chapel located literally in the very center of... MORE >

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) said this week that he will join efforts to impeach of Attorney General Eric Holder over his stance on marriage equality, citing a petition by the Coalition of African-American Pastors and accusing Holder of trying to “thwart” the Constitution by not defending the Defense of Marriage Act. Of course, the Obama administration would be far from the first administration to decline to defend an unconstitutional law, with Republicans and Democrats alike doing the same in the past. Several Republicans have already proposed a resolution seeking Holder’s... MORE >

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) is continuing his crusade against Speaker John Boehner, this time focusing on yesterday’s debt ceiling vote. Speaking with WorldNetDaily yesterday, Huelskamp and fellow Tea Party-aligned congressmen Steve Stockman (R-TX) and Steve King (R-IA) criticized Boehner for approving a clean debt ceiling extension. The Kansas Republican complained, “Why don’t we just re-elect Nancy Pelosi as speaker?” Boehner said his strategy is to let Democrats take the blame for removing the debt ceiling until 2015. Responded Huelskamp, “We’re... MORE >
Rep. Huelskamp: Defund Obamacare Because 90 Percent Of Americans Oppose Abortion Provision That Doesn't Exist
SUBMITTED BY: Brian Tashman, Friday 09/20/2013, 3:25pm
You really have to marvel at Republican members of Congress who believe that the message of the 2012 election, in which the candidate who campaigned for Obamacare soundly defeated the candidate who campaigned to repeal Obamacare, was that most Americans want to repeal Obamacare by any means possible. Following an election in which Democrats won the popular vote for the House of Representatives, a mere 36 percent of Americans favor repealing the Affordable Care Act and just 28 percent of voters say they’d be more likely to support a congressman who is willing to shut down the government...
