Frank Gaffney: Democrats 'Aligned With Our Enemies,' Will 'Doom All Of Us'

The Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney, a former adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, said today that Democrats are “aligned with our enemies and not with America” and “will doom all of us if they have their way.”

In an interview with “Breitbart News Daily,” Gaffney accused Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine of “aligning” with the Muslim Brotherhood and implicated the party in far-left, anti-DNC protests in Philadelphia this week in which protesters reportedly burned American and Israeli flags.

“The bigger question, which I think more and more of us are tumbling to watching this spectacle is not just the ignoring of that reality, it is the aligning with our enemies,” Gaffney said. “You talked earlier about Tim Kaine having done a lot of that with the Muslim Brotherhood. He’s not alone. There are whole bunches of them in the progressive movement. Look at the Palestinian flags. Look at people burning Israel’s flag and burning the American flag. These people are on the wrong side. I’m sorry for Democrats, I used to be one myself, who are now being completely disenfranchised by a party that is aligned with our enemies and not with America. They will doom all of us if they have their way.”

Frank Gaffney: Obama May Have To 'Preemptively' Pardon Hillary Clinton

One person who was convinced by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's make-believe one-man prosecution and conviction of Hillary Clinton at the Republican National Convention last night was Frank Gaffney, who declared on his "Secure Freedom Minute" broadcast today that the only way out for Clinton now is to seek a preemptive pardon from President Obama for crimes that she has not even been charged with but for which she will eventually be "tried and convicted in the court of public opinion."

Interestingly, Gaffney once accused Christie of "misprision of treason" for appointing a Muslim-American judge to the bench.

It's now just a question of time. Specifically, when when will President Obama pardon Hillary Clinton? That question was the inevitable takeaway from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's powerful indictment, literally, of the former secretary of state in his address to the GOP convention last night.

The one-time federal prosecutor methodically laid out the litany of lies, malfeasant and other criminal activities with which Mrs. Clinton could and should be charged. The crowd found her guilty again and again. Naturally, the most politicized Justice Department ever won't prosecute the incipient Democratic presidential nominee but Gov. Christie showed how, all other things being equal, Hillary Clinton will be tried and convicted in the court of public opinion.

The only possible way out is for President Obama to pardon her preemptively and soon. It may not change the ultimate verdict but it would commute Hillary's sentence.

Frank Gaffney: Black Lives Matter Working With 'Islamic Supremacists' To Incite Revolution

Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy and a former top adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, reacted this morning to the deaths of five Dallas police officers in an ambush near a Black Lives Matter rally by once again accusing the racial justice movement of working with “Islamic supremacists” to incite “revolution” in America.

“‘No justice, no peace’ is the victimhood narrative being used by some to justify and possibly incite insurrection,” Gaffney said on his “Secure Freedom Minute” this morning. “That’s in part because of the announced intention of Black Lives Matter operatives, Occupy movement anarchists and Islamic supremacists to collaborate in what is being openly discussed as revolution in America. If such forces are ignored until they act on that threatening agenda, there surely will be no peace, whether there is justice or not.”

Tancredo: Obama Possibly A Muslim, ‘Hates The America You And I Love’

During anti-immigrant hate group Federation for American Immigration Reform’s “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” radio row last month, former Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., claimed that President Obama “hates the America you and I love” and is bent on transforming American culture via the mass immigration of non-assimilating Muslims.

“What does this man care about the Constitution or the Supreme Court?” Tancredo asked the Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney on his June 23 “Secure Freedom Radio” program.

“When we recognize that one of the very first things [Obama] ever really promised during a campaign, during his first campaign, was something no one really paid attention to until recently, and that is that he said, ‘I have every intent to thoroughly transform the United States of America,’” Tancredo said. “Well, if you understand that and if you understand he’s still totally committed to that, and that everything he does is designed to do that, then you can understand why he presses the issue of immigration so much, because especially immigration from Muslim countries, especially Islamic immigration, will help him in that endeavor. It does eventually thoroughly change and transform America. It reaches his goal. He hates the America you and I love.”

“Many of us have always raised the issue when we talk about immigration, we raise the issues of the impact on low-skilled labor, the lack of jobs, the cost of the education system, the cost of the medical system in America,” Tancredo said. “All these things are true, but they pale in comparison by the danger posed by massive immigration, both legal and illegal, of people who don’t want to be American.”

He continued, “Our own government is saying, ‘Don’t assimilate. There’s nothing here of value, there’s no reason for you to attach yourself to that old America. You wanna be separate and apart and we’ll help you do that. It is to change the culture in that way and for all times, in their estimation, in their hope, and I fear so often that they are ahead of us here.”

In an interview with Baltimore radio host Tom Marr at the FAIR event the same day, Tancredo wondered if Obama wants to transform America because he’s secretly Muslim.

“I often wonder what he actually was thinking, what went through his mind, each time he had to put his hand on the Bible and take the oath of office, and say he was going to, you know, he swore to uphold the Constitution. What was going through his mind at the time?” Tancredo asked. Both Marr and Tancredo suggested that Obama wanted to have his other hand on the Quran.

“There’s always the, you know, is he really a Muslim? And for them, it is perfectly acceptable to lie about this kind of thing in order to accomplish the goal,” Tancredo said. Tancredo also claimed the best way to transform America for years to come, as he said Obama does, is to bring in millions of immigrants who don’t assimilate and intend to change America.

Gaffney: Black Lives Matter-Liberal-Islamist 'Axis Of Evil' Working Together To Destroy America

Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy and a former adviser to Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, joined conservative radio host Greg Garrison on his show on Friday to discuss recent anti-Trump protests. Gaffney argued that Black Lives Matter, “Occupy types,” liberals and “Islamic supremacists” form an “axis of evil” and that they oppose “the rule of law,” “our government,” “our Constitution” and “freedom more generally.”

Gaffney claimed that supporters of liberal investor George Soros collaborate with Muslims for such protests, saying, “The Soros crowd has been working hand-in-glove with the Islamists for years funding some of their operations, certainly making common cause with them for the purpose of, well, the larger Soros agenda, as well as that of the Islamic supremacists destroying this country.”

He continued, “One of the things that has come to light is that this axis of evil, if you wish, of the Black Lives Matter, you know, victimhood agitators, the Occupy types, assorted other hard-left groups, ANSWER Coalition and the like, and the Islamists, is very much operating these days.”

“This is very much tied into a strain of hostility to the rule of law and to our government and to our Constitution and to freedom more generally, that is, despite their many differences, the shared purpose of Islamic supremacists on the one hand and the hard-left on the other,” Gaffney said.

Gaffney: Susan Rice Diversity Speech Example Of 'Racist Assaults On The Common Defense'

Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy and a former national security adviser to Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, was put off by a speech that White House national security adviser Susan Rice gave in Florida yesterday advocating for greater diversity in national security and foreign policy agencies.

“By now, we should all know the dangers of ‘groupthink,’ where folks who are alike often think alike,” Rice said. “By contrast, groups comprised of different people tend to question one another’s assumptions, draw on divergent perspectives and experiences, and yield better outcomes.”

This was too much for Gaffney to handle, so he dedicated his “ Secure Freedom Minute” broadcast today to blasting Rice’s “racism” against white people and claiming that the Obama administration is launching “racist assaults on the common defense” on top of such ongoing projects as “the sexual and social reengineering of the armed forces.”

The definition of racism is imputing shared qualities to a given population simply because they have a skin color in common. Yesterday in Florida, Obama national security adviser Susan Rice declared that people who are alike, namely white people, often think alike. She went on effectively to suggest that Caucasians should therefore be denied employment opportunities in the national security community so that America is ‘fully reflected’ in its ranks. That’s racism.

Worse yet, the White House press secretary indicated that the president agrees. So add racist assaults on the common defense to such other Obama initiatives as debilitating defense budget cuts, religious persecution against Christians in uniform, a lack of training and new weaponry, crippling environmental restrictions and the sexual and social reengineering of the armed forces. The cumulative effect is to leave them hollowed out and inviting enemy aggression. Some legacy.

Ted Cruz Adviser: Criminal Justice Reform Aids Democrats And Jihadists

Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy and a national security adviser to Ted Cruz, managed to combine a number of his interests into his “Secure Freedom Minute” broadcast today, warning the GOP against bipartisan efforts to reduce mass incarceration because they will result in the release of people who will likely vote Democratic and who may have converted to Islam in prison.

Gaffney criticized Democratic Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe for his executive order restoring voting rights to 200,000 people who had served time for felonies but who had previously been barred from voting for life by one of the toughest disenfranchisement policies in the country. Gaffney lamented that the expanded voting rights “could well skew the outcome in his state.”

Yet, he said, some Republicans are supporting federal criminal justice reform legislation that would help to reduce inflated mandatory minimum sentences, thus letting some people out of prison early who, he warned, might vote Democratic or become violent jihadists.

“Unfortunately, problematic as these felons’ future votes may be for the GOP of the country,” he said, “of immediate concern is the impact of their release on public safety. That is especially so since a significant portion of those getting out early will be prison converts to Islamic supremacism and its jihad. This may be a bipartisan mistake, but it’s still a mistake.”

Frank Gaffney Is Outraged That Muslim-Americans Are Meeting With Members Of Congress

Today on “Sandy Rios In The Morning,” Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy expressed outrage that the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations has organized an “advocacy day” on Capitol Hill, despite the fact that groups across the political spectrum have organized similar lobby days where activists meet with lawmakers and congressional aides. The event page notes:

USCMO’S advocacy day event will focus on promoting a legislative agenda in support of equality and social justice issues that will be of benefit to all Americans, regardless of faith or background, including:

• Support for House and Senate resolutions recognizing and condemning Islamophobia.

• Support legislation that enables individuals to build a credit history without taking on credit debt.

• Support legislation that promotes greater access to fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthful whole foods in impoverished areas.

• Address American Muslim community concerns regarding the oversight, management and approach of federal Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) programs.

Naturally, Gaffney said that the real goal of the occasion is to push Sharia law:

What they’re trying to do is essentially engage in influence operations. This isn’t to say like any other American citizen they don’t have the right to petition their elected representatives. What is worrying, though, is that as part of the larger Muslim Brotherhood operation inside the United States, this relatively new group, of which the Council on American-Islamic Relations is a part, called the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, USCMO, is trying to take political influence to a new level, and that is to actually build political muscle to compel legislators or other would-be elected officials to conform to their demands.

And their demands, unfortunately, are to obtain all kinds of accommodations, perhaps most worryingly, of the kind that would enable them to insinuate this really totalitarian program they call Sharia inside our country. I think that’s the agenda here and it’s very troubling indeed.

Something tells us that he wouldn’t label the many lobby days assembled by other groups “influence operations” or say that by sitting down with their elected representatives they are engaging in an insidious plot “to take political influence to a new level.”

Gaffney serves as a national security adviser to Ted Cruz along with his Center for Security Policy colleague Clare Lopez, who voiced similar anger about an effort to get Muslim-Americans out to vote.

Cruz Advisers: Obama Using 'White Privilege And Nonsense Like That' To Weaken The Military

The Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney and the Family Research Council’s Jerry Boykin, both national security advisors to Sen. Ted Cruz, discussed on Gaffney’s radio program yesterday how they believe President Obama is, perhaps intentionally, weakening the military by allowing women in combat and training troops on what Boykin called “white privilege and nonsense like that.”

Gaffney asked Boykin if he thought that “the policies that the president has been pursuing” that he claimed have “diminished the readiness” of the military are “designed to have that effect” or if it’s just a coincidence.

Boykin responded that while he “can’t answer what this administration is thinking,” it’s “certainly a possibility” that the president is intentionally weakening the military.

He contrasted the recent capture of an American boat in Iranian waters to the Vietnam era, when “to get a statement out of a POW that was being held in Hanoi, you had to beat that man almost to the point of killing him.”

“Frank, what’s happened to our military?” he asked. “Now, I’ll tell you what part of it is. They have not spent their time being trained on the code of conduct. They’ve spent their time being trained on tolerance and inclusion.”

“Diversity, sensitivity, and white privilege,” Gaffney said derisively.

“Yeah, that’s right,” Boykin said, “on white privilege and nonsense like that. That’s where they spend their training time. I get feedback from military people all the time. 'Sir, we spent the entire week doing nothing but classroom training on tolerance and integrating women into the infantry.' And, I mean, Frank, we’re wasting precious training time at a time when our enemies are growing stronger and we’re growing weaker.”

Earlier in the interview, Boykin and Gaffney took aim at one of their favorite targets, the Southern Poverty Law Center, which Boykin called “probably, next to the Muslim Brotherhood, the most evil group in America.”

The two also revealed that in February Boykin presented Gaffney with the “George Washington Leadership Award” on behalf of the Council for National Policy, a secretive conservative umbrella group that is currently led by Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.

Cruz Adviser: 'No-Go Zones' In Minneapolis

Clare Lopez, the vice president of the Center for Security Policy and a national security adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, told a Minnesota radio program yesterday that parts of Minneapolis have become “no-go zones” where the police “don’t go” and are letting Sharia law take hold.

Lopez, speaking on the “Ox in the Afternoon” program about supposed “no-go zones” in Europe, said that “we’ve got them in America, at least in the beginning stages.”

“In Minneapolis, for example, places where the police don’t go because they know they’ll be attacked, have been attacked in the past already, and places where the police know that Sharia is being practiced,” she said.

Last year, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins similarly claimed that neighborhoods in Minneapolis had become “no-go zones” where authorities had allowed Sharia to become the law of the land. This prompted Rep. Keith Ellison, who represents parts of Minneapolis, to invite Perkins to tour the city and see for himself. Perkins is now a prominent supporter of Cruz.

Cruz himself pointed to Minnesota as a place where the police should increase patrols of Muslim-American communities.

Lopez, who said she was in Minnesota to deliver several talks, warned that the U.S. is in danger of terrorist attacks like those that happened recently in Paris and Brussels because the country has “allowed in and invited in populations of Muslim migrants and refugees who do not have the same worldview, the same principles, the same democratic, constitutional principles that we live by in this country” and “allowed them not to assimilate.”

Islam, she said, “has actually conquered every single other major civilization it’s ever gone up against, from the Buddhists to the Byzantines to the Middle East Christians to the Middle East Jews to the Hindus to the Persians, conquered every last one of them, some of them might, sophisticated civilizations at their peak, conquered them all. There are only two left standing: the Han Chinese and whatever’s left of Western civilization. That is a sobering reality.”

Anti-Immigration Activist: Dems Want To Bring In Immigrants to Vote Illegally

Rosemary Jenks, the director of government relations at the anti-immigration group NumbersUSA, claimed yesterday that Democrats are pressing for immigration reform because they “look at all the people around the world” as “potential Democratic voters in the United States” and hope that immigrants will cast Democratic votes even before becoming citizens.

The Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney interviewed Jenks on his “Secure Freedom Radio” program yesterday, asking her if immigration plans like Hillary Clinton’s would just serve as “a magnet” for “more immigration of an illegal kind.”

“There’s absolutely no question about that,” Jenks replied, “and we’ve seen that for the past eight years. This current administration, the Obama administration, is absolutely unwilling to stop anyone from entering the country illegally or to remove them once they do enter the country illegally. So we have this situation where essentially Democrats look at all the people around the world, the billions of them, as potential Democratic voters in the United States. So if they can get here, the Democrats will do whatever they can to make sure they can stay and eventually become citizens and vote — you know, well, whether or not they're citizens.”

“Yeah, maybe as soon as they can, not when they become citizens,” Gaffney replied.

“And it’s a huge problem with a general viewpoint,” Jenks continued, “if you look at folks from outside the country as Democratic voters, then your answer is ‘bring them all in,’ and that cannot be the answer for the survival of our country.”

Contrary to Jenks’ claims, undocumented immigrant population has actually dropped in recent years; likewise, immigrants’ rights advocates might object to her claim that Obama is “absolutely unwilling” to deport undocumented immigrants.

Jenks formerly worked at the Center for Immigration Studies, another anti-immigration group founded by activist John Tanton.

Cruz Advisers: Trump Protesters Want Violent Revolution

Last week, the Center for Security Policy, a group led by top Ted Cruz national security adviser Frank Gaffney, published an article on its website claiming that the protesters at a recent Donald Trump presidential campaign event in Chicago consisted of “a ‘Red-Green Axis’ of groups that include the Muslim Brotherhood in America, the Black Lives Matter movement, and a collection of communists, leftists, progressives and socialists whose sole unifying objective is to bring down the U.S. government.”

Gaffney then discussed the article on his radio program, repeating the claim that the protests in Chicago — which ended up with clashes between protesters and Trump supporters — were led by “Islamic supremacists” along with “Black Lives Matter and Occupy movements and sort of anarchists and other assorted radicals on the left,” all bent on starting a violent revolution.

The topic came up yet again on Gaffney’s “Secure Freedom Radio” program yesterday, when Gaffney interviewed fellow Center for Security Policy staffer and Cruz adviser Clare Lopez, who repeated the warning that the Chicago protests represented the union of the Muslim Brotherhood, Black Lives Matter and a “conglomeration of anarchists, communists, socialists, progressivists, leftists of all sorts, Occupy, Bill Ayers types.”

This “witch’s brew” of an alliance, she said, isn’t focused only on Trump but is aiming “at the American political system, the American system.”

Warning that some American mosques have become “command and control centers for jihad,” Lopez said that Muslim groups are “calling for revolution in the streets.”

She also warned of “a coordinated effort to involve Muslims into the electoral process,” which she said would normally be fine, “but when it’s being encouraged and directed and organized and directed by the Muslim Brotherhood, a jihadist organization, then there’s cause for concern.”

“And this is what’s happening,” she said, “a very concerted attempt to bring Muslims into confrontation politically, yes, and perhaps more.”

Cruz Adviser: Chicago Clashes Portend Violent Revolution By Islamists, Occupy Wall Street & Black Lives Matter

Frank Gaffney, the notorious anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist who recently became one of Sen. Ted Cruz’s top national security advisers, warned on his radio program last week that the violent clashes around a recent Donald Trump rally in Chicago are the harbinger of a violent revolution led by an alliance of Islamists, Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter protesters, anarchists and “other assorted radicals on the left.”

In an interview with fellow conservative commentator Diana West on his “ Secure Freedom Radio” program on March 16, Gaffney asked West about a new count from the anti-immigration Center for Immigration Studies showing that there are 61 million “immigrants and their American born children” currently living in the U.S. (That CIS counts “American-born children” — who are not immigrants — in its number is a classic sleight of hand from the group.)

Gaffney asked West what that “stunning” report “means for the national identity.”

“Identity as any kind of a nation is not possible when there is no nation to identify with,” West lamented, saying that the population of immigrants and their families amounts to “population replacement.”

She then linked the Mexican-born population of Chicago with the clashes outside the Trump rally.

“I think Chicago becomes a very important example,” she said. “I had no idea until I started looking at the Chicago shutdown of the Trump rally last week that Chicago itself is almost as Hispanic as it is black, around 30 percent for both groups. However, one in five residents of Chicago is Mexican-born. I mean, this is a staggering kind of demographic change. And, you know, when you have a politician who is discussing controlling that, building a wall with Mexico and so on, you see where we end up with these kinds of flashpoints. It’s not politics as usual because this is not our country as usual. I mean, we are in a state of flux, of crisis, of change that people have not been made aware of until this particular moment.”

Gaffney too saw a dire warning in the Chicago incident, saying that it represents a “coming together” of Islamists and social justice activists and “portends a very violent prospect, in fact a revolutionary one”:

But let’s talk about, specifically, the prospects — and I think the case in point at the moment, but not the only example, unfortunately, is that Chicago rally — of a coming together of, on the one hand, Islamists — Islamic supremacists if you will, the Muslim Brotherhood — and Black Lives Matter and Occupy movements and sort of anarchists and other assorted radicals on the left. And it seems as though … this coming together, this joining of forces, portends truly a very violent prospect, in fact a revolutionary one. Do you see it that way?

“Yes, it’s very possible, it’s very possible,” West responded. “You could look at Chicago as a dress rehearsal.”

Cruz's Call To 'Patrol And Secure Muslim Neighborhoods' Echoes Demands Of Extremist Advisers

Sen. Ted Cruz reacted to the terrorist attacks in Brussels today by saying that the U.S. should “empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized,” a vague proposal with troubling civil liberties implications.

It should hardly be surprising that Cruz made such a statement, however, since he has recently named as national security advisers several activists who have called for the severe curtailing of civil liberties for American Muslims.

One of Cruz’s new national security advisers, Family Research Council official Jerry Boykin, has said that “Islam is not a religion and does not deserve First Amendment protections” and has called for “no mosques in America”:

Perhaps giving a hint at the neighborhoods Cruz wants the police to “secure,” Boykin once absurdly claimed that the police refuse to go into the city of Dearborn, Michigan, because of its large Muslim population.

Boykin first gained notoriety as a Pentagon official during the Bush administration, when he was repeatedly rebuked by the administration for giving speeches framing the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan as holy wars between Christianity and Islam (or, in his words, “our God” and the “idol” Satan).

Another of Cruz’s new national security advisers, the Center for Security Policy’sFrank Gaffney, believes that there is extensive Islamist infiltration of the federal government, the Republican Party and even the National Rifle Association, and once called for the establishment of a “House Anti-American Activities Committee” to investigate this supposed infiltration. To give you an idea of whom that committee would go after, Gaffney is the activist behind allegations that Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, conservative activist Suhail Khan and anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist are all aiding the Muslim Brotherhood. (Khan and Abedin are Muslim and Norquist’s wife is Muslim.)

Another Cruz adviser, Clare Lopez, said recently that Sen. Joseph McCarthy was “spot-on” in his notorious hunt for communist infiltrators. Another adviser, Andy McCarthy, has said that Islam may not deserve full legal protections because it may not be, “strictly speaking, a religion.”

Cruz Adviser Frank Gaffney Stumps For Grover Norquist NRA Recall Effort

When Sen. Ted Cruz named the Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney as a top national security adviser last week, he stepped right into a battle that is raging in the National Rifle Association over one of its board members, the anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist. Gaffney has been claiming for years that Norquist is a Muslim Brotherhood plant in the conservative movement, a cause that has recently been taken up by Glenn Beck, who is trying to get Norquist kicked off the NRA’s board over the baseless accusation.

On his “Secure Freedom Radio” program last week, Gaffney promoted the latest effort to recall Norquist from the NRA’s board, urging listeners to vote for the Norquist recall because the anti-tax activist has done “incalculable harm, I believe, to the party, the conservative movement, the country, and is certainly not fit to be a leader of the National Rifle Association.”

Gaffney backed up his point by arguing that the Muslim Brotherhood must have someone in the conservative movement.

“The efforts that the Muslim Brotherhood, particularly, has made over the years to subvert us from within seem to be designed to attack all of our civil society institutions and governing agencies,” Gaffney told his guest, Robert Spencer. “Is it possible that they could have overlooked or decided not to go after the Republican Party and the conservative movement in their civilization jihad against us?”

“There’s just no possibility of that whatsoever,” Spencer agreed. “They want to make sure to control the people who are in power, and to do that they have to have people who are highly placed in both parties. And they have very skillfully operated in the Republican Party by means of people like Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan.”

Cruz National Security Adviser: Joseph McCarthy Was 'Spot-On'

Clare Lopez, a member of Sen. Ted Cruz’s recently announced national security advisory team, declared in a recent radio interview that Sen. Joseph McCarthy was “spot-on” in his investigation of communists infiltrating the U.S. government, implying that a similar effort should be made to root out Muslim Brotherhood associates in “the top levels of national security in our government.”

Lopez joined South Carolina radio host Vince Coakley on March 1 to discuss efforts in Congress — led in part by Cruz — to urge the Obama administration to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, which Lopez said misses the point because the real threat from the group is “the subversion, the infiltration, the influence operations."

“Brotherhood affiliates and associates and those connected to it are the go-to advisers, if not appointees, for the top levels of national security in our government, in this administration for sure, but going back many decades, really, is the program of this Brotherhood,” she claimed.

She compared the situation to the influence of communists before the House Un-American Activities Committee and Sen. McCarthy got involved in rooting out subversives, calling McCarthy’s efforts “spot-on.”

“We can go all the way back, of course, to the time of the Cold War and back to the 1920s, ‘30s, ‘40s when communists, you know, the KGB, infiltrated our government at the very highest levels,” she said. “And then, like now, we were unprepared and in large measure unaware of what was going on, at least until the House Un-American Activities got rolling in the 1950s with Sen. Joseph McCarthy, who absolutely was spot-on in just about everything he said about the levels of infiltration. So we have precedent for this where we were not fully aware of the infiltration occurring at the time.”

Another top Cruz adviser, Frank Gaffney — Lopez's boss at the Center for Security Policy —  has called for the reinstatement of HUAC.

Cruz Adviser: Liberals & Islamists Plan To 'Take Us Down' With Aid To Non-English Speakers

The Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney was, until very recently, a bit of a pariah in establishment GOP circles thanks to his obsessive quest to prove the Islamist infiltration of not only the Obama administration but also the Republican Party. But, as Brian noted yesterday, that has changed dramatically in recent months as Republican presidential candidates have flocked to his primary campaign events, Donald Trump cited his group’s shoddy research in his call to ban Muslims from the country, and, most recently, Ted Cruz named him as a top national security adviser to his campaign.

Despite all the new attention, Gaffney is still his same old self, pushing variations on his favorite theory that a “red-green axis” of progressives and Islamists are conspiring to destroy America with the enthusiastic support of a treasonous President Obama.

Gaffney returned to that theme in an interview earlier this month with Robert Vandervoort of the English-only group ProEnglish, in which he wondered if progressives are conspiring with Islamists to use government programs for people who aren’t proficient in English in order to “take us down.”

Vandervoort took over at ProEnglish after a stint running a white nationalist group in Illinois; ProEnglish itself is part of the network of anti-immigration organizations linked to John Tanton, who also espoused some white nationalist views. Earlier this year, Gaffney interviewed infamous white nationalist writer Jared Taylor — of whom Vandervoort is a fan before unconvincingly pleading ignorance of Taylor’s views when he was called out for it.

One of ProEnglish’s policy goals is to rescind an executive order signed by Bill Clinton that instructs federal agencies to implement systems to help people who are not fluent in English interact with government programs, which Vandervoort told Gaffney presents not just fiscal concerns but a “cultural concern” about the “kind of message we’re sending” by translating government documents.

Gaffney agreed that help for people who aren’t proficient in English undermines the nation’s “identity” and is probably part of a liberal plot to “take us down.”

“The character of a nation, the identity of a nation is obviously, to some extent at least, defined by those shared attributes like language,” he said. “So to the extent that we’ve essentially thrown that over the side, do you see this as part of a larger endeavor, my guess most especially by the left, to do away with the national identity of the United States and in the process sort of take us down?”

Vandervoort agreed that "it is part of the left’s agenda to drive us apart linguistically,” prompting Gaffney to note that the whole thing also ties into the “red-green axis” because the “Islamists who are seeking to balkanize and otherwise bring us down and would obviously be among the beneficiaries” of such translation services.

Ted Cruz Adds Birther, Anti-Muslim Conspiracy Theorist To His Campaign

Ted Cruz has continued to reach out to extremists that even other Republicans wouldn’t dare touch, today appointing Frank Gaffney, an activist so bizarre that even the American Conservative Union issued a blistering report criticizing him for making outlandish claims, to his campaign’s foreign policy advisory board.

Gaffney, who heads the Center for Security Policy, has alleged that “there is mounting evidence that the president not only identifies with Muslims, but actually may still be one himself,” calling President Obama “America’s first Muslim president.”

Indeed, Gaffney believes that Obama may not just be a secret Muslim but also an Islamist bent on aiding “Islamic supremacists” and instituting “the Sharia blasphemy agenda of our enemies” in the U.S., comparing the president to Osama bin Laden.

Among Obama’s secret Islamist crimes? Gaffney once claimed that what was clearly a rocket on a redesigned Missile Defense Agency logo was actually an Islamic crescent that was created on orders from Obama. He claims that the president wants to overturn the Citizens United decision in order to ban anti-Muslim speech and believes that Obama is trying to give control over the Internet to an Islamic group.

He told one radio host that “the Obama administration is … well, they’re playing for the other team” and “providing aid and comfort to enemies of the United States. And that is the definition, as you know, of treason.”

It shouldn’t be surprising that Gaffney had his fingers all over the smear campaign targeting Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin for supposedly being a Muslim Brotherhood agent. He even accused New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie of committing “misprision of treason” for appointing a Muslim to a state judgeship.

If this smells like a McCarthyist push against Muslims serving in government, you’re right, as Gaffney has called for Congress to establish a House Anti-American Activities Committee to investigate those in government who are secretly aiding Islamists.

It is a bit ironic, though, that Gaffney would join the Canadian-born Cruz’s presidential campaign, since Gaffney has pushed the birther conspiracy theory that Obama was born abroad and is therefore ineligible to serve as president.

One of Gaffney’s colleagues, Clare Lopez, who also joined Cruz’s campaign team, is such a conspiracy theorist that she can’t decide whether Obama is a secret Sunni Muslim radical or a secret Shiite Iran-lover. Also joining the Cruz campaign is Andy McCarthy, who defended Donald Trump’s ban on the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims from entering the U.S. by stating that Islam is not a religion.

Of course, Cruz has echoed many of Gaffney’s own claims, baselessly asserting that the Obama administration imposed a “ban on anti-Muslim rhetoric” and secretly aids terrorism. Cruz also spearheaded a McCarthy-esque campaign against then-secretary of defense nominee Chuck Hagel, joining Gaffney in wondering if Hagel was an agent for America’s enemies.

And that’s what is truly scary.

'Voter Fraud' Alarmists Claim Obama Wants Noncitizens To Vote

Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy, and the Heritage Foundation’s Hans von Spakovsky, one of the country’s most vocal advocates for restrictive voting laws, agreed in an interview on Gaffney’s “Secure Freedom Radio” yesterday that the Justice Department under President Obama has been pushing back against voter registration restrictions because the president “wants noncitizens to vote.”

The Obama administration’s Justice Department is siding with voting rights groups that are trying to stop a move by the director of the Election Assistance Commission that would make it harder to register to vote in three states by including those states’ “proof of citizenship” requirements on federal voter registration forms.

Such a step would have a damaging impact on voter registration: MSNBC reports that Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who pushed through one of the most restrictive voter registration laws in the country, has provided documentation that just “seven non-citizens registered in the decade before the state’s proof of citizenship law went into effect in 2013,” while “voting rights groups have said over 40,000 registrations have been thrown out or suspended because of the law.”

To Gaffney and von Spakovsky, this is all proof that President Obama wants noncitizens to commit voter fraud.

“Would it be fair to say … that the government, starting with Barack Obama, actually wants noncitizens to vote and is doing its level best to bring more of them here, among other reasons, for that purpose?” Gaffney asked.

“Oh, I think so,” von Spakovsky responded, “because, look, this isn’t the only instance of this. A few years ago when Florida started trying to clear noncitizens off their voter registration rolls, and they found thousands of them, this very same Justice Department under Eric Holder actually went to court to try to stop them from doing that, making the absurd claim that it violated the National Voter Registration Act … So they actually went to court to try to stop them from taking noncitizens off the voter rolls.”

The Florida incident he was referring to was a planned voter roll purge that the Justice Department contended used out-of-date information and gave voters too little time to correct the record if they were incorrectly identified as noncitizens.

Frank Gaffney: Pope Francis Has 'Anti-American' Views, President Obama 'Hostile To This Country'

Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy, alleged in a radio interview last week that President Obama and Pope Francis are both in cahoots with Islamists to promote an “anti-American” agenda.

Gaffney told Indianapolis radio host Greg Garrison on Friday that the “red-green axis” of Islamists and progressives are working toward the “common purpose” of “taking down our country.”

Garrison alleged that President Obama doesn’t care about people saying “death to America” in Iran. “‘Death to America’ is a thing that is apparently meaningless to President Obama or something that in some sense of the word he’s kind of okay with,” he said.

“Yeah, that’s the scary part,” Gaffney said, “is that it sure sounds as though it isn’t fighting words for sure and, if it’s not something he actually endorses, and I shudder to think of that, he certainly isn’t doing anything to discourage it. To the contrary, what we’re watching him do is, as you said, emboldening folks who feel this way and empowering them to believe that they will be able with impunity not just to chant that sort of thing but to act on it.”

Earlier in the interview, Gaffney took on Pope Francis’ comments about the southern border wall, saying that the pope is “very much imbued” with “the sort of revolutionary, social justice, liberation theology agenda of the Jesuits of Latin America.”

That theology he said, is “rabidly anti-American” and “is increasingly an incitement to people to act against this country, including our sovereignty and our security, notably that extravaganza at the border.”

“But I’m sorry to say that I think this is in the service of people who are very much hostile to this country,” he said, “and whether that’s the Obama administration or whether that’s the enemies external to this country, they’re benefiting from his lending a patina of religious authority to what they’re about.”

The Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney, a former adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, said today that Democrats are “aligned with our enemies and not with America” and “will doom all of us if they have their way.” In an interview with “Breitbart News Daily,” Gaffney accused Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine of “aligning” with the Muslim Brotherhood and implicated the party in far-left, anti-DNC protests in Philadelphia this week in which protesters reportedly burned American and Israeli flags.... One person who was convinced by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's make-believe one-man prosecution and conviction of Hillary Clinton at the Republican National Convention last night was Frank Gaffney, who declared on his "Secure Freedom Minute" broadcast today that the only way out for Clinton now is to seek a preemptive pardon from President Obama for crimes that she has not even been charged with but for which she will eventually be "tried and convicted in the court of public opinion." Interestingly, Gaffney once accused Christie of "misprision of treason"... MORE >

“‘No justice, no peace’ is the victimhood narrative being used by some to justify and possibly incite insurrection,” Gaffney said on his “Secure Freedom Minute” this... “When we recognize... Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy and a former adviser to Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, joined conservative radio host Greg Garrison on his show on Friday to discuss recent anti-Trump protests. Gaffney argued that Black Lives Matter, “Occupy types,” liberals and “Islamic supremacists” form an “axis of evil” and that they oppose “the rule of law,” “our government,” “our Constitution” and “freedom more generally.” Gaffney claimed that supporters of liberal investor George... “By contrast, groups comprised of different people tend to question one another’s assumptions, draw on divergent... Terry McAuliffe for his executive order restoring voting rights to 200,000 people who had served time for felonies but who had previously... MORE >

The event page notes: USCMO’S advocacy day event will focus on promoting a legislative agenda in support of equality and social justice issues that will be of benefit to all Americans, regardless of faith or...
