Religious Right superstars Jerry Falwell, Wendy Wright (president of Concerned Women for America), and Richard Land (president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission) appeared today on a Center for Moral Clarity advertisement promoting the federal constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. Bishop Harry Jackson, a D.C.-area pastor and frequent speaker at right-wing events (such as “Justice Sunday”), told viewers of Ohio televangelist Rod Parsley’s “Breakthrough,” “We got to just keep pressing in. We’re going to be persistent and patient. And eventually, we’re going to win.” Parsley urged his viewers to contact their congressmen, although the amendment failed to reach a simple majority in the Senate and is likely to fail to receive a two-thirds vote in the House.
