E.W. Jackson: Black Lives Matter Is ‘Demonic’

On a conference call he organized with conservative activists last month, Virginia Religious Right activist and GOP politician E.W. Jackson lashed out at the “demonic Black Lives Matter movement” and claimed that President Obama wants to accept Syrian refugees because he’s intent on “defending Islam” rather than “defending America.”

Jackson made the comments immediately before Sen. Ted Cruz joined the call. As we reported yesterday, Cruz pledged activists on the call, including Americans for Truth about Homosexuality’s Peter LaBarbera, that he would reverse LGBT rights victories if elected president.

Jackson, once a staunch opponent of desegregation efforts in Boston, urged conservative activists to join one of his campaigns to “address the problem in America’s cities right now” because urban issues “threaten to boil over into real unrest in our country as a result of this demonic Black Lives Matter movement and the rhetoric of this president and before him Attorney General Eric Holder and Al Sharpton and all of these folks who are so dedicated to stirring up racial strife.”

Jackson also claimed that many Syrian refugees settled in the U.S. will inevitably commit terrorist attacks, “and yet this president is hell-bent — and I’m using that word advisably but I think properly, because it really is hellish — hell-bent on bringing these people into our country even though he knows that there is no way to eliminate the risk that it poses to the American people and our national security.”

Jackson then went on to cite a fake Obama quote that originated in a chain email to attack the president: “He said in a book one time that if the winds ever blew against Islam, he would always stand with Islam. And he told the truth because he definitely stands with Islam and defends Islam at all costs. But he ought to be defending America, not defending Islam, but defending America.”

Later in the call, Jackson said that “this whole homosexual, same-sex, transgender stuff” amounts to “spitting in the face of Almighty God.”
