Yesterday, we wrote a post taking note of an online broadcast in which Religious Right activists “Coach” Dave Daubenmire and Sheila Zilinsky had agreed that California Gov. Jerry Brown is a “treasonous huckster” who “should be hanging from a rope.”
Apparently, our post did not sit well with Daubenmire, who kicked off his “Pass The Salt Live” webcast this morning by calling Right Wing Watch a bunch of “scumbags” and attacking the author personally as a “sissy man” and a “lying serpent.”
“I’m going to talk to the scumbags at Right Wing Watch,” Daubenmire said, “and that sissy man—I don’t even know who he is, that Kyle something at Right Wing Watch, that sissy man who lies.”
“I’m speaking to you right now, Kyle,” he continued, “you lying serpent, you. You snake. You’re just a snake … Hey Kyle, put that in your headline, ‘Coach calls Right Wing Watch the devil’s team’ because you guys are. You are of your father, the devil, dude, and the works of your father, you will do. He was a liar from the beginning—that’s what the scripture says, Kyle—a liar from the beginning. He doesn’t just tell lies, he is a liar and, Kyle, you are his son.”
Daubenmire was outraged by the fact that we took Zilinsky’s comments at face value, asserting that her statement about wanting to see Brown “hanging from a rope” was “totally [taken] out of context” because it was just a “kind of a tongue-in-cheek, kind of a satirical thing to say.”
“Kyle, you know that,” Daubenmire stated. “You understand that and you lie about it. Hey, dude, listen, I can take it, I’m a big boy, it doesn’t bother me, but you’re picking on a woman. You’re picking on a woman!”
