McDonald, like so many other Republicans and right-wing activists, was misrepresenting recent comments that Tlaib made about the Holocaust in order to attack her when he challenged Tlaib to bring her “sorry ass” onto his program so that he could tell her to her face that he thinks she is an anti-Semite who hates America.
“Let me tell you something,” he said, “I don’t even have a word for that—not one I can use on [the show] today—but, I’m telling you, that is despicable.”
“Ms. Tlaib, if you’re listening,” McDonald added, “you come on this show—I invite you on this show—bring your sorry ass on [this show] and you tell me how we twisted your words there, OK? Because I think you’re an anti-Semite, I think you hate this country, I think you hate the Jewish people—I’m with President Trump—you hate Israel, and you’re no better than Adolf Hitler.”
