Breitbart Radio Guest Compares Hawaii False Missile Alert To ‘Fake Information’ Published By ‘Leftist Media’

Jonathan Gilliam, a former Navy SEAL turned right-wing media analyst and SiriusXM host, told Breitbart editor-in-chief and radio host Alex Marlow that an emergency alert false alarm sent to Hawaii residents warning of a ballistic missile strike was an example of the dangers that false information spread by “leftist media” present.

Gilliam joined Marlow on today’s episode of “Breitbart News Daily” to discuss the false alert, which warned Hawaiians of a “ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii” and urged residents to “seek immediate shelter.” The alert stood uncorrected for 38 minutes.

While discussing various media reactions to the event, Gilliam warned that the false alert showed “how dangerous false information can actually be,” and then used that line of analysis to continue the pro-Trump media’s ongoing effort to label critical reporting about President Trump and his associates as “fake news.”

“We saw an entire state in the United States, several islands, go into sheer panic mode because of false information,” Gilliam said. “And when you think about that in comparison to the fake information that is blasted across TV and radio by leftist media on a daily basis, you start to get a picture of how dangerous the left is and how dangerous the fake information is they spew daily. It affects an entire continent and in some cases the entire world, the way that they spit this stuff out.”

Marlow responded, “Yeah, and thank goodness that Ajit Pai and the FCC are investigating it.”
