This weekend, John Hagee began a new four-part sermon series entitled “The God America Has Forgotten,” which kicked off with a blistering sermon in which Hagee railed against all of the standard targets (the courts, the public schools, the government, the culture) and against all the standard issues (abortion, gay marriage, anti-Christian bias) as he warned that if this nation continues to reject God, God will remove his protection from this nation.
“The Bible says that all nations that forget God,” Hagee thundered, “are turned into Hell. I assure you that if America continues to reject the way of God, God will lift the hedge of protection from this nation and we’re going to experience a hellish nightmare unlike anything we’ve ever known before. Wake up, America! Let us return to the God of our fathers; the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob”:
