Beck: Romeike Case Orchestrated To Serve As A Precedent To Outlaw Homeschooling In America

As Brian mentioned earlier, Religious Right activists are furious that the Supreme Court has denied an appeal by a German family seeking asylum in the United States on the grounds that Germany does not permit them to homeschool their children.

Glenn Beck is likewise outraged by the developments, warning on his radio program today that the entire thing has been orchestrated from the start in order to set a precedent so that homeschooling can be outlawed in the United States.

“This has Cass Sunstein’s finger prints all over it,” Beck said, attributing the entire thing to his favorite non-George Soros boogeyman, claiming that the motivation behind this case has been about laying the groundwork to make homeschooling illegal in America.

“Please, dear God,” Beck begged, “do not make me right on this one. Please don’t let me be right on this one. But everything in me tells me that’s what this story is about: making sure they shut down homeschooling.”

“There is going to come a time when you’re not going to be able to homeschool your kids,” he continued, stating once again that he hopes that he is wrong but strongly suspects that he’ll be proven right because everyone knows that he has been right about everything else that is happening.

“Can we stop being right, now?” Beck pleaded. “Please. I don’t want to be right anymore because we’ve now passed all of the easy things and nobody is waking up. We’ve passed all of the easy things and the only things that are left are the spooky ones”:

UPDATE: It looks like Beck’s wish has been granted and he has been proven wrong, as his own The Blaze website is reporting that, despite losing their asylum appeal, the government has informed the family that they can remain in the United States permanently:

Today, a Supervisor with the Department of Homeland Security called a member of our legal team to inform us that the Romeike family has been granted “indefinite deferred status”. This means that the Romeikes can stay in the United States permanently (unless they are convicted of a crime, etc.)

This is an incredible victory that can only be credited to our Almighty God.

We also want to thank those of who spoke up on this issue–including that long ago White House petition. We believe that the public outcry made this possible while God delivered the victory.

This is an amazing turnaround in 24 hours. Praise the Lord.
