Promoting the entirely bogus claim that President Obama is somehow secretly working to undermine the re-election of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mat Staver and Matt Barber ripped Obama on Liberty Counsel’s “Faith and Freedom” radio program today, declaring that Netanyahu, not Obama, is the leader of the free world.
Continuing the Religious Right tradition of blindly and silently accepting whatever Israel does regardless of how it conflicts with their supposed principles, Barber wondered if the world was “reliving the 1930s” as Netanyahu, the modern-day Winston Churchill, must fight against President Obama’s Neville Chamberlain-like efforts to appease the Nazis, who are, in this case, radical Islamic militants.
“It is absolutely unconscionable,” Barber said. “You know, President Obama is not the leader of the free world, Benjamin Netanyahu is the leader of the free world.”
Staver, of course, shared those views, saying that “President Obama is bad for America [and] the sooner he goes, the better”:
