Glenn Beck harbors a seething hatred for Oprah Winfrey, whom he considers to be the “biggest fraud of my lifetime.” So it has been fascinating to watch his program lately as Beck slowly adopt her entire media and marketing strategy as he has begun spending show after show preaching to his audience that they need to overcome their fears and find their own purpose in order to create amazing lives.
Beck’s new role as self-help guru is now resulting in entire programs where he does nothing but hail a Kindle book that he happened to stumble upon as “the way out of just about every mess the world finds itself in.”
A few weeks ago, Beck discovered a Kindle book on Amazon called “The Art of Being Unmistakable: A Collection of Essays About Making a Dent in The Universe” that he’s been promoting it ever since and last night, Beck had the author Srinivas Rao on the program to discuss his book and his worldview. During the interview, Rao explained that, at age 34, he had been fired from every job he’d ever had and was broke and living with his parents, spending his days surfing and so he wrote this book … and, as far as we can tell, that is pretty much about it.
So basically, a broke, unemployed blogger living at home with his parents self-published a 64 page Kindle book and now he’s being praised by Glenn Beck for having produced “one of the most important pieces of writing I have seen in quite some time”:
