Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who filled his presidential campaign with a bevy of unhinged Religious Right activists and at one point even willingly shared the stage with an extremist pastor who calls for putting gay people to death and said he would cover himself in cow manure if one of his children was gay, declared at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) today that the Democratic Party’s base is “bat crap crazy.”
“The Democrats right now are living in an alternative universe,” Cruz said. “They are in denial and they are angry … I have never seen anything like this.”
“There is a technical term for their base,” he stated. “Bat crap crazy.”
