Ted Cruz, Larry Klayman And The GOP Nullification Strategy

Last night on PoliticsNation, Rev. Al Sharpton highlighted Larry Klayman’s rally at the White House, which was billed as an attempt to overthrow President Obama.

Sharpton featured Right Wing Watch footage of the event, including rants from Klayman, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah, birther sheriff Richard Mack and a George Washington impersonator, with speaker after speaker calling not only for the House to impeach Obama but also for a second American Revolution.

Sharpton noted that Ted Cruz, who joined Klayman at an event last month at which Klayman called for an uprising against the president, has also been floating impeachment rhetoric.

“Ted Cruz has flirted with these fringe elements all the way through,” MSNBC’s Richard Wolffe told Sharpton.

The GOP’s shift to the far-right fringe — led in part by Cruz — has gone so far that the party is now refusing to even let the Senate vote on President Obama’s judicial and executive branch nominees.

Sharpton added that Republicans “are trying to nullify the fact” that Obama won re-election by refusing to let the president fill empty seats in the executive branch and on the courts . “We have never seen anything like this where you are just nullifying the powers of the president to nominate people to the courts, people to the administration, this is unprecedented,” Sharpton said.
