In an interview with the conservative outlet Newsmax today, Lloyd Marcus of the Conservative Campaign Committee broke into tears while defending the Tea Party.
Marcus, who has also worked with the Tea Party Express and wrote the “Tea Party Anthem,” said that the media, establishment Republicans and President Obama — whom he said should be impeached — are unfairly smearing the Tea Party as a racist and xenophobic movement.
He twice broke into tears during the ten minute interview, the first after host Ed Berliner said many voters believe Tea Party activists refuse to compromise and aren’t happy unless they get everything they want. Marcus insisted that the movement is filled with decent, patriotic people who simply want to unify America and deliver the country from Obama’s lawlessness.
