Yesterday, right-wing pastor Rick Joyner participated in a discussion on Facebook Live with his friend David Harris Jr., during which he defended President Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who recently pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI during the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, on the grounds that Flynn’s work in the intelligence community had conditioned him to lie.
“Flynn had a whole lot to do with the intelligence community,” Joyner said. “To be in that community, you’re wrapped in deception all the time. You’re trying to hide who you are, what you’re doing and there’s this thing of deception that comes on you and it’s like they can’t tell the truth after a while.”
“I just really feel for Flynn,” he added. “To get nailed for lying to the FBI, I just say why can’t we nail the FBI for lying to us so much? Why isn’t that a crime?”
