On his “Pray In Jesus Name” program today, Gordon Klingenschmitt reacted to a recent World Health Organization report that found that excessive consumption of alcohol was responsible for over three million deaths in 2012, warning that drunkenness leads to demonic possession.
As Klingenschmitt explained, alcohol itself is not the problem, but excess consumption of alcohol leads to drunkenness, debauchery, and demonic possession, asking “what kind of spirits do you want inside of you? Do you want liquid spirits which are actually, by the time you get done with the lust and the drunkenness and the debauchery become a demonic spirit that you consent to by an act of your free will.”
Citing 1 Peter, Klingenschmitt warned that “there is a demonic spirit of drunkenness that wants to kill you”:
