Klingenschmitt: Sentencing Of Former Egyptian President To Death Is A Fulfillment Of Biblical Prophecy

On his most recent “Pray In Jesus Name” program, Gordon Klingenschmitt hailed the news that former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi had been sentenced to death, saying that Morsi’s death sentence was prophesied in the Bible as a sign that Egypt would “come of Jesus Christ.”

Klingenschmitt said that he discerned “the spirit of freedom” upon current Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for leading a military coup that overthrew “the tyrant Morsi” who was trying to impose Islam on the nation. And in sentencing Morsi to death, Klingenschmitt said, Biblical prophecy is now coming to fruition.

“This is, perhaps, a fulfillment of Scripture,” he said. “This was prophesied, these days were prophesied by the Old Testament prophet Isaiah in chapter 19. He said, and God spoke to him about a prophecy about Egypt — in fact, it was against the demonic spirits in Egypt at that time — but he said that the Lord would deliver them and give them freedom.”

Citing a passage stating that God “will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian, brother will fight against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom,” Klingenschmitt said that we are now seeing this prophecy fulfilled and it will lead to a “great evangelistic explosion [in Egypt] and they come to Jesus Christ”:
