John Bolton and the Battle of Armageddon

The Center for Individual Freedom is calling on its activists to contact their senators and urge confirmation of John Bolton as Ambassador to the UN.

CFIF makes it easy to do so, providing an automated form and suggested text that reads

[Bolton] has demonstrated repeatedly that he is a zealous and effective advocate for U.S. interests.  He has also proven that he can be an effective voice in the world body.  Bolton’s healthy skepticism of the U.N. has given him a strength of argument in pressing for U.N. reform that no other nation’s representative enjoys.

That is rather measured language, considering the foaming-at-the-mouth rhetoric CFIF spews at its supporters elsewhere, demanding that Sen. Lincoln Chafee be stripped of his committee assignments if he fails to support Bolton and warning that only Bolton is capable of protecting America from the coming “Battle of Armageddon.”

Other more sensible people fear the United Nations more than death itself.  Some have even called it the Beast of the Apocalypse.

Maybe that’s why Sen. Jesse Helms, as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee — once said of John Bolton: “[He] is the kind of man with whom I would want to stand at Armageddon, if it should be my lot to be on hand for what is forecast to be the final battle between good and evil in this world.”

We want an Ambassador at the United Nations who will make certain the Battle of Armageddon isn’t fought on American soil.  The American people want someone who is tough and who will stand up to the hate-America crowd at the United Nations.

John Bolton is that man.

“More sensible people fear the United Nations more than death itself” – that pretty much tells you all you need to know about the Center for Individual Freedom.
