Heritage Foundation’s Jim Carafano Blames President Obama For Rise In Anti-Immigrant Sentiment

In an appearance on One America News Network’s “The Daily Ledger” on Friday, Heritage Foundation vice president Jim Carafano claimed that President Obama’s “animosity and divisiveness” is responsible for a rise in anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States.

“Here’s the thing that’s really frustrating to me, is this is a nation of immigrants and that’s part of who we are,” Carafano told host Graham Ledger. “The president’s actions have been so divisive that if you look at the polling, Americans aren’t just worried about illegal immigrants, Americans are now increasingly becoming anti-immigrant. And they’re becoming anti-immigrant because of the animosity and divisiveness of this president, which is really, really shocking.”

Ledger, apparently unaware that he was undermining Carafano’s argument that Obama is responsible for spreading anti-immigrant views, responded by disputing the idea that the U.S. is a “nation of immigrants” and suggested that all undocumented immigrants be deported immediately.
