On his “Pray In Jesus Name” program this week, Religious Right activist and Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt encouraged his viewers to join the Religious Right boycott of Zales because the jewelry store featured a lesbian couple in a recent television commercial.
Advertising executives at Zales are under demonic possession, Klingenschmitt said, which is causing them to promote ungodly things like gay marriage.
“It is a demonic spirit not only inside of the lesbian couple who are pretending to get married in this TV commercial, but now influencing and ruling in the hearts of the ad executives who have decided at Zales Jewelers that they should promote this as a good thing to all of America,” he said. “They are deceivers, they are fooling the America public and we need to expose that as wrong.”
Klingenschmitt then prayed that God will “liberate America from the tyranny of these deceptive images” and that Americans will resist Zales’ “attempt to re-educate us.”
