On his radio program today, Glenn Beck announced the latest step that he and Religious Right pseudo-historian David Barton are taking in creating a history museum that they intend to use to personally indoctrinate students with their district brand of right-wing misinformation.
Beck announced that he, Barton, and Barton’s son Tim will be leading two-week internship programs this summer through Beck’s Mercury One charity, where college-age students will work on projects specifically chosen to promote a Beck/Barton-approved worldview:
- A Biblical Worldview
- The Truth in History
- America’s Godly Heritage
- Early Education in America
- How the Bible Influenced America
- American Exceptionalism
- God and the Constitution
- Reclaiming the Land
For a mere $375—not including travel, lodging, food or any other expenses—select students will receive direct instruction from Barton and Beck on how to conduct historical research before heading off to college, where they can then set their ignorant professors straight on the “real” history of America.
“Your kids will be challenged to go and find the documents to make the cases that they’re most likely going to have to make in college with their professors,” Beck said. “If you want to know where did the founders actually stand on God, where did they stand on abortion, where did they stand on some of the things we are talking about today, I guarantee you the professors at college will have the wrong answer. Your kids are going to be taught the right answer and shown how to find it.”
