Ex-Gay Therapist Threatens Lawsuit After Exposé On His ‘Crayon Drawing Brain Therapy’

Remember Jerry Mungadze, the brain “expert” who appeared on Religious Right broadcasts and promised to turn gay people straight by using his coloring book therapy, in which he has clients color in a picture of a brain with crayons in order to identify a homosexual or demonic presence?

Well, Mungadze was featured this week on a British show called Undercover Doctor: Cure Me I’m Gay, in which he not only said that the thyroid and adrenal glands are found in the brain but also admitted that he is actually colorblind.

Gawker posted video of the session, in which Mungadze — who only has degrees in biblical studies and counseling education — was featured along with other ex-gay therapists.

Mungadze told the Dallas Morning News today that he is considering a lawsuit against the show: “If I sue these people it will be to make sure they do responsible things, not because I want to prove something.”

“I am not a gay therapist. I see all kinds of people all day long. These people for whatever reason are attacking me… I’ve never made homosexuality an issue in therapy,” he said.

If Mungadze does not consider himself an ex-gay therapist, then why did he go on a Daystar program about homosexuality where he insisted that he has “healed” “several people” who said they were gay through his brain-crayon therapy?

Mungadze also told televangelist Benny Hinn that he can use the coloring book method to heal people of demonic possession.
