On last night’s episode of his “YourVoice America” program, ardent pro-Trump commentator and right-wing conspiracy theorist Bill Mitchell crafted an intricate piece of fan fiction in which he presented Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election as a brilliant example of President Trump using “political judo” to take down his enemies.
As Mitchell envisioned it, in the early days of Trump’s presidency, he met with then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the two crafted an ingenious plan to use concerns about Russian meddling in the election as cover to launch a sting operation to take down the deep state from the inside.
Mitchell claimed that Trump and Sessions knew that Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein were corrupt due to their alleged involvement in the Uranium One “scandal” and could therefore be used as a “Trojan horse” to carry out this sting operation in exchange for immunity from prosecution.
“So what will happen,” Mitchell said, imagining the conversation between Sessions and Trump, “is that in two years, you will be exonerated on this whole Russiagate mess—it was always baloney from the start—and I will step aside and I will be in the background. What will happen is the deep state will think that you and I are at odds with one another, so it will take their eye off of me, they will be focusing on Rosenstein. And meanwhile, I will be back doing all the research, setting up, getting all of the evidence together so when we finally come down on these guys, we’re going to have hundreds of thousands, tens of thousands of these sealed indictments, we’re going to have Guantanamo Bay upgraded and ready to go, we’re going to have this new executive order saying that Trump can step in there and seize assets. We’re going to be positioned so that we can take this thing down.”
“Once it’s ready to pop,” Mitchell continued to imagine Sessions telling Trump, “I will step aside as attorney general and then we’ve got Bill Barr, he’s waiting on the sidelines, he will step in, he’ll come in and bat clean-up and we’ll tear these deep state guys out.”
“People say, ‘Oh, Bill, that is a crazy idea,'” Mitchell bellowed. “That is exactly what is happening right now! That’s exactly what’s happening. It’s playing out right in front of our eyes and people say, ‘Bill, that’s a crazy idea.’ It’s happening!”
