Beck: Common Core Is Turning America Into A Police State

On his radio program today, Glenn Beck spent a good deal of time obsessing over a video of a parent being forcibly removed from a forum on Common Core in Maryland last week after which he was arrested and charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, saying that it was proof that America is turning into a police state.

“Write this down in your diary,” Beck said “and your kids will look at you as a prophet later.  Write this down in your diary; this is a road sign [of] the fundamental transformation of America and turning us into an absolute, recognizable police state. I believe this little incident in Baltimore is the beginning of it.”

For good measure, Beck then went on to repeat the false claim that, under Common Core, incorrect answers to math questions would not be wrong provided that the student could explain how they arrived at their answer.

“We are literally living in 1984,” Beck said. “They’re changing the answers to math now”:

Of course, as we pointed out when David Barton made this very same assertion on Beck’s show several weeks ago, this false claim has been debunked by none other than Beck’s own “The Blaze” website.

This is now the third example we have found of Beck repeating on his program information that has been specifically debunked by his own staff.
