In recent remarks posted on YouTube by right-wing activist Cliff Kincaid, Faith2Action’s Janet Porter gave her take on the Boy Scouts’ recent decision to allow openly gay scouts while continuing to bar openly gay troop leaders.

The Boy Scouts’ decision, Porter said, means “the last secular organization has capitulated to the homosexual agenda.”

“While they’re keeping out the homosexual predator scoutmasters,” she said, “they’re allowing these confused children who are sexually attracted to other boys to go camping with your son in the same tent.”

This, she added, would be just like the Girl Scouts opening up camping trips to boys.

Leave it to Don Feder of the World Congress of Families to write a column entitled “Concentration Camp Obama,” which alleges that the president may soon “shove you in a cattle car” if you oppose his supposedly Communist government. “In a few years, many of us could be ‘camping’ in a very real sense,” Feder writes, warning that Obama will use “the machinery of government to crush dissent” and achieve his goal of “destroying the conservative movement.”

In the 1942 Jack Benny/Carole Lombard movie "To Be Or Not To Be" – about a troupe of Polish actors trying to flee the Nazis – one villain, a Col. Ehrhardt, is referred to as "Concentration Camp Ehrhardt," to which Benny quips, "He does the concentrating. The Poles do the camping."

Since he came to office 4 1/2 long years ago, Obama has been concentrating on destroying the conservative movement – eliminating any opposition to the socialist republic he’s creating. In a few years, many of us could be "camping" in a very real sense.

If that sounds alarmist, read on. And try to see the big picture – not snooping, secret e-mail accounts, official harassment and intimidation, sundry assaults on the First Amendment and using the IRS as a presidential goon squad in isolation– but as a deliberate, coordinated, far-reaching plan to use the machinery of government to crush dissent.

Recall Obama’s bitter-clinger remarks from the 2008 campaign – identifying resistance to his message primarily among those who cling to religion, guns and "anti-immigrant" sentiment. Think of his anti-nationalism (including the rejection of American exceptionalism) and attacks on the family, via same-sex "marriage" and taking medical decisions out of the family’s hands.

The president is harassing his opponents, monitoring their activities, intimidating them, limiting their funding and generally creating a hostile environment for un-Obama speech.

Defending the super-snoops in his NSA, on Friday, the president warned, that if people can’t trust their rulers – himself first and foremost – "We’re going to have some problems here."

How can you not trust a man who lied to you about what happened in Benghazi, lied when he told you that if you liked your health insurance plan, you could keep it under ObamaCare, lied about not raising taxes on the middle class, lied about the impact of sequestration, lied about the use of chemical weapons in Syria being a "red line," and, just today, promised to keep North Korea from getting the nuclear weapons it already has.

Never mind. You just trust Obama, and you go right on trusting him – until they shove you in a cattle car.

Yesterday, Glenn Beck promised to break news within the next 24 hours that was going to rock the nation and, given the vague and cryptic way in which he spoke about it, it seemed to involve information obtained from a whistleblower that had the to potential "take down pretty much the whole power structure."

The 24 hour window has come and gone and the only news Beck's The Blaze has reported on today is that 70 House Republicans are preparing to revolt against comprehensive immigration reform legislation ... and judging by his radio broadcast from today, this was the big news that he promised yesterday:

There was literally no mention on his program today of a whistleblower or any information that will take down the entire system ... so did Beck's promise of news that would rock the nation yesterday have nothing to do with this supposed whistleblower? 

Was he talking about this immigration revolt the entire time and we simply got confused, thinking that he was promising a whistleblower? Because his whistleblower claims followed directly on the heels of his promise to rock the world with shocking news, so it seemed logical that this was what he was talking about.

But judging by his radio program today, it seems that the immigration revolt is the earth-shattering news that Beck was teasing yesterday.

What happened to his whistleblower?  Is that still under development? 

We genuinely have no idea what is going on.

TPM’s Perry Stein today reports that the Virginia GOP, fresh after nominating the ultraconservative ticket of Ken Cuccinelli and E.W. Jackson, has now appointed Rev. Joe Ellison as the party’s Director of African-American Engagement.

Republican Party of Virginia chairman Pat Mullins hailed Ellison for his “knowledge and experience,” and Ellison said that he will help build “the future of our party” by showing black voters that they “share far more values with the Republican Party than they realize.”

As Stein notes, Ellison in 2010 announced that he is “declaring war against Planned Parenthood” and applauded televangelist Pat Robertson’s claim that Haiti was devastated by a deadly earthquake as divine retribution for making a “pact with the Devil” 200 years ago.

From a spiritual standpoint, we think the Dr. Robertson was on target about Haiti, in the past, with voodoo. And we believe in the Bible that the practice of voodoo is a sin, and what caused the nation to suffer. Those who read the Bible and study the history know that what Dr. Robertson said was the truth.

Liberty Counsel today unveiled a 60-second Spanish-language radio program, Llamado de Libertad, “with the goal to encourage, educate and reach out to the Hispanic community.” Staver, who is also a board member of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, in a statement described Latinos as a monolith who concurs with his organization’s right-wing ideology:

“We are very excited to announce the launch of our Spanish version of Freedom’s Call, Llamado de Libertad,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. “The Hispanic Community believes in the same values as does Liberty Counsel—sanctity of life, family, and religious freedom.”

“Llamado de Libertad fulfills a need in Hispanic broadcasting,” said Yuri Mantilla. “The Spanish community needs to know more about what is going on in our nation—the laws and issues that Liberty Counsel is advocating.”

Liberty Counsel is partnering with the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference on a new Hispanic Initiative. “As the legislative and policy arm of the NHCLC, it is important that Liberty Counsel is communicating with the Hispanic community,” said Staver. “Building our presence on Spanish-language radio stations is a step in that direction.”

 

But like other groups, Latinos don’t speak with one voice, especially on the social issues that Liberty Counsel concentrates on.

One clue that Latinos aren’t aligned with the rabidly anti-Obama Liberty Counsel is that a whopping 71% of Latinos voted for Obama in the last election.

Liberty Counsel also might have little luck attracting Latino supporters over the group’s two central goals: criminalizing abortion and fighting gay rights.

ABC found that among Latino voters, 66% supported keeping abortion legal, compared to 59% of Americans at large. A 2012 Lake Research poll found that 68% of Latinos believe that abortion “should remain legal,” and NBC/WSJ poll reports that Latinos “increasingly oppose [Roe v. Wade] being overturned.”

Latino voters also outpace non-Hispanic whites and African Americans in their support for marriage equality, with 59% backing same-sex marriage. Quinnipiac similarly observed that with 63% favoring marriage equality, Latinos “support same-sex marriage than any other demographic.”

But just as Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber erroneously predicted that Jewish voters would turn en masse against Obama, the ultraconservative group’s latest stunt to appeal to Latinos may come up dry.

The Obama administration announced Monday that it would drop its fight to maintain age restrictions on the sale of emergency contraceptives. The Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins and Anna Higgins of FRC’s Center for Human Dignity responded on yesterday’s Washington Watch by outlining the supposed consequences this decision will have on young girls.

Perkins lamented that “inappropriate sexual behavior,” such as “date rape” and relations between adults and minors, “can easily be dealt with” now that the pill is available to minors without parental consent, while Higgins warned that the pill will now “be available to people who are preying on young girls,” despite the fact that allowing minors to purchase Plan B has no relation to its availability to adult predators.

Higgins: This over the counter access is really- another health concern is it’s going to be distancing girls who are at high risk for contracting sexually transmitted diseases or being sexually abused from accessing medical care or from talking to their parents about these issues.

Perkins: Let me zero in, Anna- Anna Higgins is my guest, you’re listening to Washington Watch, I’m your host Tony Perkins. We’re talking about a decision that came from the Obama administration last night to drop their appeal of a judge’s ruling out of New York that would require over-the-counter sale of Plan B, the one-pill version that’s sold by Teva. The issue of sexual exploitation, now that this drug is available over the counter, it’s easy if there is a case of inappropriate sexual behavior, whether it’s a date rape or something else, it can be, or an adult that’s having relations with a minor, that can easily be dealt with without any participation of a parent or other medical experts or guidance provided that could protect that child in the long run.

Higgins: Yeah that’s a grave concern that’s being glossed over by the proponents of this decision. You know they’re really not addressing this. It’s a very serious concern. Because what we have here is a way for this kind of emergency contraceptive or Plan B to be available to people who are preying on young girls and these young girls are avoiding their first line of defense which is parents and doctors, you know, and protecting them against people who would prey on them. So you know this is available like you said to any age, there’s no age limit now, so you know these young girls could be potentially eleven, twelve years old and the idea that they’re being preyed upon by sexual predators is a very real possibility.

We already know that Rick Wiles considers President Obama to be a Nazi, Communist, America-sodomizing, “devil from Hell,” and now we can add to that list a “shadow person” who “doesn’t exist.” While speaking with Mike Zullo, who is leading Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s birther investigation, Wiles said Obama is “not just a smooth talking, jive talking, street thug that talked his way into the White House, it means that he was placed here, he was deliberately placed here as a child” as a “foreign plant.”

Zullo said that he and Arpaio are urging Congress to hold hearings about their birther investigations, which Wiles warned could be the only way to prevent the “overthrow of the Republic.”

Zullo: It’s just really a very murky background that is very difficult to follow and that background could not get you a job as a janitor in the White House, let alone a President of the United States.

Wiles: This persona that he operates under simply doesn’t exist. He is a shadow person. For this to take place, and I’m in complete agreement because these are the kind of things that we have talked about on this program through the years, then what it means is he’s not just a smooth talking, jive talking, street thug that talked his way into the White House, it means that he was placed here, he was deliberately placed here as a child. His identity was concealed, there were traces of identity made for him, whether college or other ways, but he never existed in any of those things, he is a manufactured person and the conclusion I have come to is that he is a foreign plant.

Zullo: You’ve got to get your arms around our constitution; you’ve got to understand what is being done here: you are being conditioned to accept things that perhaps are not really legal. You get into the natural born issue, you get into the First Amendment rights, you’re starting to be told what you can and cannot do or what is acceptable and not acceptable regardless of what that founding document says.

Wiles: And that is an overthrow of the Republic.

Zullo: I agree with you, it’s something to be very concerned about and the American people do have to realize that there does come a tipping point where when you wake up it is too late to wake up and we are getting very, very close to that. Something has to be done with thus and Sheriff Arpaio and I are making a desperate push now to get this in front of Congress.

Reps. Michele Bachmann, Steve King, and Louie Gohmert are reportedly planning to revolt over comprehensive immigration reform legislation and "are planning a politically risky showdown with Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to try to force additional debate on an immigration bill they say will mean amnesty for illegal immigrants and have dire consequences for the country."

So, naturally, Bachmann decided to reach out to the reasonable folks over at WorldNetDaily in an effort to rally support for the effort, warning that if immigration reform passes, "we will never again have a Republican president" because the entire political power structure will forever fall under Democratic control and "you will never again be able to see our country return to its constitutional foundations":
