Linda Harvey Blames Child Suicide And Mental Illness On Pro-LGBT, Pro-Choice Liberals

On the radio show “From the Median” last week, Linda Harvey of the anti-gay group Mission America blamed anxiety, depression and suicide attempts among children on “radical liberals” who teach children that “sexually deviant lifestyles and behaviors and Planned Parenthood” are “good and right.”

While Harvey admitted that Republicans aren’t “angels,” she said she “cannot understand how any thinking person could support the Democratic Party these days.”

“They simply do not seem to care about the unborn or the born children in their futures,” Harvey said. “They think that — they’re very in favor of all sorts of sexually deviant lifestyles and behaviors and Planned Parenthood and, you know, justifying all of this and that these are all good and right things. These are destructive, harmful, and evil things, and children are suffering greatly. The instability, the insecurity, the anxiety, the depression, the suicide attempts can, I think, so many of them, be laid at the feet of these radical liberals who push all kinds of programs and force all this on kids so early.”

Harvey urged parents to “keep up with this” since their children are being harmed.

Harvey also claimed that far from condoning homosexuality, the Bible “is a thoroughly heterosexual book.”

“There’s no example of a homosexual relationship in Scripture, there is no example of homosexuality ever being approved,” she said.

“When people say, ‘Oh, there’s only about 11 Bible verses throughout the Bible,’ no, there’s tons of other verses that, by implication, just exclude homosexuality, and the ones that do talk about it, it’s like, are you kidding me, you know?” Harvey said. “It’s an abomination. It’s completely against the way that God created. And it goes back to a creation issue, if you believe in God as Creator and that he distinctly decided, when he was thinking about humans, made us male and female, there is a reason for that and it’s like wearing pairs of clothes that are way too large or way too small.

“When you grasp who you are as God created you, you suddenly have much more sense of security, integrity, and many things begin to make more sense, and that’s one of the places people start when you’re trying to overcome somebody’s sexual confusion issues, and I think that’s where we’re at. You open people up to everything, and you get everything.”
