Beck: 'Unbeknownst To Him,' Jonathan Turley Was Quoting The Bible
Earlier this week, George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley testified before the House Judiciary Committee at a hearing is entitled "Enforcing the President’s Constitutional Duty to Faithfully Execute the Laws." Turley has long been a critic of the expansion of executive power and it's encroachment onto the roles constitutionally designated to the other branches of government.
At the hearing, Turley testified that the encroachment of executive power has gotten worse under President Obama, which has made him a hero to Glenn Beck who explained on his radio broadcast today that something Turley said during his testimony came straight out of the Book of Isaiah, though Turley probably did not even know it.
In Turley's statement that "our system is changing in a very fundamental way, and it’s changing without a whimper of regret or opposition," Beck heard the words of Isaiah 10 in which God warns that he will pushing the nation of Assyria for the wickedness of its rulers:
And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
"Jonathan Turley," Beck said, "most likely unbeknownst to him was quoting Isaiah":
