Beck: As Today’s Civil Rights Leaders, We’re ‘Going To Take A Billy Club To The Head’

On his television program last night, Glenn Beck continued to warn his audience that unrest in Baltimore and elsewhere is all a “set-up” and part of a well-coordinated effort to undermine social cohesion and the only people who can stop it are Beck’s audience members, who are the leaders of the modern-day civil rights movement.

“I’ve said this from the very beginning that I believe our audience is the civil rights leaders,” he said. “They are the civil rights leaders of this time, you just don’t know it yet … What we’re fighting for are those basic civil rights: I am a man, treat me as a man.”

And as today’s civil rights leaders, Beck and his audience have to be prepared to take a beating in order to save this nation.

“The reason why non-violent resistance works is because you’re going to take a billy club to the head,” Beck declared. “And you’re going to take it and when people see that, people — as long as you’re not too far gone, and we may, we’re approaching this time — as long as we’re not too far gone as human beings, people will see that image and they will say, ‘That’s wrong, that is wrong, I may not even agree with him a hundred percent but I know that’s wrong.’ And that’s what leads to reconciliation: no hatred. It’s tough, but that’s our mission”:
