Beck: ‘I’m Not The Evil Conservative Monster They Say I Am’

As anyone who watches Glenn Beck’s radio and television programs with any regularity can tell you, the messages delivered by Beck can vary widely from day to day, depending on Beck’s mood and worldview at any given moment. One day, Beck is all “let’s just love one another and treat everyone with respect and dignity” and then the next day (or even later on the same program) he is railing against progressives and those with whom he disagrees as the root of all evil today and throughout history.

On last night’s program, Beck was in one of his Kumbaya moods while discussing the remark he made a few weeks back that he’d “stand with GLAAD” against the vicious anti-gay bigotry being stoked in Russia, saying that he was rather surprised that other people were shocked that he would take such a stance.

“This isn’t a gay issue; it’s a human issue,” Beck declared, approximately two minutes into this clip. “I am a human who lives and breathes just like the next guy … I have a family. I like to laugh. I like to play with my kids. I like to watch a good movie; sometimes I see too many bad ones. I’m not angry. I’m not the evil conservative monster they say I am. And get this one, I don’t think they’re the monster either”:

Of course, this might be easier to believe if just a few months ago Beck hadn’t literally called Michelle Obama “a monster”:
